HomeDominic, Deacon of Light Dominic had traveled from the city to the outskirts of the forest as instructed. Thankfully it didn't take long for him to find inspector Nilan, though because he was busy speaking to several people with lab coats, the clergyman waited to the side. When he had caught the inspector's sight for a moment, he nodded with a smile as a greeting, but gestured with his hand to inform him he could take his time, given he seemed busy. After another minute, Nilan had walked away to speak to Dominic, "Father Dominic, thank you for coming" he shook the clergyman's hand. "Father?" Dominic was surprised. He rarely admitted to anyone in Orchidia he was a clergyman, which was why he only wore his traveling cloths instead of his vestments. He smiled, figuring that Nilan had done his research, showing his skills as an investigator, "I'm a deacon, not a priest, Mr. Nilan" he said humbly. "Not yet, but you are on the way to" Nilan pointed out, to which Dominic nodded, admitting defeat, "But that to the side, it seems there was an overgrown plant, a giant weed that we managed to successful cut down; we suspect it was caused by some careful use of magic, but we are trying to collect samples to make sure." Dominic would look over to the people in lab coats, assured they were scientists trying to figure out the issue. Nilan then handed the deacon a bag containing several tools in order to collect samples. With that, Dominic then made his way into the forest without hesitation, accepting the quest without the investigator confirming with him. 273 |
