The Wrath of demons was nothing compared to the wrath of the viking lord known as Vali Onfroy. The fight was brutal but yesterday Vali and two others were able to stop the maleficent demonic entities from destroying the entire town. Granted he wasn't able to stop them from killing a handful of people he still did everything in his power. Who would have thought? An Icebergan Lord, son of an Jarl to one of the greatest villages in the country... would be in Fiore... fighting for Fiorian lives... after his brother was murdered by the Fiorian government. The thought of defending a country he hated only months ago turned his stomach. It was bad enough that he had to kill his own mother. These days it felt like his path wasn't as clear as it used to be.

The Streets were oddly quiet tonight. Perhaps all the festivities that took place pushed the civilians to find more comfort within their homes then ever before. It was understandable too. Normal people didn't have the abilities to defend themselves so they were extremely dependent on Rune Knights and guild members. It was a good thing Vali was the furthest thing from normal. The Titan's cape flapped in the wind as he moved quietly, eyes peered for any demon that may be lingering in the shadows. Truth was, he wasn't done fighting yet. He was so filled with anger and pain, all he wanted was to see more of those demonic creatures so that he could punish them for corrupting his mother.

Val turned his head quickly towards the rooftop of a destroyed building, catching the gaze of someone he hadn't seen in weeks. The hooded being glared at the elven warrior with it's ghostly blue eyes and the icebergan could only stare back. Frustratedly he balled his fist. "What the fuck do you want from me!?" He yelled out in the Icebergan language. Vali was the only person that would be able to see this random being so to anyone around him he'd probably just look...well...crazy.

Erebus2

STAB! STAB! STAB!

Erebus had a woman pinned under a half-broken pole, it seems he was pressing such force through it, that he had torn through her flesh and in between her ribcage. Though, she had been dead for some time already, he was just playing with the corpse now. Giggling, lunatic. He couldn't shake the feeling of committing to this... The gravest sin. Taking life was much the same as giving it, to people who had died already. He decided who's time and when; just as the demons had his. Something about it was euphoric and delicious, and vengeful.

There was no remorse in his eyes, as there used to be. His time in the abyssian underworld hardened him to this, he didn't even possess an Obscura, his intentions for evil were demented all on their own! Erebus would have gone lost in the thoughts of his own deed, however chance took its fateful effect.

Erebus stopped his ear perked up just in time for him to hear a voice around the building's corner. It was then when he heard the shout of another human out in the dead of night. Red-- thick hemoglobin was dripping from the fiend's cheek down to his bottom lips. His head shot to the side, and humanity returned to his person, he stood up fully from the massacre in front of him and dusted off his robe, somehow blood was mostly void of his clothing, other than a few drops at the nape and his leg being drenched in it from how close he was to the puddles of red.

He tossed the pole to the side, hearing it clink against a few saws and other metallic objects that probably would have seen use had he not snapped out of such bloodlust. His hands, both slid against the frame of the alley wall, he was a silent gangster in his past life, he knew how to ride in undetected. However, upon finding another noteworthy individual with white hair. The husk; the mortal coil which Erebus inhabited pushed itself into the gaze of the moonlight, approximately twenty-five feet from the one's name was Vali Onfroy's left.

Erebus couldn't see anything else in the area; though he wasn't stupid and knew he heard Vali questioning another force. Because of his own demonic activity two years ago, he knew some entities could shroud their own presence...

To knock Vali off as another loon just like him? It wouldn't be fair. Instead Erebus concentrated very heavy on the building his new play friend was staring at. And spoke up himself. "It's not nice to stare at us? Playing that kind of game gets people SENT TO HELL! Or didn't you know that?" Of course Erebus didn't know what he was talking towards, and his mind had been lost a long time ago. So whatever he was saying was completely and utterly void of meaning at first. but he would play the game, that's what Strategist's do. But if he believed hard enough, he could almost... Just barely..

And then he was seeing it. He was staring at the being Vali spoke too. Cloaked with icy blue eyes. Erebus immediately dropped his psychotic act and was normal yet again. His intuition had been right. Vali wasn't crazy... But maybe Erebus was? Whatever the case, somehow, everything was bleeding together now.

Standing in the middle of the street, between two sidewalks only 10 meters apart from each other, The frustrated Fairy clenched his jaws angrily, glaring at the phantom. Still the phantom  stood unbothered on the roof of a building only 25 feet from Vali's left side. The Titan had absolutely no idea what this being was or what it could have been capable of. He heard stories back home about spirits that communicated with humans. Apparently they usually act as messengers for the gods. As much as the young lord wanted to believe that this was a messenger, at this point he was desperate enough try and beat answers out if it. Patience was something that he lacked as of late which was unusual. The noble viking drew his dagger with his right hand, before raising his left arm into the air. "Fuck it." He finally said in Icebergic.

Vali's decision was made. As the titan was just about to use one of his strongest spells a voice boomed from behind him, raspy and annoying but couldn't have been yelling at the Desiertan Elf. The white haired mage turned his head to see where the voice was coming from and where exactly it was aimed at. If it wasn't aimed at Vali himself then that could only mean - "You! You can see it!?" He asked surprised when the man finished scolding the ghost. How could that be possible? Even in broad daylight people never seem to see it, what makes this guy any different? The Fairy quickly turned back towards the ghost. Oddly enough the being wasn't acknowledging the zombie man. Say something. Vali thought to himself as he watched the Phantom in silence, waiting until the perfect moment to move. He had hoped that it would at least respond to someone other than him, but if this man could see it then maybe it wasn't really a ghost after all.

Suddenly something seemed to snap within the phantom. One moment it was intensely staring at the seven foot viking, the next moment it snapped its neck towards the man that had been yelling at it creating a woosh noise, and finally acknowledging the zombie man's existence. Although this was only the mysterious being realizing that Erebus could actually see him, the viking himself would have no idea that was the reason why. Immediately after, the phantom was gone, gone with the wind. Who is this guy? The Lord thought thought to himself as he turned to face the draugr looking man. For a moment Vali glared at the man, not a noise being made just analyzing everything about this man. His right leg is drenched in dried blood... messy white hair, dirty... This very man reeked of everything Vali had been against. "Who are you and what'd you just do? you saw it didn't you..."  He'd ask confidently in Icebergic seconds after analyzing him. Vali believed only in the religion of Satri so whatever this being was would logically be something related to Satri, and only Icebergans worshipped the Satri gods so if this tired kid could see the cloaked being on the roof ... than he had to be Icebergan.

Malevolent spirits weren't anything new to Erebus Cassiel, which if he were left up to guess. That was what they had been staring at. He himself was one after all, a ghost who had bonded to someone's else's body. There was probably a bit of sacrificing he assumed, or maybe the spell backfired and Erebus was the one in billions to escape his damnation. No one could yet say for certain. Not even he; in flesh and blood, could describe how he was breathing; animating the husk, the shell. The returned spirit of a dead criminal. That's what all was. The science behind it? Pure mysticism. With no valid explanation. Not yet at least. His memories were quite foggy. It made little sense, but regardless, if by some mistake he was alive, then he'd never go back to the abyss.

The cloaked ghoul made acknowledgment quite hesitantly before disappearing from the area. Perhaps that was it's answer to the much taller Icebergen to his right. A curious man always worked harder for answers. In a way, Erebus viewed this as guidance for the warrior. But he wouldn't let that be known, it was always more fun to abuse the psyche of men like Vali. They were often one-track, and very defined by their sense of either justice or retribution. For some reason, Erebus sensed that in the guy. He was callous, a tough guy, but tough guys always have touchy subjects underneath.

