HomeQuest: The Philosophy of Obscuration  Summary: Perhaps the most secluded College in Amaforth Academy, the College of Obscuration makes its home in the vast, twisting woodlands of the island, a place where Rangers, Hunters and Beastmasters feel it home. It teaches mages to stay out of sight through long ranged combat and various stealth magics, with a mixed population of mages and non mages. It's said that only when one can hunt and erase their presence from the instincs of the forest denizens can they graduate from this college. Congratulations for finding the college hidden in the woodlands, this already speaks highly of your budding potential and the promise to come. Of coursed, this was only the first challenge, and you will find that there are still many more for you to defuse and overcome. But, we all have to start somewhere and we’re glad you decided to make your roots here. Onto the next obstacles in your journey… Welcome to the jungles: The woodlands make a great foundation, providing an environment that can be both harsh but plentiful in opportunities and lessons. However, we can’t assume every battle you’ll face could be reduced to a conflict in the woods. As such, we encourage you to learn every environment and setting out there. After the necessary planing conducted with your instructors, we can whisk you away to secluded places around the world to see how you would fair for a set amount of designated time. We can get you there, we can even bring you back—but the condition in which you return will solely depend on you. Of course, we can also do test runs on campus before we tackle the more exciting locations. Hidden in plain view: As one could assume of most predators, they hide their presence until the last moment. Much like you will observe in your developing career. You are forgiven to believe this is a simple taste, but there are many challenges to be had in performing this task. As you will soon find and learn to inquiry—could you completely mask your presence? We first want to encourage you to practice this exercise with another, eventually working your way up unto a point where you can request a teacher or professor as a partner. See how often you and quickly you can melt into your environment. And perhaps one day, challenge the more shrewd of beasts. Your fellow beast: Maybe you don’t work alone, and you don’t plan to either. Instead, you function as a unit with a team and desire to remain as such. Teamwork admittedly has the potential to make great strides that solo work may not gain you, and is seen as an equally valid approach. Of course with high gain comes high risk, and so when minding all previous mentioned activities, you will have to navigate them all with your party in mind.
