Amai Okashi

Personal

Name: “Amai Okashi” [Alice Rinmizukimi]

Age: 19.

Gender: Female.

Class: Trickster.

Rank: D-Ranked.

Guild: Guildless.

Tattoo: Pink/Orange Fade, Over Belly.

Face: Kotori Itsuka [Date A Live].

Appearance

Height: 4’9”

Weight: 123 Pounds.

Hair: Pink.

Eyes: Pink.

Overall:

Amai is a rather youthful young lady. By most standards, she is much shorter than others her age, and she even appears much younger than she really is. Her eyes are bright and shining with emotion. Pink pools with hints of darker red swim in her orbs. Youthful soft cheeks top the curves of her lips. With the rounded frame of her face, her face encompasses a childlike appearance. Small rounded shoulders support thin but firm arms that end in childlike fingertips. A modest chest and flat stomach compliment her smaller torso. Thin but firm legs round out her body.

Amai’s normal attire consists of a stereotypical blue and white sailor school-girl outfit. Typically long-sleeved, the blue contrasts her pink and red natural colors. A blue skirt covers most of her upper thighs, and thigh-high stockings stretch up almost to the bottom of her skirt. Of other outfits, she has been known to wear a crimson petite dress, brown and white blouse/overall combination, and a more elegant black and crimson outfit for more serious confrontations.

Extra:

Personality

Personality:
Amai is a rather complex individual, her nuanced annoyance with fairness in the world written bluntly on her face. One might even call this a mask, as those who know her more personally see the sweetness inside her. Just like a walnut, she is hard on the outside yet soft on the inside. In a single word, she’s a Tsundere. Her rigid initial personality rubs tough and grinds on others, usually shoving others away in unnecessary fashion.

Spitfire describes this smaller girl beautifully. Her personality sparks and shines, radiating with pride. Ever the chip on her shoulder, she looks up at others with a glare more often than not. She constantly sees herself as being looked down upon, an unfortunate side effect of being of smaller stature. Due to these nuances, she is often the aggressor in situations, the catalyst for confrontations. When not interacting with others, though, she’s usually caught with a smile, confidence bright as the sun on her face and shining in her eyes. She may indeed realize her own inferiority, but that does not stop her from barking at larger dogs.

Amai takes a certain enjoyment in confrontations, to be honest, constantly pushing and testing herself against others. This does not just show her superiority if successful but also allows her to grow stronger if failed. She tends to look others in the eyes when confronting them, a show of equality; her diminutive stature is by no means a sign of her own inferiority. She’s not hesitant to throw a hit unless she knows she’s in mortal danger. Her abrasive attitude gets her into trouble, but it is part of what makes her who she is, driving herself to growth.

Robbed of her youthful innocence when she was merely eight years old, Amai obsesses over her youth. She has accepted the fact finally that she is no longer 8 years old, but she still dresses and even acts like a child. This is in a futile attempt to regain the years she lost from her childhood. Not ideal nor necessary, it feels practical to her. She desires such an existence. She wants youth so badly, and yet she knows she is already a young woman of age.

Bringing up her height is mistake. This diminutive dynamo resents any remarks made about her size. Being shorter than most are has made her self-conscious. However, she does not shy away from embarrassment; she tackles it head-on. In most situations, she’ll end up lashing out verbally or even physically against those who dare comment on her smaller stature. Her size instills the thought that she may be less ladylike, a completely internalized fear.

In her own personal time away from others, Amai can be seen taking a slower pace. Whether it’s the face underneath the mask or just exhausted down-time is not quite certain. However, despite her momentary break in the frenetic day, she takes plenty of time to practice. With a chip on her shoulder, she pushes to prove herself. With this dedication to be better than she can be, she pushes herself too far, and she’ll very likely injure herself through training alone. Randomly, she will have bandages on her body. Most of the time these are just niches and scratches, but her determined nature will drive her beyond her capabilities at times, causing serious injury.

Likes:

  • Sweets and Treats: As her name implies, Amai is a fiend for sweets and treats. Tasting sweetness has a rather profound effect on her emotional and mental states, and it helps calm her immensely, almost to the extent of an addict. While she doesn’t show any other symptoms of addiction, she certainly shows an unhealthy attraction and obsession with anything sweet. She seems to have a limitless supply of treats on her person…

  • Taste of Competition: Amai is a competitive soul. She loves to rise to any challenge, despite any certainty of failure. This “Taste of Competition” can almost be classified as being an adrenaline junkie, but it moreso correlates to her motivation of “Chip on Her Shoulder” since it synergizes with her mental state.

