Snowflake Beyond The Sun & Stars The sound of heels clacking against the hard floor filled the halls of the Horizon Apartments. Her eyes darted around her, observing her surroundings in an instinctive manner; a habit of hers to do whenever she’s out and about. People would gaze at her as she passed, and whether it was her stone cold appearance or her uncanny glare; it did not matter to her at all. Noticing the glances that were being thrown at her, the woman tugged her white velvet cloak further to conceal her noticeable features. She didn’t like the attention—she hated it. As a previous guild master of Blue Pegasus and a highly reputational member of the guild, she didn’t want to attract any more attention that she already had. The reason for her appearance at the location was because she was searching for a new abode to live in during her stay in Orchidia. For some reason, she had a feeling that she might actually stay longer in this peaceful little town that she had originally planned. It was then she noticed an old, fragile woman pacing back and forth outside what she would assume her apartment. The worried expression on her wrinkled features caught her attention and Snowflake figured that she might as well make a granny’s day better while she had the chance. The demon slayer slowed down her strides, ceasing her steps right in front of her room. ”Can I help you, granny?” uttered the young female, bending down slightly to meet her eye-level as the granny was shorter than herself. She had a white velvet cloak around her. Yet, the woman was drawing most attention off the passersby. Of course, Faye was attracting attention herself but that was mostly due to Hana who was swinging her wooden head from side to side. She guessed it wasn’t every day that they saw people carrying something like a doll around.
Further down the hallway, Faye came to a rest when she saw Snowflake talking to someone. Peeking over Snow’s shoulder, she noticed an elderly woman looking quite worried about something. “Hello there!” She chirped behind Snowflake; well, Hana did since she was using her as a medium again. “Perhaps there is something in your apartment you need help with?” Hana relayed Faye’s suspicions. The young puppeteer was basing her hunch on the sheer fact that the granny kept stealing glances at the apartment even while talking to them. She looked worried and distressed, so that was another sign.

Snowflake Beyond The Sun & Stars Perhaps, the white haired woman failed to pay attention to her surroundings properly that she missed the fact that she was being followed by a certain someone—for the second time. Snowflake was always on guarded mostly, albeit it seemed that the other person hid their presence well enough for the slayer to be completely oblivious to it. It wasn’t until she noticed the same girl back in Orchidia streets when a voice chirped behind her. Snowflake spun around, only to see the nonchalant face of Faye peeping over her shoulder. ”Huh, you again,” she grumbled, almost in annoyance. What was it that she found so interesting in someone that had the personality of a barren desert? It was a mystery to her. The old woman raised her eyebrows enthusiastically, as if she was glad that these two girls were willing to offer help. “Oh, how fortunate I am to meet these beautiful young ladies. I just needed some help in my new apartment. Would you be willing to give me a hand?” requested the granny. It wasn’t as though she had anything else to do, other than checking new rooms in the location, which she could probably do later so, she simply agreed to assist. Though she barely knew Faye, Snowflake could easily assume that she was going to tag along with her, thus it would have been no surprise if she accepted the request. Upon their agreement, the elder gave them further details about the situation; the task and the address of her new apartment. Word Count: 515 |

She fumbled around the dusty wall, over strips of torn wallpaper and finally got to the light switch which she turned on. Thankfully, it was still working and they finally came face to face with… “Are you sure it was a human that lived here?” Hana finally broke the silence. “This is even worse than what Faye does when she is absorbed in puppet-making”.
Faye agreed. She wasn’t the cleanliest person around when it came to her hobby and puppet-making required a lot of time plus materials which she found thrown around the floor by the time she was done with her work. However, there is no way she could even hold a candle to what this person could do. Whoever it was, definitely took the room for granted and didn’t even bother to clean up before vacating it.

