Moonshine peeked through darkened skies above Dahlia City. A steady drizzle kept the nightlife to a minimum, only the drunk and lonely out at this late hour of the evening. Lights in houses were dimmed by the many blinds and curtains to keep out the gloom and wandering eyes of drunkards and the handful of no good troublemakers looking for mischief. Fog littered the streets, crept along the alleyways and threatened to swallow the town’s grandest sight, the Daeva Eye guild hall, whole. Street lights offered spots of light, but the sneak thief skillfully crept around every speck of brightness to avoid being seen until she reached her home. A Rusty Dagger sat idly by her hip, waiting patiently to be pulled out and used on someone. Nuala knew the weapon was crap, but it was all she had for now; finding a decently strong, perhaps even enchanted dagger had proven to be almost equally as difficult of a task as learning how to use it skillfully. But Nuala was willing to learn and she was willing to practice. The Voidling hadn’t forgotten about her guild master’s harsh words; Kaiser had gone above and beyond to point out her weakness and where she stood in terms of strength – in comparison to her fellow members – many times in the past, asking her politely to improve and perfect her arts. Up until now, Nuala had never been a confrontational person and to be frank she still wasn’t and most likely never would be. Everything she did, her skills and talents had been worked around the idea of remaining unnoticed throughout the entire act – a master thief, invisible to all the human senses. But Kaiser Bo wanted to conquer the world and in order to be a part of that future, Nuala had to train. And so she made the matriarch herself her main target. Kaiser and Nuala were friends and the Voidling doubted that this would tarnish their relationship in any way, it was quite the opposite actually. Once she saw the effort Nuala was making in order to improve her abilities, she almost expected the vampire to be very pleased with her. But then again, Kaiser was exceptionally difficult to read so no one could ever truly know what she was thinking. Once Nuala was inside the guild, she dried herself up and moved up the stairwell and towards the master’s office. This was where Kaiser spent most of her time managing the guild and governing Dahlia City. The thief quietly, very quietly approached the office door and leaned against it. The building was nearly silent and she couldn’t hear whether or not anyone was inside – but then again, the vampire was easily as good at remaining unseen as the Voidling was. Carefully Nuala pushed the door open and peeked inside the dark room.

Dancing Dead [Kaiser]

Kaiser's goal today was to finish folding a thousand paper boats nonstop without resting and not getting distracted. The reason that she was doing that was to increase her attention span that she thought was just a bit better than that of a goldfish. The moment something distracted her, she would have to start from zero once again. It was brutal, but that was how Kaiser was. She always gave herself brutal training, and that was how she got to where she is right now pretty quickly. To make sure that she was undisturbed, she even had her mythical staff to swat away anything that bothered her.
She sat in the garden that was beside the main guild building. It was the garden overlooked by her office and sometimes when she was stressed out, she would just go over to the balcony extending from her office and take a breath of fresh air while she took in the greenness of the garden and let the trickling of the fountain water calm her nerves. However, at some point earlier that day, that sound made her want to throw the whole fountain off the face of the earth, because it distracted her a number of times and she had to begin again. She started this training after lunch and it was nightfall already. The lone vampire sat at one of the garden tables that had a little chess board etched into the center so that members who wanted to play chess while enjoying the tranquility of the garden could do so.
Towards the end of the day, Kaiser began to get the hang of it and had finished over eight hundred paper boats when it started to drizzle. Due to the fact that Kaiser could barely get sick, she persisted with her mission, and the madness went on. At the nine-hundredth paper boat, the vampire was so concentrated, that every sound she was hearing as well as everything she could sense normally had drowned out, making it easy for her to catch any sound that was not a part of these noises that were going in some kind of a loop, or anything that she could sense out of the ordinary while sat there folding her last hundred paper boats.

Effect: The user closes their eyes and enters a meditative state in which they disconnect themselves from the world around them. The user then creates and conjures a projection of themselves elsewhere in the world, where they are capable of hearing, sight, and speech only. In topics, the user can represent this by accepting the damage done against their backs and stating that the cape got very lightly damaged.
- Those wearing Nihlatak's Corpsemourn will experience this affliction for themselves. It will result into their bodies always showing at least one illness. The user is either sweating feverishly, has a cold, a terrible cough, constant shivers etc. It always differs, but it is always present.

