It was an eerie night, the moon shone from above but the area ahead was covered in mist, not so much as to make things hard to see but just enough to give someone the creeps. Alfyn walked past the main hub of Samhain, away from all the spooky restaurants and the creepy merchant stalls. In reality Alfyn wasn't bothered by this at all as he had been preparing for quite some time now, after all, this was the only place he could get a good stock of otherworldly supplies for his experimental potions. He had concocted a potion to temporarily give him a pair of fox ears and a tail that matched his hair color, and with his patterned kimono in red and black colors and his fox mask at the side of his head in the same colors he gave the impression of a common male Kitsune in its human form. He had heard the stories about Samhain during this time of the year, how normal people would get abducted by all sorts of spirits and creatures never to walk the mortal realm again as humans. Alfyn found himself at what seemed to be the cemetery of the town, he turned to look at a sign that read "Garden of Rest", it sure does look like a good place to rest, he thought. For a moment his mind wandered to his parents, he was hoping they were getting a good well-deserved rest too, but then quickly focused on the task at hand and that was to gather some ectomist for alchemical purposes, and the mist of a cemetery full of spirits ought to do perfectly. Alfyn placed his grocery bags full of reagents on a small bench and took out a medium sized phial that had been enchanted to gather some of the mist inside. Suddenly, amidst the silence he heard a sound and saw movement from one of the graves as a skeletal figure rose from the ground.

Alfyn hid quickly behind a nearby column, thankfully there was quite some distance between the skeleton and the young man so there was no way he had seen Alfyn. As the figure completely dug itself out of its grave more and more skeletons started springing up from the ground, definitely not the best situation I could be in, Alfyn thought. He had no actual reason to be at the resting place so the residents would certainly ask for an explanation if they found him. He would just remain hidden until they all left or went back inside was the first idea that he had and so he stood there silently observing the figures interact with each other and calling even more to come out of their graves. Suddenly, a chill went down his spine as he felt something creeping up on his right shoulder, something that just rested on that shoulder, he turned around slowly to find a boney hand and an empty skull "looking" right at him. Alfyn let out a horrified scream as the skeleton followed suit and they were now screaming at each other, causing the others-that had replaced their skulls with pumpkin heads to look towards them and quickly make their way there. The young man calmed down after a few seconds of screaming, cursing in his head for what he just did as he shouldn't have to be afraid for his life, but he now had to find an excuse for him being there as the small army of bones arrived. The skeleton right in front of him seemed to have calmed down as well telling Alfyn that he gave him such a scare. "Trick or Treat!" Alfyn exclaimed looking at the undead being, now sweating slightly as he was frantically trying to find a solution for the predicament he found himself in.

The skeleton looked at Alfyn in surprise, at least as much surprised an empty skull can look with its jaw hanging open for a few seconds. "Well that was splendid lad, haven't heard such a screech since that banshee moved out!" the skeleton replied with pure enthusiasm as its bones were shaking from laughter and gave Alfyn a pat on the back with its skeletal hand. As the other undead came closer the skeleton explained what happened and they all agreed on the quality of the scream. The young man was relieved that things didn't turn out as bad as he thought but then the question came of why was he hiding behind the pillar and why were those bags on the bench full of items from the marketplace. Alfyn had already figured a plan, however he couldn't be sure if it would be successful as it depended purely on how well it was received by the otherworldly creatures. He explained how he was assigned to bring some of the Halloween spirit to this part of the town and offer the residents a few gifts and throw a party. The skeletons with the pumpkin heads were looking at each other in confusion, even their skulls which they were holding seemed to be confused, at last the skeleton that had frightened Alfyn spoke, "Oh come on ye jerk-o'-lanterns what's wrong with partying a little, go wake up the others". Soon enough a part of the cemetery was filled with spirits, ghouls, skeletons and zombies, Alfyn couldn't believe what he was experiencing, was he really about to throw a party for undead creatures?! Most of them were dying to have some fun while others had their concerns about what kind of celebration it would turn out to be, and soon enough everything was ready.

As the crowd was becoming somewhat impatient Alfyn set up his lacrima to broadcast his voice so that all the participants could hear what he had to say. He informed them that there were small treats awaiting them in the bags on the bench-yes he had to give up his own "groceries" for his plan to work and not look too suspicious- after the party was over and to act civilized and share the treats with each other, there was one item for each one of them, thanks to me wanting to stock up enough reagents, he thought and frowned at the idea of all that jewel that would go to waste. Finally, he asked of them to form a line, a Conga line at that, as the festivities were about to begin. Everyone looked at the kitsune look-alike in awe after he finished his phrase, cheers of excitement and clapping could be heard, a ghost even screamed so loud Alfyn almost fainted as the entity shared its past experiences from conga line parties with the other residents of the cemetery. Alfyn regained his composure trying not to show that he ever lost it due to being terrified, and with a wink and a twirl, "Have a ghastly Halloween everyone!", he exclaimed as he sent his lacrima into the air making it spring to life. The lacrima acted as a disco ball showering the cemetery in a variety of colors and as a speaker allowing Alfyn to play the track he wanted and broadcast it through the entire cemetery.
Everyone had gotten in a line, touching bone finger to ghostly waist and transparent hand to rotting flesh as they started dancing to the beat. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves and the young mage was somewhat proud of himself, with a smile on his face as he kept thinking about an escape plan, surely there would be conversation later and he wasn't interested in being a part of it, not to mention he could feel the effects of the transformation potion weakening and his magic being drained by the lacrima.

As the beat was coming to its end Alfyn started sweating at the thought of his transformation ending as well, he was still inexperienced as a caster so he was almost out of mana as well, a spirit would never have mana problems but he wasn't an actual spirit. Not a moment later and the unimaginable happened, a skeleton missed the beat and stopped sooner than he was supposed to resulting in everyone in the line crashing onto their conga partners at the front, normally this wouldn't be an issue but with the strength these undead packed they soon ended up in a big pile bones, rotten flesh and ectoplasm. Alfyn stared at the sight in awe as he stopped the music and heard someone shouting that they were alright. The mage took this opportunity to escape, leaving his bags with the items inside as a farewell gift to the residents of the cemetery. Putting the lacrima back into his kimono he started running until he was far and away from that place leaving the cemetery in shambles. I would say I just turned that place into the Garden of Un-Rest, he thought to himself and chuckled but quickly returned to the task at hand which was to leave from Samhain as soon as possible and return at another time with a not such high maintenance outfit. On his way out of the city he saw quite a number of games that he could try out the next time and was looking forward to as he saw there were quite a bunch of prizes to be won and he never backed down from free stuff. The transformation potion finally lost all its strength and now Alfyn was just a normal person again, bummer and I was starting to get used to the ears and tail, he thought and continued his way back to the place he was staying pondering about his next fashionably spooky outfit.
