Kon

Kon, a wreck of a person woke up as usual sweating through his clothing and rushing towards the closest bathroom throwing the door open and proceeded to vomit into the nearby sink. His health had worsened despite what the doctors had claimed only a few days ago, but he knew through the worse of times was when people best shone and that he would be required to work despite his medical condition. Fortunately remembering from the other day that there was a Lieutenant of the Magic Council whom needed assistance he decided to go to him to see what he could and would do to help. Stripping off his sweat soaked clothing he threw himself into the shower and allowed the hot water to cleanse his body after a solid thirty minutes or so he left the warm embrace and put on the standard rune knight outfit to represent his faction and so he wouldn’t have to wear his dirty clothing. He would have to remember to wash them leaving it as an afterthought when he got back.

For now though he would make his way to the lieutenant who was apparently stationed on the outside borders of Era, in fact he had to walk as far as the gates to finally met with him. The man himself seemed unimpressed by the appearance of Kon as his reputation seemed to have spread in a quick time around Era town particularly within the Magic Council. Ignoring the prejudgement from his superior he took the report of the man and waited until it was night as he was required to perform his objective at night.

Eventually the sky grew dark and lights around the town were lit, Kon with his still splinted up arm began his task by entering into the woods and search for the zombies mentioned in the reports. He was heavily reliant on the use of his staff and would be relying just has heavily on his companion and his new rat assuming he could summon it in the event that he was attacked, however it was unlikely he would be at least for today.

After looking for hours now, Kon’s patience grew thin with him starting to suspect the reports to be false, of course though he didn’t want to make himself look like a fool by giving up so easily so he continued looking. Eventually he made his way to a clearing that seemed to led into a cavern it was guarded by two figures which from a single sniffed revealed were rotting corpses realizing that he had found what he had been looking for he continued to make his way towards the cave hiding from plain sight.

As a user of the dark arts in necromancy, Kon was able to swiftly cast a spell to void the one holding the souls of the figures in their bodies causing them to collapse and turn to dust, with the guards out of the way Kon was able to make his way into the cave eventually coming across a series of red robed cultists who were walking together towards a statue of sorts. It seemed to remind him of a picture that he sneaked a peak at in his father’s room in one of his books. The statue itself hummed and glow as the cultists began to circle around it dozens of corpses that were piled around the statue perhaps in the dozens, knowing that his single rat, blitzle and his crippled body wouldn’t be able to take on the countless horde he decided to document as much as he dared.

From time to time he feared the worst where a cultist or undead would turn their attention into his general direction. Not wanting to continue on with the risky job and having gathered as much information without engaging the wrongdoers he backed out of the caves and reestablished the spell to have the guards return to their original but awful state though without having them recognise they were there.

In a hurry trying to avoid any potential traps that were close to the cave that he might have missed he made his way back to the lieutenant in charge of the operation, after slowing down to the point where he realised it was now morning and that he had been out all night, he looked at Marwin who had appeared worried though tried to hide his emotions underneath a veil of rage shouting at Kon for his late return, though it appeared he was satisfied with his return.

Gates now opening for the day, he entered the town proper and spoke to his superior face to face and told him the rough truth of the reports being valid correct. With a sigh the man sat down as Kon continued to reveal the details of how it was happening and how the cultists were using some sort of statue that had been moved there to either use directly or just amplify their abilities, he also commented on how he got into the cave itself though with more vague description refraining from informing him of his necromancy abilities as he would be made suspect number one afterwards.

Having to think over what Kon had said to him the Lieutenant gave him his reward before dismissing him and telling him that his reputation that had been spread around was far from what he had seen today and he would fight to help him restore his image within the Magic Council, thanking him for the sincere gesture that he gave Kon nodded and left the man before a headache started to overcome his thoughts even overpowering the pain that was still radiating from his arm. His headache stemmed from a strong bout of hungry having not eaten in the last couple of days. As a result he made his way albeit it with pain to a local bakery where he sat down to order a large assortment of baked goods along with some strong coffee and a chocolate milkshake to quickly recover his spent energy.
