Hair: White/Pale Blue Eyes: Scarlet Overall: Klay is a fairly tall, well built young man. Despite his height and frame however he isn't necessarily imposing; the relaxed and sometimes lackluster way he carries himself helps to almost shrink him in the perception of others. It's only when he stands tall or gets noticeably excited that his presence seems to actively manifest. In his free time he tends to dress down; cheap clothes, simple colors and not much in the way of accessories. What he does usually have on his person is a silver ring with a blue gemstone at its center and a simple engraved chain. Extra: A large scar extending from his left jaw down to his neck. PERSONALITY Personality: Klay portrays himself as a relatively carefree individual. He tends to approach most tasks and life in general with a certain casual demeanor. He takes orders well enough and usually doesn't allow his behavior to slide into problematic territory. Those who meet him note that he is fairly friendly and even helpful if the task isn't extreme. Even to people that find themselves on the wrong end of a conflict with him he offers as much respect as he can afford on a battlefield. However, where needed Klay does his best to behave as the pragmatist. He wastes no time in assessing a situation and coming to what he believes to be the most expedient or profitable solution available. This part of his personality is based less on natural leaning and much more on lessons learnt throughout life. He believes it's almost impossible to get it all and that, depending on what is desired, a meaningful sacrifice has to be made or the chance of success will always be 0. This leads into the final part of his personality, a willingness to sacrifice and a certain lack of his own care. If Klay thought he could achieve everything he wants at the cost of death he would gladly pay that price. He has no qualms about throwing himself into the worst of it to ensure his ideals are upheld. To sum up Klay, he isn't bothered by much in life and so he can afford to be helpful to those around him. He does his best to be kind if only by not being actively cruel. However when it comes to his personal goals he doesn't hesitate to sacrifice whatever is necessary to achieve them. Or at the very least it has never been an issue before. Likes:

This allows them to boost their physical stats by mimicking some properties of light as well as release light beams in destructive ways. When a spell is cast the affected body part glows golden. HISTORY History: Klay was born in Bosco, the son of officials in the logistics division of her armies. He grew up largely under the structured and ordered life that most people in Bosco did, only occasionally hearing of the stories and legends of Fiore from his mother. Life was never easy by any means, but for the most part it was fair. Hard work was rewarded, talent was cultivated and for those with the proper ambition, nothing was out of reach. Klay's childhood was all told average, no great secrets, no legendary revelations, no great tragedies. In fact his life went as well as one could hope all things considered. Perhaps it was this rather average life that caused Klay to grow up without a firm grasp of consequence. He was forever idealizing a life beyond Bosco; a life where he was the main character and could go on grand adventures as a hero or great man; compare that to his life of (relative) safety where his lot in life is to do his part. It was rather stifling; especially as his mother loved to tell him of such romanticized fables as the 10 Wizard Saints or the likes of Fairy Tail. By the time he was 15 he had begun to get into some trouble; he seemed to go out of his way to constantly chase some form of thrill, or else prove something to those around him. It all came to a head when he was 19, by then he'd been slowly pulled into the underground of Bosco where he would do odd jobs every so often while playing an average man during the day. But one day he messed up, badly. Enough that his very life was on the line. He had no way to pay for the cost of his failure and so, his one time bosses turned him into a puppet for Red Mantis. His name was Araken and his magic was based around control through needles inserted into the body. For years Klay would be subject to this insidiously dark magic, forced to do horrible things under threat of harm or direct death via the needles. He was forced to hurt people, kill people and witnessed endless atrocities for years. All the while his debt seemed to only go up with interest and never down. Eventually his own magic manifested fully and he was able to use it to purge himself of the curses that plagued him but the damage had been done. His forced criminal activities and ever growing debt made him a marked man both of the Empire and it's criminal underbelly. Nowhere was safe and so he ran to the only other place he had known from stories. Fiore. Upon reaching the borders he abandoned his last name and snuck in amongst the refugees of another Bosco war. He would have plenty of time to reflect on the how and the why of his life and the place it had ended. He had to take responsibility and so he began again, joining the Rune Knights in a bid to gain connections, gear and training for his eventual rematch with the Red Mantis.
