His eyes have a yellow-ish brown tone often sparkling like gold under extreme sunlight. His facial characteristics exude kindness and serenity. Naaru is seen wearing mostly black skin tight pants and black long sleeved shirts-accompanied by his red cape with white crosses- and black boots.

Extra: Naaru wears a golden cross as well as a set of silver earrings.

Personality

Personality:  Naaru is a gentle and polite person, mostly seen with a smile on his face. His kind words and calm tone make him well-liked by others. He is the type of person that will sit down and listen to other people's worries, often trying to comfort them if possible. He won't attempt to start a conversation often but also won't attempt to end it, if others start opening up to him he will open up in return making friends with the person. Naaru is a loyal, protective and caring friend. He expects people to have proper manners and act civilised, without omitting a few jokes here and there.

He also loves nature and all living things, with the exception of those that would cause harm to others for pleasure. He will not outright hate that type of person, but he will try through words and examples to make them see that their way of approaching life is not the best and that life should be respected.

Likes:

  • Nature: Naaru loves the smell of flowers and green in spring, being his favourite season as it's called the season of life when everything blooms. He is also especially kind and loving towards animals, often seeing that they allow him to sit near them and often stroke them.
  • Holy Scriptures: Although a man of the clergy he doesn't spend much of his time praying inside the church but instead studies ancient scriptures pertaining to the faith of Illumin. He hopes that one day he will be able to commune with the divine again.
  • Music: Naaru has a beautiful voice making him adept at chanting hymns and prayers. He loves serene melodies and most of all the melancholic sound of violin.

Dislikes:

  • Malevolent People: Naaru dislikes dishonest people. He can tell if a person is spinning a lie for a malevolent cause and tries to best them with his own intelligence.
  • Bustling Places: Naaru dislikes multiple noise sources, like the market and as such he will only go there during the very early hours that people have yet to gather. He doesn't really mind the noise in the bars as long as it's kept to a certain volume, and not to the point where he can't hear his own thoughts.

Motivations:

  • Commune with the Divine: Naaru has been in contact once with a Seraph through a lucid dream and was granted a scripture of divine power that told the story of prophets and holy champions of old. He now seeks a way to come in contact once again with the holy beings and have all of his questions answered.
  • Providing Help: Naaru joined the clergy since a very young age, he was taught selflessness and benevolence, he was given help in his moments of need and is now keen on repaying the lives around him with the same kindness and tenderness. Never one to turn down a plea for help, Naaru will do his best to provide assistance.

Fears:

  • Loss of a Life: Naaru thinks of life as the ultimate gift and as such holds it in a high place. He often uses his healing and protective magic to keep others safe from harm if it can't be done with normal means. He fears that there might come a day where he won't be able to save an innocent life within his reach.
  • Darkness | Abandoned by the Light: Although not a developed fear, Naaru deep down is terrified of the light abandoning him and his world filling with darkness. However, for the most part, his faith in the light is like a shining beacon to his life and those of his friends.

Magic

a) Divine Words : Used for healing and supplementary purposes
b) Anointed Words : Used for protective and buffing purposes.

History

History: In days long past a holy war was declared against the forces of darkness. Soldiers of Illumin stood proud and courageous against the shadowy fiends. The soldiers had two leaders of remarkable magic potential through their faith in the divine. The divine oracle spoke words of healing that made even the most grievous of wounds disappear in a matter of seconds, the Anointed Champion spoke words of courage and protection keeping the soldiers' morale high and their defenses impenetrable. After the long war ended and the two leaders disappeared the holy words would never be heard again for eons.

Naaru was found crying on one of the streets outside the capital, a merchant brought him to the guards and they gave him to the clergy. Not being able to talk except a single word -Naaru- or seeming to have any memories of who he was, the clergy decided to take him under their care as a faithful of Illumin and give him the name Naaru. He wasn't a difficult kid and would listen and do what he was told often with great zealous earning the praise of the priests. He already knew how to write and understand what he was reading from what the priests found out through some tests and loved hearing of Illumin's teachings and the entertaining tales of the holy knights' adventures. His life was simple and happy despite the fact that he was unable to speak, his memories of his old life started coming back day by day. His parents were part of the clergy in Magnolia, all three of them were travelling to Crocus, however both his parents lost their lives in a landslide near the capital. Naaru ventured alone for some time crying and was then that he was found by the merchant.

Four years later on the night of his eleventh birthday Naaru had a dream. He found himself in a grand church with beautiful stained glass depicting Illumin and the Seraphim with great beauty, his mind felt at peace. Seeing a brilliant light approach him, a gentle and warm feeling made way in his heart. Once the light dispersed partially he saw a Seraph standing in front of him with a gentle smile, his hand reaching for Naaru. The Seraph looked enormous in front of Naaru but he wasn't alarmed, the Seraph's characteristics were serene and his hair and eyes were bathed in a gold glow, Naaru never saw such a beautiful sight before.

Giving his hand to the Seraph, Naaru saw a vision of the holy war, of the two leaders bathed in the light of Illumin, strange words were spoken in his mind and he felt growing insane by the second each word drove him closer and closer to madness. Naaru was being tormented when suddenly he felt the Seraph's touch again, immediately a peaceful feeling filled his mind once more. The holy being presented him with a book, black and red in color it beared a red jewel in the shape of a fire in the middle. Naaru took the book in his hands feeling it's velvet texture, he was confused and fascinated at the same time, his hand reached for the jewel in the middle.

Suddenly the dream started fading, the Seraph still smiling towards him and the pages of the book were flipping furiously. Naaru woke up from the dream, something felt strange inside him but something also felt strange to the touch, he looked to his side and saw the book in the dream laying near his fingertips. He opened the book only to find that all the pages were blank. Being confused and exhausted Naaru decided to go back to sleep, once the morning would come he'd figure something out.

Naaru woke up the next morning only to find that he had already skipped breakfast and the morning prayers. He reached for the book beside him and opened it again, this time however the was a word written in the first page. He remembered that word, it was one of the words that almost drove him insane, now however he felt a warm feeling seeing it written.

Days passed peacefully, until one morning the guards of the city saw some soldiers return severely wounded and immediately called for help from the healers. Naaru interested in magic run to the place as well and saw the soldiers' treatment, however something was wrong, where one wound closed two more were inflicted and the soldiers were writhing in pain. The capital's best healers were summoned but the newly created wounds only seemed to become worse each time. Despite Naaru being frightened by the sight, he had an urge to walk up to the soldiers and help them.

The priests asked him to come back but he didn't listen, he kneeled near the soldiers and looked at one of them in the eyes, the soldier looked back at him and slowly calmed down. Naaru stood up and went to the middle of the soldiers, closing his eyes, turning his head to the sky and placing his hands in a plea position, he called upon the word he saw written in the book loud and clear. Light filled the soldiers and moments later their wounds vanished, Naaru fell unconscious on a soldier's arms and found himself in his bed the next day.

When he woke up, a high ranked member of the church approached him together with the priests that were already in his room. He asked Naaru about the book they had found in his drawer and for the first time in four years Naaru spoke and explained everything that had occured in the dream much to the priests' amazement, his voice calm and beautiful. Hearing the boy's story the Grand Cardinal appointed magic users as trainers for Naaru and ordained him a priest of Illumin.

Ten years later Naaru has become quite knowledgeable in Illumin's ways, growing stronger each day and unlocking parts of the ancient history written within his book. He now seeks to better the world by providing help to those who need it and ultimately be able to commune with the Seraphim again.
