Jeremiah Ali
ooc:

And it was on. Jeremiah watched as the woman spoke her last words. He was going to deal with this quickly and after this he would see how Shura was doing. The odds were against him and still the young Savannian stood with proud. Jeremiah has grown a lot since joining Phantom Lord, although the pressure was always on him it seemed, he never succumbed to the thoughts of giving up. The distance between him and the blonde woman in front of him was 21 meters as she then decided to speak. Shaba his guardian Dardian remained under the ground in 7 meters in front of the other blonde woman and still 5 meters in front of the lightning lady. The creature was a threat too, so The young Phantom had to be very careful. The positions remained for a moment.  The distance between both women were 2 meters, so Jeremiah could obviously see as one of the blondes nudged the other. As the lightning blonde neared the end of her sentence, she began to grab hold of her weapon and shifting her feet. Mimicing her to ready himself, Jeremiah did the same as his right arm crossed his over his left shoulder to grab the hilt of his Samehada, and as she propelled forward, he'd dash forward. Jeremiah cleared a distance of 10 meters in an instant and maneuvered only a little to the woman's right to move into an opening, swinging his sword immediately after moving 10 meters from his previous position, extending his arm for full reach. Basically his opponent would have moved blindly into his blade. Just as his opponent would reach him, Samehada would be on it's way to dinner. Since Jeremiah only moved forward ten meters, the distance between him and the blonde woman when he reached 10 meters would be two meters, three at most. With his reach alone plus Samehada's reach, that was enough for this attack to be a success.

Samehada would aim to slice across the middle of his opponents neck. Naturally this was a killing blow, but you can never underestimate someone's will to live. Samehada's blade would rip the neck of his opponents open, tearing the flesh and fulfilling his bloody desires. At Jeremiah's very moment of swinging his blade the woman would have lifted her hand. Even if she managed to release the lightning bolt all that would happen is that the attack would be absorbed by Ooga Booga. It didn't matter what happened really, ooga booga was enough to absorb any incoming damage and she would not be able to react quick enough to Jeremiah's ooga booga given the circumstances.

Meanwhile The Dardian remained under the ground, he was waiting for just the right moment, when he felt that things were becoming hard for Jeremiah on the field. The Dardian waited, trusting his master to be strong. Jeremiah would handle things with the takeover rune knight  and the pet, if the other blonde decided to join in then Jeremiah would react accordingly.

It was possible that the Young Phantom's speed wasn't enough to feed Samehada with a simple swing, but this woman placed herself in a tight position by simply following a routine instead of making way for an opportunity to react. As for the animal that was with the lightning woman, he'd handle her accordingly, depending on how the pet reacted to the two humans reacted, he would react as well. The animal was on the left side of the takeover mage and at the speed they were moving Jeremiah doubted it would be able to do anything to stop his attack from hitting his target. Given his distance now that he dashed forward, a good 10 meters from his previous position, he was a total of 25 meters away from the guild.

Hatsuharu
Haru didn’t dare take his eyes off the demon in front of them, but from the corner of his eyes, he could see Salem drop down three meters to his left, hopping off of Fia’s hand. The nagging fear still lingered quite a bit, but seeing Fia grow even bigger bolstered Haru’s confidence. With her and Aki by his side, maybe they had a chance of pulling this off. Thankfully, the healer was not forced into fighting this time around. He was in his safe-space of supporting those who attacked, and the familiarity of that role meant he would be doing what he was best at. He may have given up being a complete pacifist, but he wasn’t a fool to charge into a fight when he didn’t need to. So, he kept his position, ready to protect the titan when necessary.

Haru’s eyes widened the moment he saw the demon move, which was at the same time Fia stepped forward to attack. The first thing he noticed was his right hand, raised to point toward her forward leg. The red-headed Knight immediately put his palms together the moment he saw the hand rise, and swiftly pointed his left palm to the front of Fia’s right leg. A two-meter-diameter Shockshield instantly formed three meters away from Fia’s front leg, in line with the incoming red bolt that escaped the demon’s finger. The spell sent towards Fia’s leg would meet the shield and explode on contact, a safe distance away from the titan mage. The explosion would destroy the shield, but it would have served its purpose of protecting Fia.

Meanwhile, Haru noticed that Shura had shot another spell at the Titan at the same time he shot the red bolt. A peculiarity he had missed to notice until that point. The demon’s left hand was unnatural, and it would seem he can extend his reach with it, which he did by shooting it towards Fia’s upper body. Haru only took a small quick glance upwards to see if the giant Knight was doing fine. He wanted to be ready to heal her in case she got hurt very badly. However, he did not wish to divert his attention away from the opponent for too long. It was a good decision, because, immediately after casting these two spells, the demon had dashed forward to dodge the giant arm that was sent his way and decreased the gap between him and the Titan. And to top it off, Haru noticed that he had also cast another spell during his dash.

The healer had no more defences in his arsenal that he could cast to protect Fia from this third attack. He sincerely hoped it wasn’t something that would completely cripple her. If the giant somehow withstood the assault, then it would be time to make their move; considering, the demon had dashed towards the explosion that was caused by his own spell as it clashed with Haru’s shield. The healer hoped this would throw the demon off-guard and make him vulnerable to a counter attack. In any case, he stayed on full alert, ready to assist his comrades to either go on the offensive or defensive, depending on the situation.