Erebus remembered that much. He saw much of himself in this guy, and for whatever reason... It was disturbing to say the least.

"Huh? I didn't do anything but talk. Is that a crime to you?" Erebus spoke, he had already learned this language long ago as he was accelerating through Grimoire Heart, so the understanding of it seemed to reach the tip of his tongue rather easily, and he pressed further to see if the ghost and the viking were the reason for his understanding of the language, seemingly instantly. Perhaps, Erebus was more intelligent than he gave himself the credit for.

"To be honest with you Swordsman, I didn't see anything until I really wanted too. You see, in this world, imagination is the building blocks to everything. You can manifest whatever you want, under certain rules. Seeing is believing... Or is believing... Seeing? Regardless, phantoms are just that, phantoms. I'm unphased by your visitor, it was a coward, just look at the way it fled. Hahaha. Our strength together must have frightened the poor thing. Oh! It's my turn to ask a question. I'm Erebus... Who might you be?" The killer playfully pushed the subject down. Opting instead to talk to the viking, since the phantom left, it must have been evidence to suggest this chance encounter either bothered it, or... This encounter was fate. Already scripted into the Akashic Records and the sands of our time. Vali was a new treasure for Erebus to reap.

Just as I thought, he is Icebergan. In all of Vali's time here in Fiore he had never met another Icebergan outside of the ones he brought to this country. It was rather...weird knowing that someone other than his people were in Fiore, it made him curious about this man's story. The silver haired man defended himself by saying he only talked, even being a bit sarcastic. The seven foot titan remained silent. Instead of responding, his eyes remained glued to the man in front of him in an attempt to analyze his way of speaking and small mannerisms. Paying attention to detail was the vikings specialty - that and bashing skulls, he couldn't afford to miss anything that might explain why the phantom seemed so bothered by the guy in front of him.

Or maybe he wasn't bothered, maybe this was meant to happen. Val's pointed ears twitched as the stranger spoke, holding tightly onto his dagger in case he'd have to use it at any moment. The white haired zombie admitted that he could only see the ghostly being after focusing. That would explain why it didn't acknowledge him at first... Maybe he wasn't supposed to see it. he thought as the man continued speaking explaining that imagination was power which the Fairy couldn't help but to agree with. In the end, imagination was probably the only reason any of the gods existed. In a sense, Humans created all gods through raw imagination and a bit of delusion.

When Erebus spoke his next words the viking lord couldn't help but to raise an eyebrow, intrigued at what he was getting at and how he spoke. Apparently he wasn't fazed or worried about the ghost, but then again..how could he be? He wasn't the one that saw it for weeks, he wasn't the one being led by it. Of course it was easy for him to disregard it. The man then finally revealed himself as Erebus - a name well suited for someone who looked like the personification of darkness. Something was off about this man. "I do not think you are stupid enough to believe that it fled because of our strength, I doubt we could hurt it even if we tried." He spoke in the common tongue with a sigh, his accent thick as always. Slowly he took his first step forward. "I am Vali Onfroy, son of Jarl Tristan." He greeted formally. "What's your story?" He asked, glancing down at the man's bloody leg.

"Hurt it? Anything can get hurt, I promise you."

Vali Onfroy.

Erebus lipped the name to himself, his thoughts moving like light traveling space. Son of a Jarl? Well, how very, very, interesting. Erebus recalled his mother's family hailing from distant lands of these so called Jarls. But he hated her, that much he remembered quite well. Scratching his head, he had to thank this son of Tristan. If Vali could add color to his past then so be it. He was worth keeping around, if not for the charming taste in the supernatural, then for his company at least.

"Wish I could tell you everything, but I'm still getting back some of it. All I can tell you Vali, is that in the world I know, Phantoms are the least of our worries." Erebus looked down at his own leg, following Vali's curious glance. "I suppose this bothers you? I reckon murder bothers many, but it's something people like me have no choice but to partake in... Would you like to see the body my friend?" Erebus had a rasp in his voice, but it was charismatic. Almost as if Satan himself were talking to the Icebergen Warrior.

Erebus was not a deceiver, he just simply didn't have enough answers yet to feed others-- he was learning as he went, who he was. To him; he was crazy, and talented. He was a depraved monster. and that's as far as his consciousness could take him. But feeling down about the dark things he was tortured for, it would not liberate his soul, he was a killing addict. He was as such many years before he'd died anyways; those types of horrors were cemented into him. Such was his nature.

Forces of chaos were made for their purposes,
pure destruction. The universe bred evil to balance the light. Everything was on a pendulum, if you truly wished to think about it.

"I'll say this now though friend. I don't much know you. If you are the type of person that I think you are. The deeds I commit too, will have us on opposite ends of the law, are you ready to be apart of the world I live? I can't trust that you'll like me much the more you push to learn."

Anything can get hurt, I promise you... Those words lingered in Vali's mind, even while Erebus continued to speak. Wise, confident- much like the young lord himself is what Val noticed. This man was an odd one, but truth be told the fairy hadn't met anyone so strikingly interesting since he been in this apocalyptic country. It's been months, and this white haired man had managed to draw the Jarl in just by being...well...himself? Erebus next words are what caught the Desiertan off guard. Not only did he say he was getting "Some of it back." But also that the Phantom was the least of their worries.

"It is is the same in the world that I know." He stated, not entirely understanding what the edgy fellow was getting at. The Elven titan took a few steps forward once more only stopping when Erebus responded to Vali noticing his leg. The viking made it quite obvious what he was looking at, calling for an immediate explanation before anything else. "Heh, bothers me? Murder is apart of who I am. I am a killer at heart, Erebus. Take me to the body." He crossed his arms. Erebus then warned him of the man he himself was, but Vali played as if none of that mattered. It did though, it mattered more than anything right now considering the Phantom Brought him to the lord to such a man.

"I doubt I am the person that you think I am. I have done things that would not allow me to enter the gates of Valhalla. I should warn you though, if you are taken innocent lives for your own amusement, Friend, then I will have no choice but to put an end to yours. Lead the way." He said with a smirk. Confident as always.

"End.. My life?" Erebus spoke, letting the words drip from his hollow pits. Such a dangerous thing to say to someone you would have suspicions of. Troubling as it was, Erebus wasn't bothered to the point he himself couldn't smirk it off as well. But the end? To the abyss? Already? No, no, no... He wouldn't go back there. Not for anything. He would have no choice but to put everything into this second chance, which meant every drop of sweat and hold for life he had into Vali's demise as well should it come to that. There would be no eye for an eye here tonight, not for this cold-blooded murderer. He was no believer in karma, not at all. In fact, he was a firm believer in rightful judgment. Despite the irony of his fate, he didn't find it fair in the least when a demonic contract was involved.

Erebus finally spun around on his blood-soaked leg. Motioning the Cild of Jarl Tristan to follow. In truth Vali had very much threatened and declared them enemies already, because the corpse in that alleyway was innocent, or to Erebus' knowledge she was. Whether she was someone's sister, daughter, or young mother. She was dead for no real reason, natural selection perhaps? The truth was, killing is frankly norm to the Husk. Erebus was a seasoned monster, there was never a valid reason for his killing. To say he didn't enjoy it would be a lie. Killing innocents was nothing new for such an outlandish entity. Erebus was on the run from a special demon after all, a demon God known as Malum. Now... Granted, he couldn't recall why he was indebted, he did understand that his existence was technically unexplained, he was in someone's else's body, here for an unknown cause, to an unjust call. "I'm afraid we may not get to be friends for much longer Vali. You are exactly the kind of man I thought you'd be." The two walked together, as their steps broke the silence of the night. Erebus smiled quite casually. Ready to show off his game, like a huntsman boasting of the mighty lion flayed before the eyes of the competition.

