Yuurei

There was one person who had been fighting Yuurei since he started training. This man he was sure would continue to grow as they spar. This was amazing to see someone like him become stronger with every passing time. Today was a new day for growing stronger, and the guild master had sent word to Brone. He wanted him to meet him at the training dome. It would be perfect for them to see how strong they’ve become since they fought last time.

Yuurei’s outfit was his normal fighting clothing. It was relaxing and didn’t restrain him from moving the way he wanted. His gauntlet was on his right hand as he had yet to acquire a weapon for his left hand. The Nephilim was sure he would find one for him one day. Renji was sitting down on the side of the training dome. He wasn’t going to participate in this fight but watch everything unfold.

He wasn’t sure what Brone was capable of now, but he figured that their battle would allow him to understand what his friend had been doing. Yuurei was stretching before Brone’s arrival and once he was done, he would stare at the entrance.

“I wonder how long this fight is going to last. I’m sure he has better equipment than he did last time.” He said to Renji.

“Well whatever he has I wonder who will become the victor of this bout.” He said to Yuurei.

Yuurei had gotten fairly stronger, but was it enough to defeat one of his closest friends?

Brone Heavyaxe
Once Brone Heavyaxe managed to fasten his new golden armor upon himself, he turned to the mirror and smiled at his reflection. He had definitely improved and he was sure it will show in the new battle. Then his sight went to his new blade -Spellcleaver, the way the axe looked, it radiated with an aura that even fighters who lacked magic would pick up on. The dwarf grasped the handle of his new weapon and as he lifted it, he felt the weight. He swung it threw the air, hearing the beautiful whistle as it cut through the emptiness in front of him, "Let us show Yuurei how you fair" He smiled at his blade. He then picked up his golden Beowulf axe, "Don't think I forgot about you" he told it with a smile before he walked off and out the door to his room.

Eventually he made it to the training dome and once inside he spotted Yuurei, not surprised at all, "Here we are, once again" he said as he walked across the dome's open field and reached his friend, "Though things have been happening, I didn't doubt for a moment that would stop you from requesting sparring matches" He smiled at Yuurei while he began to stretch. Even though he felt very confident in his ability, he wasn't sure whether or not he would be able to surpass the half-elf this time, though Yuurei looked the same and was using the same weapon, it could be very possible that the half-elf had grown twice as strong compared to the last time they fought. Either way, the only way to find out is a battle.

Yuurei

Yuurei would smile at his friend when he heard his words. They were back at it again and he didn’t hate it at all. This was something he enjoyed, and honestly every time he fought Brone he saw that the Dwarf was becoming stronger and stronger. That was good because he needed to make sure that he kept getting stronger. He didn’t know what kind of danger would come in the future, and they had to be prepared. He would crack his neck as he would hear Brone’s words, and he was right.

“You got new toys I see. I also got some new stuff as well.” Yuurei would put on the mask that would cover his face.

His body was clad in armor, he had two gauntlets on his hands, one that Brone always so and a golden one that looked exactly like the other. He wasn’t sure how that came to be, but they were indeed a pair. His necklace was around his neck and he finally to push it the bracelet around his wrist.

He wasn’t sure what his friends’ new weapons could do, but he figured he would be the one to start this off. The light mage would move to the side of Brone as he would kick up his acceleration. He moved fast, but within four seconds he was at max speed. The light mage was closing the distance between them, but while doing so, he felt his speed was not what it usually was.

He looked over to Brone as he could see that he was emitting a chilled aura around him. That was nuts because it seemed like if he stood close to him, he would go through this the enter time. The light mage was indeed excited that his friend had gotten upgraded, but he wasn’t the only one. He would take on the speed decrease from the dwarf as he was still quick on his feet. Yuurei’s eyes would glow yellow, and wings would come out from his back as he closed the gap between the two of them.

