It appeared the first contest of the festival had finally arrived, and judging from the large crowd that had gathered it was clear that people's attention had been drawn toward the large lake the event was held at. Fishing was quite an interesting choice for a contest really, However, the lass had to admit that she had not too much confidence in fishing. After all, she had only fished once with Fenrir, and back then she had only caught a freaking giant's boot! As she received her fishing rod at the start of the event the lass made her way along the edge of the lake, trying to figure out a good fishing spot to catch her prey.
"Umm how exactly would this work?" the lass inquired as Sebastian raised a hand to his chin. "Young master, do you wish for me to get a guide to fishing?"
The girl raised a hand to her cheek, cupping it lightly while she mused out loud. "I'm not sure Sebastian, perhaps this is something where beginner luck applies?" A soft snicker followed by the demon lord within her as Sebastian was subtly stashing the book he had prepared back away while Esperia reached the shade of a nearby tree, placing the bucket near the water and after pulling back her rod thought for a moment.
Fishing was a matter of patience, discipline, and luck! But did she truly have the first two? She did secretly practice her patience and discipline when it came to temptations for the sake of her loyalty toward her fiance, but did the same apply to fishing?
Perhaps it was all just a matter of luck then? Nonetheless, as she was moving around the fishing spot she could already spot a few familiar faces, a sheepish grin emerging on her lips. She wasn't going to lose that easily!

This close to the inn... Alisa hadn't planned for anything like this, as one might tell from her outfit; a loose, flowing blue Kimono better suited to walking around indoors than any outdoors festival. But though she pulled it off like the most natural thing in the word, the sun shining overhead still got the better of her, leaving her fanning herself more often then not. In the end, Alisa went with the flow like a leaf in the wind; whenever it suited, and she actually enjoyed fishing even if she so rarely did it. At a beautiful setting like this, she could thoroughly take in the surrounding landscape in all its blooming glory.
"Oh...? Good afternoon Espy~", greeted the crystal mage, approaching her cute little junior with a graceful stride, tugging her loose Kimono a bit further up her shoulder. If she won this fishing contest, she'd defenitely wouldn't have any excused from the perverted take over user: She'd defenitely use the tall woman's cleavage as such...
Though she had a fairly good reason for it, not to mention she looked truly adorable all blushing and pouting. Of course, no amount of cuteness could ever prompt even a sexually confident artist to betray her ideals of elegance, and let her already daunting cleavage to widen beyond the treshold of decency.
"So...? Catch anything yet?", she'd ask, walking over to an idle fishing rod, picking it up, then taking a seat on a mossy, surprisingly comfy looking rock

Her eyes still fastened onto the lines engraved onto the book, she waited for the contest to begin. People were beginning to arrive to the location of the competition, but the frosty mage didn’t bother to acknowledge the presence of her rivals around her, nor did she find the need to. After a moment, she’d tip her straw beach hat slightly upwards and much to her surprise, she spotted two familiar figures in a short distance. She hadn’t expected to see anyone she knew of, but somehow, it was good to have a few acquaintances engaging in the same activity. The woman would throw a quick wave in their direction, without not so much saying a word. Perhaps it was just coincidence, albeit, she came to realise how Alisa and herself always end up in the same competition, even in the Pegasus Beach event.

As if the day couldn’t get any worse, when Haru finally reached the central fishing zone, the over-enthusiastic organizer there asked if he was there to participate in the contest. Now people are competing on who killed the most fishes? he wondered, frowning at the idea. “No! I’m not fond of taking lives. Just here to make sure everything goes smoothly,” he said, shaking his head. The organizer realized he was a Rune Knight and snickered, muttering something about how his faction and its members are incompetent, and he was only shying away from the contest because he knew there was no way he could catch even a single fish.
That mockery was enough of a trigger for Haru. “What did you say?” he asked, raising his voice, not caring that he might be attracting unnecessary attention to himself in the otherwise peaceful area; probably making Akira uncomfortable, as he always did. “We’ll show you,” he said, pulling the sign-up list the organizer had and adding both his and Akira’s names to it. The healer kept his eyes fixed at the shocked organizer’s as he picked up a set of fishing equipment and then stormed towards the water.
