Kenny and Alyssa had finished their first mission together earlier in the day, and to say they did well would be an understatement. They made a great team, and Alyssa believed they both realized it. They had decided to go back to the pub to celebrate their first successful mission. They had left Arcane back at the hotel again, as they were aware of what happened last time they ended up heading to the pub together.

Alyssa had dressed nearly the same as always, a classy black dress that she matched with black heels. This time as they entered the pub, Alyssa chose a spot for them at the opposite corner of the room near a dart board and the bar. She had hoped that she would be able to beat Kenny in a game of darts this time since they were not trying to drink each other under the table at the moment. Taking her own seat, she looked to Kenny.

"Would you do the honor of getting us a bottle this time, handsome?" She asked with a pleasant smile.

Kenny’s back ached, his head hurt and he could have sworn a loose nail had stabbed him in the toe while they were doing the mission, yet, even with so much pain came great comfort. Comfort in the fact that Kenny had made the right choice in his partner though the woman felt more like his other half. Yes, it was only after one mission and a chance meeting but it felt nice to get a job done and be able to celebrate together. The liquor would taste all the sweeter with the extra jewels lining their pockets.

Alyssa dressed classy, Kenny… Well he dressed comfortably or as comfortable as he could. Honestly he was considering finding a someone who could sell him some better clothes. She was always gussied up and looked like fine wine, while Kenny did his best to dress up as well, but his lack of sophisticated clothing led him to an unworn black suit supplied to him by a vendor ages ago . If she was going to be well dressed as was he, even though he hated putting on anything that wasn’t loose or form fitting. Alyssa had picked the spot and sat down near the dart board.

She asked him to get the liquor he smiled and nodded, “Of Course beautiful, and trust me I know just what to get.” he turned tail and headed for the bar to make a special order. On the way Kenny would tug on the collar of his suit, he hated these things. They choked, itched, and were a nuisance to wear, but he wanted to look nice for her after all she practically carried him through their last mission.

Kenny stepped up to the bar and knocked once, “Bartender, lemme get two bottles of tequila your best and your strongest.” the bartender nodded, accepted Kenny’s jewels and went to get the order. Whilst he waited Kenny leaned against the bar, his eyes traced the counter and his fingers walked to a nearby unsupervised shot glass. He took the shot and sat it back down. As he waited. The bartender would soon return and placed two bottles on the counter, Mr. Omega examined the bottles. One was darker, the other was amber in color. “Hmm now which one is the strongest… Eh, I’ll just take the dark one.” he shrugged and returned to the table.

“Here you go, your favorite and don’t worry I got us both a bottle.” he wiggled his in the air and popped the top of his and set hers on the table, “To a job well done and to the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met.” he held up the bottle and began downing the near black alcohol. it was stronger than he thought, and burned like hell, just how he liked it.

Alyssa knew he was going to get tequila. She just knew it. Preparing herself for the burn of the strong drink, she took her first shot and smiled. "I could say you are the most handsome I've ever met, but that would not ever cover the basis of it. Simply calling you handsome would be an insult." She said. Her eyes wandered over the dart board and a smirk graced her lips. "I bet I can beat you in a game." She stood and held her hand out to the man.

Kenny would eventually turn his bottle down when she complimented him, a goofy grin was on his face as he rubbed the back of his neck, “Psssh, c-c’mon I’m not that handsome.” he set his bottle down, “Besides, I’m the one who always struggles to find words to justify just how beautiful you are. I know one thing, I’d do anything for you because you mean so much to me.” he followed her gaze to the dartboard and smirked, “Are we going to put a little wager on this game?”

He took her hand and picked his bottle back up, “Maybe not the last one we had, but I’m sure we can think of something that won’t end with me with another set of scratch marks on me… Well everywhere.”

Alyssa chuckled and kissed the man's shoulder through his suit. "Poor baby, did the scratch marks hurt that much?" She joked. "Too bad, I enjoy leaving them on you. Besides, it just means you are doing something right." Walking over to the dart board, she grabbed the darts. "What type of wager were you thinking this time?" The man was in a suit, she knew it would be sort of a handicap for him when it came to darts as he did not have as much free movement as she herself did. She took another shot before looking back at the man, waiting for his answer.

