For Whom The Bells Toll [Minor Demonic Incursion]
Mon Jun 03, 2019 4:13 pm
What an oddly beautiful town Astera proved itself to be. Val and his two men had only arrived a day ago and all three of them were very much impressed with the architecture. It only took hours after they left yesterday to get here because they made stops in other towns for grub and ale. After a calm day of exploring the town, they were out and about again to make scope. Now it was evening in Astera. The town looked like a maze and the buildings were a variety of sizes. Not to mention the streets were rather crowded, how was he supposed to maneuver with his horse through all of this and no sunlight? The seven foot viking slowed his pace, allowing his horse to bring him deeper into the town while his men followed. "No sign of any demons so far..." He mumbled to himself. The horses hooves clicked as they touched the ground. The people of the town looked up at the large man on his large steed. I guess it was safe to say that even when he didn't demand attention, he was demanding attention. As the trio moved forward a random flash of Burgundy light sparked in the sky. One moment it lit the town up with a red color, the next it was gone. All the townsfolk stopped in their tracks to look up, even Val gazed at the sky. "What the?" He mumbled. Quickly he turned to look at his men who had still beens taring at the sky. "M'lord?" One of the men began pointing at the sky. The fairy raised an eyebrow and turned to look at the sky again, only to see a large magic circle form in the sky. This circle had to be about 50 meters in diameter. At first it did nothing. A split second later and it began to drop what seemed to be hundreds of monsters while loud screeching and roaring sounds erupted from the circle. "EVERYONE FIND SHELTER AND LOCK THE DOORS!!!" He shouted as he realized just what was happening. All these innocent people would be slaughtered if they didn't protect themselves. The townsfolk listened to Vali's booming voice, though not many people could hear him. "Make sure these people find shelter, see to it that you protect as many of them as possible." He demanded in Icebergan. Just like that the entire town began to panic. People changed direction and began moving away from where they were heading, sprinting and screaming as they realized what was happening. Nobody was ignorant to the fact that demons were trying to takeover earthland most people assumed that they would be protected. "Hyah!" The Viking lord kicked his horse and began charging towards where the center of the giant magic circle had been maneuvering through the people as they ran towards him, many falling over. As the titan neared the center of the town he could see the demons charging toward him but what he spotted later was a little girl about to be drowned by the waves of demons coming from behind her. "Hyah!" He kicked again, quickening the pace of his horse as he charged towards the little girl. Just before the demons could trample her, Vali grabbed her by her arm and threw her on the back of his horse then turned to move away from the swarm of demons. Other civilians weren't so lucky. The demons had been slicing, chomping, and brutally murdering any person in their wake. Without another second to waste, Vali jumped down from his horse. The little girl looked towards him confused. "Do you know how to ride this?" She shook her head. "Hold the the rope, and when you want to stop slowly pull the rope back. Make sure you have a tight grip. Do not stop until you see a safe place to hide in, understand!?" When the girl nodded, Vali slapped the arsenal of his steed sending her on her way. Now it was time to face these demons. With a sigh he turned, realizing that he was at the front lines, with a couple of people beside him ready to fight as well. The demons were about 30 meters away but they grew closer quickly. Breaking the silence Vali spoke while drawing his dagger. "We cannot let these demons take us down. Right now we are the wall protecting innocent people. Fight with everything you have!!" He shouted as the wave crashed into the first line of people. |

"They're helping the people?" he muttered to himself moving about the best he could though he would need to get more info before doing anything else. The flower knight decided to help get the people to safety while getting as much information he could get while avoiding the two men that were around as he simply didn't want to deal with them or what ever nonsense they might have with them. From what the people have told him it would seem like it another case similar to Orchidia and the others but that just didn't seem right as the reports said that they were all dealt with and that there wouldn't be anymore. If what he has heard is true then he would need to ready for anything that might show up.
With him slowly moving forwards with checking the homes he heard what sounded like a familiar voice but from what he knew he was the only member of the guild here. As he followed the voice he couldn't help but think of the battle that would lay ahead of them while also holding his excitement to test out his new spells on something. Shin was soon able to get a visual on Val and made his way over to him "Hey there handsome what brings you here?" he asked patting his left shoulder in a playful manner. Could this have been the reason that the master sent him here and not to enjoy a relaxing time by the ocean, so many questions with little answers?

