It was almost evening when Masami ventured in Sieghart Mountains in search for the targeted wolf, named Amarok, whom Masami recently learned to be the brother of a more benevolent werewolf named Achak. The performer was accompanied by a large person he does not yet know, as Masami spoke of his own name without knowing the name of the one who asked him. "It's starting to get colder." said Masami, brushing his own arms with both of his hands crossed, just to express the topic. It was awkward for him to be with someone he had just met—not only that, he doesn't even know the name of his companion, or where he was from, or what kind of color they'd like to dwell in. Apart from those, the large man had a tattoo in his chest, an emblem Masami does not recognize. 'Darn, I feel so dumb.' internally, Masami slapped himself twice. It was a silly thought; sooner or later, he could see the two werewolves from afar, as well as a bunch of other wolves who do not seem as big as these two. Achak, the benevolent wolf, pointed at the two companions, although Masami wasn't exactly sure who he was pointing at. 205/1275 「-15% WC reduction via Guild Perk.」 北正美 |

As they both approach the rather large werewolf they had meet earlier, along with Cameron they pointed over to a very large werewolf and looked directly at Masami and said " The big one in the middle is Amarok, he is the leader. He is the one that you will want to challenge to combat. You will need to do this by walking up to him and showing no fear, as they will simply eat you alive then but you need to show pride and strength when walking up there otherwise you will not be taken seriously. You will walk up and challenge him as the one who killed the exiled wolf, this will give you the right to challenge him as alpha. He will not kill you before then if you introduce yourself as the one who killed the exiled wolf, as that would be against the rules of the pack. "
Achak looked at Masami to make sure that they got all of that information.

'Showing no fear is easy, but...' Still in doubt, Masami was worried of placing himself into a mold where he does not belong, and that is directly fighting. He always stood behind, supporting and making the people he loves into stronger vessels, but for he to be in actual combat? It sounds like a taboo for Masami, to be the one using his own body to fight. Not that he was taking the scenario lightly—he had seen others who were more fearsome. There was his guild master; after those training sessions, Masami felt as if he'd got nothing to fear but his own comrades. These two werewolves, and then the pack of common wolves, to Masami, felt so weak. Despite such, Masami did not have the confidence to be the one fighting, let alone completely show what he can do to everyone in the field. He only listened to half of what he was told, then exaggeratedly shook his head. The two werewolves looked at Masami, because he was the rumored one, rumored because of something so untrue. Somehow, ever so suddenly, Masami found the way the Skulltaker placed the credits unto Masami as something so shady. Once again, the voice of his own siblings internally scolded Masami for trusting people he had just met, the same things happened last time in Marigold and Myras City. Masami wouldn't be an idiot if he remained making the same mistakes, he would be insane. Now that he was sure that everyone was looking at him, Masami stepped backwards. "It was..." he muttered, having some sort of hesitation before speaking, "my master who slayed such beast." as he said this, Masami bowed with a single arm to tuck unto his abdomen, and another hand to point at the Skulltaker. Getting himself a meter away from the man who truly slayed the wolf from before, Masami didn't look at anywhere else, and even Cameron and the benevolent wolf, Achak, were in awe. To use the word "master" is such great risk, putting people into a higher mold they do not belong in, but Masami absolutely didn't want to be the one being placed into the mold. The rest of the common wolves started to howl, looking at the big guy rather than Masami. They had recognized the Skulltaker to be the boy's master, and now they wanted the stronger fellow to fight rather than the feminine, flimsy, and skinny-looking boy. One wolf bit Masami's coat, not so aggressively, then pulled him away of the circle they created to surround only Amerok and then the Skulltaker. The rest watched from the outside of their self-made arena, and then Masami didn't look at anyone's eyes as the fight would start. 607/1275 「-15% WC reduction via Guild Perk.」 北正美 |

