Kenzo now found himself in somewhat of a tight spot. The blue haired mercenary had recently been summoned for an important quest. However, he was still not sure if the risk was worth taking. Advent World had still to enact its master plan. The guild was just a couple of days away from being completely built. It was turning to be a behemoth of a construction. It was completely Joyan in style, towering over the western city of Fiore atop an artificial mountain in the middle of a river. It was a mouthful honestly, but the looks of it was unlike most of the things the country had seen. For the last year, the mercenary had visited many places and cities. Kenzo got to know more about the country that he now called his home. However, the only place where he had seen buildings as impressive or perhaps more impressive than what the Advent World guild hall was posing to be had been in Era and in Crocus. The Domus Flau and Mercurius in particular were a sight to behold. However, there was something about the almost completed construction in Oak that Kenzo preferred. Perhaps it was the Joyan building style. After all, before coming to Fiore, the eastern country had been the mercenary’s home for years. He had many fond memories of the place, so one could say he was biased on the fact.

Either way, Kenzo’s dilemma was quite a simple one. Once the construction was done, the members of Advent World had been tasked with expanding the guild’s sphere of influence through the city and take complete control of Oak. Finn had designed the general strategy and decided to make pairs for the job. The mercenary had been coupled with Noel, one of the people he was closest with in the guild.

Furthermore, they were assigned with taking control over the Majura Art Gallery. It was a bastion of an older time. The place had been founded years before by one of the most influential wizards in recent Fioran history. It was still owned by some of the richest and most influential people in all of Fiore. For that reason, it was imperative that the new guild was able to get it under its fold. Many nobles and even royals had gone through the gallery at least once. If word was to be believed, the rumors said that the owners of the place dealt in every kind of transaction that needed some discretion. Controlling a place such as this with access to the elite was invaluable.

For that reason, when Kenzo heard word about a quest that had been published regarding the Gallery, he immediately accepted it. To his regret, he had not read what the request entailed first. He had heard about it from Dr. Stephan Mabuz. A couple of days ago, Kenzo had accepted to take a request from him. It was a rather simple task. Menial even. The doctor was well known within the city for his illegal shenanigans. He dealt with everything that had to do with the words, potions and illegal. He wanted to try and make a certain formula that he had in mind. In order to complete it, he needed the tail of an endangered species of lizard. It was illegal to hunt for the animal, but Kenzo managed to find one and deliver it during the same day. For the mercenary, it honestly didn’t mean much, but he surely understood why it was considered an unethical thing to do. However, it was all for the greater good. Since the doctor was the prominent supplier of narcotics and other substances within the underground scene of Oak, the guild had decided that it would be for the best to get some contact with him. In the end, the efforts had paid off.

Just one day after completing the doctor’s request, he was recommended for a new job. His employer this time, was Remy Martello. The name of the person making the request made Kenzo instantly accept without checking its description first. Remy was Martin Martello’s younger brother, who was a newcomer to the crime world of Oak, Martin was the head of one of the two most important underground organizations of the city, directly opposing Vincenze Tessio’s group. He was a ruthless leader, resorting to violence whenever it came to come in top. On the other hand, Remy acted as the voice of reason during his brother’s outbursts of anger and violence. One could say that he was the perfect support for his brother, saying yes to everything and being an intelligent advisor.

Kenzo knew he couldn’t waste this opportunity to gather intel from such a higher up in the Martello crime family. Yet, when he heard the task he needed to do, the mercenary regretted he hadn’t checked it out before. Remy was planning to attend an auction taking place that night at the Majura Gallery. He wanted to get ahead of the bidders of the night no matter the cost. For that reason, he needed someone to stealthily change the price tags of the most valuable items. Kenzo couldn’t say no to the request, but he was worried this would compromise his mission with Advent World when the time to conquer the gallery came. Either way, he had no other choice but to be very careful and completely avoid being seen and caught.

Kenzo dressed fancily for the night. He didn’t normally use this type of clothes, but he didn’t dislike dressing like that once in a while. The mercenary sported a black suit with a white shirt. After a walk through the dimly lit streets of Oak, the warrior made it to the Majura Gallery. He blended perfectly with the crowd. Apart from his light blue colored hair, he managed to remain unnoticed.

”Good night Mr. Martello.” Kenzo approached the brown haired man. Remy immediately turned around and greeted the man. ”Kenzo! My man, perfect timing. Come with me for a second.” Both men left the main reception hall without attracting much attention.

”So. Take this list over here. I’ve written a number of priceless pieces of art that are to be auctioned off. However, I’ve also written an equal number of pieces that are not worth much. What I need you to do is swap their prices. I’ve brought a sizeable amount of money with me, but with all this big shot nobles around, you better not try to outspend them. If you succeed, I’m sure I’ll be able to make a killing. Of course part of the profits will be turned to you.” Kenzo smiled at Remy’s final remark. ”Don’t worry about it. Leave it to me”. ”The items are being kept in the backroom. They have their auction numbers attached to each. Just make sure you swap them before they are taken out to be auctioned okay?”

Kenzo made his way to the backroom with the catalog in hand. The auction was about to start, so everyone entered the special room. The mercenary took advantage of this situation to sneak into the room. However, once he saw the insides of the store place, Kenzo knew it would be a harder job than expected. Other than the items listed for auction, a myriad of different pieces littered shelves and stands in the place. Kenzo had a hard time finding the pieces listed in the catalog. However, he slowly made his way up the list. Just before swapping the third item, two men arrived at the place to take out an item that had been sold. The man barely managed to stay unnoticed, breathing heavily out of nerves.

After some more rummaging and sneaking around, Kenzo was able to complete his job. He met Kenny outside of the gallery. The mission was a success. The mobster was in fact so happy that he gave the blue haired man a bag of jewels that he didn’t need to use. Kenzo was certainly buying some drinks on his way back.