As her feet touched the ground, a sense of trepidation hit her and Requiem reached for her dagger as she looked around. It was the kind of feeling she had gotten when her sister had attacked back in Oak. The same feeling she got when the incursion at Orchidia happened. Requiem heard the screams and felt the hair on the back of her neck prickled and she sprinted towards the town square.
She found herself fighting against hordes of panicked civilians running away from the chaos. With all the people pushing away, Requiem realized she would have to find another way to the heart of the panic. Her new route required her to cut through a couple alleys before she finally made it and saw two men already in action. A demon leapt at her as she reached them. On reflex, she whipped her dagger out and slashed at its throat, "well, this is bad."

Just before the wave of Demons crashed into Vali he felt something touch his shoulder, then a voice followed after. Quickly he glanced over his shoulder seeing shin. "We are at battle and that is what is on your mind!?" He asked annoyed as he turned to face the horde. With a swipe of his right hand he swung his dagger across one of the first demons chest, killing it immediately as the rest of the demons crashed into the folks on the first line. Vali had no time to pay attention to anyone around him, the monsters of hell were raging. He swung his hand in various directions, slicing, stabbing, doing whatever he could to maintain the line. "Stand your ground!!" He shouted towards the fighters. To his left he glanced over at a woman who stood out amongst the rest, fighting better than almost every fighter on the line. Her hair was long and dark and honestly with her fighting Val became less worried. Still though the amount of demons versus the amount of people would make this situation life or death. The young Viking continued to fight but the line was beginning to break. Although the half-elf was strong, he wasn't super adept at using his magic. In fact he still had so much to learn but that didn't mean he didn't have a few spells up his sleeve. Grunting, he shouted. "Hold the line!!" Somebody needed to take charge and for some reason it always seemed to be him. Without another moment to waste he charged forward into the wave of demons trying to bypass the line of fighters. "Close the gap!" He shouted as the fighters quickly did just that. Slicing, spinning, stabbing, kicking, he charged through until he was in the middle of the horde. Maybe if I can slow them down... He began as he lifted his hand int eh center of the wave of demons. Quickly a magic circle formed about 4 meters in front of him above the enemies. The demons began to attack him, scratching him, doing whatever they good to cause harm while he fought as hard as he could with one harm. Suddenly a giant hand fell from the magic circle above and slammed directly onto some demons in front of Val. For a moment that was enough to halt them as the loud booming crash from the giant metallic hand spell called for attention. Soon the demons began turning to face him. This was the perfect time for Shin or whoever else was a mage to use their spells on the enemies.

The monsters made their way to him as though it looked like they just needed a little more greens in their meals, with a simple flick of his left wrist his trusty thorn whip and swiftly slashes the whip in multiple directions around him, though this move didn't kill all of them it would have let a good amount of damage to their bodies mainly their arms and legs. "Man these guys are a lot more ugly than I thought, they're not even in my league right Val?" he said lowering his whip just enough to get a vertical swing with it. He couldn't get their smell out of his nose which was the worst part about it as it lingered about this made Shin think of about making an aroma spell just to cover all this up so he wouldn't have to deal with it during the whole fight though in the back of his mind he was hoping the people were okay and in a safe place far away from here while in the forefront of his mind he was thinking about getting a drink with someone breathtaking.
With the way, everything was going on it felt like he was fighting ants or a hydra, with each head taken down two more spawned. Shin knew that if they didn't hold the line like Vali reminded them all the people living here would meet a grizzly end but they had the best of Fairy Tail to protect them so it was no problem unless this was all some sort of test. As he did his best to try and not to flirt with Vali he couldn't help but notice a rather sweet woman fighting off the monsters "Oh hey there what's your count?" he asked referring to the number of demons that she had taken out already. Within that second of trying to talk to the girl, one of the monsters clawed at his leg knocking him down but with that, he was able to split its head open with his whip. Shin quickly got back to his feet and moved collected himself before going back in the fight now upset that he came close to taking damage from something that was less than human. In retro spec, all the training that he put himself through over the past few months was actually worth it seeing how this gave him the perfect chance to mess around with his latest creations so this was better than anything that he could have asked for. Shin tried to make sure that he was still able to see Vali and the girl as he didn't want to be separated from them and lower their fighting power but the girl seemed to be quiet the fighter given her weapon and the number of enemies that were around. If anything this would prove to be good training in case he ever wanted to have a rematch with Vali at some point later on, though having a small bet between the three of them would be a good way to push them to fight even harder or just Shin.

