The location was considered. After all, it was in a very well-defended location. The mountains were so steep that merchants with carts had a difficult if not impossible time getting up the treacherous terrain. If people wanted to sell their wares, they had to go by foot. So, it was not difficult to imagine that traders foreign to the mountainous city were few and far between. Even so, the town did a good job at generating its own income. It was rich with minerals and other natural resources. Not only did it generate income for the city with ease, but it gave plenty of employment opportunities to many of the folks residing there.
But unfortunately, just because there were lots of opportunity for employment, that did not mean there were lots of opportunities to earn a stable income. Myras was divided into three districts that were representative of the upper, middle, and lower class citizens.