Snowflake Beyond The Sun & Stars Snowflake watched a cockroach scuttle past her feet and the white haired woman did not opt to think twice to kill the disgusting creature with an ice spike formed from the palm of her hand. The spike pierced right through the middle of the cockroach, rendering instant death. ”Great,” she mumbled under her breath in sarcasm, if it wasn’t apparent, after witnessing the horrendous sight of cockroaches over the room and the inexplicable mess. It didn’t appear as if a human had lived in it but rather, looked as if a wild animal had trudged through the apartment. Old clothes were scattered all over the floor and dust filled every corner of the room. Snowflake may not be a clean freak albeit, she was hygienic on her own and the sight before her was undoubtedly appalling to her eyes—to the point that it caused a frown on the expressionless features of her face. The wallpaper was in the midst of being peeled off, but long story short, everything in this apartment was simply atrocious. She picked up a stray cloth laying on the couch that had holes in it, tossing it over to the side with complete disgust. ”Should I have known, I wouldn’t have agreed to do this….” A sigh escaped her lips and since she had promised the granny, it would have been very inconsiderate of her to retreat from her task. The silence that filled the room was pierced by a voice that was not Faye’s, clearly not hers either. ”So, you can speak,” she stared straight at the wooden doll that accompanied her Pegasus guild mate, as if it was a human being. Well, it spoke much to her surprise so it might as well be alive. At her foot, the sculptress would kick at an empty cardboard box, unwilling to complete the task, especially after seeing at the state it was in. Nonetheless, Snowflake was not one to be irresponsible and so, she had no other choice but to bite through her distaste and quickly complete the task at hand. Word Count: 860 |

As she was picking up yet another article of clothing, she heard Snowflake mention about her. Speak? Of course she spoke, but did Snow by any chance thought Hana spoke by herself? Wondering so, she decided to reply in her so very rare and sweet voice. “Hana doesn’t speak by herself. I’m a ventriloquist,” she mentioned, somewhat uncomfortable at hearing her own voice. She was so used to having Hana communicate everything for her that now when she didn’t have the warmth of Hana over her hand, it felt so strange. Faye frowned as she thought so and then started arranging everything to a side. They just had to clean the floor and take out the falling wallpapers. She guessed that the granny will replace it herself later.

Snowflake Beyond The Sun & Stars Snowflake gladly took the gloves that was offered to her, seeing that she desperately needed one upon finding out how horrible of a mess the apartment. While Faye worked on the living room, the snow haired maiden decided to clean the kitchen. It was just as appalling as the rest of the apartment, possibly even worse. Flies lingered over the rotten leftover food on the plates that were discarded on the side of the skin. ”Yuck, and ew,” she spat in disgust. Why did she have to do this? She wasn’t a cleaner, for heaven’s sake. Despite her internal screams that exploded within her, she tossed all the dirty plates into the bin. She wasn’t gonna bother cleaning those, because there simply was no point. Opening the fridge, she could see the leftovers rotting inside. And, to the bin. It seemed as if the majority of her cleaning was simply discarding everything into the trash can, but to be honest, it was what she had to do. Once all the trash was disposed of, Snowflake proceeded onto cleaning the sink and all the remaining dishes that were left inside. The task felt unbearable to her, but what helped through this chore was her idle conversation with the fellow Pegasus mage. It was quick and short, as expected from someone who barely spoke, nonetheless, it didn’t make her feel as if she was alone in this intolerable work. At the very least, she learnt something about the pinkette that day. All the cleaning took them till dusk and once they were done, the granny dropped by once again, thanking the two ladies for their help and rewarded them with some delicious cookies. Throwing the last of the trash into a corner, Faye moved on with the cleaning, working on peeling off the torn wallpapers. Dusting off this and that, she spent a good whole day in that den with Snowflake, finally getting the apartment room back in living conditions. The granny must have been very happy with the works they did too since as soon as she came back, she thanked them a bunch and handed over some rewards and sweet cookies. It seemed to have some special ingredients in it. Afterwards, she convinced herself not to bother the snow mage anymore and left for the inn as well.
