It has been a month since Lumikki cleared the rats on the out skirts of Orchidia. Work that she mostly wanted to do for her good friend Carla. Sh owns a restaurant and the rats were disrupting the orders, among other things. The were such an annoying thing to have around but what could one do. At least ridding them always paid her bill of service.

From what she has been hearing in her times visiting the city for questing, was a cluster could be found in the River now. No problem she thought. She would wait until the city would put up an official quest notice before she would take on the task. She wanted to be sure she got paid nicely.

Until then she would come time to time to visit the bars or Carla.

Finally, when she walked down from her board and to her guilds quest board, she smirked. They finally were ready to pay she thought, ripping down the quest slip from the board. She read the details over before slipping it into her Plumage’s void.

Heading out toward the guilds entrance on her way to Orchidia and their infested rivers.

She shifted into a raven herself, as her unkindness would meet her out in the entrance. As of late, many ravens would flock and meet with her. Keeping her company and now with an earring she had found in a pocket of a dress she wore in the Joyan war. She could even understand them now.

Joining just by her side was Trygve, her most loyal and trustworthy raven. He took to flying on her right side as she went out toward Orchidia.

“What is the quest this time?” He would inquire as the others would curiously listen on. ”I gonna get paid ta let ye all eat. There’s a meal of rats in the city we are headed for, and more than enough to go around.I’ll need to have some of ye go to the others and tell them to come too. The more the better.”

The flock of ravens would all croak at once in excitement. Happy with the prospect of eating their fill for the day. Some would break away from the formation of the flight to do as she said, looking out for other ravens to join in the feast. If it was as Lumikki promised, and if bring more ravens weren’t going to hinder their gluttony. The more beaks filled the better.

Lumikki could some of the croaking already in the far distance. All over she could hear a bit of it. She chuckled as she began lowering her flight. She was almost to Orchidia now and it was time to deal with the fun task of hunting for the nest.

Lumikki picked the highest point within the city, perching at the top. Her unkindness would join her. Sitting and chatting, they were still discussing their excitement to eat the rats soon.

The people from below has notice when the flock flew in, their eyes following the birds until the perched. The crowd bewildered and disturbed by their presence as they were not used to his many ravens in one place. Lumikki could even hear them talk amongst themselves. Their worry, panic, and speculation getting the best of them.

She laughed as she waited, Trygve approaching. “Do they entertain you so, miss Lumi?”

“Oh they are! They don’t understand what’s going on and its funny to watch. The keep trading theories on why we are here but none of them even get close. It makes me wonder about the areas I think I know better than I actually do.”

The raven took the time to try and understand the point she made, though it was nothing he’s ever thought before. Ravens don’t usually ponder their limitations, only their options. What reason would one ever need to think about more than the choices for actions before you, though he did understand sitting in confusion as he tried to figure something out for himself. So to that he would nod at her.

Sure enough in a bit more time, more of her ravens would flock to her, Enough to make a black massive cloud move in the sky. Lumikki was never more pleased to see her flock rush to her, the all resided in the areas of Northern Fiore but often like to stay where they home is. Only a few choose to keep with her where ever she met. Yet all the ravens she encounter and all the one nearby would grow to love her. As if she developed some sort of charm to them. Lumikki herself never bothered to question it, excepting it as a natural progression to her power. She never let it get to her head though, as she loved all the birds as dearly as she would kin.

"It is time, let's head over to their nest so ye may feed." She would take off first, and all the rest would follow. Birds in unison as they followed their lead. The flock would ebb and flow as the flew across the air, Lumikki their epicenter for which they modeled their flight path of.

She flew for the rivers and so did they, but the water ways were no small streams. They were stretched and would line most of the city. Things would come up and down the rivers on busy days though this day was a moderate one.

Lumikki would lower her flight to find a place to perch on. "Find the nest..." was all she would say. Her ravens proceeding her to look on for the meal and the goal. Happily and hungrily the flew and sought out their prey. Trygve would decided to perch beside her instead. Eager for the moment to be the only to stay by her side as the other were on their hunt. Tearing their way through all the cracks and cervices for their meal.