Requiem turned to see another cluster race towards them, "they're brain dead. Or insane." She threw a spell and two purple shurikens whirled at the demons which detonated. Her element wasn't exactly useful in this situation, but she simply wanted to knock them over and break up the formation allowing her time to get among them again and slash the ones still standing apart, "One of these days, I'll invest in a spell or item that compensates for my element against demons" she said to herself as she jumped back to the men.
Requiem scanned the scene again as she waited for another opportunity to create openings for exploit, "I've gotten twelve, how about you two?" She felt her competitive streak coming out. This battle already started out better than last time.

Needless to say that Vali was a better worker alone, he did realize that at this point this situation couldn't be handled by himself. With all the demons turned towards him he would definitely need help or this could end terribly for the Elven Titan. With blood dripping from the right side of his chest, his left leg, his face and the middle of his back he was still ready to fight. Something odd happened though. Suddenly the demons stopped fighting everyone. The demons facing Shin and the other girl halted and the demons facing Vali halted as well. The Fairy used this time to quickly dart towards the line from which he moved so that he was directly beside the dark haired woman. For this moment they could all gather their breath if they needed to, Vali sure did need to and so he knelt down on one Knee. The woman beside him said that she took a total of 12 down which was rather impressive. When Val finally turned towards he could see a tail and ears protruding from her skull. No wonder she moved so efficiently, she was a Neko. "Around twenty five." He answered after the woman asked about how many they killed. In total there were about fifty left. When the Icebergan turned to see how many fighters were left on the ground he could only count three; Shin, this Neko woman and himself. Fuck the gods... he thought with a sigh. The rest of the fighters were scattered on the floor amongst demons who were now sizzling and vanishing into ash. "Fifty demons, three fighters..." he frowned speaking to his peers. It'd take a miracle for the three of them to survive this. However, the other demons began to do something rather odd. One moment there were frozen in place, the next moment they were running into each other releasing a boisterous screeching noise until finally three demons emerged. "What the fuck? They have combined themselves?" Val couldn't tell if this would make things easier considering now there was only one target, or if things would be harder since their power was probably amplified. Each Demon positioned themselves in front of the fighters that remained. "Looks like we get to have our own demon." He chuckled, still breathing heavily but ready to fight once the demons moved forward. In another moment the demons began unleashing a variety of long ranged attacks. The demon 10 meters in front of Vali raised his hand towards the Bronze Desiertan. Quickly, he leapt to the right dodging the beam that erupted from the demons palm. He turned to see the effect of the beam as it crashed into a home and created a fairy explosion that spread about 16 meters destroying about six other homes in the process and quickly turning this battlefield into a fiery hell it seemed like. "Dammit." He hissed, realizing that many civilians lives had ended in a single moment. The other hiding civilians didn't remain calm. "Get out of here!!" Vali pointed beyond the flaming homes for the people to move through. It was probably the only way they'd be safe. "We can't let these demons kill anym-" Mid-sentence the giant demon who aimed at Vali dashed forward, grabbing his skull and continued moving towards where the homes were destroyed, only to slam him into the ground. "Gagh!" He yelped at the pain. The people continued to pour out of their homes and hurried to leave the area. The sight of the demon paralyzed many of them. There was no time to acknowledge the hurt Val was feeling, the Fairy had tor act fast. With all his strength he snuffed the demon in it's jaw, sending it crashing into one of the emptied homes before it could even think about harming anyone. The Titan stood before putting his hands in front of him, taking fighting stance. A magic circle appeared on his chest, then he proceeded to stomp one foot after the other while touching his pelvis as three other magic circles appeared on his body. Two of the magic circle produced energy resembling electricity which sparked around his body while the other two created white and red auras around his body. Now Val was ready to fight at max strength. The demon emerged from the home he was thrown into with an ominous energy radiating from it and an evil smirk as if he was ready to tear his opponent apart limb for limb. The other two demons were up to the dark haired Neko and Shin to take care of.