Upon closer arrival to where he'd left the body Erebus himself froze, staring at a thick puddle of red-- empty of the carcass he'd left for it. Strange. The corpse itself was missing, the blood left behind. There were no boot prints or anything to evidence it being drug off though. So what was going on? "It looks like someone stole my kill, how rude." The white haired wizard spoke in an upset scoff, his mind jogged a pace as he began to look up, down, and turn around quickly. The charade with the phantom did not make Erebus scared, but the thought of something stalking him that he'd mutilated did, it meant someone was watching that he couldn't possibly be aware of. Such things had always made Erebus paranoid, after all-- he couldn't stand the thought of slipping up this time around. It also spelled trouble for Vali, should they be together, they could be in trouble together. "I'm unsure where it's ran off too," he said dryly.

Erebus was at a loss for words. Was it all in his head? It couldn't be... The blood was very real, it was on his own clothing...

With a sly smirk comfortably on his face, Vali nodded as Erebus spun on one leg before moving forward. If Erebus turned out to be a psychopath it would make sense, honestly. He was Icebergan from what Val could tell, it's safe to say that murder and darkness runs in their blood. For generations, war and long nights served a certain purpose in the country of ice so the young lord wasn't that much different than this stranger here. Still, killing innocent people is far from what the noble lord stood for, regardless of how comfortable violence and murder made him. Part of Vali hoped that Erebus actually hadn't killed an innocent person - not because he cared so much about these Fiorians, but because it would mean that he had a purpose bound to an evil being. For one reason or another this obviously deranged man played an important role in his destiny?

As the two walked to see Erebus' victim, Erebus concluded that Vali Onfroy was in fact the person he thought he'd be. "What kind of man am I then?" He asked with his arms crossed. Soon the duo had arrived to the spot where Erebus had supposedly murdered someone. As they moved closer towards the scene, the Desiertan spotted a thick red liquid painted on the concrete. "Shit. What did you do to the poor lad?" he asked. There was a pool of blood but the body wasn't there which surprised the pale stranger himself. "Huh. Stealing bodies, aye?" The elf kneeled down to closely examine the puddle for any clues on where this body could have gone.

When he saw nothing, he looked up at Erebus with an eyebrow raised. For a quick moment Val just watched his new acquaintance. Slowly he lifted his finger to point, still on one of his knees as he tucked his lips inside his mouth. "You fuckin' ate it." He wildly guessed, wagging his finger. Val wouldn't put anything past this guy, who knew what he was capable of? "I thought you were a killer but I did not take you for a cannibal. You are one sick fuck..." He said quickly, not letting Erebus defend against being called a cannibal. "Must be a dark and lonely soul you have in that corpse of yours, I pity you. Sucks to see an Icebergan lose his way." He said genuinely, shaking his head.

He meant every word too. It was obvious that Erebus wasn't an ordinary person. He was strong, the viking lord could feel that much but he, like mentioned before, is fighting a different fight.

Huh? What kind of man you say? Erebus thought about it. "You're that heroic type, the kind that my type has to snuff out in order to see success." Erebus waved the question off, letting his new friend examine the murder case, and the mysterious disappearance there of...

"EHHHHHH? Ohhhhh wow. So you'd like me to say that wouldn't you?!" Erebus was bent. The wagging finger didn't help the upsetting accusation either. Erebus was expecting to be pointed at.

The Husk's face revealed instant surprise at the wild charges pressed his way. He attempted to speak on it more, but Vali interrupted him twice, causing the killer to really think back, the longer his maddened soul had to try an retro-cognate on it, the further he strayed from actually knowing what happened to the body. The last thing he could remember, was pulling the long rod out of the woman's chest. "Icebergen wai- cannibel?! CANNIBEL?!"

Erebus could feel the will to defend his case speaking up. "Look Vali, I only murder people okay. There is no eating involved in that alright, and just the very thought of putting a disgusting human in my mouth almost makes me want to die twi-!" Shouted the white-haired husk cutting himself off quickly. His eyes were so crazily wild, with the piercing in his neck dancing with his adam's apple; he was dead serious. He wasn't the type to eat carcasses. People who fleshed on the living were something different; they really were demon. Beast or demon, but they were far from anything Erebus would care to do. Perhaps in his Lycan days, when he couldn't control the hunger. No longer was he bound to that starvation for a meal he could not eat on the table. The day Erebus ate someone out of pure amusement would be the true humanity in him disappearing forever.

"You're the sick one, you just put that blood in your mouth. You don't see me out here promoting the spread of AIDs. Do you? No, you don't... Fuck you." He argued, turning his face away from the giant. However, Erebus truly was interested in locating the body. Perhaps a bit of exploration would reveal where it had went. A lonely man attempting to get his nut off to a corpse? A mad scientist testing his knowledge of the anatomy? A vampire resurrecting the pathetic whore... Who knows. The chances were limitless. "If you're done with the sidebar conversation, help me find my trophy. I'm bothered by a thief who would move such a delicate piece of art."

Oddly enough the elf had never thought of himself as the heroic type. If killing all those who opposed him and his people meant heroic, then yeah he sure as hell was the heroic type. Erebus words didn't harm him though, in fact they made him feel better of a person. Having been the killer of his mother only pushed him to question his sanity but this draugr like man spoke words that eased the pain Val was feeling. The viking shrugged. Erebus seemed offended - if truly offended at all by Vali's accusation. Yes, he looked like a man capable of eating another human. "I mean..." He tucked his lips looking away. "Yes, a fucking cannibal. Come on, do not say that you have never thought about it." Vali snickered.

The viking lord was comfortable around Erebus for one reason or another. It could have to do with the fact that this dude was a man who had probably done things more horrible than killing a corrupted, treasonous mother. Or maybe it was deeper than the eye could see. Regardless, Erebus was an interesting person and learning more about him would help the lord understand if their meeting was fate. The pierced murderer stood his ground, ensuring Val that cannibalism wasn't his thing. As he spoke the viking noticed his eyes bolting everywhere, bouncing to and fro like ping pong balls. "Relax, relax." he chuckled just before Erebus spoke once more.

"I am the sick one huh? Oh look, now you are accusing me of being a cannibal, fuck you...weirdo." He grunted embarrassed by the slander as his face turned as red as humanly possible for a black man. Erebus was a weirdo for certain and he was obviously a deranged man so when he asked for the elf's help there was no true explanation for why Val didn't deny. "Alright but only because I see now that you are incapable of killing an innocent person to save your life." He sighed. He then crouched his knees, and leapt onto the roof above the two. Considering they were both in an alley, if they didn't see the corpse thief leave onto the street then chances were he was traveling from roof to roof?

"Even if you did kill someone, what would the body do for you now?" He asked. However It only took a second for the noble fairy to put two and two together so before Erebus could answer, "Oh, you are one of those too? Gods, you surprise me more and more." He finally said as he waited for Erebus to come to the roof. "If I am going to help you though, there are things I need you to answer." Although his accent was thick, he spoke well enough for even the dumbest of the litter to understand him.

