There it was. The Hedj tower stood mighty in the kingdom of Nebu, glowing as if it was a building built by the gods themselves. Truly, it was a glorious sight. Hundreds of people stood off to the side as the nobles trailed into the building with their dates. Some were husbands and wives, others were simply people brought along for their date to feel good. Everyone was dressed in their finest attire. The nobles were adorned in gold jewelry and rare crystals. Khalfani despised them all. They were disgusting creatures who did nothing for themselves. It was despicable. The Ascended was different though. They consistently held themselves accountable when it came to their privilege. The Lion scoffed at the nobles plaguing the view. The commonfolk however, were in complete awe. They watched as each of them stepped through the door, cheering for Khalfani and their bride as they led the line. Some hated the idea of a Royal marrying a Guardian and displayed that by booing.

Yuurei was by their side as well as they walked into the building. As the prince, there were no strings that needed pulling, a demand would suffice every time. A lot of the people knew Yuurei too, cheering as he walked alongside the nobles for he was the most famous mage in Fiore. "How are you feeling?" Khalfani asked Yuurei. The bride on their arm had been smiling and speaking to some of the commoners who had called out to her. Both wore matching outfits. Khalfani wore a white skin tight shirt cut open around the torso, their golden crown sat comfortably atop their head. Nuru wore a white silk dress, her crown forged from twigs and dipped in gold sat atop hers.

There came a certain point where people just became annoying. All the cheering and yelling, Khalfani just couldn't wait for it all to be over. Xena stayed back at the villa because bringing her would have been a lot to worry about, plus she just wasn't good with large crowds. Even after all this time she still hadn't gotten used to it and Khalfani wouldn't blame her. "I'm fine, thank you Yuurei." She said with a smile. "I just want to get this over with." Khalfani rolled their eyes. "You look great though, my friend." They smiled, trying to ignore all the ruckus. "And you too Renji." they winked. The trio would get to the entrance if they continued forward, the giant doors wide open patrolled by guards. The inside was standard Desiertan architecture, if you were rich that is. People filled the halls immediately. Far off to the left side was a huge table full of all different types of cuisines. Still, Khalfani was not expecting to enjoy any of this.

The aroma of the Desiertan dished filled the air, elegant music was performed by a live band on the stage at the other side of the room. It was exactly what you'd think the inside of a fancy dinner party would look. Khalfani enjoyed the finer things in life, but this was just...boring to them. "Hm. I don't know why I expected more.." they said, almost disappointed. It was odd. Despite the fact that this was Khalfani's country, they felt like a stranger in the room. Nuru slipped her arm from under Khalfani's before turning to the two. "There's someone here that I need to talk to. You three, behave. Something tells me you're just trouble waiting to cause a mess." The Lady looked at Yuurei a little longer. There was this twinkle in her eyes that Khal wanted to erase from their memories. They raised an eyebrow. Nuru turned and walked away gracefully to talk to whoever the fuck. "Did my soon to be wife just flirt with you in front of me?"  

Khalfani shook their head with a laugh. That woman was definitely flirting with him and of course he could see the fuck why. It didn't bother the prince though, this marriage was forced onto both Nuru and themself. Yuurei mentioned the food, and boy was Khalfani hungry. As long as they stood with Yuurei maybe they stood a chance at avoiding conversation with any of these rich folks, at least for as long as they could. They knew it was only a matter of time before the people came over with their requests. Renji also expressed that he was hungry, even adding that Yuurei could learn how to cook Desiertan cuisine."Yuurei can cook? Are we talking about the same person? Wow, I would have never thought of you as a chef. Maybe we'll make you head of the Kitchen department." Khalfani teased with a toothy smile, revealing their fangs. Sometimes they forgot that they weren't entirely human.

"Alright, let's go eat. I gotta warn ya though, the food is usually extra spicy." they said as they began to walk over towards the far left to the food table. "And she was definitely flirting with you." Khal would nudge Yuurei playfully. Soon the trio would be at the dinner table. Platters of all kinds of Desiertan dishes took up a row of four tables. It was so much food that it may have been overkill. There were people outside of this tower, some were starving, but most couldn't afford any of the food in here. Khalfani wasn't going to complain though, they planned on changing things when they became ruler. "Oh my..." they whispered as they joined the end of the line. It was a long fucking line. So long, that Khalfani wasn't too keen on waiting, especially not if these pricks got to eat first.