"They are quite eager. This is nice. A meal this free is nice from time to time." Lumikki nodded, her eyes couldn't be torn away from the sight of her flock. They were hard at work with their search and so it wouldn't be long now until the found the nest.

Sure enough, a croaking sound could be heard to the far right. All the ravens dove for where it was sounding off. It seems it was time for Lumikki to work as well.

The rats were a free meal yes, but if their nest was easy to raid, the ravens would of never let them go on this long. The rats would build deep and no raven would be a fool to take on a tunnel of rats. So this left them unchecked for as long as it took the city to post the quest, but not it was time for Lumikki to work.

The ravens even with their numbers and tricks can't crack the nest, but Lumikki and her magic easily could. She flew over to the alarm raven, the others break open a path for her as she passed though.

Lumikki shifting mid flight but keeping sets of her wings. The people below marveling at the sight above perplexed but less confused to now see a mage behind the phenomena.

"We found the nest, its over there." One of her ravens told her.

"Over there, over there, over there!" The ravens chanted in their excitement. Lumikki would break into a laugh as she flew heading for where the ravens directed.

When Lumikki made it to the spot, her flock would peel away in hungry anticipation. Giving her space for her magic to act.

Lumikki walked to the nest, all the rats that happened to surface anywhere around the river, had already been picked clean off. Lumikki could still see a few being torn apart from her ravens now.

She walked over to the opening before her, what ever other ones were around, she was sure her ravens already swarmed. Ready for the feast to come. She looked over at them and smiled. Never was this mission so much fun. Only now that she had her flock and she could enjoy granting them a feast did she ever care for this annoying and boring quest. One that usually wasn't well worth her time.

She charged her mana to her hands, condensing it best she could. The air around her was chilling rapidly. She knelt forward and pour her magic into the tunnel. It was simple cold at first, but with her magic will then darkness, she used it to break open the nest.

The tunnels began to crack open as the dark would solidify and push through. The rats under her cold magic would slow tremendously so they couldn't even run away. As soon as they became exposed the ravens would set off and decent for them. Snatching what ever was in sight and flying off to eat their meal. There were still more rats than ravens, so they tried to greedily finish their fill of one only to dine on another soon after.

Lumikki kept trying to trace the tunnels of darkness so that so could crack the entire nest. But the further out her magic had to go, the harder it was to get a sense of the tunnels. She flew off herself to go deeper, hoping to crack and force out what ever is left. Most of her ravens were already feasting in the background and it seemed that most of them have gotten quite fed.

She went to the point that the nest cold lead, but it looked as if maybe the tunnel would continue just under the river. She worked her way freezing the water, the jagged shared she made were pushing out some of the rats who could remain. Their cries had long began to annoy her. Dhe wanted her ravens fed and this over with.

The final flood of rats began to pour out. It was either that or drown. Her ravens still continued to finished them off as they had before. Though it was be coming apparent how full they were becoming. Still the job must be finished.

And there it was, rising with the rest as she thought they would. Rats the size of hounds were squeezing their way through the clasping tunnels. Their screeching was the most annoying to her ears, her trendils snatched them up and broke them so she could be rid of their noises. Tossing them to the floors there after so the ravens could swarm and clean them off.

She made her dark frost dig deeper. Peeling away more earth because she had a hunch something even bigger was below. At least her last experiences were making her believe in that possibility. And sure enough with enough of her digging, the biggest one was exposed. Fight to stay underground, Lumikki forced it out all the same with er dark frost as she had the others before it. Pulling it out for her ravens to finish off and dine.

Lumikki herself went for the throat first so she would not have to hear the beast screech for any longer. She already suffered what she felt was enough of those annoying voices. When all was done and her ravens indeed well feed, may made their ways back to their homes. Sluggish and full they did their best to fly.

She told the ravens that already lived within these parts to keep dining on the mice and keep the numbers low. Her way to provide a solution so that this wouldn't keep happening for so many times or at least not as often.

And with that done she went off to collect her reward.
