Pyre
Pyre roller quietly in his sleep, his dreams were nothing short of terrifying. He was wondering the halls of the old Aurelle mansion, all the candles had been blown out and someone must have left the doorbell open because wind was whistling down the hall. Every stepped caused all the floorboards around him to screech in protest. In his dream, he opened up a singular door, one labeled nursery. He froze for a moment. The scene changed and the room was lit up with sunlight. His mother sat cradling him in a rocking chair, while just his great grandmother Quora sat on the bed and smiled. There was a man on the other side of the room that looked a lot like Pyre. Walking over, Pyre investigated the dream man. By now, Pyre had gained a consciousness of sorts and was starting to realize that this was a dream. And to his protest, the dream began to fade away and Pyre opened his eyes, blinking in the dark.

Pyre sat up and stretched, twisting his arms to wake himself up. He clambered out of bed and lit the candle so light would flood the room. It was early, four maybe five in the morning. Very awake by now Pyre decided it was time for exercise. Pyre pulled out a pair of thin pants and a light sweater to wear as he jogged, it was chilly out, but he would be moving so that would keep him warm. He stepped out of his room and locked it behind him.
Once outside he broke into a run. He started off slowly, only running as fast as a typical jogger. When he chose to speed up, he watched as life moved by more quickly. Running after as a shield, no one would stop and talk to you, you could mind your own business and everyone would look at you and turn back to their normal life as if you had never even existed. That’s why Pyre enjoyed it so much, he could be invisible.
Pyre stopped in front of south gate park and took a break, he looked at the horizon and only saw the tip of the sun rising over the edge. Pyre let out a deep breath and walked into the park, a short stroll wouldn’t hurt anyone.
South Gate Park was by far one of the prettiest places in magnolia. The trees, the flowers, it was like the forest but in a well kept place.
Farther down the path, Pyre noticed a man in the military uniform, as r got closer he recognized the man as guard captain Devon, the head of the military here in magnolia. He spent most of his time keeping Fairy Tail in check.

Pyre walked over and said good morning. Devon have a quiet nod back and asked Pyre if he’d be willing to help him. Pyre received a quest to help Devon recruit new members for a small guard in case anything dangerous happened here in magnolia

Pyre
Some people disliked the guard. They found them dirty, distasteful, and some people found their actions dangerous. Pyre did not find them distasteful or dangerous at all. Yes, he was a military man himself, but he Was able to put himself in the shoes of a citizen. He had been a normal citizen for most of his life.

The sun wasn’t all the way up yet so Pyre would have to wait in the park awhile longer before he could start asking people if they wanted to be recruited into the guard. He wouldn’t have put his own name on it, but he didn’t have plans to stay here for much longer.

The early morning sky was a beautiful gradient of red to dark blue. Pyre found this natural art to be very calming, he saw it as an untouched natural beauty. The sun crept up the sky, it’s orange body growing in width as it became more visible. Pyre fell backwards onto a bench and rested his Elbows on his knees, staring down at some flowers. There was a small pink one, that might have been a violet if it were violet. It’s petals were pink with a cream circle that surrounded the inside. Pyre was surprised it had bloomed when it was winter. He reached down and touched it, running his hands across the silky steam and leathery petals. He stared at it for a while longer before standing back up. His watch read the time as six o’clock in the morning, which meant people would be showing up soon. Pyre stretches and pulled out his own and paper, he was ready to get back to work on something and not be sitting out here all day.

The First Lady who walked in had chestnut hair and a slim figure. She walked authoritively and reminded Pyre slightly of husband great grandmother. Pyre grabbed his clipboard and wondere over to the young woman. “Excuse me mam?” He asked. The lady turned her head and smiled daintily, “how can I help you?” She asked. Pyre showed her the clipboard and began his monologue to try and get her to join the recruits. “After the incident in era, the guard hadn’t been looking for new recruits to train and help defend magnolia in case anything like that happens here, would you be willing to sign up and protect magnolia?” Pyre asked. The key thought for a single moment then agreed with pyre and signed her name on the king and left her address on the one below It. Pyre smiled. One down, a lot more to go.

Pyre felt like he was off to a good start, he had one name and he didn’t expect a lot of people to disagree with wanting to protect magnolia. So he assumed that this job was going to be very easy. Pyre would start his walk around the park lookin looking for people who willing to I give him a moment of their time.

