Personal Name: Diwali “Yasha” Amaratavi Age: 21 Gender: Male Sexuality: - Class: Warlock Rank: D-rank Guild: Phantom Lord Tattoo: Right Shoulder Face: One Piece - Enel Appearance Height: 2.0 m / 6’7’’ Weight: 81.5 kg / 180 lbs Hair: Blonde Eyes: Blue Overall: An uncannily aryan figure, Yasha sports blonde hair that he keeps no lower than his ears. His blue, broad and sluggish looking eyes give him an eery expression. His eyebrows are a very dark brown, almost looking out of place beneath the pale blonde on the top of his head. Between his eyes is a long but thin nose-bridge that has characteristic, horizontal marks along the front. His cheekbones are rather prominent, and his wide jaw and long mouth make for a stifling grin. His neck is thick, going over into two broad shoulders, and a toned, muscular and body that tells of fitness and discipline. Yasha is what can be described as a hulk of a man, standing at a solid 6 feet and 7 inches. He towers over most people, and his excessively broad and long torso don't make him seem any smaller. While this can make him seem somewhat intimidating, his general demeanor overwhelmingly calm and peaceful, rarely leading people to judge him for his size. He wears attire traditional to his culture. While his upper half is bare on a consistent basis (unless it gets very cold), Yasha's pants are a convential wear for a monk from his monastery. The loose and baggy nature of them, spun from silky cloth and tied like a robe, make them a comfortable outfit for any situation. And should the weather turn on him, he will usually simply untie the cloths attached to his pants and throw them over his body. Extra: Yasha has unusually long earlobes that reach all the way down to his sternum. It would seem like this had something to do with his religion, but it is simply a fashion choice. Yasha is interested in body modding. Personality Personality: Yasha is a proud and passionate, deeply religious individual. His convictions and beliefs are nothing he chose out of desperation. He genuinely believes in the teachings and values he received in his monastery. He trusts that the truth of the world and the secrets of the universe can be found in his spiritual path. But while this is all fair and good, Yasha is quite arrogant and intolerant when his views are challenged. Whilst he is a calm and genuinely relaxed individual, he will physically confront those who don’t agree with him. But despite this, he rarely seems hateful or aggressive. His beliefs don’t allow him to, and he will claim that all he feels towards those that wrong him is disappointment. On the other hand, he has no interest in politics, social issues and absolutely no sense for delicacy. He is upfront and insensitive in all diplomatic discourse. In this mindset, he does try to subvert those around him, be they in the guild or otherwise, to join him in meditative sessions or other religious practices. He rarely gets angry at those who turn him down, but frustration that more people don't try to walk the path of purity does emerge from time to time. However, because of his constant attempts to get people entangled in a conversation, he is gregarious and homely, and a pleasure to be around most of the time. Being a good listener is just one of the attributes he has gained over the years. By relentlessly investing into the thoughts and problems of others, he has developed and unparalleled sense for agitation or unrest in others. Yasha is also not shy of giving solid advice and physically helping those around him to achieve what they seek. This might seem off-putting to a many people, as the therapeutic quality of his religion is questionable at best and the company he keeps isn’t exactly receptive to help or kindness. But when it gets down to the meat of an issue, Yasha is unafraid to push people further than they may want to go at first. Furthermore, while Yasha is a calm and gentle man who abhors aggression, he is not innocent of attempting to entrap people. Although this is a facet of his personality he simply fails to control, it has had consequences that he tried long and hard to pay repentance for. His acquired ability for reading people and their intentions allow him to find which buttons to push intuitively and make him an exhausting partner for conversation. And much to his dismay, getting a rise out of people is not something he does out of pure hearted altruism. Although he does see it as his task to convert people, Yasha finds enjoyment in the fact. However, he is not someone who attempts to be mysterious or closed himself. Although he is quite observant and does seem to enjoy psychoanalyzing others, Yasha has never once failed to be honest about his own distress and worry. In that sense, he finds that banter is a substantial part of life, and is quite important to maintain healthy relationships. He knows of his own weakness and is aware of who he is and how others see him, and is not afraid to read those that question his person. His in some ways contradicting behavior of striving for peace and freedom, but being a bundle of mischief and a loudmouth while at it, make for an off-putting personality in fights. He never fights to kill, or even for fun. Although his magical abilities may have purely destructive qualities, he is almost always on the defensive waiting for the opponent to attack, wearing them out and forcing them to concede. If the fight has low stakes, he sometimes likes to dance around his opponents, tip-toeing around them while simply blocking or diverting any attempt of assault. He finds it fun to get a rise out of violent people just to tire them out and force them to see the futility of fighting him. All in all, Yasha can be described as a passionate, but mischievous individual. He seems kind but determined to those around him, humorous and outgoing with most people, but has a vindictive, violent and dangerous streak about him. Likes:

Fears: His teachings conclude that fear, like all emotions is merely an illusion. To “ascend” to a higher state of being, those that follow the spiritual path need to rid themselves of all fears. But although this is the case, they still understand that they are mortal beings, incapable of a divine attribute such as fearlessness.
