Melanie sat at the the bar of Batra's Inn. It was on the first floor. A floor up from that was the floor that contained all of the inn's rooms, including Melanie's. A book written in ancient text was propped open and Melanie was enjoying every word of it. To an ordinary person, the runes in it would be meaningless but Melanie understood it as well as her native tongue.

Melanie had only been reading for five minutes before she realized that she hadn't ordered anything yet. She had looked up from her book just in time too, because the bartender now made his way over to Melanie. "I'll take a mojito," Melanie requested before delving back into her book. If anyone happened to sit next to her though, she would not hesitate to close her book and socialize if they seemed to want to.

Akiva Xerxes
Akiva was tired of searching everywhere and even though he had told Finn all he knew, it hadn't helped that much as he had hoped. He could definitely use something to drink, but he didn't like alcohol so it was a bit weird seeing him enter a bar. But he needed to be somewhere, he didn't even know this was an inn before he saw people flirting with each other and go up the stairs. He looked up there and it looked indeed like a good inn, he wasn't going to look down on the people that might have one night stands. There were a lot of things that could happen when alcohol was involved. He himself became more agressive when there was too much in his blood, so he knew how to get away from it.

He walked to the bar and propped himself on one of the chairs, next to him was a young woman reading a book and before he even noticed the writing, he was already surprised that she could read in this atmosphere, it was quite noisy. He frowned a little when he looked at the runes. If she would catch him watching, he would apologize "Sorry, didn't mean to intrude. It looks really interesting although I have no idea what it is about." the Runes just made it more interesting, it could be a deadly boring book but he wouldn't believe because she was so absorbed by it. He ordered a ginger ale before he turned to the woman.