#28Akira Shimada

A Phantom's Last Apparition - Page 2 Empty Sun Apr 22, 2018 10:22 am

Akira Shimada
Note About Spells:

So now the Titan could get even bigger... Interesting. Clearly Aki and Tsuru were not the only ones who had spared some time to better the control they had over their magical gifts. Aki angled herself towards the demon, she didn't really need to turn towards her comarade to know she'd employed her magical arsenal to become a more domineering presence; the steam that billowed off of her was enough of a cue even from the corner of Aki's eyes. Maybe this was her way of dealing with the fear that the Phantom Lord member tried to strike in their heart. Maybe Fia was just trying to outdo him. Aki could only hope she was suceeding... No not really. Aki could do a lot more, now that the demon's attention had been stolen by the large woman. At least the plan was somewhat on track.

Akira hadn't really expected much out of this encounter, other than the fact that it would give birth to a violent conflict. Their approach would've worked even better if the opponent cowered or something, like most would owing to the sheer monstrosity that stood in front of them. But clearly, the Phantom Lord demon was not the average mage. It became apparent pretty quickly that this man was no stranger to battles either. He reacted rather swiftly to Fia's motions, shooting his left hand forward, which was clearly infused with mana as it reached for her... her chest? Was this demon idiot really that vulgar? Maybe he was aiming for the neck. This really did not sit well with the young Knight. His other hand simply clicked but a bolt shot out heading straight for Fia's leg. Aki knew the healer would have to handle the damage caused, or dive into his collection to protect the giant woman from it. Tsuru was good enough, she was sure he could handle it, his protective instincts had always been very sharp. Aki needed to contribute in other ways. The demon had managed to react to Fia moving forward and rearing her arm back, with a slew of spells and motions. Needless to say, Aki didn't just stand there idly while all this happened.

The moment the man shot out his hand, the Shimada flicked out her gun with her right hand, holding it straight out towards the demon. She had to discourage the demon from closing the distance between him and the Titan, maybe just the threat would be enough? That wasn't the case. Aki noticed the explosion at his feet, as the dash commenced. She couldn't risk shooting while he was still in motion. The girl was no master tracker. While her mind had gone on and attempted to calculate and predict how far she'd need to shoot, in order to incercept his dash, she wasn't quite sure that her skill would allow for it, especially given that centimeter of uncertainty, owing to his demonic presence. But, the instant that he stopped, she pulled the trigger. This caused a mana bullet to eject out of the barrel, flying at Aki's shoulder level towards the demon. While she pulled the trigger, she also opened the fist of her left hand, and swiftly swerved it across her hip at a slight angle so that her open palm now pointed towards the demon.

The ball followed the motion of her palm and so it arced towards its destination, the slight angle of her hand accounting for the incline so that the spark always remained a meter from the ground. She had the option of using her palm to manouver the light around any obstacles, should they get in her way, till it reached its destination. The ball approached the dashing demon from his three o'clock while the bullet whizzed from his two o'clock. The distance was easy for the magical spells to cover, within a fraction of a second after their release. Considering that the bullet took a straight path, it reached slightly before the arcing ball, but since both traveled rather fast the difference between their arrival would barely be noticeable by anyone. Aki clenched her left fist again, once the ball reached him, to cause Lunate to explode into a four meter diameter sphere, causing piercing damage to anything caught in it.

If this didn't take him down, she'd probably have to whip out some more of her light magic. Her gun could only do so much. With that in mind, she holstered the weapon and clenched her right fist as well, in case she needed to create a bigger blast.

Requiem
Given the rather bleak terrain and the fact that she was well clear of any fighting, her mind was started to delve into some pretty dark areas that she had tried to forget, Just kill them all, they chose to throw their lot in with a demon of the abyss.

But Illumin always teaches second chances.

Second chances? Do I think that someone who sold their soul deserves such a thing? Not to mention if I were at their mercy, they would show any?

But if I kill them...does that not make me as bad if not worse than them?

She kept glancing towards the fight to make sure she was out of range. She wasn't sure how far the demon could attack, but given that he had waited until they were so close before fighting she was confident that she was still clear. Although given that the demon was fighting a giant steam bath person, maybe the neko waaaay back wasn't going to be a priority. But, you know, Requiem had seen stranger choices in a fight. The assassin would be ready to dive if a spell did go towards her. She continued her movement towards her right, which would take her to the left of the guild hall. She made a mental note to workout more so she wouldn't end up being left behind again.

Fiammetta Barone

AdvancingTitan

OOC Notes:

"Biggest mistake to make when yer fightin' Goliath... Is to think that yer David. Sorry to break it to ya kid, but fairy tells don' apply when yer tradin' blows."

Fia's surrogate father had told her those words long, long ago. And never had she imagined, that she'd be taking that advice from the perspective of Goliath. Yet there she was, feeling the same odd anxiousness he surely had, facing such a small yet collected opponent. Though, in her case, the slight fear and cautiousness she felt was rather artificial.

The moment Fiammetta had stepped forward with her right foot, the man acted. The sudden snapping to action gave Fia no time to consider her method of avoiding them, relying only on her immediate reaction to simply sway away from them. Fortunately, she was already rearing back for the punch, so even the slightest flinch away from the spell put her safely out of their 15 meter range. His arm was quick, yes, but given Fia only had to move a little more than a quarter of a meter - less than an 1/80 of her full height - there was very little effort needed to not get hit by the spell. The flaming arm would not hit its mark, thanks to Shura's overestimation. Fia briefly wondered if he was overly ambitious, or just trying to cop a feel.

Fia did not even attempt to avoid the other spell fired, partially because her attention had been drawn by the flaming arm. Fortunately, the extra layer of durability granted by the armor she no longer wore was able to take the force of the explosion, at the cost of losing some of that same durability. The sheer force of the explosion was not even enough to throw her off balance, given her Titanic strength at the time. Throughout all this, Salem was undeterred carrying out the movements he did.