Ragnar then realized that things escalated very quickly as Masami was pulled out of a circle that had appeared around them and Amarok and Ragnar were the only ones left in the middle. Ragnar shrugged his shoulders, he wanted to see if his temporary companion had any strength in him but clearly he did not so he had to come up with something else.
Ragnar pulled the club off his back and in that moment three massive magical circles appeared around him as Ragnar roared a battle cry. As his muscles grew in size and density he also started to grow in size, slowly at first before rapidly expanding so rapidly that the circle had to break ranks and spread out just to get big enough to allow Ragnar's growing form to still fit inside of the circle. Ragnar eventually stopped growing when he was a massive 6 meters tall, his weapon alone was nearly 5 meters long in his hands and over two dozen centimeters thick. This transformation seemed to surprise Amarok, and he backed up as he tried to decide how to best deal with a monster this large now.
Sadly there wasn't much he could do as Ragnar swung his club at him, sweeping it across the ground at him at full speed, aiming to end this fight in a single blow if at all possible. Amarok while faster then Ragnar, even more so in this form, simply did not have the speed to be able to move up half of his body length into the air before the blow hit and didn't have enough time to move back the two meters or more it would take before the blow slammed into him. This blow sent him flying into the distance, where his body slammed into a tree and as his spine could be heard snapping against the wood of the tree. This blow also killed several other Werewolves in the arc of the swing that didn't move far enough back to avoid the swing of his club.
Ragnar roared into the air, with his new size this sounded more like a thunderclap going off directly above these people's heads, so loud that most of the werewolves covered their ears due to how loud it really was. Once this was done, Ragnar then started to go back down to his normal size of over two meters tall. It only took a moment but it was long enough for Ragnar to then turn around and give a signal for Achak to show up and walk back into the camp.
Once this was done Ragnar would turn to Masami and say simply " That was a disappointment, as is the fact that I will continue to figure out why you smell like my Lord... How would you like for us to deal with this? Do we give them back over to Achak or do we use them to simply kill the village and take what we want from it? " Ragnar said this last part as a matter of factly and without emotion as if he asked Masami if he wanted beef or chicken for dinner.

Now, Masami knew that he will witness something cool. A spar between a large human and a werewolf! How cool is that?! Masami's eyes would almost sparkle, literally, if only he didn't remind himself of the 'mold' he placed himself in, remembering the reason unto sending his companion away instead. 'Now, no one would know.' thought Masami when he stood afar, touching his next with two fingers of the right side, then tracing his skin down until the palms, then tapping the wrist twice. Masami lowered down to the ground, looking through the gap between everyone's legs, a quiet magic circle appearing right at the tip of his fingers. Zooooom, there goes the thread—a magical thread, that is, and it instantly reached the friend Masami thought of. Masami has always been fond of doing things in the distance, acknowledging the lack of being credited for their efforts; the last time Masami supported a character, they almost forgot to thank him. Now, with thanks or without, Masami cared not. He watched from a distance as if a fighting coach, judging the battle, the strengths of two creatures. In all honesty, Masami didn't care about werewolves. If his guild master was here, then he'd probably already struck the malevolent wolves with one of his many swords, but fighters would prefer to directly fight. They were howling, the wolves cheering on without speaking in a language that humans would understand – one of those wolves were glaring at Masami, as if trying to say something. Did he notice what Masami did? The performer glared as well, a fire ball appearing at the top of the pinky raised in the air. "Dinner." one word was enough to cause that wolf to frown, and to lower his head, and then to run away. To Masami, these wolves were like dogs – he would have been afraid if he was the less-tougher boy from before, but all of that had changed forever. A while ago, the large man easily brought a wolf down, so Masami would expect that the battle was easier done than said. If the wolves wanted a fairer fight, then they should have banned the use of weapons, but it seemed like they were looking down on humans by the way this Amarok appears. As expected, the human won the battle, and then the wolves created a pathway for the large man to walk through. Then, Masami would jump, swiftly clapping his hands. "Congrats! You were great! So cool!" although sounding exaggeratedly, Masami thinks that he was being very genuine. However, when the tough man met him, he had something to say as well. Like a child he was, Masami sniffed his sleeves. "I smell like your lord?" that was weird, what does Masami even smell like? Considering that this large man found a distinctive smell around Masami, the boy thought that perhaps this Skulltaker had a good sense of smell. Masami was confident that he wasn't wearing any perfume, or having fabric scents – his bandages were recently changed and there was no scent from it. He can't smell his own hair, and so far, Masami was confident that it was the only part that actually smelled like something... unless someone sniffed his hair without his awareness. Scary. However, he didn't know either, thus looking at the benevolent wolf, Achak. At the moment, all the common wolves were giving their attention unto the Skulltaker, and not minding the business of others. Like dogs, they were simply waiting for his command. "Hey, the good wolf sire over there should start leading." suggested Masami, gently tapping over the Skulltaker's arm while the other hand points over Achak. "Now that you won, you can tell the other wolves to follow Achak. You don't seem to be the wolf-type of guy, huh?" if the large guy doesn't do as Masami suggests, then Achak would be following the Skulltaker as well, what a sad guy. The Skulltaker, to Masami, didn't seem to be the type to want any companions, either – it was even odd that they took a quest with someone like Masami. Thus, he placed his hands behind his neck, giving the choice to the Skulltaker. "Oh well, not like they won't mind that Amarok-guy. Wolf meat sounds like good dinner! Maybe give me your name too, huh, master?" he followed the statement with a chuckle for the taunt, then skipping off to meet with Cameron again, maybe for actual dinner, as celebration? 1352/1275 「-15% WC reduction via Guild Perk.」