The wood has strong magical conducting properties and glows dark purple. Purple magical energy can be seen coursing through the wooden staff as it radiates with an eerie aura. History: Morrigan born a talented sorceress with a monstrous mana pool. She was a genius when it came to everything magic able to learn any spell after all a single glance. She could dissect any magic she saw with but a gaze, able to analyze and replicate it on a whim. Morrigan could discover any spells weakness in an instant and use it to her advantage. Morrigan a true genius of magic could use each element with ease, combining them to create powerful new spells. Her presence even instilled fear into the hearts of the Seraphim. However, she was said to be incredibly curious perhaps too much. Blinded by curiosity, she consumed Izrael's essence. While it should have resulted in her death, Morrigan managed to survive it and became more powerful than ever. She became mad with power and wanted to find out to what extent it could be increased by consuming even more. She left the Nine Heroes and began to wander around. Some say that during these travels she supposedly ate the essence of a few deities as well. However, no one knows what happened after. Some say she was hunted by the Seraphim and at a great loss to their side killed her. Other tales tell of her capture and immediate torture to reveal her secrets before being buried alive. Some say perhaps she is still alive to this day. Sadly stories of Morrigan's actions were said to have been removed from history and now little is known about her. Requirements: Drawback: Ability: |

The user is either sweating feverishly, has a cold, a terrible cough, constant shivers etc. It always differs, but it is always present. Kaiser’s office was empty. Nuala remained stationary at the door–which was now open by a gap–for a few more moments to secure that the vampire was not in hiding (not that she had any reason to be) before tumbling inside the room. She could now hear a breeze coming from the southern side of the room, where the windows and a balcony where located at. This side of the guild led towards a beautiful garden within the backyard with many flowers, a fountain, some benches and a pavilion. The Voidling was still in a crouched down position and remained a few steps away from the windows. It wasn’t unusual for either of them to spend time outside in the gardens. Nuala could hear the faint sound of rain falling; a soft drizzle during which most members of Daeva Eye usually shied away from visiting the botanical gardens (no girl likes getting her hair wet after all) and had it not been for the balcony door, which was oh so slightly ajar, Nuala would have turned on her heel and continued her search for the guild mistress elsewhere. Nuala eventually snuck towards the balcony and carefully opened the door just enough for her to slip outside. It was dark, but the Voidling could see her surroundings nonetheless. Another rainy evening in Dahlia City wasn’t uncommon during this time of the year and she was surprised to spot Kaiser sitting in the gardens in spite of the bad weather. Nuala peeked through the balcony parapet to get a better look at what exactly her target was doing. Kaiser was sitting at one of the stone tables that had a build in chess board; she was clearly working on something and much to Nuala’s delight she appeared to be very focused on said work. Origami? What’s she doing Origami for at this time of the day? She would have to ask her about that later. For now the Voidling was on a mission. Kaiser’s back was turned on her; this was the perfect opportunity for Nuala to sneak close, attack and therefore proof herself to the strict mistress. Nuala loosened her Rusty Dagger from its place by her hip and bit down on its wooden hilt. She then lifted herself over the balcony with both hands and carefully jumped over it only to land silently within the gardens. The balcony was somewhat high up, but for a trained Rogue like Nuala the height was no problem because she knew how to land on her feet just like a cat. If the thief had to guess how far the other woman was from her current spot, she would have to say about 25 meters. Kaiser was sitting on a wooden garden chair, her back turned towards Nuala’s direction. The Voidling put the Rusty Dagger into her right hand and grasped it firmly. Then she made her first move. Nuala would sneak closer until she had crossed approximately half the distance between her initial position under the balcony and Kaiser. Once she was within range to lunge at Kaiser, she did. Nuala would cross the remaining distance between them within a mere second with a dash of her own and grab the backrest of the chair she sat on with her left hand; if the surprise attack succeeded, then Nuala would be able to pull the chair back, causing Kaiser to lose balance and hopefully be startled. While pulling her chair backwards, Nuala would firmly aim her Rusty Dagger at the vampires chest, effectively stabbing her from behind.

Kaiser’s idea of a productive evening was ruined, first by the rain that had her soaked from head to toe, and then the random assault from her guildmate that was just totally out of the blue. She wanted to complete this mission; she really did. And she was really close. So close that if anything stopped her from finishing, she wouldn’t hesitate to blast whatever or whoever it was, off the face of the earth. This madness was also fueled by the spirit of Morrigan, always trying to corrupt Kaiser from within the staff. Being uber focused on something meant that the slightest disturbance in the flow of things in her range of detection would alarm her, and in this case, it was the arrival of someone in the direction that she was completely giving her back to, whom she was unable to detect until they came within the range in which her necklace could pick up their mana traces, which was within fifteen meters from her position, to be specific. Driven by the dedication to finish today’s mission, the vampire would resolutely remove anything that obstructed her from her goal by any means necessary. That was the kind of person she was in most cases, and the majority of the people within her guild, those who chose to follow her in this journey, knew very well of this.
She may have gone a little overboard, however, since she was unaware of who exactly it was that was planning to take her life by sneaking up on her from behind. She wasn’t having any of it. After an entire day of folding paper boats, the woman was alerted by the slightest disturbance and easily angered as well. The moment that the figure entered the effective detection range of the Millenium Talisman, Kaiser opened both of her palms at the same time, activating two spells simultaneously and dropping the final paper boat that she would fold for the night. Fun fact, it was the nine hundred and eighty third one. It was needless to say that at this point she was infuriated as fuck. She had never been this close to completing a mission and then having to stop. Just when she was about to be done, one of her guildmates decided to attack her. Of course she wouldn’t know automatically whether it was one of her guildmates or not, but she assumed it was since outsiders needed permission to enter. It could very well have been an outsider who had been given permission by one of the guild aces. In any case, the spells would have done hardcore damage to whoever it was, and knocked them back twenty meters away from whichever point they would come into contact with her spells. Since her spell motions were done with her hands while her back was given to the assailant, there was no way that the attacks could have been anticipated. Only after casting the spells, the sorceress would stand bolt upright in her position and turn to face the person who was bold enough to sneak up on her. She was ready to follow up with any more attacks should the need arise.