Shin took four steps back as for a second to catch his breath but it would seem that second would not happen as the demons just kept coming and coming each time becoming more and more forces than the last, the only thing that even helped him to stay focused on the fight and not his tiredness was that Vali and the knight seemed to have dealt with far more than him at this point. Not wanting to feel like dead weight the flower knight drew a circle with one hand and opened the other creating a magic seal in the allowing his petals to fly at the demons exploding upon contact with them however this left him open to an attack from the side from one of the demons the wound wasn't too deep but it still hurt like hell it was as if their claws were made from acid and hellfire. He repeated the spell again blowing them away. "Power through the pain Shin you got this!" he told himself aloud as all the demons stopped attacking and morphed together into some massive blob this was something new yet oddly interesting to watch, to say the least none of the reports that he had read never mentioned anything about them being able to do that.
Shin wasn't really sure as to what was going on but he did know that it wasn't gonna last very long if he had anything to say about it through this new form that the demons took on was way stronger by a mile but he couldn't let this thing get in his head, The redhead knew he had to strike hard and fast if he wanted to win and go home. This new demon just stood there motionless but he wasn't going to just jump in just so he could sustain another wound or even get killed if he wanted to win this fight he needs to play smart and use the area to his advantage as his uncle taught him so many years ago. The demons bent forwards and then quickly leaned back shooting out needles from its chest, thanks to his buff he was able to sidestep the attack just in time though he was only an inch away from the needles it was better than taking the hit from them. Now that he has seen what it attacks type was making up a strategy to work around it would be simple and easy for him though he did question how its body would affect the flowers back at his home seeing as its body could have an unknown effect on them he really wanted to try it and see though that would mean sleeping in the living room until it finished decomposing.