Realizing there were a few young ladies there whose peace he might have rattled for a brief moment, Haru’s frown immediately turned into an awkward apologetic smile. He then walked towards a pair of flat and short rocks at the edge of the water to get set up. While his determination to prove the organizer wrong had given him the courage to try something completely new, it obviously did not give him the knowledge on how to. So, the clueless young Knight sat there holding the rod in one hand and the hook in the other, unsure how to link the two. Turning towards Akira, he smiled sheepishly. “I hope you know how to do this,” he said, hoping beyond hope.
Sat May 26, 2018 10:19 am
She practically read the healer's mind or rather made fairly accurate deductions based on the way he walked around slumped like someone had left an invisible burden on his shoulders. They'd been together long enough for her to occasionally be able to read him like a book. She sighed softly and refrained from rolling her eyes, no... Akira had slowly taught herself to be a little more empathetic to her partner's causes. 'Yep, already checked the list, I'm right there, or I would've definitely covered for you.' she said, voicing her words based on her assumption. Tsuru had made his aversion to dead creatures fairly clear, and the Shimada was sure that he didn't want to be here monitoring the contest at all. 'But think about it, how often do we get stationed separately anyways.' she added with a shrug. Akira wasn't complaining, or at least wasn't complaining anymore, it was quite apparent that the two were quite fond of each other, despite their rocky start.
She sauntered through the gathering crowd towards the azure stream, yawning and stretching her arms overhead as she did so. Another day, another patrol... At least this time she was watching over a contest, it felt a little more important than just strolling around between the stalls and the tents. The lunar mage wondered what it would entail and would it be her responsibility to make sure people were fair and not resorting to any sneaky methods of winning, that would prove to be quite a task considering the number of magic users present in their midst. Nonetheless, she scanned the banks for any familiar faces that may be present in the zone she was assigned, meanwhile unbeknownst to her Tsuru had signed her up for the contest as well. 'You hope I what?' she said, widening her eyes. 'You signed me up, didn't you?!' she grunted, then sighed as she shrugged and simply accepted her fate, there was really no point in being surprised, he was often guilty of doing this.
Soon, she noticed Alisa, garbed in an airy kimono much like Akira, although the lady wore it with much elan in comparison. It made sense to use this as an excuse to catch up, she rarely approached people, but Alisa had an intriguing quality about her and for the most part, she was among the few who had never judged Akira based off appearances and assumptions. 'I only know the theory, but she might be able to help.' Aki finally responded as she angled her head towards the Blue Pegasus mage and snatched her own rod from the poor man who was tasked with distributing them.
'You're competing too?' she asked as she unintentionally snuck up behind the woman perched on the mossy rock. Her eyes fell on to the other young lady, she had seen a fleeting glimpse of that face before, but she couldn't recall where. 'Alisa, Tsuru. Tsuru, Alisa.' she introduced them to each other before adding 'Mind if we join you two? Neither of us have fished before...' Akira folded the edges of her light pink attire over the front as she prepared herself to sit, but still waited for confirmation that it was ok. Aki hoped Alisa didn't actually refuse to help. The young Knight had always pegged the woman to be competitive, but she also seemed like the sort who would like to keep things fair. After all, it'd only truly be fun if the contenders knew what they're doing. 'Oh and I'm Akira, you are?' she said, her gaze now pinned on the woman she didn't know, unfortunately while one had held the fabric, the other held the rod, so she couldn't extend a formal proper greeting.
Sat May 26, 2018 10:37 am
It didn't take long for the young Eisenberg to stumble onto a familiar face, lifting her gaze away from the water toward the one who had addressed her. The mere sight of the cause of the disruption brought a smile to the obsidian-haired trickster's lips, for it was none other than Alisa. "Good afternoon Ali~" She made a playful wave with her free hand while watching Sebastian bow politely into Alisa's direction before the girl looked around and hummed softly. "Oho~ I see that your stalker isn't here today," Esperia stated with a grin, to be honest, she was mildly surprised that Liana was not here, considering her childhood friend's personal interests, and then there was the matter of... "Neither is Lumy? Afraid she might eat the fish you catch?"