What would it be this time… Most of the things he wanted to have her do were more simple than anything, dressing up like a maid being one of them… heh. Nah, Kenny had other plans, “Well how about this, loser buys the rest of the drinks for the night?” he said picking up a handful of darts, “Better than my original plan of ‘if I win you have to date me.’’ don’t you think?” Kenny groaned at how inflexible he was in this damned suit, it was choking him he was already uncomfortable… The shoes were tight. “What do you think?”

Alyssa chuckled as a blush coated her cheeks. He was very forward about what he wanted out of life, and she liked it. "Alright, loser buys the rest of the drinks." She handed him a set of darts. "As for your other idea...well, if you ever want that, you better think of a classier way to ask a lady then by a bet." She aimed her first dart and threw it, landing it dead center of the board before chuckling. "Because it would be a shame for you to bet that and then not win." She said. Her next dart veered to the left a bit but still met it's target of the spot right beside the first. Her last in the series landed a spot to the right. It was less points in the end, but she was still doing well to have been drinking already.

His little quip about dating seemed to earn a blush, very nice to know. Maybe one day he could ask her, but for now he had a dart game to win. “Ah, yes, darts.” he took the projectiles gratefully and watched her go on. “I’ll think of a way to ask you to be mine one of these days.” he watched he throw yet another dart, she was doing well, though Kenny had only played this game once, oddly enough in this same pub. “It would be a shame, but then i’d have to keep bringing you here every day and make the same bet until I won.” he watched her last dart land and now it was his turn… He placed his bottle down and stood where she did, this was going to be easy, right?

The first dart left his hand, it actually hit the board at the far right end. He threw another it flew too far to the right and bounced off of the wall and hit ground. The suit was making it hard for him to do much of anything, but he cocked back the last and in a desperate heave tossed it at the board. It sailed in the air, and with a stroke of bad luck hit his first knocking it off of the board, all three missed. Kenny’s jaw hung open as he looked at his grounded darts, “W-wha just happened?”

Alyssa could not help but laugh. "You...you didn't score any points." Her laughs filled nearly the entire room. She poured him and herself a shot and handed his to him. "Here, seems like you need this after that." She took her shot and sat looked over the man, who seemed to still be a bit surprised that he had not scored a single point. "You know, you have not told me much about yourself. These are what these outings are supposed to be for right? To get to know my partner. So talk." She urged, eyes filled with curiosity about the man.

She laughed, and boy did she laugh. It was a charming laugh, it was music to his ears and the shock melted into a smile as he watched her boast her victory over him. It seemed he had won after all, not the game, but he got to see her smile and that was more than enough of a win for him. Still, he was the loser and would pay for their drinks as he should have. He sat in front of her and took the shot. Get to know him? Well she was the first to ask him that, but it did make sense. Where was the fun in just doing jobs and being flirty when you know nothing about the other person?

Kenny crossed his arms and nodded, “Well partner I’m from a mining town not north of Fiore, couldn’t do much there so when I was old enough to leave I did. Traveled for a while on my own, ended up mugged by some bandits, but I got the last laugh and stole their ride. Next thing I know my horse kills over and my cart is stuck in Oak, the first time I’ve been here. Now I’ve been wandering the countryside ever since.”

His arms uncrossed and he sighed, “Since then I’ve gotten into some weird situations, got lost and found myself. Oh crap, sorry I’m rambling. Short version, I like long walks in the forest, drinking my butt off, and working. Oh and I met this beautiful young woman, maybe you know her? White hair and divine red eyes. But anyway, I am talking a lot aren’t I? Tell me about you, I do need to know my partner’s backstory.”

Could Alyssa tell him about herself or would he just run away like the rest. Deciding she was going to have to tell him at some point, she sighed. "I left my parents when I was young and found Arcane. We have been traveling together ever since. When I was little I was diagnosed with multiple personality disorder, which is why sometimes you see me change. My split usually only wants to kill people when it takes over...but since I've met you, it's been a lot better. It doesn't bother me as much..plus it likes you." She shrugged. "I like drinking too. And money. Not much more to really know about me."

Kenny listened attentively giving her is undivided attention. She spoke about herself, but her words about her “split” made him furrow his brows. “Multiple personalities?” he repeated as if he had just heard the term for the first time. He seemed shocked, but for an entirely different reason than she may think. “Two personalities?” Kenny sighed, “You do know what this means don’t you?” he looked up at her with a grave expression on his face.

“I’ve met two amazing women in one gorgeous body, I think i’m the luckiest man in the world.” he chuckled, “And I think there’s more to you, to the both of you or I wouldn’t be so enchanted by you if that were true. Anything you wanna do with the rest of our night?”