Erebus's eyes traveled back to the Viking, glaring through into the irises of the fellow white-haired character. "We do things we mustn't, but those actions don't define us, unless we let them. I will not deny that once upon a time, I was forced to do acts I wouldn't normally have committed too." He reasoned. "Those actions were done out of survival Vali, I myself, wouldn't dream of it regardless. I've truly seen a hell, perhaps unlike the textbook biblical one. But it was all too much... In that world, there are no deeds worse than eating the husk of another soul. Nigh except eating the soul itself. That is the game of the Demons, and I hate demons." The seriousness, even charismatic tone in the voice of the shelled-up ghost. It invoked wonders about the side of him that truly wasn't all that bad. However, you couldn't take one statement, one opinion, and justify his entire person. Erebus was the classic killer, plain and simple. He killed for the hunt of it, the game of life and death. Just because he would rather choose to leave a corpse undisturbed-- a piece of art for others to come across and see, did not mean he was the type to swallow it, and feast on the life of another.

After all, he was not that far mad yet. All the craziness in his life thus far? Could not amount to him desiring to do so. Lycanthropy aside, Erebus-- Vance-- was no cannibal.

"I remember, what felt like a millennium ago. I actually used language as crude as you. Letting it slip from time to time is all in good fun Vali, but telling me you'd fuck me doesn't get your point across." He mocked, cracking a grin whilst he noticed the taller male turning head from the conversation. Erebus remained quiet, as he used his shoe to draw his name into the ground in blood. He prayed the Rune Knights would find it, and give him a good game of search and destroy. Meanwhile, Vali took a leap so high he was atop the building, looking about for the wicked body-snatcher.

"Answers? I don't have much knowledge in that category. How about my insights?" Joked the sarcastic villain.

As Val listened to Erebus he could certainly see that Erebus believed every word that departed his mouth. Val raised an eyebrow wondering if this was all metaphoric or literal. He spoke of a hell different from the one told in stories but still a hell nonetheless. Erebus must have been through some weird shit, that would explain many of his mechanisms. Vali nodded. This was a rather different side of Erebus. In the little time that he knew him he hadn't seen him speak about something so genuinely. Then, there it was again. The mad man twisted the viking lords words just as he did before. "Do not flatter yourself, kid." Val laughed. "You are far from what I intend to plow tonight." he said matter of factly. Immediately thoughts of exotic women flushed his thoughts, he could taste them already.

As he finally stood atop the roof, Erebus admitted that he lacked the knowledge to give Vali any answers but could instead give insight. Still, the noble man was not going to let his new acquaintance off the hook so easily. Shaking his head, the young lord spoke. "You do not even know what I am going to ask." he swung his hands up. "I just want to know where you are from, where did you learn Icebergan, how did you get to Fiore, who your parents are, what happened to them, your magical abilities, how old you are, your last name, and if you believe in any gods?" Val shrugged. "Easy enough, aye?." he gestured his hand for the zombie-like man to come onto the roof as well. Whoever had his body wasn't just going to wait around. Vali was all too curious as to who exactly Erebus was. it was important that learned as much as he could about him because clearly the gods had some sort of diabolical plan for the two.

Erebus2

Erebus spat at the ground before pushing his foot off the smooth stone pavement, he still hadn't quite learned to channel this body's magical channel, so he resorted to old school parkour to make his way up the thirteen, perhaps fifteen rather-- foot wall.

He pulled the body up, realizing very quickly, that his past self possessed monumental higher physical strength, especially stamina. It was so different, he didn't even manage to put his body completely over the wall and yet he was sweating just a bit from the heaving, and pulling alone. He felt his heart beat skip a pace or so, such an odd thing to be tired so fast. That just wouldn't do, he'd need time to get stronger, either that, or he would have to figure something out. Adventuring without a clear way to defend oneself would leave him dead, fast.

"Vali you strike me as someone who should be finding his own answers rather than pestering an innocent man like me, for mine." Chortled the white haired fiend as he dusted off his body and threw a fur hood over his head. He eyes pandered for a dead body in the immediate area, bouncing from left to right, letting a moment pass so that he could listen to Vali talk a storm of questions into his ear.

"What are you, a detective? Sheesh." He yawned diligently, then stretched his back out before lifting his hand up grazing his chin. "Well, my memory is a bit foggy but I might be able to tell you a few things. I hail from the Capitol of Fiore, raised on the streets like a thug, but... Obviously I'm more intelligent than just some street hustler. I'm not quite sure where I learned Icebergen, if that's even what we are speaking. I simply remember spending endless nights training as a recruit for a rogue organization, to stand out. I willingly learned anything I could. Suppose it just stayed with me then? Odd though, as I could barely recall who I was just weeks prior to this moonlight. " Erebus vouched the truth, pointing to the stars and stopping his finger at the wide white circle hovering above the blackened night sky.

He sighed, speaking up again, simply to give Vali a bit more of whatever he desired to know. Not like anyone had ever asked, so what point in heavens did Erebus have to hide it? "Don't know much about my father. I think he had the surname Salvador, Sokolore? Something like that, but the family had money, and I was a bastard. My mother is a Cassiel, and she hails from a different continent. Memory just doesn't serve me well as to what. She got with some loser, but I was not strong enough to keep him away from my family, and so I was cast out of our home. To my knowledge, I have never been much of a Wizard, though. I can feel the mana course through me now, I'd vouch there's a good chance I'll catch up on this whole magic thing pretty soon. I don't know how old I am either, it feels like I've existed hundreds of years, and yet the newspapers tell me I've only been gone about two. So... Twenty two? But I'm sure this body is only twenty flat... I have my mother's surname, Cassiel. Anddd... for the moment at least, I'm quite literally agnostic. Probably atheist, but if Demon Lords are real I suppose there has to be Gods too." He answered stiff, scratching his neck. He then moved on ahead of Vali, jumping from buildings and walking across power-lines as if they were tightropes. Completely unafraid of miss-stepping. Perhaps he was the nimble type?

Seriously, how could this guy be some murderous monster? He couldn't even efficiently bring himself up to the roof like Vali had. It was rather disappointing really but at least Val knew better than to set the standard so high for this mysterious Icebergan. Hopefully in the grand scheme of things he wasn't useless. Erebus finally reached the roof while Val waited with his fists planted on his waist. The zombie-like man concluded that the viking was a man who found answers himself which was absolutely true. Maybe violence would prove to be a more efficient method of gathering intel. "Out with it." he demanded with a chuckle as he turned to walk across the roof.

The duo walked together as Erebus began to explain his story. Nothing too informative came from his words- or at least not for what Val was looking for. As far as the draugr of a man knew, he hailed from Fiore and was once training for some organization. Val tried to think about how anything in his story could be tied to his own. Nothing made sense though. What was worse was that Erebus didn't know how he came to speak the Icebergan tongue. "Serious case of memory loss, aye?" Val sighed as he looked towards the moon his acquaintance pointed at. Oddly enough he seemed to be a pretty decent person. it was obvious that there was something rotten inside of him though.

Erebus explained that he hadn't remembered his mothers history much but she was a Cassiel. The name sounded familiar to Vali, like he had heard it more than once but he couldn't quite put his finger on where he heard it. Cassiel... he thought. That was all he needed to hear really. The rest of this guys life didn't matter to the young lord so much, except the part about him not being a true worshipper of any deities. The moon lit the night like a campfire in the middle of open land. It was there, but it wasn't bright enough to reveal detail from afar. The mysterious man moved forward quickly, leaping from building to building as Vali followed in silence. He was in deep thought but when he saw a bright yellow tentacle-like thing moving towards Erebus from the roof of a building on the other side of the street, Vali broke out of his mind.

"Erebus!" He shouted as he quickly closed his hand to create a small throwing knife. Just before the tentacle could reach Erebus, Val threw it towards the tentacle, destroying it upon contact. The Viking stopped moving as he stood 5 meters behind Erebus. He squinted his eyes to look across the street at who or what was tracking. From the roof across from the duo, Val saw a total of 5 beings standing only feet apart from each other, red eyes staring at the half elf and his partner. The lord pointed, fine his posture and bracing himself for battle. "Look."