Yet as she was asked about her catch the girl shook her head gently and clarified further. "It's been ages since I fished, my sister used to be great at it. However, last time I tried my hand at it all I caught was a giant's boot.." the girl lamented before adding with a more cheerful tone. "But Asmodeus said she will help if I things don't go well. According to her, she is a pro at luring and catching. Makes me wonder if they actually fish in the Abyss..."
And it seemed Alisa wasn't the only familiar face, a hand raised to wave eagerly at the nearby Snow when all of a sudden her attention was drawn elsewhere.
An unfamiliar duo approached them, and after listening to their introductions she made a playful wave with her hand in a greeting. "Esperia~ And I don't know if I'm going to be lucky, or unfortunate today. Now I think about it, I should have asked Fia for some lessons..."
Surely Fia knew her way around with a rod, right? Considering the children at the Barone orphanage she wouldn't be surprised! "If only the fishies caught the bait as quickly as my fiance did, but then again perhaps it's a good thing Fia got appointed to another group, I'd be way too distracted!" the girl exclaimed with a pout while looking at the water.
"I heard this part before, one of Fia's siblings told me how to handle this part..."
Steadying herself she angled her rod and exclaimed excitedly
"Secret Barone technique: UNLIMITED FISHING WORKS!"
As if she had just unleashed a magical spell the girl tossed the line into the water, eagerly waiting to see what sort of fish she would catch today...
Meanwhile, Asmodeus was humming along in amusement at the girl's energetic display, and then she leaned closer to the water, seemingly wanting to figure out what type of fish would be awaiting beneath the water. Would they win? Or perhaps they would get some delicious fish sticks tonight! A hand raised to her cheek as she turned her gaze from Esperia toward the fishing rod and exclaimed excitedly. "It's stirring Espy! It's stirring! Grab it by the base and pull it up firmly!"
Esperia's cheeks flushed up lightly as she exclaimed in protest. "Don't make it sound so perverted Asmodeus!" But as she pulled along the fishing rod Asmodeus snickered mischievously, declaring in amusement. "But my dear, how can you expect the Demon Lord of Perverts not to say something perverted when you're fishing?"

"Ufufu~ You have nothing to feel jealous of, after all, you're going to be married soon~", Alisa teased the little pervert in return, hoping the day may come when she could talk about Liana without all of that resentment. With Fia's help, she'd been making a steady progress, but Alisa knew not if the two sisters remained estranged. Her words on Lumen quickly distracted the woman, glancing upwards as she mused with a hint of gleeful delight, "Knowing her, she'd get bored and find herself something else to do... Long before we'd even catch a single fish~"
Not long after she'd sat down, Alisa soon spotted her guild master, secluded from the rest far more so than Alisa who simply took her place on a lone rock. Guess she was the most aloof among the two of them, but then again, such notions easily flutuate with each of their mood. She'd talk to her after the contest, surely, but at this point Alisa had fishes to catch, and merely smiled and waved.
"Was it that obvious~...?", replied Alisa, chuckling grecefully as she idly shifted her fishing rod around, "Lovely seeing you here Akira. You're welcome to join us, but, you don't tell me you had a boyfriend~", Alisa's faint smile became a playful smirk as she shifted her gaze to the man introduced as Tsuru, cooly looking him over as that hand came to rest on her hip.
Well, she had good taste, defenitely. Once she finishing teasing Akira would Alisa finally shine that beaming faint smile in greeting proper:
"Pleasure to meet you, Tsuru~ Mind you, I haven't fished that much either, though its easy once you get used to a couple of basics...", that almost humbled, apologetic rub of her neck made it quite clear. As Alisa's eyes trailed off into the lake, she obviously didn't feel qualified to teach anybody how to fish. She could give a few pointers here and there, but most of all, she could mostly just help one figure out what Not to do. And Esperia portrayed a perfect example, getting a hearty, girly giggle from the tall sculptress, "My, my, Espy~.... If you shout so much you'll scare away the fish.", with this, she turned aside to look at the two knights, casting her own line, "And that's rule number one~"
Alisa felt no need for magic, spells, tricks, or anything of the sort. In this battle of patience between men and fishes, Alisa did nothing but wait and occasionally rely on one or another technique. Every so often, she'd wriggle the rod around, pull it out, and finally recast. These occasional, intermittent motions had a very obvious intention of exciting the fish and drawing their attention, enticing them towards potential prey instead of simply awaiting for them to bite an immobile lure.