Of course Vali was unsure of how things here would end, but if he was to die he would make sure it was with honor. The demon he was fighting stood for moment, then suddenly he charged forward. The young lord charged as his enemy did, meeting him halfway only to begin exchanging blows. The demon was the first to hit Vali, slamming his fist onto Vali's cheek. The Desiertan quickly recovered and spun with the momentum of the demons punch, kicking kicking the demon in the face. The two beings took blow for blow, slamming pure strength against one another, creating small gusts of wind as they moved. The scene called for a dramatic fight. Behind the two of them homes burned in flames for what seemed to be eternity. The demon seemed to be just as quick as Vali Onfory, in fact he may have been faster. Every blow that Vali delivered the demon delivered two more until finally *RREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE* the demon roared. The sheer force of the scream was enough to send the viking tumbling back, sending him into the wall of a distraught home 10 meters behind him. The elf scoffed, standing on both his feet as he wiped blood from his face. "So this is the power of a demon..." he smirked as he drew his dagger from his waist. "It has been a while since I had to push myself." Val breathed heavily but tired he was not. It was rather exciting knowing that if he was to lose it would be by a demon. The young lord darted forward, running at max speed in 4 seconds as the demon lifted his hands to counter anything the human tried. As Vali approached him he swung his right hand downward, attempting to slice the demon across the face only to miss as it dodged. The noble man didn't stop there, he continued to swing his hands, repeatedly trying to hit the demon with his dagger or with his fist. Either way he intended on delivering a blow that could be followed up with a combo of some sort. The lord's strength alone was enough to cripple an opponent, especially now that the power of the satri gods was in effect. Val managed to push the demon back towards a wall behind it but as the Fairy swung downward once more for what he thought would be a fatal blow, the demon dodged and struck his knee straight into Vali's stomach, causing the young fighter to spit blood. In a split moments notice, the viking dropped his dagger from one hand, catching it with the other to slice the demon's throat. The demon was caught off guard. It's eyes widened before it dropped to it's knees. Vali landed on his feet breathing much heavier than before. The blood dripped from the demons neck, sizzling as it touch the ground. "Will the gods accept a creature like you as a sacrifice? Only one way to find out." He began while lifting his left arm. Before he could do anything, the demon let out another screech, this time a ball began to form inside it's mouth. The Desiertan elf opened his eyes but it was too late. At point blank range he was doomed. Finally a blast erupted from the demon's mouth, sending Val through the wall he crashed into before, causing the house to collapse on him. "Aggghh!" he let out as the cement from the homes fell. The demon on the other hand seemed to be done fighting. The slice across it's neck took its toll slowly but eventually the demons body lay flat on the ground, lifeless. In a hurry Vali pushed the cement off of his body. Thanks to his above average durability he was harmed, but not bad to the point where it would be impossible for him to continue fighting. When the crumbs of building was finally off of him, the young lord stood. He bled from his left shoulder and his arm was dislocated. His armor was bruised and broken, the cape was torn. His lip gushed with red fluid and his knees were struggling to hold him up but when he looked towards his enemy he noticed that he was out of commission but still struggled to move. "For a second there I thought you had me." He admitted. Once again he lifted his arm, this time using his right whilst a magic circle formed above his palm. "Before you die, I sacrifice you to the Satri gods, May they punish you forever." He breathed as he swung his arm down. A giant metallic hand slammed onto the demon, crushing it's body. When the spell vanished there was nothing there. Val turned to see how his peers were doing. Although he was battered and fucked up he could still be of service to anyone who needed help.

Requiem looked around in confusion as the demons started running towards the center into three clusters, "um... OH SHIT!" She saw that her two comrades were busy with their demons, leaving her with a demon of her own.
Requiem looked at her dagger and then back at the giant demon she was up against on her own. She figured her only chance in this situation was to stall long enough for one of her allies to finish off their own before getting their help. Or maybe if she got lucky she might find a weakness to exploit.
She raced out of its reach and kept moving in a circular pattern to keep it busy as she studied it, "Not to sound ungrateful or helpless, but I could use a hand here."

Shin reached behind him pulling out his leaf staff as he felt like this was one of the moments where you would need to use whatever you have to win. This must have been what Kon meant back at the pier when he said they are a lot stronger than they look and the death that they bring along with them. Spike the demon wasn't so thrilled about getting hit by this super stylish mage at all, Its left arm twitched as it stood back up and let out a small squeaking sound like rusted armor trying to move back into place but not wanting to waste a golden chance to get another hit in Shin flicked his wrist and created his Thron whip once again to aid him. He swung the whip at the demon's legs in hopes of taking it out, as the whip started to wrap around its leg he moved in about three meters with a spin making the whip wrap around its hits making it easier to knock it down. As Spike lay on the ground its body twitched launching out the spikes but this time they came from all over its body through the spikes only reached about twenty feet from it "What the hell?" this behavior was similar to that of a child so Shin moved in to melee range falling for its trap and getting pierced by the spikes through his left leg and torso pushing him back two feet.
Not fully realizing that he just made one of the worst mistakes he could have made this whole fight Shin flicked his right wrist summoning a large 0.5 meter Dionaea muscipula in front of him. He held his torso "This better not leave a scar or so help me I'll kill every last one of you myself!" he muttered looking at his best creation and pointed at the demon as it was still on the ground. The Dionaea opened its mouth and moved towards the demon as the flower knight held it down with the whip, the fight wasn't all that simple though as the demon relaunched the spikes any time the Dionaea got any were closer to it. He looked at his blood stain his clothes due to his own reckless actions but he had to win this fight and prove that these things are just bugs that need a good stomping out. Not wanting to waste more time on this fight than he already had the flower knight got to his feet using his staff to keep him up he had the monster plant attack it by wrapping its self around while the spikes were around it and biting off its head.