"We want Erebus and then we will be on our way." The being in the middle of the team of enemies began. His voice was stern, cold and hollow. The more Val strained his eyes the better he began to see. Next to the being who spoke there was a shorter being holding what seemed to be a dead body? Could that have been the body Erebus was talking about?

The shout caused Erebus to tense, his eyes, dragging. In slow motion, one would see the husk's figure push upward, bending much like a pole vaulter. The tentacle barely missing him. Thankfully he was close enough to a wall that he managed to slide down it acrobatically. However, not without having to breath, his stamina still low in this 'mage-caster' shell. Quite notably, he was able to grab a window ledge on his downward slide.

Amber eyes looked about the area, dancing from the attackers back to his new friend. He was unaware who they were, and at first thought they were enemies of Vali's actually. With more glancing their way, and their words cutting the air like a threat. Erebus quickly put two and two together. Their eyes glowed so much like his. They reminded him of the hellish fiends he was familiar with. No doubt about it. These were goons Malum had sent to retrieve him, the Renegade Soul.

A light bulb went off. He now remembered why he was killing. It was about more than grotesque murder. It was about the torture, the unending bloodshed you see in the trenches of another dimension. That shit stays with you. He owed these guys his full wraith. Because of them, he was mad. Unable to go without taking life. They were his antagonist's. His curse.

"Bloody fucking demons, how like you... To move my art from it's rightful place." He said, throwing a finger at them. "I'm not going back to the Abyss you disgusting freaks, leave me be!" Erebus gritted his teeth, as the pain in his head began to start up again. Flashbacks traumatizing him, making him sick to his core. He remembered that he was dead. A walking corpse.

Sweat.

Erebus still lacked his combat prowess. This wasn't going to be good.

Amongst the group, a tall figure stepped forward. Palming a mighty sword, Erebus knew enough to know that it probably weighed at least fifty pounds minimum. The beheader blade, Executioner's Sword, a weapon lost to the abyss, much like Vance had obtained his guns. This sword belonged to someone the demon's had won over in a contract. It was pretty intimidating to see someone heaving it now, ready to take his life.

Erebus was stuck. But he wouldn't run from a battle.

He dropped down from the ledge to the alleyway. "It looks like our time together may end short Vali." Erebus croaked, half confident he may meet his own demise, though his pride forced him to face the group courageously. "But as a professional serial killer I promise that you'll get to see something beautiful here tonight when I rip one of these maggot's of their putrid Obscura!"

The Desiertan viking was in the middle of something that had not a thing to do with him. "You want...Erebus?" The noble asked entirely confused. At the moment, Val had no love for this mysterious stranger so if he left right now there would be no guilt on his conscience. The warrior glanced over at the Draugr while he shouted towards his enemies. The Abyss? Don't tell me...

"Unfortunately for you, you don't have much of a choice, Erebus." The figure in the middle of the group of 5 slowly began to pull his hood down. The other hooded entities did the same, all of them revealing their true forms. There they stood, mighty and strong. Their aura reeked of blood, death, and everything unsanitary. The smaller female who held the corpse chimed in after her leader. "How could you leave me Erebus!? You were my favorite soul!" She shouted and sniffled. Her accent was country-like as if she hailed from the southern parts of the country. "Everyone is blaming me for what you did! So you have to come because....because now I have to keep a very, very, VERY, close eye on you Erepooh~!" In a matter of seconds her tone changed. Her expression went from sad- nearly in tears, to excited and ready to tear her enemies apart.

"Is this really happening?" The Viking whispered to himself. Why were the gods throwing him in all types of directions? Iceberg was not as troubling as this country, believe it or not. Once again Val was being dragged into business that probably didn't have anything to do with him...probably. The escaped soul known as Erebus jumped from the roof and faced his enemies on the ground beneath. As much as it felt wrong, Erebus hit a soft spot when he said what may have been his first and final goodbye. Then, he tapped into a more sadistic side. The Titan clenched his jaws. As he watched the demons he began to see a familiar pair of glowing blue eyes behind the large demon with a giant blade. That's when Val knew that it was the phantom from earlier. "Bad time to show up." He whispered.

Destroy the creatures of darkness.

Val's eyes widened as he heard a voice in the back of his head. There wasn't a doubt in his mind that this voice had belonged to the Blue-eyed phantom. What this spirit wanted was still unclear but for some reason the giant viking trusted that his orders were the right thing to do. With a nod he replied to Erebus."I expect nothing less from an Icebergan." Ready for war Vali frowned. His eyes darted forward as he began the battle by lunging forward off of the roof towards the demons. "The gods will make us victorious!" A confident smirk creasing his cheek.

Folding his finger, he created a magic circle above his finger aimed towards his enemies before releasing a small black ball of energy. The fattest demon quickly moved in front of his peers. The other giant demon with the blade, lunged downward towards Erebus, sword ready to eat his opponent.  With his hand the fat demon attempted to catch the black ball. However, upon contact it exploded creating a 1 by 1 meter screen of smoke whilst Val was beginning to drop from the air. Almost immediately after his attack, the fatso lunged forward seemingly unharmed, throwing his fist into the vikings crossed arms. Despite bracing for impact, the giant demon was so strong that the force alone was enough to send the lord crashing back down to the roof he came from.

"Are you going to let Boy fight?" The girl asked her leader who had been watching the event before them. On the other side of him there was a smaller boy. He was quiet and had two horns protruding from his head. His face was blank and he seemed bored of what was happening. "No. He is too unstable. Worst case scenario Boy will be our trump card." The woman laughed. "You know, Erebus would have made a great addition to the team." "I do hope you aren't catching feelings for such a filthy human." "Oh stop it, you're just jealous~ Erepooh wasn't always a filthy human, remember? He used to be a cute little puppy~ Too bad that our punisher will rip him limb from limb."

Erebus2

There was a lot of talk going on from characters that, well to be honest, Erebus had a lot of trouble remembering. In the abyss, the demons were merely voices in the dark, as he was forced to see only his body mutilated over and over. He wondered if their games were to turn him into a demon. He noticed the violence he now carried with himself, curious as to whether he nearly developed an Obscura himself.

Malum.

That was the only real Demon Erebus had the fancy of looking at, when he was grabbed by the titanic three hundred foot Lord. Because it was Malum's signature on Yumi's contract, he was the debt collector, and Vance had failed to round up souls in exchange for the magical weapons seemingly out of the future. Powerful as they were, Vance was a softy. He was not his predecessor, the Strategist; Erebus Cassiel.

`You can always ask me if you need anything.` Much like Vali, Erebus heard a voice as well, only without all the mysticism. Erebus was actually mentally insane, and had consciousness of two completely separate versions of himself at one time. Erebus was a dominant animus. But Vance's humanity was stronger, so extinguishing both flames was impossible. "And what could you do for me." Erebus asked, annoyed that his brain was allowing anything invasive to talk back to him. `You've got a big head, but unlike you, I think before I act. Let me show you what I've learned while you've been off murdering innocents, fiend.` Erebus gritted his teeth, puffing.

In front of him he watched as Vali and the demons closed in on each other. A few blinks later, and his fist unclenched. His mind was at ease.

