Roku Gokuto

Personal

Name: Roku Gokuto

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Class: Sorcerer

Rank: D-rank

Guild: Grimoire Heart

Tattoo: Base of his neck

Face: Gintama, Gintoki Sakata

Appearance

Height: 6'3

Weight: 186lbs

Hair: Silver

Eyes: Brown

Overall: Roku is covered by the mistakes of his past. His chest, back, legs and arms are scatted with scars from his life. His skin bares hardly a blemish outside these wounds from older times, his hair almost as disheveled as his personality.

His eyes are cold, often even when his face shows emotion to the contrary. His body is lean and fit, likely due more to the lifestyle he has lived more than any actual training towards it. His clothing consists of a black and white robe, the sleeves fitting tightly along his arm as to not restrict movement. The cloth itself is made out of a unique material, which both hugs close to his body as well as allowing him to twist and turn without hindrance. Beneath this robe lies a pair of white and black pants that fit tightly to his ankle and waist, allowing for a snug fit that doesn't restrict flexibility or use.

Extra: Scars all over his body.

Personality

Personality:  Roku Gokuto is a broken man, held together by the jagged edges of his old life. When he was younger, Roku Gokuto was an upbeat and happy individual. He enjoyed the simpler things in life, such as relaxing with his family and friends, or going out on hikes to new locations. He enjoyed being able to take in the smell of nature and to bask within the glory of the day. Every day brought new adventure. Every person brought new mystery, and he was never truly bored.

To find a simply location for his mental break would be a cliche that was sadly not found in his life. It would have been much more straight forward if something traumatic had caused him to have a psychotic episode. For reasons that would be better delved into with his history, Roku Gokuto had a dramatic change shortly before his eighteenth birthday. His mind fractured, and with it his sanity.

He now finds joy in pain, both to himself and others. This was not to say that he intentionally caused himself harm, but rather he reveled in the feeling of what others dealt to him. It made him feel alive.

The joy that was to be found in hurting others was another thing entirely. It was euphoric, a knowledge that he held a sort of power over those around him. It was also more than that though. It permitted him to take out the stress that formed so quickly between the shattered parts. He normally seemed like an upbeat guy, outgoing and fun. He could joke, laugh, and have fun. Sadly, he could just as easily twist to a darker side. His same personality was there, but now with a crazed blood lust that drove him into a frenzy. Having gotten to the point where he no longer even sees anything wrong it it, it's hard to tell whether or not he is still crazy at all.

His exception to this rule are animals and children. He's crazy, but he's not evil. Those two categories are safe from his rage, regardless of reason. Animals, to him, include house pets and wild creatures who'd rather avoid confrontation. Children include anyone who appears to be fifteen and under, whom he will merely knock unconscious and leave them alive.

Likes:

  • Pain: Pain is life. A depressing concept that was regurgitated by philosophers throughout the years. For him, it held a deep level of truth to it. It allowed him to both feel his life and impose his life on others.

  • Animals: The innocent kind, or the kind who weren't so innocent but still liked him. If you asked him, he couldn't put it into words. How could a broken man understand that these lovable little creatures allowed him to still feel slightly attached to reality?

Dislikes:

  • Harming Animals or Children: To an extent, Roku knows he's insane. He's a psychotic bastard. Even he wouldn't harm those signs of innocence. This is enough to drive him to turn on his allies.

  • Pathetic People: Weak. Spineless. People who had some sort of power, authority, or ability to invoke change or difference in their environment but refused. They had no right to complain, and yet they did anyways. It sickened him.

Motivations:

  • Life: Even this is far fetched. He doesn't have motivation. He just does what he wants to do at the time. This might be more aptly called "spontaneity", but there was likely some sort of method to his madness that even he didn't know. Maybe it was just the aspect of life, and this was his?

Fears:

  • Losing his Tongue: It's oddly specific, isn't it? Regardless, it's his fear. He likes speaking. Talking is fun. If he loses his tongue, how can he speak? Common sense really.

  • Portable Bathrooms: He once bumped into a portable bathroom while hammered. It tipped over, covering the occupant with feces and liquid excrement. The smell... The look. The vomit. It was disgusting, and made him realize it could easily happen to him. Never again.

Magic

Magic Name: Blood Manipulation

Magic Element: N/A

Magic Description:  Roku can manipulate the blood from his own body, as well as blood that has been spilled during combat. Blood that is still on an enemy cannot be manipulated indirectly, as the aura that people with mana emit will cancel out his techniques from a distance. If he comes into physical contact with the blood on an enemy, it will allow him to manipulate that as well.

That said, most of his techniques come from his actual body. These techniques vary in uses, capable of Offence, Defence, Supplementary, and Self Buffing. His magic is both versatile and perfectly fitting for his personality.

History

History: Roku was a perfectly normal child. He had a loving mother, a supportive father, as well as two older brothers. They fought and bullied each other, as brothers did, but it was always in good fun. The family got along for the most part and everyone seemed to be content with what they had.

Roku grew up going to a local school and attending the local church. He'd go with his family twice a week, and he'd stay after school whenever possible. He participated in sports, in which he excelled, and found himself as a well liked member of the class. Having started school slightly early, he found himself also finishing with school slightly early. As he approached his eighteenth birthday, he was no longer held to the confines of public education. He and his friends decided it would be best to celebrate the occasion, and decided to go West where they could party.

This turned to be a defining moment in his life. He wasn't sure what happened, and even now when he recalls the details they seem to shift every time. He was around a campfire, drinking with his friends and laughing. Then he was on the ground, next to the embers and fazing in and out of consciousness. Soon he sat up to fire and noise, as well as a burning sensation in his left eye. This was caused by the blood of his friend, Inari, splattered upon his face. He hardly had time to scream before he felt a sharp pain in the side of his head, and he was unconscious.

The next few days, while they weren't repressed, certainly should be. He was tortured, beaten, and left for dead. There was no rhyme or reason, nor did they hope to gain anything out of it. They simply enjoyed having someone to toy with. They'd kept him up for the last two days straight, which only weakened his already bruised and battered psyche. He found himself shattered, at a loss for what happened or why.

He became lost, circling the same area until he finally ran across a familiar sight. The den of those who had taken them. He knew very little magic, and even so the magic seemed worthless for fighting... But he had to try.

The details will be spared, but that was the beginning of the descent into madness. Killing those who had wronged him felt wonderful, beyond simply justice. Before long, he found himself killing others. At times there was even temptation to take out the pain he had felt on them. Still, he there was evidence of the boy that once was. Maybe the day would come when his mind pieced itself back together.

Or not.
