Overall: Charles has the appearance of a regular-looking man with a slender physique, fair skin, and above average in terms of height. Thin and slightly messy black hair that covers his forehead. He usually carries himself with a calm and monotonous expression that denotes little to no interest in most things. Often considered a handsome or decently-looking individual as looks go by, but nothing flashy.

His usual attire consists of a black button-up shirt with long sleeves, black pants, and a dark belt. A white coat usually accompanies this as a personal request of his own with pockets on its side where he usually puts his hands.

Personality

Personality: Charles generally comes off as a calm individual with a relaxed and lazy disposition. Mostly focuses on the things, people, or subjects that pique his interest, rarely interacting with anyone, unless he has to do, a particular interest or someone he has known for a good while. Most social interactions will be seen as unnecessary and trivial, actively avoiding them as much as possible, unless he has to gain out of it. He appears as an inoffensive person who would rather avoid a fight if possible and do his own thing. As long as such conflict/action doesn't affect him directly or indirectly, he wouldn't engage in it, even if it comes at the expense of others.

This lazy and relaxed disposition is a front to mask a part of himself. Behind it lies an incredibly intelligent and cunning person, interested in his own goals and motivations in an attempt to further his understanding of everything that surrounds him. Sometimes it might even be for the good of the many, he will do it. He's not an evil individual, but it's hard to call him a good person either even if he's willing to help. At the end of the day, he's willing to do many things to reach his goals, for him the ends justify the means.

Likes:

Research: As childish as it may sound from a young age Charles had always been interested in research. From magic to general science, the complex intricacies of the world he lives in is something he finds particularly fascinating and ever brought up he might end up talking a lot more than usual.

Dislikes:

Demons: As a hunter, particularly a Demon Slayer it is only expected for him to have a degree of dislike towards Demons. While this does not translate to raw hate, it is merely a dislike towards them due to their senseless, evil nature that he considers to be foolish. This often results in complete indifference and mocking when it comes to them. Viewing them as creatures of only evil that aren't capable of proper thought. To the point that sometimes may see them as inferior beings in his own twisted mind.
Apparent Perfection: As a self-proclaimed scientist/scholar, Charles has a dislike for anyone or anything that considers itself to be perfect. As in his eyes nothing is perfect, no matter how good it may seem, it has a flaw or a weakness somewhere. Perfection means to him there's nothing to improve on, and not many can be learned. The mere concept of perfection towards something is perhaps something he dislikes.

Motivations:

Knowledge Acquisition: Charles aims to further his knowledge through research and experimentation in order to learn about the world around him. His thirst for knowledge is one of his main life motivations, not knowing about everything ever, but rather improving his knowledge and abilities day by day. It will always be his main way to amuse himself and without knowledge to be learned, then why live?
Convenience: Anything that will improve his circumstances or provide additional commodity. He strives to make things as easy as possible, without any hassles included. Something that will improve his life or circumstances is likely something he'll be inclined to do after measuring the pros and cons. So as long as he has something to get out of it.

Fears:

Lack of Purpose: His greatest fear is to find himself at one point without purpose. Without knowing what to do, without a problem to solve, or inability to think. He fears what he might do if he ever feels he lacks purpose and may spiral into deep depression based on that alone. Charles wants to continue having a purpose or an objective, even if its sometimes a mundane thing.
Losing Himself: Even if it may not be apparent, one of his fears is to one day lose himself. Lose individuality, his natural curiosity, and what makes him a person. Whether it is to eventually lose any sort of emotions or empathy he may have. As that is the moment he would believe he will truly die. On the outside, it may not be as evident as this is a fear he is not consciously aware of yet.

History

History: Born as a single child to a noble family of hunters, he was born into a fair amount of wealth. He had everything at his disposal and never lacked anything, but unlike many people of nobility, he wasn't quite sheltered. Being born to a family of hunters that specialized in hunting down vampires and daemons it was imperative for him to undergo the same training as his predecessors. His preparation to become a hunter began from the age of seven years old. Tests that brought his mental and physical skills to their limit, tracking, hand-to-hand combat, and the ability to discern a person's true motivations.

This continued over the course of several years, occasionally accompanying his family on trips around the world as they lent their services to other countries to hunt down vampires and daemons for a fair price. Allowing him to meet other people older or around his age, and establish relationships with them for the future. This made it possible for him to become familiar with a few countries, if only briefly. He was provided with opportunities not many had, but it was far from the easy life he would expect.

Over the years, Charles will find himself worthy to become the next head of his family. Allowing him to obtain the powers of a Demon Slayer, he had become by official terms a hunter by his family. As such he decided his next path in his life and joined the Collective Mind in order to satisfy his inner desire for knowledge and research. This went on for the following years until he left the organization and went on his own path. Desiring to perform his own personal research at his own pace. Unsure what path lies ahead, he will find something that amuses him in due time.