Fia carried out her powerful opening punch, but now addressed something else as well. Shura had not retracted his attempted strike with his flaming hand, so just as it had missed and his other spell proved in effective, Fia added in a quick uppercut to the fire construct with her right - quickly followed up by the same Titanic blow with her left - not caring in the slightest if it might burn her. Though it was not in range to strike her torso, Fia's right arm was definitely in range to strike Shura's fire-arm. The residual effects of her guantlets could bear the damage, and even if her knuckles stung a little... Well, that'd just make her a bit angrier. Regardless of if her attempt at destroying the flaming arm while it lingered in front of her worked, Fia would keep her right up, a simple guard covering in front of her face and upper body.

As her attack went through, it struck behind the man who'd dashed forward. During that same dash forward, he unleashed some strange orb at Fia. Salem noticed in the instant it flew past. but neglected to act just yet. He was rather curious to see what it did before he actually interfered. The orb would make contact with Fia, but the damage of the branding inflicted would only serve to destroy the remaining residual durability of Fia's armor. If the brands still remained, she was ready to bear their burning.

Shura was closer her than ever, to the point where Fia could very well have stepped on him if she wanted to. But she wasn't feeling particularly reckless right then, not after his rapid fire barrage and with the lingering instinctual fear he struck in her. So Fia did not attack Shura. But she made it clear he'd chosen poorly in coming closer.

As his dash stopped, Fia raised her left hand - the one he'd moved forward from and left out of his vision - slightly off the ground. In a simple quick move, she opened her palm, and pulled her arm back and up until it was over Shura's head, about 5 meters above him. Her palm, facing down to the ground, stopped there, as she watched her demonic opponent, grinning ever so slightly. She'd wait to see how he'd move next, and this time, she was ready to actually put the effort in, instead of throw a clumsy baiting strike.

As Fia had moved her hands, Salem had moved slightly, walking forward until he was next to Fia's front foot. He maintained the lingering effects of his strength-sapping spell, figuring it useful for his Titanic companion. For now, he made little extra effort, aside from giving a wide, malicious grin to the demon. Although Salem did wish the best for Fia, he was far more interested in how the fight would progress from there.

#31Shura Ranzu †

A Phantom's Last Apparition - Page 2 Empty Tue Apr 24, 2018 8:09 pm

Shura Ranzu †
OOC:

Spoiler:
Dashing inward he heard the giant mutter something. Something interesting, a fairy tale of times long since past. Shura made a comment while he came out of a dash running at the opening between the legs of the giant. “Who says we are trading blows?” Which held true for the moment. Shura had not taken any damage during the course of this fight. He had inflicted some kind of pain but the Titan was unaffected. In reality he just broke the tough exoskeleton of the titan (armor), from the barrage from the  explosion on her leg and the curse he placed on the titan. The left was a miss but it was not out. Shura noticed the giant was aiming to take his magical arm out. In a quick motion he jerked his arm up and back. This did two things, first it caused the arm to arc upward after missing the Titan slightly by propelling itself. Then by pulling back on his left he caused the arm to retract moving at 20 meters a second. The titan's uppercut would have hit nothing but air. Even if she managed to connect she would only cause burning damage to her own hand due to the arm being raw flames.

The titan's guard had been put up from the initial attacks. Smart on her end, Shura wasn't really to sure how he was going to plow through that kind of defense without the proper tools or spells. Per usual he would have to improvise on how this was going to play out. The detached forearm made a snapping motion as it latched onto the rest of his arm. Shura was well aware of being so close but this was the only way he could keep fighting. He was at a disadvantage during this whole fight. Get to far away and the other two could launch spells, stay close and they can't launch spells but things get extremely difficult. Of course he choose the latter because it was more fun that way. His strength was still being sapped so he couldn't contest her strength like he wanted to. He had to stick to hit and run tactics. This next set of moves were going to be extremely dicey. Or something else, something unexpected.

Shura slid to a full halt, Instead of fighting he did something no one would have saw coming. Or better yet something intelligent. He was diplomatic in nature to despite his warrior lineage. He knew he was fighting against the odds in this situation. Even if he were to beat the knights, who is to say someone even stronger wouldn't appear. The rest of the peanut gallery had not used a bit of their mana. He was fighting a battle of attrition alone. In his current state he wasn't able to take all of them down like he wanted to. He was fighting a losing battle no matter how hard he spun it.

He placed his hands in the air calmly.

“I give up, I can't win. Take me in but leave my guild and members alone. I am the Phantom Lord Guild Master, Shura Ranzu. Take me quietly and we can end this pointless battle. If not we will continue this whole bout till someone or people die. No point in needless bloodshed.”

He wasn't the current guild master, but the stand in one since Joan was out. They would have had no intel or idea who was the current master. Given his aggressiveness and strength they had no reason to suspect he was lying. No doubt he would be worth a lot to the Rune Knights coming along quietly. With the hand hovering over him he knew she could squash him or try to. But he kept his arm active for that reason. He turned off the mark on the titan as a means of showing good faith against the titan. He needed to show that there was no reason to keep fighting if he turned himself down.

“Taking me in will leave Phantom Lord without a leader. Take the head of the snake and the body will cease to function.”

If she choose to attack he could easily repel her one hand and keep fighting. But this was one hell of a opportunity. Take in a demon guild master, who would pass such a thing up?

“Agree and I will tell Phantom Lord to stand down. You knights can all go home knowing you took down a high level threat that existed right under their noses.”

