Pulling her coat a little tighter around her and throwing the hood of the coat over her head, Ianthe shuddered a bit as she walked near the edge of Nanuq sea. The cold was really annoying but she fought through it. Ending up on a walkable path Ianthe spotted something from a distance. Moving ever closer to get a better look she realized it was a small figure and it looked as if it was casting magic. Ianthe was almost sure this is who she was looking for, but in order to know for sure she had to get much closer and so she did. Ianthe’s footsteps must have been light because she was close enough to be just behind what she now saw was a small boy, no younger than the age of eight or nine. She saw how happy he was as he raised skeletons from the frosty snow. The boy with his pure white hair spoke with a soft voice to the skeletons and played with them. It was a pure sight to see but a lonely one as well, if he had to make the dead his friends who knows what kind of things he went through. Lost in watching him Ianthe snapped to attention when she saw the skeletons drop and saw that the boy noticed her. His eyes grew wide with fear and he took off running. Ianthe chase after him and he didn’t get far as the deep snow tripped him up, causing him to fall. Luckily Ianthe was quick on her feet and caught the boy before he could hit the ground, picking him up in her arms. “Do not worry little one, I’m not here to hurt you.. “ Ianthe’s voice was calm and soothing as she hoped to calm the boy down. The boy began to cry heavy streams of tears and Ianthe set him back down, staying at his level. “ I-I dont have water or ice magic like the rest of the town. My magic is going to cause me to become an outcast. My mother and father won’t love me anymore. I’m too afraid to use it around people but I love my magic, they are my friends, they can be good, they have been being good..What if I get thrown in jail? What if people think I’m evil? “ The boy started to cry once more, his icy blue eyes watering up. Ianthe shook her head and wiped his face. “ I don’t think anyone is going to throw you in jail, you haven’t done anything wrong. Having a magic like yours does not make you evil and I’m sure people will like you just the same...Now let’s go get you home. “ The boy hesitant at first nodded his head and the two soon arrived at the boy’s place. The parents were very sweet and Ianthe thought she would have to do some convincing but no they accepted their child. Once the town got wind of it everyone was at ease and most had an audible “ aww “. Ianthe made her way back to Muhin who rewarded her and made mention of a party for the little mage. Ianthe was glad everything worked out but found herself worn out. Heading back to the inn she needed to figure out how much longer she would be staying in this town.
