Back in his hometown Chris was confident in his ability to get from one place to another. In his youth he could jump fences, duck in alleys, and even walk in the woods without getting lost. But once he got out of what he found familiar all bets were off. My mom would give me an earful if she heard about this. Still he had managed to make it to the guild without getting killed along the way. He counted that as a win.
Standing before the doors leading in, Chris began to feel a little nervous. He had heard the stories about various guilds, and some of the jobs they do to make money. It sounded like dangerous work. But still he liked to help people, and he can use magic. Seemed like a good choice at the time. Taking a deep breath to steady his nerves he reached out and pushed open the door to enter his new life.