Shura was ready to act at any given moment the knights seemed like they weren't hearing the deal. Hopefully someone in Rune Knights had the smarts to take this deal. Shura was a man of his word and had no reason to go back on it unless they didn't want this. Besides they can't really do much to him in jail, he has no prior record. If anything this is his first offense on record besides being in Phantom Lord. It was selfish to put everyone else at risk due to some twisted idea of fun. He never asked for this fight he just obliged it. If anything the Rune Knights were the suspicious ones. There was some higher power here at play manipulating the pawns to make moves. Shura wanted to know who at Rune Knight HQ was pulling the strings to this puppet show. Hopefully these knights were smart enough to take a free meal.

Dante

Suddenly, the ground began to tremble causing a minor earthquake which could be felt by everyone. If their attention was still placed at the half-demon, the appearance of another participant would get noticed. It was a tall man, a bit taller than 2 meters, with golden-blonde hair, fair skin, and sharp, reddish-brown eyes. He was wearing a dark red hood from which two heart-like shapes hanged from, a pair of white beige jeans, and a long dark purple feather mantle with a white shirt with hearts printed all over it. His entire demeanor came across as aloof, yet it was immediately clear that he was someone not to take lightly. As he stood between the enormous woman and the Phantom Lord mage, he clicked his tongue making a sound of disapproval. No fear of getting hit could be witnessed in his eyes. A pair of eyes quite similar to one many had seen before.

While it seemed as if Dante entered with immense speed, it was actually because he used a time-affecting spell, change the way its targets perceived time, and thus making it appear for them as if he moved around at unholy speed. Dante didn't like being overshadowed by the behemoth of a woman while saying anything, thus he decided to change that. With an aim of his hand upon her body, the woman would revert back to a former version of herself, a smaller form hopefully. As she shifted back, Dante looked at the two mages standing next to her. They seemed like decent people who were sent here with an order, an order they didn't even understand themselves most likely. Dante cancelled the time-affecting spell and kept standing between the girl in front of him and the boy behind him. Again, he made a clicking sound with his tongue in disapproval but he averted his gaze to the orb in the sky.

"Tch, tch. In case you were expecting someone else here, I must disappoint you. Cesare is truly dead, but I hope my presence here is entertaining enough for you. Now that you have done your best to get a reaction out of Phantom Lord, I'll amuse you even further by stating that I will remain in Fiore for a while to ensure that this guild will grow again under my protection. Tell your fellow members in the Council that I have returned. Dante, the younger sibling of Lance and Cesare. I'm quite sure you know me. Quite an interesting file you have kept on me, it must be worrisome to not have that much information about me. I'm still honored that you have put my level of danger beyond that of my bigger brother Cesare. Fear not, I'll send your lapdogs home in one piece. Just know, the next time you come here, I will be waiting for you."

Due to some spell, Dante's voice could be heard be everyone near the Phantom Lord guild hall. Dante then aimed his right hand at the orb and clenched his palm into a fist causing the orb to disintegrate while causing damage to its caster at the same time. When he finished, he looked at the three in front of him and gave a quick nod to sign them that they should get out for he would keep his word. He was not interested in making victims out of dogs whom were sent to their death to find out whether Cesare was still alive or not. Dante then casually turned around and patted the half-demon on his head briefly before he continued walking towards the guild. "I'm happy my brother managed to have a band of misfits as mad as you guys to fight till the end. I'm here now, the new Phantom Lord." With those words he departed and disappeared inside the guild.

The rush of adrenaline that coursed through her veins upon the sensation felt by the lingering excitement and suspense was enough to keep her mind on the edge of things. She assumed she would be ready for whatever comes her way but that wasn't the case. If only she had known that fate's cruelty would bring about an unwelcoming presence. However, that was far from her worries as her mind in the beginning of this short fight was solely focused on the masked man as curiosity that dwelled within her did indeed want to rip it off, catching a glimpse of his face but this farce of a war set by the magic council brought her to the limits of her tolerance. Perhaps the reason she felt such annoyance when looking upon the man's arrogance was due to the reason that he reminded her of the people she, and he too probably, hated the most; the council member. A scoff escaped her lips as the wind flew past her long hair. Everything around was passed by in a blur as she could only see the moving figure before her. Of course she hadn't expected him to simply stand there as her finger launched the attacked but as he neared, she quickly slipped her left hand over to her right, lightly tapping over it so it could roughly pass off as a clap only for it to be surrounded by flickering sparks of blue lightning.

She could roughly figure out the concise and probable nature of his attack as his actions were too large to ignore and given this position, it would come as no surprise that he planned to launch a big swing her way and although she knew exactly what to do, the feeling of unease that settled within her stomach caused her nerves to switch. The blonde knight always preferred to follow her instincts and at that moment, her instincts told her to retreat. It wasn't because of the masked man who served as her opponent, no, there was something else bothering her but she didn't know what it was. As her heart felt heavy, instead of going along with her original plan which was to thrash the man before her and show him his place, she decided it was perhaps better to retreat, for now of course. Pushing her left palm forward as the cloaked man stopped, a burst of blue lightning immediately fired, changing the momentum of her movement without stopping it and causing her body which was moving forward to be pushed back by the force exerted by her hand until she was approximately ten meters behind the position she originally launched the spell and about twelve meters away from the man, ready to move further back if he were to launch forward.

