PouchDespite the thought of imminent threat haunting him, walking for almost two days straight had made him extremely tired and Haru slept like a log once he boarded the train to Orchidia. It wasn’t until the train crossed Era and the capital was on the horizon did he wake, and that too only because of a couple of noisy kids had boarded the cabin he was in. He was slightly annoyed at first, but looking at the innocent young faces made him smile quickly enough. Haru was reminded why he was inclined to choose the path of a Knight even when he had no memories. It was to protect such innocence from the wicked. And it doesn’t get any more wicked than a bunch of Demons ripping apart the fabric of their realm and invading. For the rest of the journey, the Lieutenant conversed and played with the two kids, telling them stories and jokes. Finally, when the train stopped at Orchidia, he bid farewell to the family, picked up his luggage and got off the train. There were several citizens waiting to board the train, but not many got off at Orchidia. The reason was obvious; people were fleeing the town out of fear, and only those who are courageous and capable enough to stop the terror had come there. The latter was clearly of smaller proportion compared to the former.