Yuurei would make it in front of Brone. Brone would feel weaker as well as his attributes would all decrease by 10% towards their base. He knew what the dwarf might do, and he was welcoming it. He had a smirk on his face as he would strike with his Midas Gauntlet toward Brone’s shoulder, and at the same time, he would combo the attack with his Kami no Chikara towards Brone’s chest. The blow toward his shoulder would deal 3 S rank damage unless he hit the armor, which would then deal 2 S rank damage.

As for the blow to Brone’s chest, if he had been allowed to hit, Brone would feel the pain all over his chest as Yuurei wouldn’t damage his armor but pierced through it and hurt his constitution for 3 S rank damage.

Brone Heavyaxe
Brone had laughed and flexed to show off his new gear as Yuurei commented about it, but as he had gotten closer, he noticed Yuurei had put on a mask and he himself had new items, including a second gauntlet, "I guess I'm not the only one with new toys" though he chuckled as he said this, it worried him. Yuurei had always been the type of mage who would use his own brute physique and magic to powerful himself up, never truly relying on items save for the gauntlet, and with such a lack of items, the half-elf had proven very powerful in his right, but now he had his own trinkets, no doubt enchantment with wonderous magic.

As the dwarf drew both his battleaxes, the blue helmet began to emit a chilling cold that surrounded the area around Brone. Before he could say he was ready, Yuurei already kicked off, running towards the dwarf. Brone was surprised by the increase in speed, but he had expected there would be a jump in Yuurei's skills. Because of this, he figured he would have a difficult time trying to dodge any hits, so he figured he would move in and counter while taking the hits straight on, but not without tightening his defense. "Frost Action" The golden armor Brone wore quickly produced a layer of ice over itself, increasing it's defense.

Though Yuurei was slowed due to the cold air, his speed was awe inspiring. Once he closed the distance, Brone began swing both his weapons in a swiping arc in the same direction. The new golden gauntlet slammed into the shoulder of the golden armor, Gold upon Gold, though the armor was sturdy, the layer of ice quickly shattered and the blow left a dent. Beowulf's axe would be the first to hit then dealing 3x A rank damage if it connects to the Yuurei's side, then after, the familiar gauntlet that Brone knew all too well would slam into the armor, protecting him... But it didn't.

The gauntlet slammed into Brone's chest and felt the entire thing, he didn't even hear sound of metal hitting metal. Some how Yuurei managed to bypass the armor even though the dwarf's torso was completely covered. Though the hit was powerful, Brone stood his ground and continued with his swing, his Spellcleaver would then attempt to strike at Yuurei's side as well, dealing 3x A rank damage if it connects.

The fight as begun, the first exchanged as happened and the two have now seen a fraction of their friends' progress.

Yuurei

Yuurei’s attack had connected, but at the same time, it seemed like Brone had done something interesting. That armor of his was different or at least something he wore was different. He had called upon a frost barrier around him. It had to be magic, so Yuurei had used the power of Mida’s gauntlet and activated its nullification powers. This would turn the frost layer around Brone’s armor to gold and explode into dust. This meant that his attack would have dealt 2 S rank damage. Still, it also meant when his gauntlet hit the armor, it would lose 2 S rank in durability as well. The light mage would notice this right away as he was too close to Brone to pay attention to anything but him. When his second punch hit, it would seem like it would deal damage to Brone. When he saw Brone grunt in pain, he noticed that he was able to take the pain.

The Nephilim knew that he couldn’t push the dwarf back with his attacks, so he didn’t try. Still, his eyes were alert. Yes, he could see and knew how his friend was going to attack. It was going to be blow for blow again, and that much he knew. He couldn’t allow that right? Yes, the berserker had to do something about it. He would turn his body, so his side was facing the direction of Brone and his body was closer to his Spellcleaver than his Beowulf.

He would feel the blow from Brone’s Spellcleaver Axe on his armor and he would rotate out of the way of Beowulf’s attack. He had been hit by one of the dwarf’s axes and he wouldn’t be able to see it, but the damage had been done to his armor. He would look over to his Midas gauntlet and notice that it was cracked a lot and that Brone’s armor had something special about it. That was crazy and it would seem like Brone’s armor had done something to his weapon at hand.