It was then that the unsettling dilemma that caused her to overestimate her opponent's abilities was cleared by the cloudiness of confusion. Lilac eyes watched the giant sword swing before her just when her ears heard the sounds of an unfamiliar voice that echoed through the vicinity. It didn't belong to the titan that stood on their side, it wasn't the voice of a comrade. The words spoken itself gave her the chills when she heard his monologue that she couldn't get herself to care about but the names mentioned, did ring a bell within her head. After all, what she heard wasn't precisely wrong. The council did enjoy playing with everyone for their own entertainment and if she could stand in their way, she'd be pretty happy. Although she did have her pride as a knight, it wasn't greater than her urge to irk the council. An amused smile settled on her face at the mere thought of the expressions that would be held by her superiors. Perhaps retreating had more advantage than just one. Sighing, she raised her free hand and scratched the back of her neck, "This is just too troublesome."

A shining light that embraced her once she brought forth the power of Raijin once again reappeared, only to rid her body of the god-like aura and return the darker blonde hair to it's original shade and her dark eyes to the sea of lilac that it was before. "Well, I guess we'll be ending it here. It's a shame though, I was looking forward to fighting you." She said, looking at the man as her feet stepped back. She did intend on retreating but at the same time, she didn't particularly trust the man to leave her just like that. Looking at him one last time, she said, "I hope we get to fight at some point or maybe even meet under better circumstances." Glancing over to Asura before looking down at Rei, she looked at the two with a monotonous gaze. "Let's head back and see how much we can disappoint the council." With that she turned on her heel, lazily dragging along her scythe as the black boots she wore collided against the dirty ground while she climbed down the incline. Now that she were to think about it, she ready didn't look like she had come to fight with her rather casual attire of blue jeans, a loose black sleeveless shirt and a pair of boots. Her hair was messily thrown into a bun as strands hung around her face, framing it.

She was putting an end to this fight from her side, or rather, was listening to the man and retreating for reasons that held more significance than the fact that she couldn't be bothered. The blonde hoped that the others too did as such as she walked back but no matter how much she fell out of the battle mood, she still held up her guard, keeping a tight grip on her scythe, listening to the sounds of his steps if there were any. If the man were to attack, she would be ready to move out of the way to dodge or to swivel on the heel of her foot and attack with her weapon. If however, he did nothing, she would simply walk away without turning back.

"How unexpected..."

The small earthquake had Fia's Titanic form only slightly off balance, but it got her attention nonetheless. Though the half-demon remained her top priority, she couldn't deny this sudden arrival threw her for a loop, having her hesitate briefly and preventing any follow-ups to capitalize on whatever state the demon might be in. Any damage she herself might've suffered was overlooked by the Phantom's arrival, and was soon rendered void by a peculiar spell...

Before she could even register where the hell this guy might have come from, Fia suddenly found herself looking at the battlefield from a much different angle. Jaw agape and eyes wide, Fia looked over her bare regular-sized form. There was no vapor present, as she normally released when shrinking back down, so it wasn't though her magic had been canceled... It was like it had never been used in the first place.

"The fuck is this?" Fia growled, glaring at Dante with fury and frustration. So the Phantoms were keeping this asshole on standby, were they? Vapor began to rise off her again, more than willing to take on one more Phantom, if it meant she got what she came for.

"Fia. Wait." Salem interrupted firmly, the black cat stepping back toward Fia as he kept his eyes on Dante and Shura. The half-demon had already shown to be somewhat interesting, but this arrival was more than just interesting.

He was concerning.

After a brief, confused glance, Fia noticed Salem's serious expression and heeded his command for now, though still seethed with anger. She'd never admit it, but she knew the cat was far, far wiser than her. She humored him for now, if only so she got a better opportunity to strike.

Dante spoke up, his tone immediately pissing Fia off. He wasn't talking to them, however, at least not initially. His attention was turned at some orb in the sky. When the fuck had that gotten there, Fia wondered. She was barely following what he was saying, something about Cesare being dead and him taking over control of the guild. He claimed to be some big shot, taunted the Magic Council, but Fia didn't care. She was here to do her job and cut ties. To hell with anyone else's bigger motivations.

"Fia, if you move, I swear, I will launch you back to town myself." Salem, noticing his companions seething anger, ordered back in return. Fia was growing impatient with the damned cat, and was only going to trust him for so much longer.

Dante launched some spell to destroy the watchful orb, before turning back toward the guild. That was it? He was just going to walk in, presume they'd leave him be, then the Phantoms were just gonna let him take over? The guild would remain, and with it, Fia would lose her chance to gain sway, and to sever the loose ends.

"We're leaving."

"Like hell we are..." The Barone woman retorted lowly. She was naked now, but clearly, uncaring with how angry she remained.

"We can't win anymore, Fiammetta. We were never supposed to."

"Fuck off... We can't leave it 'ere... Baldo's still-"

"The Phantom Lord he knew is gone. There's nothing left for us here but a gaudy hall, a few mooks, and a very dangerous man."

"So what? We jus' turn around? We come all this way, an' we jus' walk right back?"

"Be glad you get the chance. Do you really not get it?"

Fia just gave a confused glare to Salem, as the cat wandered past her and away from the guild hall.

"I'd wager the Council never expected any of you to survive. Who knows, maybe they hoped for the death of a Titan. It would certainly remove a dangerous variable."

The Barone woman was breathing harshly, understanding Salem's words but certainly not calmed by them. She'd come in charging here, only to realize she was too weak from the start. But Magic Council be damned, she couldn't walk away empty handed.

"Walk away, Fiammetta. For her sake."

Those were the words that finally got through to Fia. Her fists unclenched as she sighed heavily into the air. No, she couldn't do this. She didn't have a reason, and even if she still had something to gain... She had so much more to lose. Her fiance was already hurt by her coming here on this dangerous job... And if she fell...