"Let me guess, she just made a witty remark on grabbing rods~?", quipped the sculptress, narrowing her eyes as she carefully watched the smaller girl's efforts to reel in the fish. Alisa had all but leaned back lazily on her spot, nestling her rod inside a nook in the stone as opposed to grabbing it the whole time. While enjoying that gentle breeze against her cheek like a lover's caress, soothing away the worst of the heat, she yet kept her eyes peeled, and when the rod stirred she was ready, "Oho...? Quicker than I expected~"

As much as she would have loved to win the contest, the reason for her appearance at the location was simply just to have fun and see what the rave was about. Like the other competitors, she’d toss her rod into the water and waited…waited just to get a simple tug on her rod. Fishing required patience, that she knew—being a restless person, she needed something else to keep her focused other than waiting for God knows how long for the bait to attract the fish.
”Good luck,” said the man who seated beside her.
Her mind was just beginning to wander off, until his voice reached her head and she’d turn her gaze towards him. Just an ordinary young man, greeting her with a gentle smile and a reassuring voice, in which she’d unintentionally return him a cold stare. It wasn’t her aim to be harsh to people whom she was unfamiliar with, but simply, it was her nature to have an unapproachable demeanour. ”Thank you. You too,” replied the ice mage, her tone as icy as the wind that blew through the north. She’d shift her attention back towards the horizon, hoping that the person wouldn’t be offended by her dull communication skills—not that it bothered her much.

The conversation moved onto more introductions quickly and the healer was extremely grateful for it. “The pleasure is all mine,” he said to Alisa before the duo’s attention was turned towards the other Blue Pegasus mage next to Alisa. Haru had seen her before, but wasn’t really sure where exactly; that was until the one who introduced herself as Esperia began talking about Fia. It struck him then. He had seen her at the wedding besides the Titan magic user. “Oh! You are Fia’s fiancée, right? We are colleagues of her. Lovely to finally see you in person. Congratulations!” he said, smiling widely. He thought he would get to see Fia’s spouse only at the wedding, from afar, just like it happened with Alice. He was glad he got to meet Esperia in a much less formal setting.
Once the others began preparing their rods for fishing, Haru followed them, step by step. He tied the hook onto the rod, placed the bait, flung the line in and sat back like the others did. However, he lacked the patience for the act of fishing. Every minute he didn’t catch something, he would change the position. The healer was really desperate to show the organizer that he could catch fish too. And when he finally did catch something, he would simply show it off and release the fish back into the water. As he waited to catch more, he heard Esperia mention someone called Asmodeus. Having no knowledge of any of the devils, he asked curiously, “Who is Asmodeus?”

The other woman, went by the name Esperia and seemed to be relying more on luck than on skill. The mention of Fia and Barone though piqued Akira's interest. She now recalled where she'd seen the woman... It was at the wedding. As she sat herself down on a bed of rocks that stood along the bank, she followed the actions the others made, wedging her bait onto the hook and flinging the line into the lake. As they waited, the lunar mage mentally debated whether she should confirm if this Esperia woman was indeed the one she'd seen with the titan... Especially now that the fellow Knight, or rather, soon to be ex-knight, had been mentioned... it had to be the case. Aki chewed on her lip meanwhile Tsuru seemed to have picked up on the same clues and had deemed them enough to reach a conclusion. So congratulations were in order. The teen smiled and echoed the congratulations too. Hopefully, she was successful in keeping out the slight bitterness in her voice at having lost the Barone, presumably to this romantic endeavor.
She had more questions about Fia's future plans, just out of curiosity, but much like everything else, she kept it to herself and she tried to focus on the task at hand. When Esperia exclaimed, the young girl couldn't help but frown just a little. The quick correction Alisa offered swiftly put the young girl at ease again, she nodded sagely at the advice offered, but didn't see the need to add any more words of warning. For the most part, while Akira had slowly plucked up the social skills to not be too awkward and learn to greet people she knew even if it meant going out of her way sometimes, she still wasn't too great at conversing if there were more than a couple of people around. So relying on the silence it took to succeed at this game of fishing, was ideal.