Yuurei was now about seven meters away from Brone as he looked at his friend with a serious look on his face.

“I see you have some nice tricks up your sleeve. I didn’t expect a frost barrier from your armor. I got to be more careful.” He wasn’t sure what to do, but he couldn’t blindly attack that armor of his like before.

Yuurei wasn’t sure what to do, but he knew that his gauntlet couldn’t take another shot. He had to get rid of the armor first and he knew how. It was risky, but he was going to have to try it out and see where it would lead to.

The Nephilim would close the distance between them in just a second now and he would swing a quick jab with his Kami no Chikara. This time, his gauntlet wouldn’t phase through but would go straight for his armor. He was sure that his armor would be ready to crack, and the rest of it would go onto him. His left hand wouldn’t move in for a blow, so that way he could do something with Brone’s attacks.

#6Brone Heavyaxe

Dawn's Sword Vs. Dawn's Shield (Green) Empty Fri May 27, 2022 8:46 pm

Brone Heavyaxe
The first axe landed true, damaging Yuurei's armor, though the dwarf was intending on completely shattering it, the second axe missed. The half-elf had sidestepped, avoiding the blade, then taking distance away at about seven meters, giving a chance of breath for the both of them. This gave Brone some time to think about the altercation; the golden gauntlet Yuurei had on his left hand not only shattered the layer of ice over the Face of the Mountain armor, but damaged the armor itself greatly as if the extra layer had no effect.

Brone looked down at his armor to see where pieces of ices should be, instead were pieces of gold. Initially, the dwarf thought the ice had vanished and the pieces of golden that fell upon the ground were part of his golden armor, but taking another look, he spotted some pieces of the gold had spikes resembling those of the layer of ice that usually produced when the spell Frost Action is activated. Then he realized it, somehow that golden gauntlet had turned the layer of ice into gold, making it malleable, and Brone knew well about true gold being such a weak metal, which is why his own armor had only a layer of gold over the armor's true material: Reinforced steel. He then spotted Yuurei's gauntlet which was now cracked, damaged from Face of the Mountain's Bite Back ability, but the fact that it wasn't completely destroyed, meant that the gauntlet as well wasn't fully gold, or at least solely gold.

"My tricks aren't only my tactics, but now they are hidden on my person" Brone chuckled as he watched the winged demi-angel. Though the being before him is angelic and divine, otherworldly, the voice and the fighting style was that of Yuurei, the half-elf was behind that mask and the dwarf couldn't deny that, "I didn't expect you to be able to turn things to gold" though the dwarf laughed out right, he was concerned; one gauntlet was able to turn things to gold and the other was able to somehow bypass his armor, striking true to his body. Clearly it was magic, but the actual question was how to go about it?

Brone's answer was clear: Just bite the blade and strike; there was no attempting to dodge attacks, for Yuurei was too fast to avoid. Though taking attacks head-on was dangerous, the dwarf had no choice but to rely on his own body to handle the next few blows while he tried to land his own hits.

Then Yuurei moved in within a blink of the eye. Brone was ready, so he immediately reacted by swinging both his axes, planning on taking Yuurei's hits head-on. Then the Chikara gauntlet managed to land upon the golden armor, shattering it to pieces and slamming into the dwarf's chest, but the smaller fighter kept the momentum going with the swinging of both his axes. Brone intended on striking at Yuurei's body, if the armor was caught, then so be it, so long as it's destroyed and he could expose Yuurei's chest.

Yuurei

Yuurei had heard Brone’s words and he wasn’t wrong about his tactics belonging to him as a person. He was happy that his friend enjoyed his new items, but their battle had to continue. When he got close, he would swing his fist straight at Brone. He understood there was something up with his friend’s armor, but he didn’t fully understand that it was a special ability of it. When he had landed his hit on Brone’s armor, it would shatter, but at the same time, he would notice something. He was back at it again and those damn weapons were coming straight for him.

He was planning on dodging again, but that would be hard. The light mage wasn’t sure if he could pull that off twice. Instead, he decided to do what he had planned to begin with. It was why he didn’t attack with his left hand and kept it at the ready. He would move towards the axe on Brone’s left, and he would feel the axe connecting to his armor. He felt the blow from the attack, and he could feel his armor breaking off.