Ragnar reached the corpse of the dead werewolf, his slain foe, and he reached down and grabbed the head of this wolf and from the back, nothing could be heard but the sound of bones snapping and the sound of flesh ripping along with the ground below Ragnar slowly starting to be stained with the blood of the dead werewolf. When Ragnar finally turned around both of his hands were covered in blood, but the most disturbing thing was that the head of the werewolf was in his hands. Ragnar looked at the head as he moved it around in his hands as if judging it like a gem or a piece of art before he said into the crowd. " You will follow Achak now... I have no interest in leading your people and I feel it would be a disservice to you to follow my Lord without your complete commitment to the cause. " As Ragnar said this the head in his hands started to smoke and burn as the flesh, blood and organs started to burn away to ask. By the time that he had finished his sentence, the skull was completely clean and down to the white of the bone.
There were no scorch marks or anything else on the skull before Ragnar said a word. The word was not human or even of this realm, though Masami might recognize it as the words of a Devil. After the sound of a thunderclap, a sound of the beast coming running through the forest could be heard. Out of the forest came something that no one could reasonably expect. a beast that was as big and wide as a water buffalo while being far heavier. The horn on his head was a single one, forming a T shape on it, though on top of the flat of that T were large spikes, where it appeared skulls had been placed. It's appeared to be closer to a massive dog in shape and size, it's mouth appeared to be big enough to bite a man's head off with room to spare, its teeth were as long and sharp as shortswords. From a distance color of the fur of the beast looked a dirty brass only as it got closer would people realize that it was not the color of the fur, it was armor. Sheets of Brass covered armor covered every inch of this beast and it didn't seem to slow it down at all in any way. The chains that were used to 'control' this beast was attached to a massive spiked collar around its neck. As it approached and slowly came to a stop, small gaps in the armor showed something possibly more terrible. This beast had no skin, it appeared to be made of machinery and parts mixed together with a living beast.
This beast came running next to Ragnar, at which point Ragnar tapped the side of it, welcoming it back into this realm for a moment as Ragnar put the skull into a pouch on the mount. Ragnar then got onto the mount, even as the mount started to snap and growl at the local werewolves who backed up quickly to get away from the beast. Ragnar reached down and grabbed the chain used to 'control' this beast and the beast walked towards Masami. When the beast was mere feet away from Masami, Ragnar turned it so that Masami would be facing the flank of the animal before Ragnar said simply " My name is Ragnar Asgeir, the Skulltaker, and Paladin of Zalambur. I hope to one day realize why you smell like my Lord, but until that day, I wish you well even if you are now my enemy. "
Ragnar then turned and rode away into the distance, Ragnar knew that the next time they meet it was unlikely they would be on the same side.