Bruised, battered and broken, the Viking Lord of Skaal stood victorious. Whilst he watched his peers fight off their enemies he looked up at the sky. The rift which summoned the demons was still in the darkened, Burgundy sky but it seemed to be getting smaller. "Thank you." He murmered to his gods. Today wasn't his day to die but he feared that judgement day was coming soon...too soon for comfort. His legs were sore, his arms were weakened but he still had some fight in him. However, he wouldn't intrude on the other remaining two fighters chance at glory. "Lord Vali!" he heard from behind. He turned to face his two men who had returned unharmed. "Are you alright?" they asked in Icebergan. It was the only language they were fluid in. "Yes, yes I'm fine. Are the people safe?" He asked in worry. Though these Fiorians weren't necessarily his people they were innocent bystanders. "Yes, m'lord. You look like shit." Vali chuckled. "I do don't I? It looks like we won't have to fight in a few moments. Hopefully these two are stronger than they look." With a grunt he turned. The pain crushed his arm as if he'd been under a boulder. Still, nothing the tough elf couldn't handle. "We need to leave, Val. The village, it might be under attack too." "No. I won't leave until I know it's safe here. We'll go back home soon, don't fret." The vikings nodded but with his back turned towards them and his eyes watching the fight he couldn't see his trusted men glance at each other in disagreement with their leader. "Check the rest of the homes, see if there is anyone else." He commanded. Without another word his men did his bidding. "The rift is closing! We are almost victorious, give these demons hell!" he shouted towards the two fighters before his eyes. A little motivation always helped. Only moments after, Shin successfully defeated his demon. As odd as it may seem, Vali was surprised. He knew that as a mage of Fairy Tail shin had it in him but he also knew that this flower mage wasn't the strongest of the litter. He was brave though and that stood for something. With a nod his eyes went to the nekomata female. They hadn't had the time to speak but now he noticed just how beautiful she was. It'd be a shame for such a phenomenal woman to die. He wouldn't allow it though, even if she couldn't bring herself to defeat her enemy. Seeing her made him wonder what the outcome would be if he was to impregnate her. Surely this wasn't the best moment for thoughts like that, still though. Would they create elven cat humans? That'd be disastrous. |

Without her ranged spells ready, Requiem found herself forced to keep her distance until she could either close in or throw another attack at it. It wasn't until she was cornered that she realized the monster had actually guided her with its attacks, "I hate my life sometimes, no really, I do." Her monologue was interrupted by the creature howling before kicking at her.
Having literally no choice but up, Requiem leapt and kicked off the walls to the roof, "Can't say the view is any better here." The beast roared at the irritating Neko. She ran along the rooftops as it started to swing madly at her, "bad day, bad day, bad day!" She was nearing a wide road, one she knew from previous experience that she couldn't clear and resigned herself to another painful crash, "oh shit, window."
Requiem crashed through the window and rolled to soften the landing, "starting to hate this. Really need to do more cardio, and stop skipping leg day."
Thu Jul 11, 2019 10:24 pm
Soon the Neko woman was moving away from Vali and shin. Her enemy had managed to push her to the roof tops, making her leap from building to building for her life. As much as Vali wanted to help, this was war and that meant she knew exactly what she signed up for. The half elf turned his head to look around frantically, trying to make sure that there were no more civilians. His two viking warriors had entered each of the broken buildings searching for any civilians but found none. In a hurry they came back to their lord. "Nothing, M'lord. The Fiorians are safe, now we need you to be." The man began in their native language. "Get our horses." Vali commanded in Icebergic to the red haired viking. With a nod he turned to move. Remembering that Shin was with him, he faced the flower mage. "You alright, friend? You fought like a true warrior today." He nodded. "My horse will be here soon. I am going to check up on the people we managed to save, you are welcome to travel with me." Vali was sure that his job was done here. After all his shoulder was disconnected, his legs weak and today just wasn't the best day in terms of performance. Still the Titan was ready to take on any extra trouble.