Once again, when another name was thrown around, Aki felt the crippling need to know more, especially since Alisa seemed in on it too, but she intently stared at the fishing stick instead. Once again, it was Tsuru who popped the question. It was strange how Akira's late night walks and random chance encounters had gotten her acquainted with more people than the healer, but he still had an advantage within the social framework. She peeked up as she waited for an answer, to the question her partner asked. Just then she felt a tug on her own rod. 'Oh! I think I got one too, looks like there is a host of them around...' Briefly, there was panic, she blanked on what she should be doing, but a quick glance around her was enough to get her back on track. 'Guess its time to reel it in...' she confirmed, sucking her lower lip between her teeth as she rotated little lever as fast as she could.

"I'm not jealous!" The girl exclaimed in embarrassment, her cheeks flushing up lightly as she shook her head in denial to the statement. Fortunately Fia had helped her distract from the more unpleasant emotions she had once felt, and then, later on, she finally mended her relationship with Liana, although it had taken time and a lot of talking. However, Esperia had come to terms with the fact it was no longer her right to be jealous or upset about what Liana did or with who she did it, not when she had a wonderful fiance like Fia that she was about to get married. "I was just genuinely curious about her absence~" Esperia explained further as she noticed Akira's boyfriend had joined them, her eyes widening in surprise. Were they colleagues of Fia? That meant they were Rune Knights? After a moment her gaze softened as she smiled bashfully at him, answering with a cheerful. "Thank you~"
However, she couldn't help but ponder for a moment. "I recall Fia mentioning before that she made some friends~ I'm glad that she found some reliable companions among the Rune Knights." She paused for a moment while thinking on how to best phrase the next part. "Please don't think badly of her decision to leave the knights, after the events that unfolded in Oak it was quite... a difficult situation for the two of us. Being unable to be at her side when it mattered the most. I was also in Oak when the siege happened, but the knights forbid me from lending my support... So if you were ever to feel the need to blame anyone for the decision, please blame my selfishness for not wanting to be apart from my lover."
She bowed her head lightly in an apology, but the subject soon turned toward the presence of Asmodeus, making the girl tilt her head lightly to the side in confusion. "She is a benefactor of some sort~ Although if I were to be entirely honest, you could say the soul of the Demon Lord of Lust slumbers within me."
Yet as she watched the other contestants their catch so far Esperia became quite certain that she was at a disadvantage. "Puuh~ I'm feeling like the fish I'm catching are somewhat tiny... but I can't disappoint Fia..." a soft mumble followed as she nodded her head lightly to herself as if she confirmed something. "I'll let you two meet her~" The girl answered with a sheepish smile as she brought a hand to her chest and inhaled deeply. "Luxuria~"
All of a sudden a torrent of pitch-black mana erupted from her body, coiling around her as it started to mold together into the shape of a cocoon, the fishing rod dangling up and down in mid-air as the cocoon finally shattered to reveal the obsidian-haired demoness holding one hand onto the fishing rod while the other made a playful wave at the couple.
"A pleasant afternoon to the two of you, Aki and Tsu~ As Espy was so kind to tell earlier: My name is Asmodeus, although the title might differ depending on who you ask... Demon Lord of Lust~ Demon Lord of Perverts~ So many ways to describe me, right Ali?"
The demon lord said with a playful wink at Alisa's direction. before turning her attention back toward the couple. "I'd absolutely love to get to know the two of you better~ However, I can't figure out who among you two would be most endearing to tease. You know what they say: Playing with two is more fun than playing by yourself, but if a third one gets involved: things can get 'messy'~"
A playful poke of her tongue followed as she turned her gaze toward the butler at her side. "Sebastian, can you hold the rod for a moment?" Upon which the butler made a light bow and answered her politely. "As you wish master." Asmodeus was quick to take the opportunity to stretch both her arms up into the air and grin mischievously at Alisa. "Still~ all this fishing, I'd imagine you catching so much Alisa, perhaps even a demon lord or two~"
A soft snicker escaped her lips before she raised her hand and waved toward Snowflake, exclaiming out loud. "Ooooy~ Snow~ Don't be a stranger and join us for a bit will you? Fishing is a lot more fun when you do it with friends~ And our dearest Esperia certainly considers you one."