Dislikes:

  • Living Plants: This is a symptom of her fear. Amai dislikes being alone in nature under normal circumstances, but she can calm herself. It’s when plants begin to move that she starts having issues with disgust. Wielding a scythe, she will actively cut down any plant-life that may seem “alive” and moving.

  • Chocolate: Chocolate is offensive. No other explanation is needed. She hates it.

Motivations:

  • Chip on Her Shoulder: Amai wears a spiked shell mentally. Her biggest single motivation is inspired from a response to a developing inferiority complex. Always pegged as the little girl, she thrives on negative vibes. The “You can’t do it” is her chance to prove them wrong. Sticking it to anyone who believes size matters, she forces herself to become faster, stronger… all to show that she isn’t one to be underestimated. When she is underestimated, though, she shines brighter than any star.

Fears:

  • Active Living Plants: This is a direct result of having witnessed her father’s death; her father was eaten alive by a sentient plant. This has caused an innate fear of “living” plants, especially those like Venus fly traps. The sight of them causes her to freeze for a second, and the “fight or flight” response kicks in. Whichever does happen in that case, she goes severely overboard.

  • Story Untold: This fear feeds from Amai’s motivation “Chip on Her Shoulder”. She is always trying to prove she’s stronger than others believe she is. She wants everyone to believe that she’s strong. Thus, she is afraid of dying without having accomplished anything. “Too Young to Die” and “I Can’t Die, Yet” are similar ideas that cause her grief. This isn’t the type of fear that will cause her to freeze in the face of death, but it keeps her up at night, wondering if she’s truly performing to her optimum, grasping every chance she can. It also pushes her more in quite a few situations, feeding from “Chip on Her Shoulder” and its effects. This can affect her everyday life in some scenarios.

Magic

Magic Name: Circuit Magic

Magic Element: Lightning

Magic Description: Circuit Magic is merely an internalized Lightning Magic that focuses on the flow of magic throughout the body. This magic can be channeled for the effective use of Supplementary Magic, perfect for the utilization of a Trickster. While Circuit Magic does have its Offensive and Defensive purposes, it is most effective in nuanced ways to have greater effects. The movement of Circuit Magic within the body can cause attraction or repulsion from merely the movement of electricity through the body. It is also one of the more efficient ways to utilize Self-Speed Buffs while being capable of using an array of Offensive and Defensive Spells. Examples of Offensive Spells are simple shocking spells and bolts fired from the hands. Examples of Defensive Spells are numbed pain and barriers made from Lightning Magic.

History

History:
A rather weak baby was born to the Rinmizukimi family with the name Alice. Pink eyes and hair adorned the small child, a stark contrast to the gold and brown of her sibling. Born a younger sister in every respect of the term, Alice was smaller, weaker, and more fragile than her older sister, Arisa. With short, child-like hair, Alice grew up in the protected world of Galuna Island. With a tight-knit community and thriving nature, it was a beautiful place to live. The culture was kind to young Alice, and she felt at home in such a beautiful land. With paradise surrounded her, she was truly protected from the reality of the world. With her father and mother always caring for her and raising her simply, she developed into a happy young girl.

Alice loved to spend time with Arisa in the lively nature. The thriving plants were all so fascinating, giving inspiration to the young sisters. In due time, Arisa developed a green thumb, magic surging through her. Alice was the first to see such a power, and it was beautiful, complementing the gorgeous landscape around them. Truly, she believed that her sister was blessed, and she could only pray that she would be granted such an ability, as well. A small celebration was held in her family, holding her sister up on a pedestal, a role model for youthful Alice to follow. As the years passed in their youth, Arisa showed Alice all the wonderful things magic could do. Growing plants, making them dance, and even saying hello to the creature-like vegetation were personal experiences that Alice never wanted to forget.

Even the most beautiful petals break from the branch and fall to the dirt.

