Graphics and Goodies are not effected by the external image rule for new members.
The lounge and character forums are, with some exceptions.
If the external link is in the first post of the thread, the creation post, it will go through. If it is edited into the creation post or posted in a second or onward post, it cannot be posted in lounge. However, character allows for a second post external link.