Nonetheless, as her gaze settled onto the fishing rod she grasped a gentle hold of the rod and mused softly. "I hope this is somewhat similar to how fishing goes in the abyss."
A gentle shift of her hand caused the line to sink further away into the lake while she mused softly. "I wonder if they have anything special in there... like a Kraken, or a sea wyvern... Maybe an Abyssal Octopus?" Her gaze shifted toward Alisa as she mused softly.
"I wouldn't mind seeing an Abyssal Octopus playing in the lake~ Especially since that usually becomes quite an entertaining spectacle. However, since I promised to behave..." Feeling a light tug against the rod she grasped a hand gently at the base and whispered softly. "Hush now~ Just relax..." A hand trailed upwards along the handle of the rod as her tone softened to an entrancing sweetness. "Just give in to the temptation, and leave everything to me~"
As if to answer her the fishing rod suddenly started to calm down in the violent tugging and while she reeled in her catch she hummed softly. "Wonder if this means Espy and Fia will be eating fish sticks tonight~"

Indeed, Alisa hadn't the chance to go over and meet Snow, not with the contest soon to commence. No matter, she'd go over and catch up with her right afterwards, but for now, the people around her gave her a treasure trove of entertainment. That look of them, their cheeks reddening almost in unison: That look of the two not-yet-lovers got a giggle out of the graceful sculptress far too easily, understandably so as Tsuru in particular looked as if he wasnted to say the exact opposite.
From what Alisa could see, he probably could and get a positive response in return... As much as Alisa wanted to tease them a bit more, she held her peace; after all, she'd come here to play fisherman, not cupid.
Plus, Fia and Espy already kept her plenty entertained, even when she only had one half of the couple nearby. While overhearing the latter's conversation with the former's former colleagues, Alisa had little interest in eavesdropping, despite the nudging curiosity. Thus, she took this chance to whip the rod around and eventually reeled in her fist fish... Only to find it much too small, so much it hardly put up a fight:
"Well, this will get me nowhere...", she sighed, but nonetheless cast her line again, already baiting the next fish. Hopefully she'd get something bigger, something to show for. Meanwhile, Espy decided she wanted to show off something else entirely, her demonic transformation into the demon lord of Lust. Alisa scarcely paid it that much attention, or at least, it seemed like she wasn't paying attention,"Surely either of those monickers already describe you well enough~"
Asmodeus' presence defenitely kept her entertained though, lightening the mood away from the competitive spirit that might otherwise settle. She didn't even mind the girl's attempts at distracting her; the sculptress knew she couldn't help it. Asmodeus always had but one thing on her mind all the time, she couldn't exactly fight her own nature now, could she~?
"Ufufu... Of course you'd be good at fishing~", Alisa couldn't but tease the demonic seductress, whose ability to influence nature was already known to her, and perhaps anybody else who studied merely a fair bit of demonology. Her domain over carnal pleasures naturally gave way to a refined influence over all things living, as she so eagerly proved, "Though that feels somewhat unsportsmanlike, does it not?"
Or so she said, but the crystal mage seemed to have little to no luck at all on her end. Most of the fishes she reeled in weighed next to nothing, she doubted they'd ever add up to any decent score when all was said and done. But Alisa knew when she needed a new approach, something this particular situation quite obviously clamored for.
While she didn't take this contest quite as seriously as Akira might have thought, the proud sculptress really hated losing. Even when all participants were evenly skilled and the outcome required more luck than anything else, she defenitely had no intention of throwing in the towel, even with Asmodeus providing ample amusement...

Not long after, Snowflake received a tug on her rod, in which she immediately scrambled to her knees to reel the rod in. It seemed that the other contestants had caught some for their own as well, though she wondered what might be considered as ‘winning’ in this contest. Perhaps the one who gets the biggest fish is the one who’ll be rewarded the prize, she assumed. Speaking of which, the prize for the contest had made her curious from the beginning and according to the information she received from some passing onlookers, none of them knew what it might possibly be.
For a moment, the frosty maiden believed that she was at an advantage, until she noticed a few others catching ones that were much larger than hers. Her short moment of triumph didn’t last long, which might require her to change her strategy if she wanted to attain her victory—not that she had any. An unfamiliar voice called out to her and when she glanced towards the direction of the source, she’d notice a young lady with horns protruding from her head. Never once had she met the woman before, but somehow, she knew of her name. Seeing how she was together with both Esperia and Alisa, perhaps they were a friend of her fellow guildmates.
