Kaito had gained another request that he come and deal with another set of people that were a bit more reclusive and they really didn't like magics and mecha people as they seemed so unnatural and they just wanted to live peacefully and Kaito goes and meets with the client who was more dressed casually but Kaito can tell them are some kind of researcher so Kaito hoped that he was not going to have to fight some giant monster again and then end up dying or worse have to watch innocent people be killed by it before he can get to them and save them but Kaito needed to make sure that they would not have to suffer this fate but Kaito was not even sure if this quest was as it appeared and that was the hardest part of this as there was many things that need to be done.

Kaito accepted the quest and he takes Revy and walks away with her toward where these people are to be hiding out. Kaito doesn't see them and he wonders where they must be as there must be some trace around here somewhere and he follows what he can see and smell and he finds where they were and they had build themselves an alarm system in case someone gets close so they can be warned and that had hidden it well but Kaito saw through it with tracking skills and he gets around the alarms and he wonders what other kinds of traps were set and Kaito didn't have to wait long to find out as he sees there are pit traps decently hidden but were still easier to tell were their unlike the alarm system but that was probably because they figured the alarm system would alert them to the intruders and scare the intruders who would then hurry toward them.

Kaito figured the intruders would just just fall into the pit in their rush to get to the village that was ahead of it and end up getting themselves killed and then the weak would flee away from them while the stronger ones that hadn't died would keep pushing forward and he looks at the people as they stare at him who just walked on in like it was nothing and they were scared of him and went for an alarm bell and Kaito warped the bell away so they alarm couldn't be raised and they froze in place as they knew this was their death and that they couldn't do anything about it and a few very beaten up looking and tired people dropped to their knees and begged not to be killed. Kaito tilted his head to the side and asked them why they thought he was looking to kill them.

They explained that a few days before hand they had been raided and attacked by a different group and were left for dead but the attackers moved on and they left the area that is when what was left of them packed up and fled to this place for safety and now they think he was here to end their lives and the exceed comes around his shoulder explains that no they were here to help them and treat their wounded as there was someone out there working against the system that wants to kill them and that they had been chosen to come and help them. They look at the exceed strangely as why would someone want to help them but they guessed that they couldn't look the gift horse in the mouth and they lead them to a big tent in the middle where the wounded were staying.

When Kaito walked in he could smell the infections some of them had and the rot of the ones that were starting to die and he puts Revy down who transforms into her human form and she helps Kaito get them organized and they started working on the ones that were starting to die them looking at the masked and cloaked Kaito as death coming for their souls but were too weak to fight back against him so they let themselves relax and embrace it as death took them but Kaito pulled them back from the void keeping them firmly in the living world saving their life with the medicines he had and the tools he was carrying as they slept through it and Kaito knew this was going to be a long day and Kaito gets some help to help Revy and himself from his team in his dimension.

They don't mind to help Kaito as they owe their lives to him and he was glad that he had come across them all those years ago and he looked at the patient that he was working on and it was a scared child that wished to see his face and he showed his face to them and they smiles as he wasn't as scary under the mask as his mask made him seem and he knew that he needed to still be careful as they were young and he made sure that the kid knew that he was going to have to take it easy and not play too rough as he needed to heal first and not allow the wound to break back open as it could lead to a worse outcome and that he was to make sure that the wound remained clean and healed right up.

Kaito and Revy work tirelessly working from the more hurt to the less hurt along with the medicines and other things they were handing out and helping with and they do their best to keep up with Revy and Kaito even if they are not fully taught in the ways of healing they were doing some of the lighter work that they could do like checking the lesser hurt villagers and then reporting it so that Kaito didn't over look anything and they had them tended to correctly and safely. Kaito and Revy finish off the last of the villagers and lets them rest as they are still a bit scared of him even if he had just helped them he was still a stranger that had gotten in here like it was nothing but a simple walk in the forest and that was strange to them to say the least. Kaito returned the alarm bell to where it belonged and they left and Kaito collected the payment for the request.
