Several Years Ago

A thumping sound could be heard as Ariael felt himself being carried. His arms and legs were shackled and his head aimed towards the ground. At the moment he was being taken to the inner parts of Era's dungeon. It had been some time since he had been captured and his body had been severely weakened. If it were not for his gifts he would probably be missing some limbs. The chains that held his arms and leg made a sound with every step. The sound of people screaming would cause him to raise his head slightly.

Ariael had now just entered the back of the dungeon where all the criminals who had been captured and processed were placed in. Looking around, Ariael knew that for some time he would be staying in the dungeon. Luckily for him he hadn't gained a very large bounty so he would only have to stay in jail for a week at most…

He wondered what had gone on with the individuals he had met up with in Orchidia. If he had remembered correctly only Miyamoto had a great bounty and was probably the one the Rune Knights were targeting specifically.

How long had it been since he had been captured? Weeks? Months? Truth be told, Ariael couldn’t tell. The black-haired man was sitting on the floor of a cell with his back against the wall. There was little to no light illuminating the room. The only form of it coming from a small latch on the door of the cell. Many mistakes had been made which had led to his arrest. Stupidity and impatientous being the main two. Both his hands and feet were shackled. Ariael's hair that was usually taken care of resembled a bird's nest. He smelled ironically of death and his body ached more than normal.

He hadn't eaten a meal since entering the jail, nor had he made conversation with any of the other inmates. The thoughts that raced through Ariael's mind simply made him unstable. The man didn't want to risk raising his sentence any higher because today was the day. For a long time he had time to think and time to iron out his plans even more. Even though he had been captured. Not much was known about him. It was mainly the reason why his sentence wasn't as high as others. A smirk appeared on the man's face as he waited for the guards to come make their rounds.

Finally he would be set free from the dungeon and be allowed back in the free world. As if on cue would he hear the sound of keys and various footsteps beginning making their way towards him.

"Yeah it looks like we have a couple people to release today. Go to cells 120, 187, 323, and 405." said the voice of a guard. The smirk would soon come to disappear from Ariael's face. One by one he could hear the sound of cells opening and the prisoners being escorted out. Not long would the guards approach his cells and finally open the door. The force of light that entered the room made Ariael raise his hands to his face.

"Well it is about time." said Ariael as he rose from the seated position. Two guards walked in his cell and would escort him out. Ariael was placed at the end of a line behind three other men. The sound of the metal chains scraping on the floor could be heard as the men and guards proceeded to walk out of the cell block. As they walked, whispers and shouts filled the corridor.

He even saw a few eyes peering through the gaps in the cell doors where food was placed. The man made sure everyone of them saw a middle finger as he walked out the door. They walked down many stairs and passed many cells before finally entering a processing area where their chains would be removed. Ariael thought it was quite stupid how jail handled its job, but who was he to question them. They were setting him free…

After their chains were removed, a door to the outside would open. Gathering his steps, Ariael made his way towards the door and soon would walk outside onto a street carved with cobblestone. The Mage Hunter had finally been set free back into the world. His hands would begin to massage his wrists as he watched the other three men leave in different directions. One even ran away. It was a funny site.

Wasting no time, Ariael would begin to walk towards the inner parts of Era City. "Asimov! To me!" said Ariael while shouting to the sky. He knew his intriguing companion didn't leave his side and probably patrolled the outside of the jail awaiting the day that he was released. The sound of robotic beeps could be heard growing closer and closer. Soon the machine would appear in the sky flying frantically in circles around the Mage Hunter.

'We've been separated far too long, my friend. I have to go collect my equipment from the holding center. After that we can make our way towards North Fiore." mumbled Ariael. Finding the place didn't take long. He saw two of the three guys who he had been released with making their way inside of the building. riael expected the place to be rather full, but after walking in it was quite the opposite.
