Wondering what got the man so upset, he forgot about his hunger for a moment and walked up to him. “Hey… What’s wrong?” he asked, concerned. “Sorry about the delay… The cook quit for some reason. I’m in over my head here,” he whispered. Haru realized that he wouldn’t tell this to his usual customers, but was divulging it to him as he had helped him under many circumstances before. Understanding the plight of the bartender, the healer offered to help immediately. “I can cook! Let me help you,” he said. Batra seemed ecstatic and thanked him a dozen times as he quickly opened the kitchen door for him.
“You will find the apron and the hat in the cupboard there,” he said before vanishing behind the door. Batra popped back in almost immediately and assured him that he won’t be alone in the kitchen much longer. “Don’t worry. I won’t let you cook alone all night. I’ll find help as soon as I can. And… Thanks again,” he said, sounding truly grateful.