It wasn’t just that, but he had also felt the effects that the armor had given him wear off as well. It was a shame, but his armor had done its job. While he leaned towards the axe on Brone’s left his body would tilt, so that Brone’s second axe would meet against his helmet. The axe would bang on Yuurei’s helmet, and he would stumble back and away from Brone now that his attack had gone through. Now with both of their armor gone, the two would only have their helmets left.

Yuurei did have his necklace left, but he wasn’t going to allow that to break. He would crack his neck a bit as he was trying to figure out what to do next.

“Sacrifices are to be made, and I see you know what to do Brone. I don’t like your armor; it is a scary thing. Still, your arsenal seems freaking impressive, and I’m learning about my own items as well.” He said to Brone as he was focused on him.

Yuurei felt the damage to his helmet as he looked at Brone perfectly. He noticed that his Kami no Chikara was damaged, but not as bad as his Midas Gauntlet. He would get ready to strike though as he wasn’t going to wait for Brone to attack. He knew if he did, then he would be waiting forever for him to make a move.

The Nephilim was ready, and he would rush straight toward Brone. His first attack would be with that of his Kami no Chikara which would aim straight for Brone’s head. The Midas gauntlet was next as it would aim straight for Brone’s abdomen. He was hoping that the first attack would bring Brone’s attention away from the second attack, which was coming from below. He could only wonder what his partner in crime would be able to do at this moment.

#8Brone Heavyaxe

Dawn's Sword Vs. Dawn's Shield (Green) Empty Sat May 28, 2022 11:45 pm

Brone Heavyaxe
The first axe shattered Yuurei's armor and the second was intercepted by the mask of the half-elf. Even though the mask cracked, it was surprising that it was sturdy enough to be able to take on a full strike from the dwarf's battleaxe. Yuurei stumbled back and Brone took his own step back. Now both of them had lost their body armor.

There they were, in the middle of the battle dome, facing off against one another, a familiar thing in general, but the fact that Yuurei has proven to be stronger and yet Brone managed to survive this long without pulling any of his old tricks meant that he too had grown in his fighting prowess. Not only that, but here was Yuurei, standing before the dwarf while in his full 'Nephilim form' as the half-elf tends to call it. Brone felt honored that Yuurei would use his full strength against him and felt proud of himself to be able to be considered such a valuable opponent. It brought a smile to the dwarf's face.

"Aye, tis a powerful piece isn't it?" Brone laughed as he looked down at the pieces of his Face of the Mountain armor, though damaged and in pieces, it was still salvageable to be repaired, a great thing about having access to a blacksmith and mending magic within accessible reach, "Well yer angel form is pretty damn impressive, Yuurei" he pointed out, though giving a compliment, he was mainly concerned. The power of the transformation he was able to see was enough to take down a dragon, he knew he had to be be serious within all his fights with Yuurei, though he had never let his guard down during any of their fights.

Yuurei moved in and Brone was ready, gripping the handles of his axes, he planned on trying to out damage Yuurei as well as relying on his own body's sturdiness to remain in the fight, but given how exposed they both are, Brone knew he had to try and intercept one of his attacks and hopefully destroy at least one of those gauntlets, but the problem was that Yuurei, especially in his Nephilim form, is incredibly fast. Hopefully the spell he's about to use will work, Brone was still getting use to casting magic through his equipment.

Just as Yuurei moved forward, the dwarf raised his golden axe into the air and called out "Cold King's Edict!" as he swung the axe downward before the half-elf, but not to attack him, but to activate the spell which erupted in a blast of icy wind that spread out like a quick gust spreading outward up to 50 meters. Now if the spell hit Yuurei, then he would be slowed enough for Brone to hopefully see his attacks more clearly, then he'll swing his other axe, Spellcleaver to strike at Yuurei's favored weapon, the Chikara gauntlet, not only to deflect the attack, but hopefully to destroy it. Though he was in mid-swing, Yuurei's other hand, that flew under Brone's line of sight, slammed into his stomach without him releasing the attack was attempt until it hit, but Brone didn't care, he took the hit, and as his vision blurred, he fought through the pain and refocused himself, still aiming his spellcleaver to strike at the incoming Chikara gauntlet.