Alyssa shrugged her shoulders and finished her drink. "How about I show you one of my favorite places?" She asked. She allowed him to pay before leading him out of the pub and down the dark streets of Oak. She made her way into the woods, looking back to make sure Kenny was following her. After about five minutes of walking into the woods, she stopped at a small lake that turned into a stream a bit down. It was always peaceful there, especially at night. It was quiet and the moon was shining brightly on the lake. Alyssa mostly brought him there because of the fact that it was one of her favorite places. It was private and kinda romantic as well. She wanted to share the place with her partner.

And out they go, he followed her to a more secluded area in the woods a little off from the rest of the town. It seemed like a nice spot to relax, though on the way he had managed to shed a layer of his suit now only wearing a collared shirt and the slacks. He placed his hands in his pockets and followed on. Seemed they were alone out here, there was no noise but the chirps of crickets and the ripples of water at the lakefront under their feet. Hm, so this was one of her favorite places? It was peaceful, kind of pretty. “Pretty place,” he complimented their surroundings and sat in front of the lake, arms resting on bent knees as he looked out at the moonlight reflecting on the lake, “Do you usually come out here when you’re in Oak?”

Alyssa shrugged. She had not been to Oak in a long time. "Yeah, I come here every time I come to Oak.  Arcane led me here first, actually.  I love it here.  Never brought anyone here before though.  It's kinda nice having someone to share it with."  She sat near the edge of the water on a rock and threw a couple stones into the lake, making the water ripple.  "There's no one else I would have rather brought here, actually.  I never thought I'd find someone to want to share this spot with.  Usually people piss me off too much."  She chuckled.

“Then what I’m about to ask may piss you off, and I’m sorry if it does. I also understand if you want to end our partnership because of it.” he stood up and sighed, now was as good a time as any to ask her, to see how she felt. There was no use in beating around the bush, the night was perfect and there was privacy to ask things of these varying natures. Kenny walked towards her and placed his hands on her shoulders, “I know this is sudden, but I need to know. Alyssa, am I being a little pushy on you? I know you said your split likes me, but how do you feel?”

He let her go, “Second, all of this flirting, and kissing, and even the banging. Are we partners or… Are we leaning towards something else? Don’t get me wrong, I love it all. But what’ll happen if one of us ends up feeling more? What if I were to say right now that split or no split, I’ve fallen head over heels for you, both of you, llike we were in some sort of book?” Ugh, he wa being so cheesy, maybe he could say he was joking? Best he waited for her answers.

“All in all, I just need to know because we are early in this partnership, and I don’t want either of us getting hurt and splitting up if one finds someone else.”

Alyssa stayed quiet for a moment listening to the man speak. Taking a moment to collect her thoughts, she swallowed the lump in her throat, and she answered. "I've never really been good at talking about feelings, but I can tell you now my split isn't the only part of me that likes you. You are a wonderful man and I enjoy every moment with you. If it happens that you find someone else, I'll understand. But me, I'm sticking right here by your side until you decide you don't want me here anymore." That was as straight an answer as she could give him. Did she like him? Yes. Did she want more? Yes. Would she be disappointed if he found someone else? A big yes.

Kenny breathed a sigh of relief, he sucked at these sorts of conversations. Feelings were always his weak suit and he didn’t want to come off as some sort of needy little boy, but he had legitimate curiosity in what it was they were or what they could be. He wouldn’t trade this woman for any other partner in the world and her words were soothed his curiosity. “Well trust me, there is no one else partner. You’re the only person I need by my side.” her answer was straight and the awkward air that he imagined would spring didn’t come up at all. She was being honest and he respected that the most, though if he was to be truthful he would be torn apart at the sight of seeing her on the arm of another, but she was a beautiful young woman so for him to get in her way would be a high crime, he wanted her happy, but he was uncertain if he could be the one to keep her happy. Hm, now it was time for yet another question, “But now there’s only one thing left to say, how about that date? Maybe we can hold off on playing darts though.” he chuckled.

"If you really wanna take me on a date, you can. Then you can decide if you really mean what you say." She said with a chuckle. She got up and walked over to the man, wrapping her arms arounaround his waist. "It's good to hear you feel the same about me." It was peaceful and being there in the man's arms made her feel even better. Could she do this forever? Yeah, she could.

