A dimly lit room, only illuminated by a flickering candle, set the eerie stage for Hakai as he stared down at the parchment laid out on a wooden table. The paper bore the scars of deep red ink, resembling blood stains. The message was concise but sent shivers down his spine: "Meet me in the Forsaken Cemetery." Despite his disdain for Dahlia's sinister atmosphere, Hakai found himself back in the accursed town. Another enigmatic request from a mysterious client had drawn him here, and he couldn't help but wonder if he was becoming too accustomed to mingling with the lurking terrors of this haunted place. As he contemplated the message, he shook his head to clear the doubts and fears. Why, of all places, would they choose to meet in the forsaken cemetery? The name alone could send chills down the bravest of spines. Hakai understood the need to prepare for this task, considering taking holy books, silver talismans, and vials of holy water to ward off malevolent spirits. However, he knew that, in the end, his unwavering resolve would be the true weapon that would guide him through this terrifying night in Dahlia. He let out a long sigh as he dragged himself out of the comfort of his inn and into the deep dark night. "Here we go again" |

The moon hung high in the dark sky, casting an eerie glow upon the desolate world Hakai had stepped into. It felt as though he had entered the realm of a horror folklore, with himself as the unsuspecting protagonist. The streets were eerily quiet, deserted by anyone with a modicum of sense who had chosen to lock themselves inside, hiding from the malevolent forces that roamed the darkness. As he made his way toward the entrance of the Forsaken Cemetery, the only sounds were the echoing footsteps of his approach and the rhythmic beating of his heart. When Hakai finally reached the cemetery's entrance, he was met by a bald, frail-looking man named Adarian. His initial feeling of pity quickly dissipated as soon as Adarian began to speak. "Name's Adarian. I'm the one who request you." The man's voice held a strange authority, capable of commanding the attention of all who heard it. It was then that Hakai realized the rumors were true – this man was the leader of the cult known as the Red Hades, practitioners of dark arts and necromancy. The final piece of the puzzle slid into place, and Hakai understood that the cemetery was to be their unholy playground. Adarian wasted no time in revealing his sinister plan, instructing Hakai to infiltrate the cemetery and unearth three unburied caskets. "There's 3 caskets yet to be buried. Find it and break it so it's opened. Simple right?" The Heretic's request was simple but filled with foreboding implications. With a determined nod, Hakai accepted the task and ventured deeper into the heart of darkness. |

Hakai vaulted over the cemetery's surrounding fence, which acted as a protective perimeter. His landing prompted an involuntary exclamation, "Shit," as he he noticed several people visiting the cemetery late at night – a rather unconventional occurrence. The timing wasn't favorable for his purposes. Thinking swiftly, Hakai decided he needed a cover, so he selected a few flowers, as if he were genuinely paying a visit to a grave. Nearby, he spotted several flowers that someone had placed on a tombstone. He took them, though it amounted to theft. Under his breath, he murmured, "I'm sorry. May karma understand." With the flowers in hand, he proceeded to walk around the cemetery, blending in with the other visitors and maintaining a facade of genuineness. Navigating the cemetery, he eventually reached the northern section, where he discovered three tightly sealed caskets, ready for burial. Hakai remembered the Heretic's specific instructions: "Do not use magic and do not defile the corpses." This posed a challenge, as Hakai possessed magical abilities, and his initial inclination was to employ wind magic. However, using overt magic would surely attract unwanted attention. Faced with a dilemma, Hakai resorted to his inner strength. He forcefully broke the caskets' lids along their edges, ensuring they didn't harm the corpses within. This method succeeded in revealing the deceased – a young female, an older female, and a male, an entire family. Aware that the sounds he generated might alert nearby visitors, Hakai wasted no time. With a subtle application of his wind magic, he moved like a feather, swiftly clearing the fence and escaping discreetly from the cemetery. Once safely outside, he circled the cemetery and encountered Adarian once again at the entrance. "The stage is yours. Do as you please," Hakai informed the Heretic, who responded with an enigmatic chuckle, appearing satisfied. The Heretic placed the rewards on Hakai's hand. "I will call upon you again in the near future," Adarian declared. Hakai couldn't shake the feeling that things were about to take a turn for the worse. 827/500 Words |