”I’ll join you guys in a bit once this is over,” she bellowed over the distance that separated the two of them, gently waving her rod to display that she was in the midst of fishing.

Soon, everyone participating began filling their buckets with fishes they caught. Despite catching a few big and heavy ones, Haru’s bucket remained empty of course, as he kept releasing them all. He was only doing this to prove that he can fish; not to actually win the contest, after all.
His question as to who was Asmodeus was answered in fashion. The healer was a bit slow in comprehension, as he was completely unaware of the form of magic Esperia possessed. It was only after the demon takeover mage shrouded herself to reappear with some obvious changes to her appearance that he understood what was going on there. At first, obviously, the Rune Knight in him flared caution and he was put on edge at the thought of facing a ‘demon lord’. His first thought was obviously, Who is she going to curse?!
However, the moment she introduced herself in that cheery, friendly manner, Haru was left confused. The feeling was very familiar to that he felt when he first laid his eyes on that lich in a suit. Unexpected, pleasant surprise. Maybe, finally… the young man was on the verge of understanding what Akira always meant by ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’. Nevertheless, the shock factor remained and all he could do in response to the demon lady’s words was chuckle nervously. Thankfully, the tension didn’t linger for long as he noticed her interact with the rest of the crowd so fluently as she continued fishing, at which she seemed a lot better than most people in the vicinity.
Watching Asmodeus whisper to the rod and go on to catch some of the biggest fishes he had seen that day, he wondered if that trick will work for him too. “That actually works?” he asked Alisa, whispering so that he didn’t scare the fishes away. “You think I can try whispering to the rod too?” he asked with his innocent curiosity as he flung the line again, getting ready to do the same as Esperia if Alisa confirmed that it was actually a legitimate trick.

It had taken Aki a moment not to hold it against her... Perhaps it took the lunar mage just a moment longer to not hold it against this fiance either and it was more evident than she realized. She had taken Alisa's advice and kept rather silent, perhaps even icily so, which may have incited the urge in Esperia to explain her fiance's decision. Honestly, it was annoying to know that the Rune Knights refused external help. It wasn't surprising though, they clearly wanted to keep this a covet mission under wraps... Another set of hands could've gone a long way, or maybe it wouldn't have changed anything at all. That Dante guy was trouble...
Almost on cue, the woman bedazzled the two knights with her strange transformation magic. At the mention of demon, the teen tensed up just a little bit, her knuckles whitening as her grip on the rod strengthened. It only served to make things even more irksome with this teasing lustful creature appeared. Now it felt even worse, it felt like their trustee Titan had been seduced into leaving the force by some trickery and outwardly force. Aki grit her teeth, but didn't react in any violent manner, perhaps because the effects of this cheerful lusty charm was working on her too... Was it?
She shook her head and tried to focus, making a mental note to perhaps glean more information from Alisa, considering how close the two seemed.... Was she bewitched too? Demons were good at doing that, getting their way in one manner or another. She forced an inadvertently shy smile and almost mechanically greeted the transformed creature. 'Hello.' Aki avoided eye contact, focusing too hard on the stream below her, as though fishing was something that required such skill. Clearly, this sport was for the patient, if not the lazy. Tsuru was handling the presence of this demon rather well, now Akira was really starting to wonder if they were all slowly being manipulated by some strange spell, her skeptical nature never ceased to assume the worst of the situation.
The fishing had almost become mechanical, as she reeled in a small bunch beside her. Swiftly, the demon lord of lust just collected a much larger pile. There was far more bitterness in the young girl's head when she inwardly agreed with the playful quip Alisa made. She stole a glance at the healer as he questioned the viability of whispering to his rod too. She shook her head once more, rolling her eyes, what was the point, he was releasing the fishes back into the water anyways... Her pessimism burned out her competitive spirit rather quickly, when she realized the odds were against her. Nonetheless, since she was here and supposed to monitor things, she continued fishing. Maybe they'd just be able to sell these off to some stall owner for a meager price later... If the healer didn't butt in that was.
