West Fiore had proven to be an uneventful region, filled with boring humans just waiting to be harvested and people experimenting with magic. For weeks Zael had been in the cities of the west waiting for an order or command from Hell, but he hadn't received any word. What was more troublesome though was that he still hadn't heard from his mother. Normally the Nimulli wouldn't have been worried because he was sure the Devils would keep her safe, but quite frankly, he just couldn't shake this worrisome feeling he had. It was the first time he had ever felt worried in his life. Take it from him, it wasn't at all a good feeling. So what else was there to do? With no other option, Zael decided to take matters into his own hands. He knew how demons and devils felt about being summoned, forced to come to a plane by the hands of beings they believed were lesser. Alas, the young teenager didn't care.

Aleel couldn't conjure demons and devils per se, so no matter how hard he tried they'd never be brought over through the sheer use of his mana. However, that didn't mean there wasn't a way to summon them using the raw power of the world. Any normal person would have needed a bunch of items to summon a demon, but all Zael needed was a crossroad and some magical words. He was summoning a low-level messenger demon. Despite the lack of political power they had in the Abyss, much less hell, Messenger demons were known to be able to get information from damn near anyone. One way or another, the fallen Nephilim would find a way to contact someone. He wasn't immediately going to assume that they were ignoring him, but he knew how they could be sometimes. The bottom line was that Z'Aleel needed answers. He simply could not take being out of the loop.

Once he reached the crossroads, he stopped and began drawing a circle in the ground with his feet. People always believed that you needed some specific rune marking to trap a demon, but really all you needed was a circle and some really strong mana. The roads were quiet, far away from the city of Baska literally in the middle of nowhere, it was the perfect place to summon such a being. After the circle was created the boy bit the palm of his hand, drawing blood with his fangs and squeezing his hand at the middle of the circle. When that was done, he stepped back. "Nuncius tenebrarum, nuntius abyssorum, nuncius gehennae, audientiam requiro tecum. In omni virtute tua exi!" The Bellan words slithered out of his mouth like a serpent on a mission to defeat its prey. These were the words of black magic, used by people to summon demons to make deals or obtain information.

The wind picked up and began to blow furiously. The trees swayed back and forth as if they were about to topple over one another, the whooshing noise rang with a melody that could only have come from a creature beyond this realm, yet nothing appeared. Not at first. These were typical signs that one had properly summoned a demon. Other signs included feeling woozy or even the rumbling of the earth. Zael wasn't summoning any of the strongest entities though. The Nimulli cocked his head to the side, waiting for some monstrous creature to suddenly appear. "It didn't work?" Susan's voice rang in his head. The spirit seemed just as confused as Za was. It didn't make any sense. A minute has passed and nothing appeared. Some creature should have spawned in the circle so maybe he did the spell wrong, he thought. "Huh. That's new..." he said aloud. "Maybe try again?" Susan croaked. "Yeah..." he whispered. As he slowly approached the circle he stretched out his arm with a frown. "Maybe there's something wrong in hell."

"Nope, it worked. They just sent me instead."

The silver headed boy turned around quickly, his red eyes staring blankly at the creature before him. "What the hell?" Za closed his eyes for a moment, burying Susan's voice. He never did know where his Legion went when he pushed them out of his head. "And who're you supposed to be?" the boy raised an eyebrow. The creature was jet black as if he was made out of pure energy. Small, and had a strange accent. He also looked like he was over everything already. "I'm Luci, your new parent." In the split moment of silence the wind took the stage, whooshing much like it had done moments before this Luci creature appeared. Zael was no fool, he could tell that Luci was a demon. In fact, he could just smell the Obscura radiating off of him. "Wut?" A new parent? Why the hell would he need a new parent? And why would a demon cat be that person.

"Bwahahahaha!" The Nephilim erupted with laughter. "That's funny. You're funny. Whew! For a second there you really had me. Now why are you actually here? You're not a messenger demon, so why'd they send you of all demons? A cat? Bwahahaha! I don't need a pocket pussy- no offense." he laughed. Luci hopped off of the stone in the ground he was sitting on before folding his arms. He simply just looked at the summoner. "Dear Devil, this is the Nimulli? I'm supposed to turn this little snot-nosed brat into a prestigious killer?" Luci murmured. Zael's smile shortly faded into something resembling shock. In a matter of seconds, just with the silence being as loud as it was, the Nimulli realized that the cat like creature wasn't playing. Luci sighed and snapped his fingers, magically conjuring a flask before taking a sip. Z'Aleel blinked, said nothing and turned away to look at the grass. He pondered, but no amount of thought would help him rationalize what was happening. "They're frustrated, aren't they?"The boy asked. He already knew the answer but... "Mmmhm. The demon smacked his lips.