Yuurei

Yuurei would hear his friend’s compliment on his transformation. He was glad that his friend enjoyed his transformation, but one thing he didn’t do was use his true transformation on Brone. Still, he figured if his friend wanted him to use it, then he would give him what he wanted. It would have to wait if he would be able to withstand this hit right here. When he got close to him, Yuurei’s eyes were focused on exchanging blows, and that he would do. His eyes watched the axe come up, but he heard his friend yell out a move.

The air was really cold as it would spread throughout the dome. It made Yuurei colder than he was throughout this entire fight. It wasn’t just that, but he felt stiffer than before. It wasn’t enough o make him feel like he was slower than he already was though. Brone’s equipment had special abilities and it made Yuurei happy to see this. It was also a bit scary to know that Brone was getting physically stronger, and hell he was able to take on more hits than anything. It was interesting, to say the least, and he would see that Brone had swung his axe straight onto his Kami no Chikara.

When it happened, both their weapon would take damage. Yuurei’s Kami no Chikara would take 3 A rank worth of damage and Yuurei could see that it was about to give out at any given time. Brone’s axe would take damage on it as well as take the same amount of damage as Yuurei’s favored gauntlet. The berserker was impressed with his friend for what he had done, but he was more impressed that he took his hit, and he was able to stand up after it. It wasn’t just that, but the man wasn’t hindered by the attack, and he remember that there was a time when it would.

Yuurei found himself moving back from the exchange of blows now as he would look over at his friend with a smile on his face. This was impressive and he loved the fight that they were having. It was beautiful and it allowed them to see where they needed to grow as fighters. As he was now seven meters away from him, he would say something before giving it his all on his attacks.

“Brone I got to say I’m impressed with your growth and I expect more from you next time. I want you to study the equipment you got, hopefully, you have more items for our next fight. I think with your equipment, you will possibly be able to take me out.” He said to Brone as he would applaud him for everything he had done in his fight.

Yuurei would transform even more as he would have his iron maiden on, but a new mask would cover his face. It wasn’t just that, but the dwarf would have seen him becoming taller and his wings becoming bigger. When he was done with that, Yuurei decided to move forward and toward Brone hopefully one last time.

When he got close to him, Yuurei didn’t care about what Brone would do. He would take the hit straight on, but he was making sure that this next attack would go through. The light mage would have both of his hands come straight toward Brone as he had thrown a double jab right on his friend’s stomach once again. He was doing his best to make sure that he couldn’t to his attack on time. It was also something he had never really done before in their fight. If the attacks connected, then Brone would take 3 A rank damage from each gauntlet and knock him out.

Dawn's Sword Vs. Dawn's Shield (Green) Empty Sun May 29, 2022 10:07 am

Brone Heavyaxe
Though his axe had connected and both the weapon and the gauntlet had clashed, three things were wrong of Brone's assumption: His spell, though powerful, did not slow Yuurei enough, the half-elf's speed was still superb; the second was Yuurei's special gauntlet, it didn't shatter, though it was very much damaged.

Yuurei had took distance again. The exchange didn't amount to much for Brone, but he still stood his ground, albeit barely; his legs were shaking, a bead of sweat dropped from his brow as his body was ready to turn in for the day. "Hope ye ain't trying to butter me up, Yuurei" he laughed, hearing the compliment, despite his own comment, he was impressed by his own growth and if his friend was right, then the dwarf was sure that he would be strong enough to not only protect the guild but those who cared about.

Now the third assumption was of Yuurei's full transformation. The moment the half-elf changed again, Brone realized he wasn't fighting at full strength after all. "That's fine, getting ye to transform partial is good enough for me" he laughed. Seeing the powerful and intimidating angelic form before him, Brone realized he wouldn't withstand the next blow. He laughed again, matching Yuurei's cheerful attitude that he always wore. This battle has shown them both how far they've come and they were satisfied enough and even though Brone knew he wouldn't win this, he didn't dare shame himself nor his friend by giving up. He planned on going all out.

