A sudden voice called out to him, forcing the Fire Dragon Slayer to turn around and see who it belonged to - it was a man who was considered a veteran of the Fairy Tail guild, a person who had long since reached his limit and potential as a mage and who now made his living by doing less strenuous jobs, primarily in the Magnolia area. He was from a completely different generation from Houren, and the Fire Dragon Slayer was sad to say that he had never seen this man in action in his prime but all those who knew him knew him to be a formidable fighter in his days. They weren't exactly close, but it was clear that this veteran had been keeping tabs on Houren's progress, and from the fact that he happened to be at this impromptu party for the aspiring mages, he was keeping tabs on some of them as well.
"That was years ago. It's not really worth mentioning now," Houren shrugged, taking a seat and looking around the guildhall. He didn't think there was any big standouts in this batch of mages, and he had a good idea to string up whoever thought holding a party for journeymen was a bad idea, but he couldn't complain; here in Fairy Tail, they'd give you a party if they saw you give loose change to a beggar. That was just the type of environment this guild was, and people seemed to enjoying these kind of parties, so who was he to complain? Houren wasn't a big fan of parties, but he'd be damned before he let a rowdy bunch force him out of his guildhall.

Then, Aniz sits in the corner but want to get out of it but, can't go because of that Blue Haired guy. Aniz see's everyone is work hard for the party so it could be so awesome. Aniz see's all the new members are already making new friends but Aniz don't have a single one who he could call a friend. Aniz was trying to get a little nap till the party start's but was not able to take a nap because of the noise made by the members of the guild.

It wasn't a case of sour grapes or anything on Houren's part, and just a little bit deeper down, he was probably very happy for the members of the guild who had just received so called 'promotions', since they were all technically his juniors. At the same time though, a lack of interpersonal relationships with any of the newly striped mages made this occasion fairly dull for the Fire Dragon Slayer, who found that he was simply surrounded by initiates. He had stayed in the guildhall as a matter of principle, but once the party really got swinging, he'd probably be at a lost for what to do. After all, he wasn't a parent, sibling or even friend of anyone here, so he would definitely feel out of place in the celebrations that would surely begin soon.
It was a great shame, but Magnolia was a big place so there would be plenty of spots where he could hang out in. He'd let these guys take the guildhall from him for now, and let them have their little party, and he could just come back later. That seemed like the easiest thing to do, and thinking that to himself, Houren stood up, brushed the dust off his legs and headed for the exit, only to find his shirt being tugged by the aforementioned veteran, asking in a low voice for him to say.
Houren exchanged a glance with the veteran, and remembering that he was supposed to respect his elders regardless of their status, the Fire Dragon Slayer murmured something under his breath and sat back down, grumbling sweet nothings.

The Fire Dragon Slayer said this, slapping his knees immediately and standing up. "Congratulations to everyone, really, but my thighs are starting to get tight. I think I'm out of touch," the Fairy Tail mage, sending a grin in the direction of anyone who was bothered enough to turn towards his direction. He could see that the veteran wanted to say something, and if he did, then he very well might have been able to guilt the Fire Dragon Slayer into staying at this party, but he ultimately stayed quiet, something for which Houren would be eternally grateful. Since the Fire Dragon Slayer wasn't particularly close to anyone in the guildhall at that time, he didn't feel the immediate need to say goodbye to anyone with the exception of the veteran; allowing a sightly bow for the elder, the Fire Dragon Slayer headed out of the exit and went straight for the forest where he could train in peace. He had been away for a long time, too long in fact, and he was afraid that if he didn't do something about it soon, his skills would turn to rust. He couldn't let that happen.