Nuala Nazari was a master thief, a quick witted, skilled master thief, but she was by no means an equally skilled combatant. The Voidling specialized in thievery and assassination had practiced and perfect her skills on targets that were far less deadly than a vampire and although she knew Kaiser well and they had grown close throughout the past year, she was far from knowing everything about Daeva Eye’s mistress. If anything, Kaiser kept her secrets well and she showed no intention of sharing them–not even with her guild mates. There were a few things Nuala had not taken into consideration when starting her sneak attack and to be frank, it hadn’t been well thought out to begin with. She didn’t think Kaiser would be an easy target, but she most certainly wouldn’t be an impossible one either; everyone had a weakness and everything which bleed could be killed. And she had seen the vampire bleed before. That aside, a fight or rather: an assassination of someone like her would have taken more preparation, more practice and most certainly a better weapon (or two) to lead to success. There were many things Nuala hadn’t accounted for and the most important ones were things she couldn’t have known or found out about unless she asked Kaiser herself. The woman had seen the golden necklace worn by the vampire and as far as she could recall, Kaiser never took it off. She had never thought about its enchantment and such Nuala was entirely unaware of its ability to spot her out from afar. The Voidling had been lurking within the Millenium Talisman’s range without knowing it and even though the other woman had shown no emotion that gave away her awareness of Nuala’s presence, she had known the entire time. But Nuala didn’t get a chance to think any of this through though. When she pounced, she felt a ringing in her ears, followed by a rumble in the earth. An invisible force came crashing down at the unsuspecting thief at once and its raw magical power knocked her back, splattering her body against the wall beneath Kaiser’s very own balcony. Nuala was knocked out before she could feel any sense of pain and everything happened so quick that she didn’t see her weapon, the Rusty Dagger, shattering within her hands either. This was certainly not how she’d thought things would go. |

Forgot about the Talisman, fuck me I guess haha. Since this thread is meant to train my Weapon Mastery, I have no means of defending myself against that attack and since I basically lunged into her attack (which was overkill, lets be real) I consider myself K.O'd.

Kaiser’s expression reflected her emotions a hundred percent when she realised who had tried to attack her, as she stood there frozen for a moment before a pair of blood-red wings sprouted out of her back as she launched herself off the bench towards the spot where her Voidling guildmate had been knocked back to. If she had known that it was her, she wouldn’t have been so aggressive. She would probably have used just one spell. However, now that she realised she had hurt her guildmate badly, the vampire did the first thing that was only appropriate to do. She would take her to the guild’s very own infirmary, to make sure that her guildmate was alive. Upon reaching the wall under her balcony, Kaiser came to a half, kneeling down next to her guildmate’s completely still body. She first checked her pulse to see if she was still alive, and then lifted her off the ground, carrying her in her arms bridal style before flying off to the part of the guild compound where the infirmary was located.
The sanguine appendages that grew out of her back dragged against the dirt as she brought Nuala into the infirmary, gently placing her on one of the beds with a look of extreme worry. A nurse immediately arrived at the side of the bed, and Kaiser had to explain the whole thing. The nurse couldn’t believe what just happened. She couldn’t believe that Kaiser had just attacked a dear guildmate with so much force that she was knocked out entirely after taking a hit from her crash magic. Kaiser couldn’t hide the shame, but rushed the nurse to just shut up and give her treatment right then, to which the nurse nodded and did as was told. The vampire stood by Nuala’s bed, arms folded over her chest as she kept her eyes on the Voidling. She wasn’t dead, so that was good news. But hopefully she hadn’t hurt her to the extent that she couldn’t function like a normal person again.

