She almost was there more as a moral support than anything else. With the conflict beginning to wane a bit, the concerns over the defensive front were lessening. Battles were less frequent and when they happened the losses were less significant. It was exactly what the people wanted and for Astrid, it gave her reason to think that the strategy that she felt would work best was already showing to have some level of success. It would take time. Significantly more time. But with how quickly the war had shifted from being a very balanced conflict that either side would have been able to secure power with at any given point, it was becoming more and more that the Loyalists were able to further hold their defensive fronts. The conflict was in their favor, the war inevitably going to end at some point soon. She hoped that that would be the case, but knowing what she knew of Fiore, she feared that desperation would end up causing the conflict to last even longer.
That fear was enough for her to remain engaged, not just being there to give the people fighting some imaginary lustful fantasy to pursue. She had to see that the people did not slack, something that was certainly at risk with the progress that was being made. People getting complacent, getting lazy even, but she would hope that that would not occur while she was there. If the conflict were to go in their favor, then that would be fine. Let the situation get away from them. At that point the damage was already done and in her fictitious war she would have already won. In time that would be the case, and she was seeing the fruits of their labor already coming forth. All that remained was for her to further help, whether on the defensive front, from her more aggressive approach, however it may have been or whatever it may had to be to secure the victory.