"...Fuck it all..." Fia groaned as she stood up straight, stance relaxing as she gave the Phantoms one last glare, muttering under her breath as she turned her back on them. "Enjoy yer new pimp, assholes..."

Her steps were heavy as she paced away, her bare body tense as she marched. She seemed uncaring of her unclothed state for the time, or at least, too angry to be embarassed by it. She wouldn't deny and assistance she was given in covering up, however. She'd pace as steam seemed to rise off of her, that revelation striking her to her core as she departed from the farce of a battle, Salem silently following close behind.

Once again, she'd been nothing but a pawn in someone else's plan. She wasn't planning to take it lying down this time.

Requiem
Requiem had pulled even with the fighting when the stranger appeared. The fact that he had simply appeared made rhe hair on the back of her neck rise as she reflexively unsheathed her claws and readied a handsign.

His little speech caused her to breathe a sigh of relief despite herself. She looked at the distance and guessed that she was just barely within range of any spells the Phantom Lord member that Fia and company were fighting. Jaeger chittered quietly on her shoulder before pointing back to town. Requiem glared at this inhuman opponent.

Every fiber of her being told her to run.
She had to prove herself.
If she died, it ended here
She could prove she had the power to become a holy knight.
She had no means of attacking them effectively
She was so close
Her allies would be furious...or maybe disappointed if she provoked a continuation of the fight...a fight she couldn't hope to win.....

She walked away and sheathed her claws, rejoining the group of Rune Knights that she had been a part of for this mission. Requiem clenched her fists with her nails cutting her hand. She was furious with what was in her mind a defeat, "I swear. I'll be back and wipe this heretic guild out of existence."

She glanced at the person with the cat who also seemed upset at this.
...
...
Where are her clothes?

#38Asura Nightshade

A Phantom's Last Apparition - Page 2 Empty Thu Apr 26, 2018 5:57 am

Asura Nightshade
The battle had only just begun and as soon as it had commenced, it seemed to have ended. The blonde merely stood at the back, her sword clutched within the confines of her hands as she kept it steady for any form of outside force to intervene in this battle. From her position, she had watched with sapphire hues as Xandra and her companion, Rei had rushed off towards the masked entity that lay ahead of them. As per the plan previously discussed, it would be the other blonde who would engage in combat with the Phantom Lord mage with the Umbreon assisting her in whatever way possible. Meanwhile, Asura was to stand at the back, ready and heeding to any form of warning of any outside interruption or any sign of the duo being being pushed back. In a way, the irking feeling of uselessness engulfed her as she watched the scene ahead. A question arose in her mind of why she was even here; she was far too powerless to be deserving of being in such a battlefield, facing against foes that could crush her into dirt. The lace of wonder swirled in the expanses of her mind of why the Council had chosen for her to depart with her fellow Knights on this escapade. The best conclusion she had arose to was that she was sent due to the Umbreon. It was odd how the Umbreon was assigned to her merely a few days before they had departed for Oak; she assumed the Council was keeping and readying him for the upcoming battle. The blonde wouldn't be half surprised if the reason she became a Seated was to keep the Umbreon.

Regardless, the twinges of uncertainty were ever evident in her heart and she knew one thing as she stared at the ground underneath her feet: that once this was over, she'd begin fulfilling her own goals, of becoming stronger, regardless of what that could mean. If she wanted to change the system from within, if she wanted to go against the foul plays and deceitful lies of the Council, she had to get stronger. But for the time being, she had to focus.

The Umbreon followed alongside the other blonde woman, a little restless as his eyes glowed crimson and the gold linings on his fur gleamed underneath the expanse of the sun. Whilst he had never met this woman before, Asura's instruction to follow along with Xandra and aid in whatever way possible was enough for Rei to give it his absolute all because, his partner did indeed mean a lot to him. After spending so long being trapped within the Council, the Umbreon's freedom was granted to him. And his fear of whom his master may be was nullified the moment he met the soft hearted yet, strict blonde. And, if she wanted this victory, he would give it to her.

When they had started rushing towards the masked man, Rei had not expected for the man to move as well. With his hand on the sword behind his back, it was obvious what his intents were. However, Xandra refused to slow down and hence, neither did the Umbreon. However, when they were close enough, it wasn't hard to assume what his future actions may be and it was clear that his target was Xandra and that the animal was a mere small obstacle in the way. The distance between them was far too close and the Umbreon thought about putting up a shield to protect the blonde however, it would have been too late. Luckily, she reacted and within less than a second, she had used form of spell to propel herself backwards, about a meter in front of Asura. Rei, taking it as a sign, immediately halted his steps and ran back towards the duo sticking close to Asura just as the booming voice of a man engulfed the area.

Asura needless, to say, was slightly shocked at Xandra's sudden retreat however, the voice that echoed afterwards, seemingly, from the front of the guild, answered many questions. The names were familiar with the Knight having read a few files within the Rune Knight headquarters, specifically about Cesare and as the unknown voice spoke, the intentions behind their attack seemed to become clear. So, the Council had sent them on a goose chase. They sent them to kill Cesare but were unaware that he was already dead and now replaced by...Dante? Asura would have to read up on him. Regardless, it seemed as though this was a suicide mission indeed, with the Knights being mere pawns for the Council. Honestly, it didn't come as a surprise.

