The tired Maneki found himself more tired than he ever was. It wasn't supposed to be this way, he was a stray cat and the most jobs he had done in a day before was sit inside a shop and call customers inside, like a lucky cat would do. However, until going to Olly's Cake Shop, Maneki has been exerting so much physical pressure that he hardly knows himself now. He was given the money to purchase bread and pastries so that he may bring them back to Fairy Tail for an afternoon feast. It's almost evening, too, so it was a good idea to patch up some bread, tea, and wine but... it really had to be Maneki. Was it because he was the newbie of the guild? Unfortunately, that might be the case. The wind chimes tingled and it had the same keys as the clothes shop Maneki visited a while ago. It felt slightly nostalgic, but it also annoyed Maneki quite a bit. The chimes kept reminding him of Joya despite knowing all too well that he wasn't in that same place. He held the money out until he reaches the counter, not remembering a slight bit about the names of the bread that they ordered through Maneki. "U-Uhh..." he muttered out as his eyes ventured to check up on the displayed pastries. He was about to gamble his chances, except the receptionist was familiar of the Nekomata. "Maneki, right?" they asked, catching the Nekomata's attention, wherein they'd nod and agree. "I heard about you!" Oh Illumin, please don't be about my heroic acts, surprisingly, it isn't about his heroic acts! The receptionist slash patisserie smiled at Maneki, gently slamming a hand over his shoulder and smiling at the small neko. "I've got business for you, you don't have to do much," he said, and his words tasted as sweet as the displayed pastries. "What is it?" his mood lit up, Maneki was interested. Without getting direct answers, the receptionist held Maneki's shoulders and then dragged him outside, right beside the entrance door. "Be a good boy and do your job as a luck cat," they said, leaving Maneki outside. The Nekomata watched the receptionist leave, and now Maneki was once again a stray cat. Huh, it didn't feel as bitter as now. Maneki blinked twice (kind of), "Okay, then. Time to show them my potential!" He raised an arm then swung it back and forth, like an actual maneki-neko, except this one was broken and that the swinging of arms was in an overly passed phase. After a few seconds, a wave of Fiorian men came from nowhere, running to Olly's Cake Shop and pushing the door open. Ah, Maneki was the lucky cat that brings customers inside the shop he is in—doing this sort of thing still works out, apparently. Now, the cake shop was filled with customers and even Maneki was amazed at himself. The right arm was swingin' but inevitably, it got tired so Maneki decided to swing the left one and suddenly... the cake shop exploded of money overload. This is still the sort of thing to be happy about, right? 530/500 招き |