“And I will, we’ll have a day of our own.” he assured her, though he was still uncertain about the future. When she wrapped her arms around him, he returned the favor wrapping his around her and pulling her into his embrace. His hand stroked her hair as he looked into the darkened forest behind her. Was this what it felt like to care for another person? It felt nice and all but it made him nervous. Could he mess this up? No, he refused.

He leaned over and placed a kiss on the top of her head, “I could get used to this.”

The sound of her sighing was all that could be heard. She was happy here with this man. He had promised her a date, and she hoped he was going to deliver. "I could too." She agreed. Her voice was soft and content. This was the happiest she had been in a while. Her split even seemed at peace, which never happened. It was getting colder and soon the dress she was wearing was not going to be enough to keep her warm. She almost suggested a quicky here in the woods, but the dark made her think differently. The man would not be able to see what he was doing if she did suggest it. So instead, she turned back towards the town with a sigh. "Let's get back to the hotel. Getting a bit cold out."

There was serene peace in the forest at the moment, nothing could interrupt them. If he could Kenny would stand here with her forever, but it was getting chilly out, not that it bothered him, but her dress was probably wouldn’t let her remain out for too much longer, else she risked catching a cold. “I believe you’re right.” he lifted her up bridal style, “Let’s get back to the hotel, I have a feeling I know how to warm us both up when we get there.” His mind was of course thinking coffee, but if he knew Alyssa and her split enough coffee and dinner wouldn’t be the only thing he was sipping on tonight. With that thought he would turn and take her back on their path out of the woods and back to the hotel.

Alyssa had a really good day. After being promised a date by the man, the only thing that could make it better would be cuddling up in a bed with him. When they got back to the hotel, Alyssa heard Arcane snoring from the same corner he was in the last time they came back from the pub. She collapsed on the bed, pulling the heels off of her feet. She turned on the television for some background noise as she look up to see what Kenny was doing. He had stripped his jacket a bit ago, but Alyssa had not really noticed until now. Damn did he look good in a button down and a tie. She walked over to him and gently pulled his tie to get him to lean down for a kiss.

"You look really good tonight." She said quietly. "Thanks for going to the pub with me again."

They had found themselves in the room again, Arcane must have gone to sleep an hour or two before they returned. The room was in order, it appeared room service had brought a new table for them. To think they believed him when he said he got drunk and collapsed on it, making it break. Kenny placed her down and began undoing the buttons on his shirt’s wrist. She turned on the TV, oddly enough he had never seen one before. Such strange things, televisions were. He had been in Oak on two other occasions and never before had he noticed these film boxes.

He didn’t have time to examine the picture box for long, just as he wandered near the bed, still looking at the television his tie was seized and by extension his entire body was pulled over Alyssa’s form. He kissed her back, their lips touching again. He broke the kiss and smirked, was it time to be bold already? Very well. “And you look as beautiful as always, and don’t mention I enjoy spending time with you in the pub,” he smirked, “And in private.”

Kenny leaned back in for another kiss. His hands gently caressed her thighs, one of them riding her dress up her thigh with no hesitation. Fingers gently continued stroking, as he broke the second kiss and turned his head to the side. Daring fingers laced around the hem of her undergarments, locking in place, the silence soon ruined by the sound of tearing fabric as Kenny tore away a layer of her defenses.

“My mistake, I’ll buy you some new ones, but first you know I need my midnight snack.” with sultry, whispering words, Kenny leaned back in and placed a peck on her lips before kissing down her body. There was no light, there were no interruptions, the moon rolled behind the hotel as if it was giving the privacy and everything faded to black.

Alyssa sat on the bed after their midnight adventure, body being caressed by the silk covers and also the man's hands. She vaguely wondered if she would ever let the scratches along his back heal. Her fingers traced one of the newer ones she had left that night. This time she had actually drawn blood and she slightly felt sorry for it. The feeling passed as soon as it came. If he did not want the scratches, he would not be as good at what he did as he was. She knew as the morning came, he would be gone to find them another job to do. She was kind of surprised that he still had stamina to be with her in private after their seemingly relentless questing. Not that she was complaining, she loved money and she...really liked the man.

She cuddled closer to the man under the blankets, trying to steal some of his warmth. Would she ever love this man? Truthfully she had never loved someone in her life. Only Arcane. The thought of falling for the man further scared her, but she somehow knew if she ended up falling that the man would catch her...well hopefully. She would just have to see where things went between them. Clearing her mind, she laid her head down and fell asleep.
