A day like any other. A nearly cloudless fay as the hot summer sun pounded down upon Charlotte and Gwen. The snowy gryphon was none too pleased with the heat, finding it a little overbearing as it sweltered in the sunshine thanks to its thick coat of fur and feathers. Taking pity on the poor little creature the blue-haired tamer knelt down to pick it up as they continued to walk through the cobblestone streets towards their destination. Thankfully a relatively easy job had popped up. Simple cupcake deliveries within their new hometown.

The two hadn't quite gotten used to the size of Magnolia City just yet, too used to the tiny village they had come from. This would be an excellent opportunity to not only line their pockets with some jewels but also learn their way around the town. Two birds with one stone. Charlotte glanced down at her beloved companion. It was a good thing it couldn't read her mind else it definitely would have been outraged by that saying for sure.

Soon enough the duo would find themselves at the front of the store, stepping in to find boxes upon boxes of baked goods lining the walls as a flustered server called out and approached them. Assuming they were patrons they bowed in apology as there was no room for them to sit at a table thanks to all the packages piled around. Laughing it off Charlotte explained they were here to help with that little problem. A look of relief flooded the face of the cashier as they quickly moved to show them where they could start.

As Charlotte prepared to deliver the first lot of delicious cakes, she noted Gwendolyn had managed to find the newly emptied chair, choosing to curl up. Despite her best efforts, the gryphon ignored her calls until the young woman sighed and gave up, leaving the creature to rest in the air-conditioned Cafe. Using the map generously provided by the cafe's cashier Charlotte began carefully making the rounds, one house after another before returning back to the store to collect more baked goods.

Each time she returned she attempted to coax Gwen from her perch, only to receive either silence, a small annoyed chitter or an annoyed glance. As if Charlotte was simply ruining this perfectly good nap time. Giving up each time, the young woman continued to deliver the goods on her lonesome. At the very least she got to learn many of the streets and meet many new faces, most of which were friendly enough. All in all a positive experience.

It was nearing sunset by the time she delivered the final package and returned to find an overjoyed cashier. Apparently, it was the first time in a week since they got to get off work on time. They paid Charlotte for her efforts thanking them again and again, never failing to remind her that she was a lifesaver today until she managed to finally leave the store, an unimpressed and glaring gryphon scooped up in her arms. It hadn't appreciated being moved, but it wasn't like it could spend the night in the Cafe. With that, the duo made their way back to the guild hall and their new home.