Motivations: Similar to fears, the spiritual path teaches that all desires are illusory and only serve the purpose to deter someone from ascension. But as with fears, they understand themselves as living, breathing creatures and not as divine that require reason to exist. But in that sense, Yasha desires very few and lives a life of austerity.
Magic Magic Name: Monochrome Magic Element: Colorless / Non-Elemental Magic Description: Monochrome is a relatively simple, but unique form of magic that, according to its creator, is designed to “draw the color and radiance out of everything”. It is a magic of suppression and countering offensive forces through use of offensive spells that can also apply debuffs, signified by actually dousing anything it affects into a monochrome shade, removing any gradient of color beyond black and white. The user is able to wield monochrome magic like an element, shaping it to his desire and attacking and using supplementary spells such as bindings or movement abilities. Monochrome can also supply the user with additional strength. Its naturally suppressing quality being its strongest suit, Monochrome is highly effective against magics that rely on frequent spellcasting and grand attacks. It is a magic that relinquishes defensive options to subdue the enemy without killing them. History History: Yasha was raised in a monastery lying somewhere in the western outskirts of Sin, on a small island far away from any real civilization. It was a deeply religious monastery that followed something they called the spiritual path, attempting to find enlightenment in magic. Yasha knew nothing else besides the life inside this gated community. He was never allowed to travel to the mainland alongside the adults, told that he was too young and at risk of being tainted by the impurity that runs rampant on the mainland. His childhood proceeded as normal as it could have gone for an aspiring ascetic monk. Students of the monastery were taught some minor magic to aid their search for enlightenment and ascension. Yasha was fairly gifted in mastering the very rudimentary and limited practices he was taught, but managed to catch the eye of his teachers. He was a generally curious youngster with a natural knack for learning and understanding things that were told to him. He was also a genuine believer of the things he was taught, despite his inquisitive nature. This was when he earned the moniker “Yasha”, which was the name for a low class of divine beings that where overall benevolent but had a capricious streak. A name he has adopted in place of his real name that he rarely lets anyone know, as names are an overall sacred thing in his religion. It was when he was about 12 that he was taken to the mainland the first time. Here he saw things that were wholly out of the ordinary. Things he could have never dreamed of, and things that he found an unrelenting desire to discover and understand. Upon returning to the monastery, he found himself being drawn to the outside world once more. Worrying his teachers and mentors, they decided it would be best to not let the impressionable Yasha see too much of the world. Disappointed and disillusioned, Yasha took to books, becoming a rather introverted teenager who stopped socializing. It was in the books where he learned that his teachers and mentors didn’t tell the students everything there was to know about the spiritual path, and that the magic they learned barely scratched the surface of what those that seek the spiritual path are able to practice. Yasha began studying and reading about people that followed the spiritual path in an entirely different way, going out into the world and proselytizing, attempting to find followers and students there to pass on their knowledge to. He also learned about the secrets of monochromatic magic. Asking his mentors about the magic, he was told to stop reading and stay as far away from Monochrome as possible, as the consequences it entailed and the conditions that needed to be met to wield it properly were dangerous and unfitting of those who sought true ascension and enlightenment. Feigning trust in his masters, Yasha began plotting his escape, stealing books and taking with him everything he needed to make his way through the world. On another trip to the mainland with some of the older students, Yasha made a run for it as soon as they hit the coast. Surprise and shock ran through his masters, and he was pursued by some of his fellow students who were sworn to bringing him back to the monastery to receive punishment for his betrayal. It took several days, but he was found and incapacitated. It was then and there that he used Monochrome for the first time, destroying the spell binding that kept him and catching his captors off guard. Making a run for it, he managed to escape for good this time, leaving behind no trace as to where he could have run. Deciding to make his way through Earthland, he began learning about the world, trying to spread his religion as he moved along. It did not take long until he learned about a country full of magic and tumultuous happenings. Fiore. Making his way to the other end of the continent, he had just crossed the border when he was assaulted by one of his former mentors. Told to return or face punishment for disobeying the rules of the monastery and using forbidden magic, Yasha refused to comply. The ensuing fight didn’t last long, as Yasha was swiftly taken care of and left for dead. It may have been an act of a benevolent force that caused Yasha to be found, tended to and nursed back to health by none other than a dark mage who had witnessed the confrontation from afar. Told to seek out Phantom Lord, a guild that was home to many who opposed authority, Yasha made his way and managed to join and find a place after a long journey. Reference: Me, myself and I. |