- Vance -

With Vance at the helm, he quickly jots down the first target before him, the Punisher. Wielding the large item in his hands, it becomes apparent to the second incarnation of the Strategist, he's going to have to slow this guy's swing speed down, or his head is gone. The Leader chuckled, flying up from the smoke cloud, allowing his ally to clash with Vali, who would leap moments after sending Vali away to attempt planting a foot into the ribcage of the Icebergan lord. Both the Southern Belle and Boy flew up seconds later, it seemed they were levitating, watching the madness as both of the more obvious battle-oriented demons clashed with the mages.

Vance had little time to surmise why they weren't helping yet, but if he were to make a guess in the short second he had, it would be that they were all three spell-casters, and engaging on their target would penalize their colleagues, who had no choice but to fight close range. So he'd have to figure them out later, but Erebus was backseat now. Which meant he was gathering the intel. Vance hated to admit it, but Erebus was a brilliant mind, far more intelligent than he. But Vance could speculate, and he could time things. He lacked the impulsive nature of his greater self. He was always the right one to start a fight, and now he could do that!

"I know you won't come quietly, you were such a screamer. Maybe that's why our Southern Belle enjoyed you so much. But I promise you, you're going to hate it even more the second time around!" The leader barked just as Punisher would swing his mighty behemoth of a sword.

Vance was ready however, and fell to his knees. Ducking the sword with a hand planted between his legs. He didn't many answers to lean toward in such a situation, but he had to do something. He recalled other mages from his time, they had created `codings` for spells, which they could will with their minds. Vance always admired magic, whereas Erebus hated magic. They simply lacked a magical bone in their old body. But this was a new vessel. It could do wild things, they just had to will it!

Vance spun his hand around in a circle. He was winging it, but his faith was in the right place. A seal in front of his index finger came to life. A glowing grey, not very big, but big enough to give hope to the Husk.

"First is a cripple." He mouthed, and so the voice emitted. The beam hit the Punisher, and the demon felt it's body vibrate from the pinch. Vance was already ducked on the ground, with his spell casted he was now rolling  out of the way as the Punisher swung downward yet again. Van's eyes had been opened to the magic-- so once he was at least a few feet distance. He was already acting yet again. Using both hands. He drew with the motions for other letters. From an index finger on each hand two harmless beams splintered into the demon. "Second is Weakness." Vance cracked a grin, the Punisher threw his head back with a laugh. "Weakness? Cripple? Your spells are pathetic Erebus. That's why you failed Malum, that's why you'll fail today. Perhaps everyone was wrong about the black in your heart." The monster jested.

- Erebus -

Erebus was watching, and now, he was aware of it. The potential this body possessed. And better yet? He knew what Vance had in mind, his willpower was aimed at weakening the foe, not outright hurting it. Simpleton. Surely explosions would have been nicer but nonetheless, the lesser strategist was onto something. His insights brought them a great advance. Time to abuse it! Erebus slipped back into the conscious state. "You lack depth, you're simple." The Spellhowler taunted, smile painted wide, he drew in his own letter, mimicking Vance's tutorial with every word. Sure enough, a beam formed around Erebus's middle finger, flying forward, the beam hit the Punisher, just as the ugly swordsman raised it's sword and turned on it's heel to come at the Husk-- yet again... Meanwhile...

"Mmm the passion in these boys! Maybe it's the Icebergen I don't know why but I just wanna devour whatever they are, yuh-meeee!! That is, if Fat One doesn't do it first, he likes the bigger men, I see." The Southern Belle flushed with eyes full of heart, and a forked tongue licking her lips. Her finger tips pulling at her waistline panties, clearly violence was her favorite fetish. Boy wasn't very occupied by any of this, yet his eyes, they seemed trained on The Leader, almost like he was awaiting the moment his leash was to be taken off. "Fat One merely hungers for souls. He is a lot like an animal," The leader remarked. "I suppose all of us do though, myself included." He further pointed out.
Right around this time Fat One would have been backing off, whether his combo kick landed or not, he was curious as to what Vali would turn tide too next.

The Titan braced for impact with his arms crossed. He fell like a meteor onto the roof of the building he leapt from. The concrete was very welcoming to the young elf's back but for the elf the pain was nothing. The rubble and smoke blurred his vision so he unsheathed his dagger. "Woohoooo!!" From above his enemy was somersaulting in the air. This was all just a game to him. That alone frustrated Vali. Unlike these chaotic creatures he wasn't exactly immortal. As the fat demon completed his flip in the air his foot came down at an almost unrealistic speed. However, the Lord of Skaal was no stranger to enemies stronger than himself. All his life he had to fight and all his life he stood victorious. Today would not be the day for failure, there was just no way the gods would allow it. Besides, his brain was just as strong as his frame. Frowning, he quickly threw his legs over his head, using his hands to push him up to complete a backflip that would grant him some distance.

In the nick of time Val had managed to avoid the devastating kick. When the fat demon crashed into the ground, he created another crater, this one larger than the one Val had made with his body. This building had proved to be much sturdier than most, the layers of concrete proved to be an ally. "You are one ugly man..." That was all the giant fairy could manage to say as the fatso darted forward. The Creature first began by slamming his hand downard in hopes to smash his opponents head into the cement beneath them.

Slow. The noble viking thought as he leapt from the demon's attack. "I will end this quick then." He murmured as he dashed forward, his dagger revealed and ready to strike once he was before his enemy. In under a second the young lord had closed a distance of 6 meters. He was too fast for the fat creature to keep up and so the Elven warrior sliced it across it's stomach. A cursed mark immediately appeared but in the process the fat one became angered. "Owee! That hurt." He complained as his stomach ripped open. It turned into some sort of mouth? Revealing a row of teeth on each side. Swiftly Val tried to leap back but the demon's stomach released an annoying screeching noise. "Argh!"

A gust of energy had been released and it was strong enough to knock the lord onto his back. The loud screeching noise spread out over the entire area and would slightly damage the ears of anyone within 30 meters- excluding the other demons. "Jeez, I sure can't stand it when Fatso over there opens his mouth." The Southern Belle stated just as Val stood up. She watched the fight curiously. "Who is that man anywho? He's just in the way."

The Elf could tell that his opponent had more tricks up his sleeve. He didn't want to give this thing the opportunity to use em so when fatso moved forward Val moved forward too. The two approached each other and began to trade blows. "I don't know, but he has a weird aura." The creature swung his fist into Val's stomach, causing him to spit blood. Val responded by ignoring the pain and delivering a roundhouse kick to his enemy's face, sending him stumbling a bit to the left. Quickly the monster turned, ripping open his stomach again. The viking knew what was coming so quickly he dove out of the way as a 3 x 3 meter stream of Burgundy energy raged outward. In a second it crashed into a home about 40 meters away, blowing it up and destroying anything within 15 meters as a result.

Val created a throwing knife with his free hand before throwing it into the demon's stomach just to see what would happen. Of course he was disappointed to see that nothing happened. Instead his spell vanished within the stomach-mouth. The Noble Desiertan moved forward, activating his finger sword. Once again the two beings clashed, trading blows- but now Vali was clearly doing more damage. Slowly but surely the fat demon began to take some serious damage. The young Emissary was finding every opportunity to cut or stab the demon where his dagger had placed the cursed mark; right over his stomach.

The Boy's eyes shifted to Erebus as he began to watch him efficiently move. He was hungry to join the fray but without The Leader's permission he could do nothing. The Boy didn't understand why Erebus was so important to the Abyss. Still, he didn't make a sound. Only when he realized that the punisher was actually being hit by whatever was being thrown at him did he begin to get restless. Clenching his fists he tried his best to contain himself. The Punisher was hit by Erebus' spells and without a doubt he would feel the effects immediately kicking in. You see, the Punisher was almost like The Boy, in fact the two of them had a bond.

