So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | The gentle winds leisurely swayed from side to side as the rustling of the vegetation that surrounded her caused a commotion which evaded her ears. The lulling sound of laughter that spread in the air as couples and families walked over the concrete path, sitting on the wooden benches as children ran around with their pets and played and even cried tears of agony upon the slightest injury caused by the scrapping of the soft grass against their knees. Clad in a pair of running tights that embraced her legs, mischievously showing the pale skin underneath the mesh cloth that gracefully adorned the pants over her thighs as her upper body was hidden underneath the large hoodie within the pockets of which, her hands rested. Her feet that were snuggled up within the joggers strolled over the given path, drowning any scarcely audible sound it made within the commotion caused by her surroundings. Those lilac gaze wandered around, observing the sight she'd seen so many times in her rather long stay in Hargeon. The knight ended up staying there far longer than she had originally intended, and the date of her departure was arriving mere hours away. Just one last time, for a while at least, she wanted to visit the park which had also coincidentally been the one place that she visited when she first arrived. Closing her eyes momentarily, she let the sounds engulf her as the wind pushed past against her skin, caressing and playing with the loose strands of blonde hair that escaped its stretchy captor. She heaved a large sigh as her steps halted, blocking the pathway of some as they had to steer away from her and walk over the empty space. Throwing looks at them, their faces soon turned when her monotonous look refused to change. Alas, yet again, she had driven people away but it made no difference to her. After so long, she had finally gotten herself one friend and that was all she needed. The sudden thought of Alisa entered her head as she shook it to free herself of any thoughts at that point. Pulling the hood of her jacket over her head, she broke out into a jog, allowing seconds to turn into minutes until she felt a few drops of sweat rolling down her face. Halting her steps momentarily, she attempted to catch her breath but her gaze was immediately captured by a young boy, no more than perhaps ten or twelve. His glasses that shielded the seriousness on his face accompanied the mature aura that he radiated. It came as a surprise to her that unlike the other kids, he wasn't running around and getting himself covered in filth, but rather, sat there alone on a small wooden table for two in the park, staring at the opened chess board that lay before him. Xandra looked around him more than once, wondering if he was perhaps lost before approaching him and taking a seat opposing him. Communication wasn't her forte but the least she could do was satisfy her own curiosity, "Hey kid, are you lost?" |

So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | "No", his reply came almost immediately as he shifted his attention from the chess board and towards the blonde. Using his finger to adjust the glasses that rested on the bridge of his nose, he glanced at her as if scrutinizing her before nodding and thrusting his hand forward, over the table. "My name is Bart Decker. It is a pleasure to meet you." Seconds past and the only thing that the knight could do was stare at him. Her personality had always been such where she never found a reason to trust people, and indeed never did. At least, not easily. To her, it didn't matter when the individual she felt suspicious of was a child, an adult or even an animal for that matter of fact. Alas, it didn't take her long to give in as her long, slender hands met with his tiny ones and clasped into a shake, "Xandra Queen". The kid, Bart, nodded his head as if he were thinking of something, "Miss, are you perhaps a mage?" Was it simply curiosity that he felt? Perhaps. However, it wasn't like it was a secret. Even the insignia of her alignment was visible through the mesh material that draped over her thigh. Nodding her head in reply, she refused to answer vocally as his face beamed in happiness while he asked which guild she belonged to. Her answer, like the previous one was short and simple as she stated that she was a part of the well known Knights that everyone knew; the force of the country. It seemed that her answer really enlightened him as he moved on, with a smile on his face, "Lady knight, please play a game of chess with me." The formal tone he inhabited unknowingly compelled her into agreeing. The blonde hadn't played that game in quite a while, not since the passing of the man who was a fatherly figure to her. She was taken back to the past where she would always lose to him as he would laugh and tell her to try again. Once again, shaking away her thoughts, she focused on the game present before her as one simple question that she had asked, "So what brings you to the park if you're not going to run and play around?"- became the start of the boys rant session. It appeared that he had a lot on his mind. "Well, I don't like being at home a lot, and I don't like running around. I prefer playing games like chess, it's so much fun. What's so fun about running around and getting hurt? But I just wanted to get away from my parents. They always nag at me and pester me to study more and more, and become smarter. They say that I have to be the best, better than my two older brothers who are scholars and it's just so frustrating." The knight had become so engrossed in listening to him that she had diverted her attention from the game and ended up losing. A small scoff escaped her lips, "I guess I lost." Bart chuckled, before handing her a small bag, "Don't open it now, it's gift for playing with me." She was hesitant, but accepted it nonetheless. Standing up, she walked towards the boy before raising her hand to ruffle through his brunet hair. She wasn't an expert at talking, but she was indeed someone who made sure she said what she wanted to. "You're still pretty young. Ignore whatever they say and just live your life. Do whatever you think is fun and you'll enjoy life a lot more." Pulling her hand back to her side, she was lost in thought before a small smile made its way onto her lips, "Let's go running. Maybe then you'll understand why people like it." |
