I’ve really neglected my water arts since taking up this new style, haven’t I? The soft breeze off a nice freshwater lake just the perfect thing to temper the heat above her, while it was the perfect place of the princess of a foreign land to simply take a load off and relax a while, right now she had other things in mind. Hands clamped together almost like she was in prayer as she let the droplets that the wind picked up refresh her and her mind focusing hard, though Sofia Serena had impressed herself with the speed and efficiency she had picked up the new style of magic she had chosen to be of best benefit to herself and her guild, she still couldn’t help but feel a hint of disappointment in the way it had seemed to pull her away from her original style.
Uncle Nik would be embarrassed to learn his niece hadn’t thrown a single drop around in months! Truly loving the ability to fling fluids around perhaps in part because it felt like her magical style offered her a connection to her homeland that she cherished and to the family whom she had waiting for her there, water mages were common on the Island of Valerica but that didn’t make her feel less special, and instead it offered her a bond to her people that few other practitioners of the magical arts seemed to share.
Time to see how rusty I’ve gotten! That the reason why she now faced this lush southern lake and felt herself possessed to recover whatever prowess she had lost with her old form, Sofia felt like it was almost as if she was trying to reconnect with her past as she took a deep breath and moulded the mana she had gathered within her, and then brushed her finger past her eye as if she was wiping away a tear of regret or something of that sort. However, this one was far more devastating to some than even the weeping of the most beautiful woman in the world…