The Punisher believed that words were for the weak, all he needed was his power. He hated to feel like he had no control over himself so you could understand why he was angered by Erebus' hindering spells. The Punisher stopped in his tracks and lifted his sword, energy began to absorb it until the blade was completely black with power from the Abyss. "The Punisher can sense magical energy, it's what makes him the perfect Killer- it's how we were able to find Erebus. Nobody can run...or hide from the Punisher and I have not met any that have defeated him. However, If he's using that spell this early...then that can only mean that that he feels threatened by Erebus..." The leader spoke. "Hmm."

Without wasting another moment The punisher began to release a fury of of slices at super human speeds, releasing 2 meter long strikes of energy towards Erebus. "I will take your soul back to the Abyss myself, human." He stated as he continuously swung his blood at super speeds. Vali on the other hand was doing a good job against his opponent - or so he thought. With his finger sword he had managed to chop one of the Fat ones hands off, but for some reason no matter how many times his dagger struck the stomach he could make no virtual wounds. What was even weirder was the fact that the demon still appeared to be taking damage.

Vali leapt back and flicked his finger, sending a small black ball of energy towards his opponent. The Fat demon smiled with his head slightly cocked to the side like a baby. No movements were needed for him to open his stomach and absorb the black ball of destructive energy. "Dammit you fat bastard." He whispered as he straightened his posture. "Okay! I don't want to play anymore, I'm sooo booooooored!" He complained with a sigh. "Aye. Do not worry, fiend I will put you out of your misery." The Icebergan Lord was confident now because he hadn't used any of his enhancement spells. With a smirk he crossed his arm.

"Bye Bye!" The fat creatures waved as his stomach opened, this time revealing another mouth within the mouth on his stomach. Suddenly Vali's feet had been slipping from under him and slowly he was being pulled. "What the- Oh fuck." He murmered upon realizing what exactly was about to happen. Quickly he looked around for that could change his fate. "Shit shit shit shit shit." Then it came to him. Val opened both his arms, each arm extending outward. When the mouth-stomach finally pulled Vali in, his arms were there wrapped around the creature to stop it. The Fatso remained smiling. The stomach had been trying it's hardest to suck Vali in, so much so that it actually began to hurt. "AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!"

"Jeez Louise, suck him already Fatso! Suck him! Suck him! Suck him! PUT HIM INSIDE OF YOU PEA BRAIN!" Then *Crack* Vali slammed his head into the Demon's head, stunning him. When the sucking finally stopped the Elven warrior ran forward at Maximum speed before lunging off of the building and into the sky directly towards the Leader with his hand raised. "I got you!" He shouted. The Southern Belle's eyes widened as her enemy lunged and quickly she came to intervene. "Oh no you d-" Vali swung his hand downward, causing a giant metallic hand to fall on top of her. Luckily she was strong enough to hold it up with the only hand she hadn't been holding the dead body in.

The Fat One Lunged after Vali using that eating spell again. No no no he thought as he began to feel the wind pulling him in. The Leader stood there emotionless, confident that Vali wasn't a threat until the Fairy actually managed to grab his tie. The Leader raised an eyebrow, obviously surprised but not at all worried. The Boy on the other hand just watched as he was told not to do anything. "Dammit do something Boy!!" But the only person he obeyed was the Leader. Vali pulled the red-eyed demon with him as the Fat One sucked both of them inside him.

Erebus2

Things were heating up, with Erebus glancing back to hear Fatso slam into the roof, causing what seemed to be a rather large crater. They were going at it fairly hard, a bit harder than Erebus was able to currently deliver battle.

For the moment, he was still learning, and it seemed his foe was a tad bit more threatening than first thought. Erebus couldn't evade forever... He knew his stamina was parching fast, just as it had after he heaved his self onto the building. Fat One's shriek woke the Husk from his exhausted haze, which he was still developing. His stomach felt nausea after creating four spells, even if they were weak and new to him, mana had never been used by the ex-Lycan. He was so much more adept at close range. Yet now, he was on his feet with nothing but a debuffing technique.

Just then, the Punisher subsided to gather darkness around his Executioner sword. Erebus watched, the sweat building substantially. The mighty blade grew in length, such length that Erebus was going to find a difficult time in getting close. Crossing an 'X' with his arms, he was forced to duck his head under the block, as his foe mercilessly swung the monster sword down upon him many times. Each strike stung, but nothing like the pain he'd endured in the Abyss. Not enough to make him give in. Falling to his knee. The Punisher began to swing back and forth over and over as if he was beating the human down with a bat.

Erebus was losing consciousness fast. Then, like so long ago. Erebus cracked. The Meltdown commenced and he lunged, sliding against his knees under the black of the magical blade, and then back up again to grab his foe, as he pressed to his feet. Hands locked around The Punisher's knees; Erebus wildly pushed upward and lifted. The weight of the sword was out along with Punisher's weakened strength, coupled with his own vigorous momentum, Erebus had this one chance to do something. He couldn't fold now. It was time to smother the chance of failure.

"You'll regret coming for me." He croaked, on his hinges.

No, matter of factly, Erebus was unhinged. He slammed the Punisher. Concrete meeting the demon's jawline. Stunned.

The Husk was barely alive himself after sustaining damage earlier. Thankfully he had weakened the Punisher, so the buff had brought him back to his regular strength, but no higher than a B-rank mage. Believe it or not, Erebus was on this thing's level. Erebus was beyond this things level, at one time he would have torn this Devil's arms off. He felt it. Had this been a fair fight, his strength, the way it once was, would have dwarfed this demon. But now? Now, he was forced to cling to life. He was adamant for it. No one was going to harm him ever again, and he was not going back to the abyss. Not for anything in this world or even that one.

Erebus left no room for the demon to act on, he sprung forth to his feet upon slamming the swordsman, he knew pinning the beast could've had him thrown off quickly. So he followed up by brutally stomping the face of the stunned Punisher into the concrete. Boot meeting head hard and rough over and over. Until what looked like red blood began to pool around the fiend's cloth. Without even giving the monster time to stand, Erebus used his other foot and crushed the wrist holding the sword. The dark spell wore off of the blade and Erebus finesse that shit right out of the Demon's hands.

He wasn't done yet though. The horror of murder was in his eyes. He struggled to wield it as efficiently. However, unfinished he was, so he would bring it down on the body aching and struggling to stand. Once... Twice... He brought the sword into the back of the demon. Third... Fourth. Relentlessly, he would swing it. Gaining speed, between each heave.

"I'm a Headhunter, you're playing my game now." He smiled, red spatters decorating his face.

A disgusting swing on the back of the neck, revealed black bones at the nape of the spine. Erebus began to stomp on that spot, loosening it. He then chopped three more times, while Vali kept The Southern Belle and Fatso busy up ahead. Actually, Vali's distraction gave Erebus ample time to kill. The Husk planted his butt on the back of Punisher, scooting the sword away. Using both hands, Erebus would twist the Punisher's head around, bending the bones till he could hear tendons snapping out of place. He rolled the head in circles, the skin followed suit and tore. Blood spilling grotesquely.

POP! Just like that, Erebus had beheaded a demon. It was over for Punisher. Boy had been forced to watch, The Leader had been negligent for too long watching Vali and Fatso close in on each other. Now with one of the demons dead. The numbers were going to slip by quite quickly.

Erebus began to laugh, caught in the trance of the deed. The Abyss had done this to him. Made him even more psychotic than he once was. Now look, reduced to this. A person who wasn't a person. Mentally fucked in all the wrong ways, yet a prodigy to these demons. He possessed the brute murderous side that all of the Demonic manipulated, Yet he wasn't even one of them. Saved by the grace of HER. Erebus was a weapon. A Force of Chaotic Nature.

