The evening had pretty much ended by this point. Oak's only illumination came from the moon and the various lamps that were set up on the streets. The street Zane was currently walking on had less lamps than usual, perhaps on account of it being a neighborhood that was seemingly half-abandoned. Various closed down shops were on either side of the streets, some of the lamps not even being lit properly. At this point the moonlight was doing more work than them. "By the way, if you're always so bored... why not go to the busy part of town where everything is instead of wandering around these empty places?" Zane stopped. Zane blinked. He didn't want to admit it to Beelzebub's smug ass, but the demon had a point. Zane had never even considered it, honestly. Smiling at the thought of going somewhere in which things actually happened, Zane prepared his right heel to turn around so that he could make his way towards downtown. And that's when it happened. In the corner of his eye, Zane saw something - someone, that made him rethink his choice. It was perhaps the one man's most glaring weakness, and that would most definitely end up killing him indirectly in some fashion - pretty girls.
Zane sped his pace up, Beelzebub quickly becoming aware of what was happening. "Zane! Stop! Don't do it! I was so proud of you! Go back to having reason!" But it was too late. Beelzebub knew it was too late. Zane's IQ had already dropped by at least 15 points within the last minute and it was steadily continuing that downward trend. Beelzebub simply just sighed inside of Zane's head as he prepared himself for the second hand embarrassment that would follow. "Ahem." Zane cleared his throat as he approached the elf (half-elf, maybe?) girl, only now being able to tell her race now that he had gotten closer. Only a few meters separated the two now. A smile on his face, Zane looked toward the girl with eyes that showed nothing but confidence.
"..." Zane just realized he hadn't thought of anything else to say. He had the 'ahem' part down - it got someone's attention, it made him look more intelligent, it took very little effort - but that was it. He forgot that 'ahem' usually led into something else, something more interesting. "Pretty late out. You interested in hiring a bodyguard? I know these streets very well." Zane asked, those being the first words to come to mind. In truth it had been because of a book involving a bodyguard that Zane had been reading lately. Beelzebub was especially surprised at Zane's choice of words, though approved of them as it was a chance for the two of them to earn money. Maybe the blonde man was useful after all... "Err, first time is free of course." Zane noted, not wanting to miss his chance in the case the girl couldn't pay. Beezlebub felt disappointed again, though at this point he shouldn't of been surprised.
On second though, maybe Beelzebub was right. Maybe this wasn't a good idea. Deciding that for once in his life Zane shouldn't just throw himself in front of any girl and do stupid things for no reason, he turned around and went to go do something more productive......... probably.
