With a huff and few audible grunts, Jikan was once again on her way to returning to the doctor located in the farmlands of Baska, Doctor Gerald. She was bumming around the open roads of the backwoods of Baska again, this time pulling a hefty wagon containing boars. Jikan had just completed the task of bringing back some boar to the doctor's office so he could run some tests on it and find out the cause of the disease. Maybe the doctor could even find a vaccine, better yet, maybe he would find a cure. But that was something she would have to wait to see. When she brought the boars back to the doctor's office, the doctor had informed Jikan the procedure might not take long and to stick round town for as long as she could. She shrugged, "Sure Doc".

She did not really have anything planned so she decided to go out and hang out around the farmlands for a little while. A cool breeze, soft grass, some shade, the perfect environment to get some relaxation going. Getting herself comfy by a section of open grass she laid on her back drinking a bottle of water that she had. She figured she would just wait it out for the results and hoped it would not take days or she would have to find herself a place to stay. A difficult matter possible given the fact that, well, she was in the outskirts.

Where to here knowledge had no inns or other places to rest.

However that would all depend on how long the doctor would take, and she continued to ponder on this. However, as soon as that thought crossed her mind, a messenger had appeared for her, delivering a letter. It was a kid, and he did not even question if the letter was for her. She could not tell if the people in the area were getting familiar with her and did not question of recognizing her, or if it was just her hair, after all, not many people had the standout hair color that she did. Either way, this was the message was for her and she might as well see what it was. With a quick flick of her wrist she tore she tore it open to see what was sent to her. Turns out the doctor had finished examining the boar and found the source of what was causing living creatures to go mad and to meet him in somewhere off in the distance of the land.

...he could have just told me this here. why the need for secrecy??

This felt a little off but whatever. She would meet the doctor. Getting up off the glass, she dusted off the small pieces of grass on her dress and made her way, leaving the lushish green field she was in. With the shape Jikan was in. and the added gift of wind magic giving a boost in her steps.

Jikan did not take long to get to the spot.

Her trip ended up feeling it was not far from where she was and she got there in what felt like a matter of moments. When she arrived, she saw Gerard in normal clothing which was kind of odd to him as he's always met him dressed as a doctor garbs.

Standing in the far off distance, Jikan would see the doctor that she had grown to work will at the top of a hill, looking outward towards the sky as the sun was setting. Jikan took the trek up the hill, taking the leisure minutes to reach the top. Once there she walked up next to the doctor. Jikan looked at him, wondering what was going on. Why were they here? There was silence for a few moments before Gerard asked Jikan if she had heard about a gang called the Cold Collier's gang. Jikan just simply shook her head side to side in response. After which Gerard had looked around the area again as if he was being watched but could not pinpoint by who before explaining himself. According to Gerard, he explains that ever since they first made an impact on Baska, he has had a great deal of mistrust towards the Cold Collier's gang, as their leader harbors a great deal of resentment towards the city due to a mining accident years ago, in which many men died under a pretense of receiving a large sum of jewels when they finished.

An objective she knew she had to do, and so she started to head to this cave where the doctor was talking about where the source of their water had lain. Exiting town, Jikan followed the directions she was given by her client and made her way towards a cave that had a largely hidden spring deep inside of it.

I see....I do not blame him or them at all for being mad if the families did not receive what was promised and were broken up...

Beyond that mistrust was good news, he had discovered the source of the plague originated at a water source, from which all of Baska's drinking water flows. After he was done with his little history briefing, he asked Jikan to go to this very water source. From his knowledge and guess to pinpoint it, it was hidden deep inside a cave. But he had an additional task instead of simply going there and verifying if the water was contaminated, the doctor wanted Jikan to find out if the Cold Collier's are doing anything remotely suspicious. She was to report any info she got back to him. He did not want Jikan to engage them or anything like that if his guess was true, only to just observe their actions and whereabouts.

Jikan thought it was strange that he could pinpoint the exact location of where the water came from but maybe the doctor was just that good and much of a hard worker.

But the speed at which this happens was still...odd. But regardless, she had to be honest, she was curious about the situation herself and she wanted to find a way to end this plague over these people, mainly the kids. So with Gerard done talking, Jikan now had an objective in mind.

She walked light footed as she made her way closer and closer, slowly sneaking her way in.  She had decided before hand to remain out of sight by the potential workers that may or may not still be around maintaining the place. Her goal was to watch, gather info, and find out if the Cold Collier gang was the source of the events recently, and to get to the source of the town's water to investigate. Jikan pondered at what she should do for the time being. Arriving at this, she figured the best thing for her to do was to stay in the shadows, find a crevice to hide in, and stay there until she found some motion to follow or when she figured it was time to leave.

And so, the waiting game began. With a little work, she found a few rocks large enough for her to squeeze between, Jikan began to relax along the sides of the wall. Killing time was not easy for her, so she was stuck breathing, twiddling her thumbs, and just her thoughts. But even with those she was listening, trying to be aware. A static facial expression was on her face and her features hid under the shade of the natural darkness of the cave.

Her eyes periodically emerging briefly as she did so, thinking about what would be, what was heard. The time passed seemed like minutes, then into turned into hours. The sounds of just random water drips, insects, or tiny animals.

She was patient, she was calm, and she felt she was not getting tired at all so far. But, she could also feel her body going stiff, squeezed between a rock and, well another rock, making this a real hard place.  But she could not really pull herself out of her spot, she had a job to do. Even more so when she began to sense a duo of people come in with a bottle of strange contents, opening it and dumping it into the drinking water before skid daddling their way out of there. She had an assumption about what was going on there, and it hurt her core internally to sit there and watch. She had to just bite her lip, literally.

But when they were out of sight and ear shot, she did pull herself out from between the gap, dusting off her clothing and going to investigate. Jikan quickly made her way to the water source, the scent alone made her sure that they indeed did something to it. The color change as well, but that was slowly changing and appeared to be going back to normal water. With a growl she knew she was done here, she followed the duo the way they went out without raising suspicion and decided to head back to Baska as the request of her client only said to tail them to see if they were in fact the ones dumping in the water.

She was not really sure if it was the gang he had mentioned because she did not see any markers for them. So she would just report what she could.

Making it back to the farmland area, she hoped to find the client in the usual meeting spot but he was not currently present there. She knew she had knocked on the door and said she was coming in so she was sure if he was present he would know it was her. She was beginning to think of leaving the clinic and going back to the general area they were in before to find him. However, she soon heard a shout of just one minute and a few clanking noises before the doctor came out of a room, appearing to be tired from physical work and from some reason a comedic assortment of medical tools on him as if they had fallen on him. The doctor seemed pressed today so she would get straight to the point for the doctor.
She informed the doctor of everything that transpired, he paused for a moment before nodding silently and giving jikan her payment, putting a small coin pouch of money in her hands. With a smile and a nod Jikan thanked the doctor than turned away. "Doc...I think you should tell me more about this gang in the future...I'm feeling that there is more here that you are not telling me". The doctored took a few seconds before giving a nod, and with that, Jikan was on her way, back to the town to get some rest.
