So many lost.. and it's my fault...
The Desiertan peered into the papers upon his desk with his back turned to the door. Each sheet either had a request or the information of the newest members. News had spread far and wide about Paradise Dawn and their fight to defend the North against giants. It was unheard of since the olden days. All he could think about is the amount of Paradise Dawn guild members that were lost in battle, how many people were killed and had to be sacrificed to see the mission through. The Sun eater was a son of war, but who knew that this could have triggered him like so? Was it because he was the leader that he felt so deeply about this?
Khalfani stood in the commanders office, rubbing his fingers through his hair, stressed, annoyed, but mostly frustrated with how things had been going so far. Sieghart was already in shambles following the giant attack just a few days prior. Nobody had the time to really recuperate and organize their own thoughts and now there was word of a group of the same types of monsters spotted outside of Sieghart mountains. Go figure. Luckily though, this time the giants weren't marching in the hundreds. Most likely these beasts were the ones that Paradise Dawn had missed. Still, it was enough to put Khal on edge. The power of these giants were as great as minor dragons and some of them even showed potential of being as strong as named dragons. It was bothersome to say the least. Hundreds of people from the city and Paradise had been lost. Some were killed defending the North and others were killed for simply minding their own damn business.
Khalfani sat on his desk, eyes drained of all life as he glared forward at his most comrades. These few people were the leaders of the guild, some showing up later than others like Cailyn, the older sister of Aeris who had fallen into a deep coma. Then there was Yori who had been quite new to the guild but had proven to be an asset despite whatever scale to measure power mages used these days saying otherwise. With these members in front of him Khal was confident that they could end this whole situation. It was a gordian knot and quite frankly, the rogue prince was tired of dealing with it. However, one thing was clear now, The North's defense system needed to be strengthened. Khal was on edge. Between the King sticking his nose everywhere, monsters popping up and the people of the North already restless and yearning for liberation, the giants wouldn't be the only quandary.
"I know we're all recovering from all this but we still got some cleanin' up to do. Giants have been spotted in Orchidia and Worth Woodsea. I thought that by destroying the source they'd all just vanish, but apparently that isn't how it works. It's my bad for allowing us to drop our guard so soon and believe me when I say it won't happen again. Virtually every creature has access to magic these days so we've got reason to believe that this is only the beginning of our fight to defend the North. After this, we'll celebrate our victory and after that, we'll come back stronger and more fearsome than ever. Never again will any being be able to penetrate our defenses, and if they do, I'll personally tear them limb from limb until there is nothing left. Any enemy that even thinks of threatening the North from here on out, will be obliterated with no remorse." Khal said as he clenched his jaws, eyes widened as he imagined his foes buckling at the knees before him, his tone as cold as ever. For a moment he looked unlike himself.
"We'll go out in teams of at least two. Take as many fighters as you all think you'd need. We can never be too sure about how this ends...and if any of you die... I'll take that as an act of betrayal." Khalfani said as he threw his cloak over his body. There was work to be done.