The blonde sighed and her sapphire orbs glided over to Xandra as she listened to her comments about ending the fight. When she motioned to head back to the Council, Asura nodded and was about to follow the other blonde however, halted for a second, turning behind to stare at the masked man. She wondered whether to say this or not but in the end, decided it would be for the best. "I'm aware you think we're idiots following the council." She started, "And maybe we are. However, we're all doing something in our way to make sure that whatever's happening behind the curtains doesn't continue on for much longer. Believe me when I say we'll change the system from inside." With that, she would put her sword back into its cover on her waist and motion for Rei to follow her as she marched behind Xandra, climbing down the incline. Like the other blonde, she was ready too; if the masked man refused to retreat, they would fight. Until then, they would merely walk away.

#39Akira Shimada

A Phantom's Last Apparition - Page 2 Empty Sun Apr 29, 2018 11:20 pm

Akira Shimada
After holstering her gun and letting the soft rise of dust settle, she squinted towards the demon who had taken the brunt of her attacks. Perhaps, she should have spent a little more time playing around with her light orb to better understand the dimensions of its explosion, since she'd managed to nick the giantess as well... No doubt, she wouldn't hear the end of this from the healer. She was about to let the other two deal with the injured form of her victim, and continue on towards the guild to finish their task swiftly. Perhaps if she was quick enough she could race to Asura and Xandra and help them out maybe? Unfortunately... and this was really becoming a pattern in this encounter, things did not go as Aki planned.

A tremor. Standing on an incline, the sudden shake almost knocked Aki off her balance, thankfully, the climb had been a shallow one, so she could maintain her footing. Then, in zipped the man. So fast... Aki's heart raced, almost in congruence. Her scrutinizing eyes rested on him, she'd just about begun feeling some pride at having played a part in the attack, and now, things were at a standstill again. The man who had just appeared dressed funny. That probably shouldn't have been the thought that occupied the sixteen-year-old mage's mind, but the shock from his sudden appearance had numbed her keen brain a little bit. Are those hearts on his shirt? she thought, squinting to try and get a better view.

Then he aimed at Fia. Aki almost screamed mostly in desperation but bit her tongue just in time, any sudden sounds and movement would probably only serve to make things worse. But her heart skipped a beat when the man completed his gesture, were they going to lose their teammate? Instead, the victim just shrunk to her smaller size, her former normal self. Aki froze. They'd just lost the upper hand they had, but at least they were all still unscathed. This fight, if it was to continue was going to become rather one-sided. All she could do was try and think of ways to disengage, suddenly she was cursing herself for just trying to do her job. Had she not injured the demon, maybe this man would've never shown up? His arrival could mean more reinforcements from the side of Phantom Lord. She didn't dare turn to check if the Rune Knights had sent any back-up, she already knew the answer within though.

Maybe we shouldn't have come here after all. She thought, they'd have probably lost their ranks within the Knights for disobeying the order, but was that rank worth their life? Aki had never been authoritative, but she was in agreement with the talking cat. 'Stand down.' she said through grit teeth. Unsure of whether her words reached the ears of her teammates or not, they were particularly for Tsuru, he may not do anything stupid, but he was likely to say something righteous... And now was really not the time. There was a certain drawl with which he spoke. It made Aki shudder, goosebumps erupted on her skin, much like the way the hair stand on animals when they feel cornered. He was just so... fast. She gulped, as she got past analyzing the tone and begun to fathoming the words, which were the ones that decided their fate.

She cast her gaze onto the alleged eye in the sky, just a jiffy before it was destroyed. Her eyes widened... Then narrowed again, in suspicion. The spying orb, was something they'd missed, it irked Aki, but she couldn't fault anyone. She herself had been too busy aiming at the demon in front of them, to look upwards. She hadn't still decided how much she could trust this man, maybe this was all an elaborate show, just to send them away, now that he'd seen what the Knights were capable of doing and withstanding... Aki's mind was running in various directions, far more frazzled than its usual focused state. He had proven himself to be powerful, yet he'd sent his message directly to the council members and had chosen to spare the Knights sent here to do their bidding. It could just be a trick. But Aki didn't possess the ammunition to test that theory. Plus, the talking pet seemed to be rather convinced that this man was trouble, so much so that he managed to curb Fia's aggressive instincts and prompt her to accept the offer and take her leave. It was unlikely that the man heard the words the titan issued, but Aki did... The Barone was not pleased. The titan had just made her self the test. The man in the strange robe made no motion to stop her or hurt her in any manner. It appeared as though he was sticking to his word.

If Aki ever confirmed the truth in the man's words, it'd leave her seething. Just the mere possibility already had the girl fuming. So the council just sent a bunch of us here as bait?! her thoughts screamed in her mind. But her body remained rigid. Aki's eyes snapped towards her partner... it was time. It seemed they truly had gotten lucky and were spared, there would be time later to analyze the reasons. She curtly nodded back at Dante, just to signify that the truce had been accepted and the threat for any future encounters had been noted. Between the two that were left, Aki took the lead in backing away, hoping her partner would follow. The Shimada didn't turn her back to the scene, she slowly walked backward, till the robed man turned away, then Aki did too... she maintained a measured pace for a little bit longer, walking at an angle so she could meet with the healer. Once together, she broke into a run, bolting towards the main town. The girl couldn't truly feel safe, till she had put a tonne of distance between her and the guild. Basically, she ran till she couldn't anymore... Till her lungs gave out and her legs screamed in pain. Finally, she stopped and caught her breath. The lunar mage she felt the need to find a way to reach out to Xandra and Asura, hoping that they too had taken the cue and taken their out.

A Phantom's Last Apparition - Page 2 Empty Tue May 01, 2018 8:16 am

Hatsuharu
Here he was, thinking he was fast enough to protect his comrades. But all he could do was stand there and watch while everything happened right in front of him. The titan mage had charged forward, believing that he would protect her. Instead, she was bombarded with attacks from her enemy and ally alike, and Haru could do nothing to stop either. The healer felt something alien within him; something very similar to what he felt when he chopped off that cultist’s hand when he attempted to sacrifice Asura. It was anger; only, this time, it was directed towards himself.