When Nuala awoke from a deep, unconscious slumber the Voidling felt as though her body was on fire. Her limbs were aching and she could barely move; her strength was only enough to lift and lower her chest in order to breath, but aside from that she felt powerless. The lights emitted by the lamps within the infirmary blinded the woman and she closed her eyes as soon as she had opened them. Only a pained groan escaped her lips to signalize that she was, in fact, still alive. The guild mistress sat by her bedside; Kaiser had her arms crossed and judging by her expression she was worried about her well being, but also pissed at the half hearted attempt of a sneak attack. Nuala couldn’t blame her, she supposed. It was her own fault after all and now that she’d taken so much damage from Kaiser’s magic – invisible and forceful as it was – she probably would be rendered useless for the next few days. It was a shame really, since Nuala had planned on traveling, but it also showed her that she had a long way to go if she wanted to become stronger and improve her skills and abilities. There wasn’t much Nuala could so in this current situation, so she merely turned her head towards Kaiser and flashed her a dry smile. “Soo..did I win?” Total WC: 1.702 |
Mon Mar 30, 2020 9:05 am
It took awhile for the anger to set in once again, and when it did, Kaiser had to leave the infirmary to blast some more crash magic at a line of trees just outside. She was angry at Nuala for being so careless, and mostly she was angry at herself for being so reckless, within her own guild walls too. The vampire bit down on her clenched fist as she came back to Nuala’s side. When she picked her up from the dirt, Kaiser noticed that the weapon she wielded was shattered to pieces by her crash magic. She didn’t really think of herself as being challenged by Nuala when she gave her the Rusty Dagger. She expected the voidling to go after weaker opponents. However, it seemed that the lady of the void was more ambitious than she thought, going for the bigger fish already. If it had been someone else other than Kaiser in that spot, Nuala had a higher chance of being able to take their life. The vampire ordered one of the orderlies to go up to her office to bring her the dagger in the lower left drawer of her desk. Of course it wasn’t usual for anyone but the mistress herself to be allowed in her office—save for the title holders. Kaiser was going to kill the orderly later, maybe feed on her so that her sacrifice wasn’t for nothing.
Once the violet-haired rogue began to stir, Kaiser raised her head and blinked. She was about to fall asleep right beside Nuala if she didn’t wake up anytime soon. She stood up immediately, wanting to yell at her for being so careless, but being unable to after seeing the look on her guildmate’s face. She inhaled sharply and pressed her lips into a thin line. At this point she wasn’t even sure what to do. Lean over and hug her? That would hurt though. A kiss on the forehead and say ‘Sorry for that, I didn’t really mean to really hurt you’? But her pride wouldn’t let her apologize. She wanted to bang her head into the wall next to Nuala’s bed. After hearing what the voidling asked her, her lips parted to utter an apology and instead managed to call her stupid. “No...that was pretty stupid,” she said. She was slightly impressed with Nuala’s bravery and ability to sneak up on her up until the range of her necklace’s detection. If she hadn’t worn it today, she would have probably taken a critical hit and would be in Nuala’s place right now. Kaiser brought out the shiny new dagger that she had meant to give Nuala after she was able to show some improvement to her. “Here’s compensation for the one I broke. Make sure this one stays intact for at least a month, alright?” she said and placed it in one of Nuala’s hands. She had a feeling the rogue would want a feel of the blade as soon as she could. It was much more potent than the Rusty Dagger she had before. It was known as ‘Death’s Ghastly Dagger’.
“I’ll see you later. Don’t try to get up before they tell you to,” she said as a goodbye and left the infirmary. Since Nuala already came back to the world of the living, Kaiser could finally stop being so emotional like she was going through menopause and return to her duties. No more paper boat folding though. Look what that caused.
Mon Mar 30, 2020 12:07 pm
Of course Nuala hadn’t won. She was beat up, her bones were broken and all together she didn’t feel really good. When Kaiser stood by her bed, she could tell that the vampire was angry with her. “I tried, I guess,” said Nuala and a chuckle escaped her lips. She tried moving a little, but her body was still in too much pain. There was nothing more boring to her than being tied to her bed all day and waiting to heal, but hopefully she would immerse from this entire situation stronger and wiser. Nuala knew that Kaiser was an ambitious person herself, so it came as no surprise to her that the guild master understood her desire to improve herself and she couldn’t do that by beating up those who were naturally weaker than her all the time. At the same time however, the Voidling also had to make sure not to overestimate herself – and underestimate others – as those could lead to unwanted results. Kaiser was the first one to speak again and her words surprised her. She had seen this softer side of the vampire a few times before, but it still caught her off-guard nonetheless. She pulled out a new dagger – much larger and more sturdy and deadly looking than what Nuala had owned before – and placed it into the Voidling’s hand. “A gift?” She asked and listened as Kaiser explained her intentions. “Thank you, I will.” Nuala didn’t have enough strength yet to practice with the weapon that she had been giving by her guild mistress, but once she did she would – and she couldn’t wait to find out how good this dagger was.