Yuurei was too kind, it was almost unbearable. Khalfani had been dealing with assholes all their life aside from Odin, so even after all this time it would still take some getting used to. The Nephilim revealed that he was usually the reason he ate food at the guild, which was news to the commander. He expressed that while Nuru was indeed beautiful, he would never cross that boundary. Khalfani chuckled again. It may have been a good thing if Yuurei could keep her occupied, anything works really. If she was interested then Yuurei just would have to reject her straight out because Khal definitely didn't mind. "Trust me, I do not mind." the tucked their lips and looked down at the food once more. The line was going to take forever to move and quite frankly Khalfani just couldn't take it anymore. Besides, Renji was excited to eat too. They were probably the most important guests here contrary to what the rest of the folks in this room believed. Khalfani cleared their throat dramatically. "Ahem."

Suddenly the people on the line turned around and were met with khalfani's gaze. It was gentle, yet uncomfortably menacing. They seemed to have no idea that the Prince and their friends were the last in line. Most of them were surprised and quickly stepped aside, the other merely bowed and backed away graciously. With a nod Khalfani used their head to motion for Yuurei and Renji to follow them to the front of the line. This is why having power was...well...powerful? You could do things like this by simply just clearing your throat. The folks watched as the trio walked past, wondering how Yuurei, someone who obviously wasn't Desiertan, would be skipping all of them. The Light Bringer asked about the marriage, and Khalfani merely shrugged as they pointed to the food they wanted. The chef picked up a chicken breast smothered in Halal sauce. There was falafel, fried Kibbeh, Kababs, the whole nine. Most emanated a dramatic amount of heat, but Khalfani loved spicy foods and that they knew Yuurei did too they were certain he would enjoy.

"I'm a Godsblood Royal, potential candidate to be ruler of this country and she's one of the 8 Guardians with the Essence of Earth. The other Guardians are symbols of each element, Nuru can control them all. She's the most powerful Guardian and it's taboo to harm her. The Pharaoh thought it best to secure power this way. Tradition, politics, and all that. I hate that I have to do it, but I understand it." They said as they pointed to another food, finally moving down to pick from the other selections. "We only just met yesterday, heh." They said before turning to Yuurei. "I appreciate you coming by the way.

Yuurei had to have an endless pit for a stomach with the way he was just pointing at everything. Khalfani's eyes widened at the site, picking off of their own plate as they saw Yuurei's late fill with food. The chef was building a pyramid damn near. "Wha-" they began as the plate was built. Moments later all they could do was laugh to themselves. If Yuurei was happy, comfortable and content then Khalfani was too. Renji practically drooled as he watched the food. Khalfani had come from a background of survival, so they were used to not eating big portions of food. Although now that they were a dragon slayer they did has a boost in their appetite, but it was nothing like Yuurei's. By the end of the night Yuurei would probably explode from all the food he had eaten. The Nephilim later mentioned how he enjoyed to travel and seemed interested in learning the language. "oh, yeah. I have no problem teaching you." They offered warmly. How else would Yuurei understand when the natives were talking shit behind his back.

Yuurei continued. All this time Khalfani had only known that they were an Elf but they hadn't even bothered to ask about their other cultural heritages. "I'm sure they do. It's kinda the way of the world, unfortunately. Hopefully your family never marries you off. I'm sure your eyes are set on Haru." Khalfani placed a piece of chicken in their mouth with a devilish smirk on their face. They enjoyed teasing Yuurei, he was easy-going enough to handle it. The chicken was so savory, juicy it fell so easily off the bone. The Prince had to finish chewing before continuing with what they wanted to say. "Yeah. Depending on how things go from here on out I might have to step down as co-" Khalfani couldn't even finish what they were about to say. In the span of about half a second the middle of the hall exploded, causing the entire building to tremble and the plate of food they were holding to fall flat onto the floor beneath them. Immediately screams of shock laced with hints of fear filled the air.

The Dragon Slayer turned quickly to face the source of the boom only to see hooded figures erupt from the ground using metallic retractable wire. The back of their cloaks sported a symbol "????" and the Royal Desiertan immediately knew what it meant. Guards quickly ran gathered Lady Nuru who had been on the opposite side of the room, the rest of the guards immediately ran to aid the other nobles and wealthy folk. Khalfani watched for a moment as the men got in position, aiming their weapons and gauntlets at the nobles. "My...my food..." Khalfani twitched as a couple of guards would approach the trio. One of the guards tried to grab Khal to bring them along. "Your Highness, follow-" Khalfani slapped their hand away. "They dropped.." Suddenly scales began to form all over their body, their eyes slit down the middle and a golden aura began to surround them.