Brone gripped his axes tightly before his raised them both into the air again, then he shouted "FOR GLORY!" His muscles tightened, his adrenaline kicked up and his heart hammered, his strength had increased. The moment Yuurei had moved in, the dwarf brought down his axes to try and strike the half-elf with a final hurrah.
Beowulf's Frenzy:

The two jabs were enough. The first had silenced everything for the dwarf, everything seem to slow down. Then the second jab caused a bone to crack. Brone wasn't sure if his axes hit at all, but what he did know was that he had lost, even before he had hit the ground.

Both Beowulf's axe and Spellcleaver dropped from the dwarf's hands, clattering onto the floor. There Brone stood, his legs shaking as he tried his best to remain standing, trying to either show how tough he was or retain some form of honor for his third loss, he wasn't sure. Either way, he forced a smile as he lifted his head to try and look at Yuurei. But he didn't get to see above his neck before he collapsed onto the ground.

Brone Heavyaxe had lost, but he had gotten so far from his starting point.

Yuurei

Yuurei knew that Brone would be the type to go in for a final attack. It would seem like he had used a spell that might have gotten him stronger. He wasn’t sure, but one thing he was confused about was that Brone should have used that before. It would seem like his friend was getting the hang of things with his weapon and fighting and that was good. He was hoping he would be able to master it in the future. When he had attacked, his focus never changed, but he did see the two axes coming straight down toward him. As they got close to him, he could feel the power behind the swing, and he knew that it would hurt.

Still, the impact would never occur, and it was simple. Yuurei was quicker and he had landed his hits on Brone first. This would allow things to smooth out from here. The berserker would Brone dropping his axes to the ground, and it would show that things were over now. His eyes looked at his friend as he took a jump back from him, and he would see that he was shaking and doing his best to hold himself up.

“You did well, but we need to work on our mistakes Brone.” He said this as he watched his friend hit the ground.

When Brone hit the floor, he would move over to him as he was done with this. He needed to go get his equipment repaired and he had to do the same thing about his friend. It wasn’t just that, but he was going to have to take Brone to the infirmary, so that way he could get patched up. Yuurei’s blows were nonlethal, but still the bruising he must have had through all of it was enough. He would pick up Brone’s gear and the dwarf on his shoulder.

“If you used your stuff better, I think you would have destroyed a lot more than just my armor.” He spoke to the unconscious body as he was leaving the training dome.

Brone Heavyaxe
Though Brone had hit the floor, he could still hear Yuurei, albeit the dwarf's consciousness was fading, even after losing he was still fighting to keep awake, since the beginning, he's been trying to better himself, to get stronger. Despite the hurdles the two of them have overcome, the fight had ended the same as it usually does and a part of Brone will be questioning whether or not he's made any difference, but in his state, as Yuurei picked him up and had carried him away, the dwarf wouldn't see the damage of the floor that was caused by their fight. Each strike from Yuurei was quick, though strong, his feet were light against the floor given his wings that allowed him to not be bound to the ground, but when it comes to the dwarf, every strike that was dealt to him, his body refused to move, so his own feet would press firmly against the ground, cracking against the pressure that each strike was dealt to the dwarf and from the dwarf.

It wouldn't be until the following day when Brone would awaken and visit the dome to collect the remaining pieces of his Face of the Mountain golden armor, that he would see the cracked floor, a big indicator that things may have changed between Yuurei and Brone, but the terrain around them would actually feel the difference from their strength compared to their previous selves. This would confirm their progress, and even though Brone acknowledged his growth, he thought about what he heard Yuurei said before he had lost consciousness. and he admitted he was right; he needed to know more about his weapons and train with them further, their abilities are indeed powerful, but like working along side a team, he needed to work with his axes as if they were his team, to work together and bring the best out of one another.
