The West had been quite an interesting series of events for Jove, culminating in his recent defeat by an unknown mage who had been seemingly hunting for Jove while he rested within the confines of the Eternal Nightmare guildhall. It had taken a while to heal from his wounds, but there seemed to be no mental fatigue from this battle. If anything, he seemed a bit refreshed. It was always nice to have a reminder that good fortunes may waver, and that luck could turn against him at any given moment. In that same vein, it seemed luck could also find him, given the opportunity.

Jove had been woken from his slumber by urgent knocking on the door, and the voice of the inn keeper shouting for his attention. His blanket fell from his exposed chest as he sat up, scars and muscles rippling across his upper body. His eyes held a deep exhaustion, one which no amount of sleep could rectify, but they found themselves trained upon the door. More bangs, shouts, and pleas for Mr. Jove to open up. The knight grabbed hold of his blanket, tossing it to the side and standing at the edge of the bed. Throwing his arms up, allowing for a good stretch to loosen up his back, he finally made his way to the door.

Upon opening, the shrewd inn keep looked like a deer caught in a bright light, unable to move while staring in shock, confusion, and perhaps fear at whatever lay before him. "Hello?" His voice was still groggy, with the sleepiness of the morning making it even deeper than usual. A shaky hand raised in response, a sealed letter with the Kings symbol pressed into the wax. Jove moved in his exhausted fashion, grabbing the letter and offering a smile to the man. "Thanks." With that, as the owner of the establishment tried to stutter something out, the door slammed shut.

Making his way back to the bed, Jove turned the letter over in his hands a few times. He hadn't been active the past few weeks, and he imagined this was some sort of punishment for that lack of activity. Well, not like waiting will change anything. He resolved himself, pulling the letter open and reading its contents. No one watching Jove would be able to gather any sort of hints as to what the letter contained. His eyes simply followed their left to right motion, reading what was contained within the paper, as his face maintained its expressionless norm. By the end of the document, the 9-5 Wizard simply folded the letter and returned it to its container.

While Jove's expression offered no sort of hints as to what was in the letter, his current activity certainly would raise a few questions. He had immediately began packing his bag, seemingly preparing for travel, as he was making sure to leave nothing behind. As he finished packing and exited the room, he flicked a few extra jewel to the owner, who still stared wide eyed at Jove from behind his counter. "Thanks for the delivery. I'll be checking out early, you can keep the deposit." And with that, Jove was off.

A short travel, an eventless trek, and he found himself within Central Fiore.
