It was a new day, a new adventure for Xerxes to embark on. In the short time since he had arrived Orchidia, things had intriguing to say the least. Meeting new people, seeing new sights, all of it was nothing short of spectacular. He almost regretted the fact that within a few months, he would be leaving towards the west to behold the wonders of that area. He planned to cross all over Fiore, both to gain insight on the people and the varying cultures and to also gain a lay of the land he believed he was destined to rule. Deciding that today would be the perfect opportunity to see if he could purchase some new equipment, Xerxes heads out to the Orchidia markets. A few hours later, Xerxes walks down the market streets with a smile plastered on his face. He had just purchased a new helmet and body armor and was eyeing a new weapon to replace his trusty spear. Deciding to replace the spear another time, he happily made his way back to the guild’s headquarters.
“Are you fucking serious?!” he hears a loud voice off into the distance. Off in the distance, Xerxes sees two men arguing in the middle of the street. One of them had his hands up in annoyance while the merchant, though obviously angry, was calmer. Curiously, the merchant was a fellow Desiertian. Given his age, he either arrived in Fiore at an early age or deserted the mercenary life and attempted to start anew here. His morbid curiosity piqued, Xerxes ventures over to investigate. “You really won’t sell it to me?” the clearly annoyed man states in a disbelieving tone. The merchant shakes his head and as the man walks off in irritation. As he walks past, he gives a subtle wave indicating to follow him. Confused, Xerxes looks back as the man once again motions for him to follow. Xerxes complies with his request, interested to see where this would lead.
