The first mission proved pretty easy for her, but then again, Alisa had outgrown missions such as these many months ago, possible years. She could benefit from experience gained doing them, but whatever enemies she had to face hardly even qualified as playing around, let alone a proper threat. It's alright though, she never expected to gain combat experience like she would from fighting Finn than by doing D and C-rank level missions. The money wasn't too shabby for how quickly she could clear them, while the wisdom and connections gained could just as easily last forever. This had been one of the most effective training regimens she'd undergone as of late, and so far nothing could change it.

Finishing the first mission of the day, Alisa stopped at nearby café to get her caffeine fix, the perfect excuse to do so as she looked for other jobs on the newspaper. Might as well start from by doing all the lowest ranks she could find: She could do several of those in a single day, and she did them far faster by herself than she ever could with a partner. But in the process of going around the Capital looking for word, she'd likely run into one or another of her friends, someone who could join her for one of the higher ranked jobs, some of the few she'd actually finish faster with a partner.

"So, Lumen, let's see what we have here, shall we...?", she thought out loud to her silent partner who seemed more focused on her macarons than Alisa herself, who simply sipped her latte and crossed her legs, flipping through the newspaper until finally reaching the page she was looking for.

Indeed, D-rank missions were a dime and dozen, she had quite a few at her disposal, each easier than the last one. Some of them - such as the restaurant job - all but required her to go there at the appropriate time. Whereas others had no obvious time frame, and she could finish them whenever she felt like it. One in particular stood out this time not for its simplicity, but rather its proximity. Looking around as if to remind herself this café was indeed in the Crocus gardens, Alisa figured she could take care of this one very quickly, maybe even have time for another before lunch time.

Oh, how wrong she was... Once she took a good look at the job description, her brow furrowed and she understood this could easily turn into the most troublesome of all the D-ranks she had available. Someone had actually gone and lost a prized, precious source somewhere in the gardens. With her next job in mind, the sculptress finished and paid for her latte, before standing up and running her hands down her body, smoothing out Junketsu, and began the next job. Hmmm, so the sword had to be around here somewhere...

"Sounds like looking for a needle in a haystack... It appears we'll be here for a little while Lumen.", noted Alisa, calmly ignoring the impending boredom, looking around and sighing as a gust of wind whipped her hair and skirt around.

She couldn't exactly say she was fond of idly looking for random objects. Thankfully the request gave a rather useful description of the item, but no useful clue as to its location other than the very vague "somewhere in the garden"; then, if he could have found it easily, the client might not have needed to pay a traveling mage to do the boring part of the job.

She even considered using her Geomancy, but the detail wasn't nearly so sharp when looking for still objects... No, she'd be better off looking for the piece of metal as it beamed off the sun's rays, likely alerting to this position. She got lucky though... After spending the better part of an hour looking around, a low growl drew her attention towards a nearby brush. Peeking over it, she found a dog eagerly chewing on the handle of a sword. It noticed her easily, and for a couple of seconds, surprised dog and woman merely looked each other in the eyes, somewhat guiltily on the dog's part.

And then, it ran off, as if the devil himself were chasing its tail.

For all her speed, a four legged creature had an inherent advantage and this pursuit could easily turn troublesome. But rather than run around in circles hopping over bushes or wherever else the dog chose to run, Alisa merely opened her palm. Our of nowhere, crystalline formations erupted in front of the dog in a wedge shape, the tip of said wedge pointing away from the dog and thus trapping him inside it. Sure, it could always turn tail and run the other way, but at that point the sculptress was already on it, blocking the exit while Lumen also pressed in. Between the two of them, they formed a rather uncrossable barrier, boxing the dog until it finally yielded.

The mutt whimpered, and Alisa simply sighed, a soft but almost compassionate scolding tone, "Come on, don't give me that look.", she wouldn't beat up a helpless dog, and instead stretched out her hand, "Give it up."

Not for the dog to try and shake it, but a simple request he understood quickly enough. With yet another saddened whimper, the dog finally loosened his maw and surrendered the blade at Alisa's feet.

"Good boy~", said the sculptress, reaching down to grab the sword as Lumen too crouched and pet its head. Clearly head pats were the best remedy for its sadness as it barked and licked Lumen's hand. For once, the sculptress almost felt bad for taking away the mutt's chew toy

With this out of the way, all they had left to do was go meet the client for the first time today, a rather young military guy named Armin, who looked rather relieved to see his sword back:

"There you go. A dog grew attached to your sword as a chew toy."

Alas, this relief lasted little: "M-my grandpa's sword... A chew toy?!"

He did pay her though, so apparently the sword still had all that sentimental value despite a dog having a bone to pick with it.