"Lord Vali..." One of the viking warriors began. He was a bit shorter than the lord himself and his head was shaved short- but not to the scalp. The viking pointed at the area where some of the homes had been destroyed. Between the buildings, a platoon of Rune Knights were storming towards the ruckus. The blue uniforms combined into a raging tide. Frantically the worn Lord glanced around. He didn't have the time to see about how the Nekomata's fight would end. Val could only hope that Shin knew what he was doing. Leaving his guild mate here wasn't something that he wanted to do, in fact in the flower Knight wanted to come then he could. "Shin, I have to go." He began as he glanced towards his peer. Val's warriors began to draw their weapons. If the Rune Knights came across Vali they would surely begin to ask questions. Perhaps they already knew about the half-elf's village deep within Worth Woodsea. Either way, the desiertan couldn't take that chance. He was an illegal immigrant here after all, and he brought over a hundred of other illegal immigrants as well. "Maarav, quickly." Val snapped in Icebergan. He shouted towards the viking warrior who had come back with three horses. Maraav was a bit huskier than the shorter haired viking known as Wade. Both were very valuable to Vali though. Maarav quickly gave his lord a horse. It was sable and divine almost. Perfect in every aspect, a true body stallion. The noble Desiertan was never more happy to see his steed. Wade and Maarav helped their leader, then mounted their horses. "Shin, the Rune Knights are coming and I can not stay here. You can come with me now otherwise we will meet again, friend." Vali turned said to Shin. If the black haired mage had agreed then Val would leave him space to hop onto the back and ride with him. If not, he would wish him the best. - EXIT - |

"Come and get me!" She took up a stance and chanted as the demon roared at her, "Death Is Not The End." She felt the power flow through her as shadows stated to enshroud the young woman. Requiem followed it up with several more handsigns that boosted her speed and strength even more, "now let's see how powerful you really are."
A deafening roar dared her to attack as it reached out for her. She smirked before launching herself off the roof and leaving a deep gash on its finger before disappearing into the shadow of the demon and popping back up on the ground before vanishing again and leaping out of a connected shadow on the wall. This blow was aimed for the jaw. Ordinarily the attack would cause the jaw to break and the rapid application of pressure would knock out whatever poor fool took the hit. The demon simply seemed to shake it off before trying to swat at her.
There are many ways to defeat a larger foe. When holding the knife, always aim for the vital spots. Kidneys, liver, lungs, heart, arteries, windpipe. If a decisive blow is not a choice, death by a thousand cuts is the next option. You don't make art. You're whole existence to to create corpses.
Requiem hated the voice, the one that belonged to the people who tried to ruin her. But she couldn't deny how helpful that advice was now. As the demon tried to stop or swat at her, she would dance away and leave several more cuts on the attacking limb before taking a shot at the throat. After the seventh time, she landed a strike and felt something give.
The creature grasped at its neck, trying to steam the flow of its life that leaked through weakened fingers as it fell over.
Bit with a bang, but a whisper.
She had done it again.
Even though her magic was weak against such creatures, she had managed to kill a large demon.
Now all she had to do was help with the aftermath.

The building that had been set up in was a rather nice bar and she saw a portly man sweating over a map with red and blue pins marking where the demons had gained footholds and where they'd been pushed back, "Thanks to the outside help, we've managed to contain the situation, once the squares are secured well be able to send reinforcements through to the docks"
The various men and women present received their orders before dispersing and the captain approached Requiem, "now then. You're the one I was told to speak to about this little sign." He held up a picture showing a demon with the sign of Echidna on it. Requiem swallowed nervously and nodded, "I'm afraid most of what I know is going to be out of date, and this is certainly beyond what they were capable of before I fled."
The man tapped his chin, "once this situation is under control, come speak to me in my office. We have much to discuss." Requiem saluted and headed back out, helping in places where she could before finally getting to an Inn and getting a room for the night.