Pyre
The park was full of willing people. Pyre was worried that there was going to be far less people then pyre had so far recruited.

There was a Burly woman with a thick brown beard by the name of Alendri who had sought out Pyre. He had from other people that their were recruiters wondering around magnolia. Alendri had been a wizard in Lamia Scale but left after the attack from Grimoire heart, now he wanted to pledge himself to helping the government, he apparently felt a certain kinship to his country and he wanted to show it badly. He asked pyre a lot of questions, like “How fast can I climb the ranks?” And, “is there anyway I can help recruit?” Pyre enjoyed his enthusiasm and told him where he could find guard captain Devon.

After Alendri there was Vanessa, a ex-con who used to hunt down good wizards, but after her boss killed her father she sold him out to the government and moved far away. She had felt bad for all the cruelty she had done and so she had decided that she too wished to help people and protect magnolia. She was not as excited as Alendri, but she had just as many question. Mainly because she was nervous. They ranged in variety, but mainly things like, “do you think captain Devon will judge me?” Or “my criminal last shouldn’t affect me much, should it?” Vanessa was very nervous. Pyre felt bad for her so he spent a little bit and talked her down. Afterwards she said she would gladly return.

The next person was the only person who turned him down. The man was named Gerald. Gerald has worked for a business as an accountant, but then left a few years ago to become a wizard. When Pyre approached him the man was still on the journey and said that he was still working on his journey and did not wish to give up just yet. Pyre was very glad that the man had be courteous and not cruel. There had been one cruel man, he never gave Pyre his name and had tipsy him off quite rudely. Calling his government work an invasion of privacy and that the Knights were just trying to spy on everyone. Pyre said sorry and then tried to leave but the man followed him for a little while longer until Pyre stayed that he wasn’t part of the army and would be glad to do the army a favor and kick the man. The man left afterwards quite quickly.

The last person ended up talking to was a woman named Clarisse. Clarisse had been a rune knight, but then left to get married to man. But the man was a jack ass and left her. So she decided she decided it was time she rejoin the army and she eagerly signed her name on the line and then said she’d be back Pyre was very happy with his work.

Pyre
Pyre yawned loudly. He had had a good day of work. He had gotten close to 200 names, he hoped Captain devon would be happy with husband work. Pyre was slightly worried that it was not enough, but his better sense knew that he had enough names. He was a smart man and there were many men and women who were glad to sign up, so even if he was the least, it likely was not that bad. He read over the list of names one more time. He recognized the many names and the conversations he had had with the many people. There had been Janelle, a young woman who had decided that this is what she wanted to do with her life.
Maurice has been a teacher who had also been scared after the event in era. He was mostly scared for his students as he was a teacher, so he had decided to join the local guard part time to help it and be there in case there was ever a mysteriously bad event that could occur in magnolia at any moment.

Pyre read over the list in full. He remembered some names from the various jobs he had done around magnolia, but most were common citizens.the sun had finally set in the sky. Pyre had seen the sun rise and now he had seen the sun set as well.

He knew he would be waiting in the park for awhile, Guard Captain Devon has said that he would have to pick up charts from other men and women around the city. Pyre liked the lights, they shown brightly in the night, he liked the little bit of twin twinkling that they caused.

Pyre stretched in his bench and stared up at the night sky. The blackness with the little bits of starlight were comforting to Pyre, it remindied him of the nights he would spend in inns with his mother after they had both been working throughout the long day.

Finally someone called his name and pyre looked Up to see guard captain devon walking towards him. The man held multiple papers in his hand. He sat down and leaned his head back as well, “so, how many names did you get?” He asked. “Two hundred.” Pyre said quietly. He was now very tired and wanted tk go home. Captain Devon smiled, “that’s great, most of my other men had trouble getting people to sign up in other parts of the city. Anyway, here is your money.” Captain Devon said, handing Pyre a bag of cash. Pyre smiled, “thank you, you always know I am glad to Help you at any time.” Pyre said. Captain Devon nodded and left. Pyre got up and followed suit.

He had had a long day and was ready to curl up in a a bed. He had enjoyed his day quite a lot and he felt very good about himself. He was very happy to be close to getting back in his bed and sleep past the sun rising tomorrow.