But that didn’t last long, as it was quickly replaced with shock and terror.

The ground shook and a really tall man appeared between Fia and the half-demon, out of nowhere. Haru couldn’t understand where he came from. One moment, there was nothing; and the next, there he was. Unfazed. Unafraid. The click of his tongue sent shivers down his spine, freezing him momentarily.

The fight against the half-demon was bad enough. Now, this guy, seemed to be leagues ahead. Even Haru could see they stood no chance against him, especially after how easily he reverted Fia’s magic. And the black cat seemed to agree.

There were several things that would have thrown the naïve healer off guard; from the tall man’s dressing style to the speaking cat. But what took the trophy was the small orb the man looked at when he spoke. Haru followed his gaze and looked up towards the sky to find it. What was he talking about? Who was expecting who? Nothing made sense… Until he uttered the word ‘council’. And then, it all fell into place. It would seem the original goal of the mission was not to take down the Phantom Lord guild, but to lure out the late guildmaster who they suspected was still alive. In trying to do that, they had summoned someone far more powerful than the one they expected to face.

The shock and terror transformed back to anger. This time, directed towards the council.

Honestly, he wasn’t mad that he was being used as bait. He always knew that was part of the job description. The Rune Knights are supposed to draw out potential dangers towards them so that the innocents don’t get involved. But, what he was truly mad about was the fact that he was not informed that he was being used as bait. Did they think he would disobey the orders if he was told of the risks involved? Then, they thought wrong and this was a conversation he needed to have with his superiors. And to have any conversation, he needed to be alive, which he knew he wouldn’t if he didn’t stand down.

As much as it killed him to know that their reckless attack on the guild had only bolstered its power, there was no point throwing his life away over it. So, he heeded the cat’s and his partner’s words.

With one swift motion, the man destroyed the hovering orb after he was done talking. Haru stood there, watching him walk back towards the guild, while Fia and Aki retreated. The council had gotten the answer to their question. There was no point pressing this attack anymore. With a heavy sigh, Haru followed his comrades. He caught up with Fia and covered her with his black cloak. It was obvious that the Titan mage was fuming with anger, and he didn’t blame her. There was definitely going to be some friction back at the headquarters after this mishap. Haru only hoped it wouldn’t put the Rune Knights in a vulnerable position. If this man wanted to show his dominance over the council, it was highly likely they will end up crossing paths again. And next time… he may not be as forgiving.

A Phantom's Last Apparition - Page 2 Empty Sat May 05, 2018 1:42 pm

Shura Ranzu †
Shura felt the impact of the attacks causing him to flinch before he could give any kind of speech. His eyes gave off an ominous blue glow. One that reflected one emotion, rage. The initial bullet knocked off his armor, and the explosion caused shards to rip through the right side of his body. He tensed up at the last moment but the pain burned. Shura fell down to a knee from being in pain. It burned more than usual, he wasn't sure of what kind of magic but this wasn't natural. He had felt pain from spells, this was different. Maybe her magic had a strong affinity against him but regardless things changed. Before he could even try to fight back, a individual popped into existence suddenly. It caught everyone off guard, a tall man draped in a purple feathered mantle was before everyone. Shura slowly stood back to his feet to watch what happened next. With a touch he removed the titan from the picture. Not kill but reverted her to her normal state. This was something Shura had never seen before. 'With just a touch he nullified her ability?' he thought to himself. Of course there was more to the magic but he was unaware of the extent of this man's ability. Nor where his allegiances stood. If he was a foe, this situation went from bad to shit just like that.

Shura was at a loss for words, all he could do was watch. So much had happened in an instant he was trying to process everything. The man spoke and they all listened. Hopefully, everyone knew not to anger this man. Shura got an unsettling feeling just from being next to him. This is what true strength looked like, Shura did not admire this person. If anything he was envious of the magical ability he possessed. Shura wasn't too surprised to hear the original guild master truly was dead. But Shura was wondering who this man was talking to. Someone else was watching all of this, no doubt the puppet master who pulled the strings of the Rune Knights. 'The Council,' Shura questioned in his mind. He knew that the council existed but that was all. Shura listened to every word this man spoke. He was not a foe from the sounds of it. He was a Phantom Lord member, if only he got here earlier this fight would have never needed to happen.

Better late than never right? The man reached up and did something to crush the orb hovering overhead after he was done talking. That only solidified the fact that someone was watching all of this. That rustled Shura a bit knowing that this was just entertainment for others. But now his true nature had come to light, his presence was now known to the world. That could prove problematic in the long run. After speaking the man nodded at the knights as their queue to exit the scene. He walked past Shura shortly a pat on the shoulder is what was given after all of this. Shura wasn't going to question it nor rock the boat in this situation. The knights weren't the ones to worry about, it was this newcomer.

“Brother?”  Shura turned around with his spell arm holding his right side. Still in pain he tried to push it down to the furthest reaches of his mind. Fate saw fit to spare him once again. All he could do was chuckle at the idea of brushing with death again and getting away. He turned back to the knights as they began to depart one after another. Shura had committed all of their faces to memory because he had a feeling they would cross paths again. He also committed the titan's naked body to memory also. How can one not do so. Choice words were shared as they exited, “Enjoy being puppets.” Clearly this was far from over, but for the moment it was best to just walk away. He turned to follow Dante back up the hill into the guild. In this case from being in pain he hobbled back.