"My Chicken..."

The Prince would raise their hand towards the group, readying an attack. "Your Highness plea-" One of the Knights of Duat shot a lightning bolt at the guards head, sending him through a window. Pieces of the building fell as men and were getting slaughtered left and right, but Khalfani's chicken didn't deserve any of this.

Now all three of the Paradise Dawn members were in a shitty mood. It seemed they shared the same passion about their food. Khalfani themselves were furious though, so much so that they had activated a form they never deemed necessary to use. It was almost second nature and the fact that they had briefly lost that much control over themselves because of their food was quite unusual. Under nearly any circumstance Khalfani had been able to retain their composure...but food? That was a different story. Khal had learned something about themselves today. Do not fuck with their food. It was just as bad if not worse than fucking with their friends and family. Today, the greatest lost would be the masterfully crafted cuisine that the chefs had blessed the party with. The dishes were the only thing that would have made this night bearable. The godsblood was looking forward to chowing down and finding themselves sleeping comfortably in their King-sized bed back at the Villa. Now they couldn't. Of course these fake villains would face their wrath so all would be well in the end.

Lady Nuru luckily escaped quick enough with the rest of the guards although Khalfani hadn't known. In all honesty, in this very moment, they didn't give a shit about Lady Nuru. The food, guys. The food was the only thing that mattered. Yuurei was so furious that he took the initiative to begin the bloody battle. People had been getting tanked left and right but Khal knew that they'd live to see the next day. There was absolutely no way that such swine would take any of them out, including Renji the exceed. Khalfani pointed their finger towards the left side of Yuuri where about fifteen of them would be. They seemed to be looking for someone specific but surprisingly it wasn't Khalfani. It wouldn't make sense because they were standing right there. It could have been a noble as well, but the only person that would matter is Nuru. Nuru was the strongest person at this entire party, even stronger than Yuurei. Despite the fact that she couldn't control her abilities enough to consciously be of use, if Nuru was enraged or in some sort of trance she could potentially wipe out the entire kingdom.

Khalfani shot a single spell towards the area, upon impacting one of the dark knights it exploded, frying all of them on the spot. Rage. The mysterious voice in their head said. Rage, Khalfani. it said again. The Lion ignored it. RAGE! it boomed. And they did just that. Suddenly Khalfani began swinging and pointing, unleashing spell after spell after spell. They were no longer in control, completely blanked out as they fired off towards the center of the building. It didn't matter who was there, they would face Khalfani's wrath one spell after the other. Some of the Knights made it out of the way in time, others did not and would die instantaneously. The Lion clenched their jaws, firing off even as their mana had been being drained by the second. None of it mattered right now because Khalfani was no longer Khalfani. This was a mindless being, an angry god, and everything would feel their wrath. It was then that Nuru found her way back into the building after running from the guards. She slipped behind Khalfani before placing her hands upon their temples.

"Enough." She said, putting him to sleep, ending the senseless onslaught of attacks.

Nuru watched as Yuurei finished off the remainder of the enemies, flawlessly might I had. The Guardian noticed how strong he was. Her face didn't change despite the feeling of relief she felt. If it wasn't for these two then far worse things might have happened. That being said, the room was littered with bodies. The Lady exhaled as Yuurei finally descended, taking her soon to be partner from her lap. She stood up and dusted her dress off nodding at the exceed before nodding at Yuurei who acknowledged her slight display of magic. It was an impressive ability, close to mind control. If her magic wasn't so complex she would be able to do so much more with. Alas, that was as much as she could do without nearly killing herself.

"Thank you. I'm afraid it's all I could do, unlike you. I don't know what any of that was about, but thank you for saving us all M'lord." She pushed her hair behind her air. Yuurei was a bit upset that he didn't get a chance to enjoy that tower of a plate. With a gentle and graceful smile she spoke. "Nonsense. I'll tell you what, let's bring the Prince home to the Villa where they can rest and I'll have them make you a grand meal. Maybe we can become...acquainted in the process." She smirked, subtly batting her eyes. She was hinting at something and whether or not Yuurei understood was on her. Either way, she would begin to lead the way out of the tower before it all fell to pieces and smashed them all to bits. At that point nobody would be eating anything.