It was time for yet another day in the paradise, Arisa’s 10th birthday. Alice was still 8 at the time, just over a year younger than her sister. It was another celebration, a slightly grander one for the significance of her sister’s 10th year of paradise. A small banquet was to be held, and there was happiness for their family to have. Joy, laughter, memories all were shared on that day. It was a truly happy day, and Alice watched her sister bloom brightly, shining in the sunlight.
In the middle of their family’s celebration, Arisa found it appropriate to spawn a plant next to the table. She had intended for it to dance just like the others, and at first it did. Her father, however, was not amused, and he took her by the arm and pulled her behind the nearby tree-line for a discussion. As the two disappeared, Alice noticed the once dancing plant on the ground had begun snapping in the direction of where her father and sister went.

Kuriana told Alice to stay in her seat as she went to get a small dessert from inside. At first, Alice nodded and agreed. However, uncertainty and fear had begun rising within her with each angry, desperate snap of the tiny plant, almost seemingly pulling itself from the dirt to get to its creator. Alice looked at the doorway and saw her mother still inside. The child hopped from her seat and walked toward where her father and sister were, hearing the tiny plant snapping behind her. With each and every step, all she could hear was that plant behind her. Despite it being left further and further behind, the snapping sound seemingly grew louder.

Alice did not quite comprehend what came next. A lot happened very quickly. She ran up through the tree-line. Words grew louder, but she still couldn’t see anything. The world seemed to stop for a few minutes. One moment, she thought she saw them together. The next moment, all she could see was her father face as she was cuddled with him next to the window. Everything became blurred together. Past, present, happiness, despair…

Before she knew it, Amai was alone. The young girl saw patches of red dirt on the ground. Her pink eyes rose from the ground, but her body was cold. Something was happening. Something horrific was occurring. She knew not to look up. A voice inside was screaming at her, pleading her not to look up. Her hair was standing on end, and her heart was racing. This event was not supposed to be happening. She knew it was despair. She knew it would hurt. She looked up anyway.

There stared back her father’s eyes. Initially they were at peace, and she wanted to be next to him. However, within that fraction of a second of seeing his warm, welcoming eyes, everything distorted. His hand was mutilated. His jaw was missing. His hair was a bloodied mess. Half of his torso was missing, guts spilling to the ground. Rib chunks were visible. His body was contorted into a mess of limbs.

A large green monster was devouring her father.

Amai couldn’t scream. Her voice was muted, jaw wide aghast. Her fingertips were trembling, twitching uncontrollably. Her eyes were wide with horror. Time had frozen once again; only this time, she wished it could end. The sight of her loving, caring father being eaten was burning itself into her mind, and she could not erase it. It wouldn’t go away. She seemed stuck at this frame in her life. One single picture held her captive. It seemed an eternity before she felt her inside alight with life. Something inside her was churning, giving her energy. She turned and ran. She did not even know to where she was running. She just ran away from such a picture as far as she could. She closed her eyes tight; the picture would not leave her mind. She opened her eyes once more, and yet she was blind to all but the snapshot burned into her memory.

The scream did not leave her throat.

Amai ran and ran, completely unaware to her surroundings, gasping for air, her psyche collapsing her mind completely. When she could finally see anything but that picture, she was in a cold, unfamiliar bed, already 10 years old. She seemingly stopped growing. Robbed of her childhood innocence, she remained short and small of stature, not unlike how she was as a baby. In a rejection of losing her youth, she grew her hair out and tied it up in twin tails, longing to regain the years she lost.

Amai developed a fear of plants. She grew to dislike nature. She took up the scythe. She practiced every day to the point of her fingers bleeding and her legs giving out. Years passed like this, where she would train, eat, train, rest, train, eat, train, and sleep. She felt possessed by the necessity to do these things: reject nature and wielding a scythe. It just…felt right. It made her feel something other than despair. She felt control, and she loved this feeling.

With the passing years, Amai kept to herself. Eventually, she matured into an adult, and yet she remained so short and so youthful-looking. She looked almost the same nearly 10 years ago as she did on her 18th birthday.

Just add that her fear causes a bit of a difference in her everyday life, perhaps she tries a little too hard, etc. The second one, that is. The plant one is fine.

What are some examples of Circuit Magic's offensive and defensive purposes? No need to go too in-depth, just give a general idea of what you'll be doing with those types of spells.
