"You'll be fine on your own, right?" Masami asked with worry in his face, waving a hand at the white-haired girl who had politely walked away with a smile on her face. After three days of travel, Masami was finally in Crocus, and he has yet to come back to Kardia Cathedral in Magnolia City to report what how the request went, if only he was not approached by a woman afterwards; she had circled over him right after the white-haired girl was no longer in Masami's sight. With a fan that covered her grin, she freely touched Masami's choir boy clothing, and she had scrutinized his features. Rude. Raising a brow in confusion, Masami tapped to tap her hand away. His face did not show any sort of hesitation to express discomfort, and she had found the woman very odd. "Oh, sorry. Was I rude?" as if she hasn't been; Masami tried not to show a sigh. "No," he lied, "although the act was very odd. Is there anything you need for me?" A part of him was scared, why does she look at him that way? She seems as if she knew everything about Masami. Everything. Has he been too careless in terms of identity? Like that white-haired girl who said that she "felt" Lucifer within Masami, is it the same with this woman, as well? Despite the albeit rude way of approach, she had distanced herself and held a hand out, introducing herself as "Merlin" and she even had to bow to show formality. "In fact, I do," she said, "hear me out, then I'll tell you valuable information in return." What, is it about Masami's demon soul? Lucifer? Not that he was tired of the same thing—in fact, those times were very useful. Masami likes nothing more than learning about his own self: the reason why he did not die two years ago, why Lucifer has suddenly awakened when he left Joya... or maybe he simply has a knack for attracting odd women. Yes, that could be it. 343/1500 北正美 |

Masami was told that indeed, the woman—Lady Merlin—needed Masami for something, yet he wondered if it had something specific to do with Masami. Maybe she knew who I am, he thought as he walked through the streets of Crocus, finding his way to the gates, waiting for the awaited and expected caravan. There, he'd meet with the guards, and they halted Masami from going any further. "Choir boy, from the cathedral?" they assumed, pointing fingers at him. I guess Crocus has a cathedral too, he shook his head at him, "I am from Magnolia City, I will be waiting for a caravan—Lady Merlin's orders." At the mention of her name, they had frozen up on their spot. "W-What's a boy's gotta do... with that woman?" they seemed to hesitate opening their mouths, but they had let Masami stay nearby the gates either way. What's up with them? truly, what's he got to do with the woman? Why did it have to be Masami? Could it be his demon soul that she had sensed and had taken interest upon? Before Masami could continue thinking, the caravan had arrived, and then he'd wave his hand before entering. "We... didn't expect that she'd send a choir kid," they said, unsure whether it came from specifically whom, however it sounded like the comment was from the people in front. "Come closer, kid, otherwise you won't be able to guide us properly." Oh well, they were right. What happened to mother's warnings regards not following strangers around?—not entering a strangers' vehicle?—what happened to all of those? Maybe it was better to have listened closely; "What's your name?" they ask, and more of mother's warnings drew closer. He didn't hesitate, after all. "Kita Masami," he answered, "it's nice to meet—" "Oh, you're that famous actor from Joya? We didn't expect that he'd be so young." So they knew him, after all? But more of his profession, and that was more satisfying to hear. 675/1500 北正美 |

"Man, this damn traffic." And, indeed, Masami was to blame for this. He was the one who directed the caravan to supposedly safer places, mainly because he was told the directions, and now he's speaking the words back to the employees of the delivery. "Sorry, I was told that this was the safer route," he lowered his head, but the employees—specifically the driver—didn't really mind it. "It's fine: 'for the quality of the goods,' right?" he seemed to be fine with the idea of taking the longer route to deliver the goods, "Don't underestimate me, I'm a good driver," well, that was assuring. Immediately after he reassured them, the vehicle had suddenly made their twists and turns, getting out of the traffic while still in the same alleyway. "Woa—ow!" exclaimed Masami, then he found himself falling off of his seat, and so as the other employees. He worried about the good that was being delivered; luckily, when he looked up, the employee held the box (where the important item was said to be there) high up despite having fallen to the vehicle's floors as well. Masami took a sigh of relief afterwards. "Let's just take the outer roads," said Masami while struggling to pick himself up, then he was given a thumbs up, like a: "Right at your command, little boy!" type of thing... wait a minute, the driver actually said that. Even though they recognize Masami as that Joyan Noh performer, they also recognize him as a little choir kid? Masami doesn't know whether to be proud of it; he knew nothing about Fiore, at least, other than Marigold City because those were in the Joyan books (even if it wasn't as appealing as the books said so), but that also meant he knew nothing about Lucifer. Maybe he'd stop by the cathedral after thi—"A—yikes..."—another sudden halt? It's getting quite uncomfortable here. 994/1500 北正美 |

Although they took the outer roads, the caravan keeps coming back to the alleyways due to the construction changes. Crocus was a big city, and Masami had only realized that now. The paths here were worse than Magnolia—in fact, Magnolia City hardly had any of these problems, but maybe there's an occasion here, which is why there are so many road distractions? Immediately after Masami's thought of "road distractions," they had met with a Rune Knight, who had forced the caravan to come to a halt to check the inside of the vehicle. "This is for speeding..." Masami joked, trying not to get in unease unlike the rest of the employees. Unfortunately, the same thing happened for about... three times? Or so, perhaps even more than that; what's up with all these cranky Rune Knights? What's they got to do with the caravan's delivery? At that point, the caravan's employees would rather give up, coming to a complete halt and to feel sorry for having the kid deliver the goods instead. "We've got other deliveries, sorry kid," they said, but Masami understood it. In fact, he preferred delivering the goods by foot. In where Masami lived in Joya, there weren't much vehicles, and it was much better without them. "It's alright," he replied, gently taking the box of goods using two of his hands before completely leaving the caravan, then he would be left alone for him to complete the job himself. Wow, I suddenly feel so lonely, immediately after the caravan had left, the streets had become less crowded and a lot more... quiet. It could have went better if only the employees were a lot more patient, but guess that wasn't the case. At least, I was told where the building was, at this point, Masami was no longer sure of the purpose of the delivery. Why can't Lady Merlin take the goods herself? Why did she have to hire a caravan? Not yet—Masami doesn't yet know what is inside the box and why it was so important. 1336/1500 北正美 |

A professional-looking apartment—Masami found himself standing in front of it. Like usual, he approached for the receptionist and stated his name, then stated the name of the woman—Lady Merlin, was it? The name that causes people to freeze on their spot, and it did happen again to the receptionist behind the counters. "Hold on for a moment, kiddo," the receptionist said as her fingers flickered through magical keys that floated over the table, writing letters that luminesced through a transparent screen in front of the two's eyes, the letters were Fiorian and not so understandable for Masami. Then, she showed him certain symbols, and they automatically translated into Joyan for him. "Ah, thank you very much," he bowed before sending himself to the stairs; third floor, room A2, they should be there. When he was in front of the door and the room's name glistened in golden plates, Masami didn't hesitate a knock. "Hello? It's the choir kid from earlier," you shouldn't get too used to the name, Masami. After his knock, the same woman had picked the doorknob for her to twist open, revealing a round table inside of the room and multiple other people in their wooden seats. "I came to deliver this myself," with his hands offering the box, Lady Merlin had opened it herself. Finally, he saw what was inside: a glass orb, and it shone as if absorbing all of the light that surrounded them, but why didn't this feel so magical? Everything felt so empty, and it looks like Lady Merlin did the same. "I'm disappointed at the caravan," she tried not to express anger so that she may be beautiful until the end, all these vanities in return for a reward. At least, the job has finally come to a halt. 1636/1500 北正美 |
