"Let's not dawdle around here. I only have a few minutes before my next patient. I will show you what it is that I need you to clean," she spoke fairly fast, but Houren knew that this was because she needed to get things done as soon as possible. At that moment, the Fairy Tail mage though to himself that it would be nice if he could have an actual conversation with the lady, to be with her in a setting that did not require either of them to be rushed, and from what he could see with his eyes, stressed. Her movements were quick as she, still holding his hand, led him over to a sink area at the corner of the hut that was full of dirty potion pots and behind in the resting area, a dirty healing pond that needed to be scrubbed clean with manly hands. Fortunately, Houren was on hand and he did not need a further explanation; just by looking at the items presented in front of him, he knew what his job was. It was self explanatory, in other words, and he made that known to Kaita who seemed happy enough with that and went back to her work, leaving Houren to clean.
It wasn't like he was a stranger to tedious jobs like these, and in his opinion, the hardest part was actually starting. People tended to get intimidated by the sheer volume of stuff that they needed to clean that they didn't start, but Houren knew that if you did things, even if very slowly, it would all eventually add up. He took a random potion pot and began to scrub it clean, taking note that he was actually doing a good job as the scrub he had been using had went from yellow to almost black. Fortunately, the healing hut seemed to have an abundance of scrubs and he had been told in no uncertain terms by Kaita that, if needed, he was permitted to use up every single one. With that in mind, Houren was quite liberal when it came to cleaning, making sure that each potion pot was absolutely spotless before setting it down into the ''already cleaned'' pile. Cleaning up all the pots there took quite a bit of time, but he was done eventually and in record time too, although he didn't have a watch to time it. After that, he went to all the flower pots and began to drain all any stagnant water that might have been present, since you know, the last thing the healing hut wanted was mosquitoes infesting the place. It was a matter of personal health as well, since this was supposed to be a place of healing.
Houren was somewhat ashamed of what he did next, having to trouble one of the healers to direct him to a storage hut next door where they kept all the equipment, including the broom that he needed to scrub the healing pond clean. He thanked the healer for his time, and allowed the girl to get back to her work before darting out of the hut and going to the one next door. It was in a fairly good condition and everything seemed to be organized so he made a mental note to himself not to mess anything up. Grabbing a broom, and a scrub, Houren rushed back into the first hut where the healers were still hard at work and went to the back where the pond was located. It had been drained of all water, and impurities like scum had begun to develop on the surface. He entered the pond that lacked water and poured some cleaner on it, before scrumming with the broom, using all his strength to make sure that he got all the dirt out. Although he didn't generally partake of this sort of healing, he had dipped in a healing pond once, and it was an absolute pleasure, proof that this method worked. However, there was a secret to this sort of thing too, it was that healing ponds cleansed the mind as well as the body, and as such, it was absolutely essential that it was incredibly clean. A bather who can see the impurities through the water's surface could not possibly benefit mentally from having been in the pond. And, after a few hours of work, Houren was finally done, having achieved a standard of cleanliness that he was actually satisfied with.
There wasn't much for him to do next, so he simply double checked his work. Not that it was necessary, he was confident that he had cleaned everything sufficiently the first time around, and as such, found himself looking at the treatments being performed, and by the time Kaita came to thank him and pay him, it went without saying that he felt just slightly smarter than before.