He stood up, the head in one hand, while bending over for the blade in the other. "Your friend is my trophy!" The Husk screamed up to them, the sudden call would surprise all in the area. It would kill the demon's of their morale, and give Vali enough time to turn the tides. Fatso's sucking would pull The Southern Belle from under the massive hand. Unless Vali dodged, they'd be swallowed together. Eaten by the gluttonous being. Meanwhile, Erebus had sustained serious damage. One of his arms barely intact. He was nearing Hindered status already, he doubted he could fair against another demon for long.

But like a gladiator. He awaited their call. He'd fight until his last breath. It was in his blood.

The Southern Belle, the Leader, and the Boy all looked towards Erebus with surprised expressions. Erebus had actually managed to kill one of these fuckers while Val had only managed to rile the rest of them up. Truthfully he just wanted to kill them all at once. He was so used to handling things on his own that he acted faster than he thought. With his mother, his people and all of the pressure of leading on his mind lately, he found himself making more brash decisions. This wasn't a fight like any other the viking lord had been in. This was something totally different. What Vali had gotten himself wrapped up in was well beyond what he was ready for. These demons were of a different caliber. Were they lords? Unfortunately Vali only had a moment to think.

As he and the two enemies were being sucked inside of the fat demon he glanced over at Erebus. The viking hoped to catch Erebus' eyes in that split moment because words weren't an option. Val's eyes were filled with confidence, a hint of fear but most of all excitement. Deep down inside the Titan was getting a kick out of this. Fighting was apart of who he was, it was apart of his culture, he truly did loved love it. Val's eyes would reveal how serous Vali had found the situation. Despite not knowing Erebus all too well, the gesture was meant to remind him that this was life or death. With a nod he'd tell Erebus to win at all costs because he would be doing the same.

If the pair of Icebergans somehow survived this madness, Erebus would have a lot of explaining to do. For now, Vali had to focus on the objective at hand. In what felt like a second, he was falling into pure darkness. The lord grunted as he fell onto a solid surface. Following him were both The Southern Belle and the leader, except they had the ability to fly, so they were slowly dropping to the ground. The elven warrior quickly stood up before leaping back, hands up, dagger raised and ready to give this battle all he had. "All you had to do was mind your business. Now lookatcha... in business you ain't got no business bein' in!" The belle spoke wagging her finger as her feet kissed the floor.

She wore a purple feathered scarf and a loose purple silk dress, still the dead body was over her arms. "You're strong, even for an elf..." The leader began. Val frowned watching their every move. Oddly enough it wasn't easy to find an opening. He felt like they'd be able to counter everything he did. "No wait...there's something else." He said as he cocked his head.

Meanwhile The boy and The fat one would both be facing Erebus. The boy emotionless, levitating in the air in front of Erebus. His eyes were trained on his enemy, desperate for the moment when he could unleash himself. The leader hadn't given his word yet so there was nothing for him to do for the time being. Fatso on the other hand was levitating to Erebus' far left. People had begun to come out into the streets curious as to what was going on. "It's time for you to die again! Hahahahahaha!" The fat one laughed. The citizens swarmed into the streets, watching cautiously at the scene before them.

"Oh! Yay! I was getting hungry too!" Fatso's eyes widened. With a smirk he closed he bit his lip excitedly, fixed his posture and inhaled with all his strong. Suddenly the people around the area began to drop, and ghost-like energy began rise out of their corpses to enter Fatsos mouth. He was indeed absorbing the souls around him, but for some reason Erebus' soul was not one of them. That was enough to cause a shitshow. People began to scream and run away in terror, leaving their homes to move elsewhere as quick as possible but still Fatso continued absorbing souls as if he was building up for some big attack.

On the inside of Fatso, Vali, the Belle, and the leader were getting along rather well. One second the leader was about 10 meters in front of Vali, the next he was beside him. The viking turned to react but he was not fast enough to attack first. The Leader snatched the half-elf's wrist and stopped it mid-air. The red-eyed leader brought Val's wrist closer to his eyes, studying his veins. His eyes shimmered with a purplish color. That's when the demon saw it. Quickly he vanished again before reappearing beside the belle in literally no time. "You don't even know what you are..." Vali clenched his jaws. None of what this demon said mattered. It could have all been apart of some mind game, he thought.

The exciting life of Vali Onfroy could end at any moment. Now more than ever he felt a sickening pressure. He now knew that The leader could move at unreasonable speeds. There was just no way he could make it out alive. "Your friends stomach is not what I imagined." "You should be happy that we're here, we're the only reason you aren't losin' your mind right now." The Viking lifted his dagger. His armor covered him as his cape hung from his shoulders. "Erebus is going to kill this fat bastard, and then I am going to send you ugly fucks back to where you came from." In the moment he looked heroic, like a true warrior. "That's IF he can kill Fatso.

"Kill him, Belle." The leader commanded. The Southern Belle smiled before dropping the body in front of her leader. Slowly she stepped forward as if she was walking down a runway. One step in front of the other. Suddenly the clicks form her shoes grew louder and louder until finally the noise began to irritate Vali's brain. Quickly he put his hands over his ears. He watched the Belle but noticed that even though she was walking, she had not moved any closer. Instead, the Leader began to float further away until finally all he could see was the female demon. What his eyes beheld next was enough to stun him. The Belle had begun to morph into...his mother.

"Mother?" He asked in Icebergic with widened eyes. "M-mother...y-you're alive!?"

Erebus2

Between Erebus and Vali, eye contact had indeed been made. An understanding among killers, if Vali was the merciless lord of the battleground, then Erebus was the reaper in the graveyard. They understood what life and death meant, matter of factly, Erebus knew death, and Vali knew life. You could even say they were two sides of the same coin in terms of their unforgiving, yet brutal sense for destruction in the wake of their enemies. Very well. With everyone sucked into Fat One's stomach, aside from Boy and himself. It would become quite obvious, that he would be forced to dismantle not one, but two of these devils. When the reality of the situation stood to reason he barely had enough power to take out a single foe.

Clenching the mighty sword in his hands, Erebus grimaced. "Losing now means torture for all time. I simply cannot let you freaks win, not for the blood on my back. If I die and meet my end, I want to have chosen that fate. Not been stripped of it. Fuck your contracts, and fuck Malum while we're at it." Erebus spat, cursing the demonic God. Whom he was sure was monitoring this fight from the Underworld right now.

His head hurt, and his arms burned from the attacks used earlier. How was he going to win? He could barely move his arms anymore? It was going to have to be mind over matter. Just then, Erebus heard a door creak open. His eyes, moved to see family's stepping out of their doors, woken by the noise... "Lambs to the slaughter... Go back!" He warned. More for he, than them. It was a lost cause though, Fat One commenced on their savory blue orbs. Sucking them out; the bodies shriveling into rigor-mortise along with it. "For fuck's sake." He couldn't help but curse. The odds were ever against his favor.

Erebus had to act however, he let the sword's tip hit the concrete, using his free hand he quickly channeled the codes to his spells, leaving a runic glyph at each of the four fingertips on his left hand. While fatso sucked in souls, Erebus shot his beams in that direction. Then his hand went back to the hilt of his sword, and he took off at full speed toward Fatso. His aim? Cutting this thing down, and freeing his friend from the pit of the beast!

The dark skinned woman who appeared to be his mother approached him slowly, a smile on her face as if she was happy to see her murderer. "I killed you..." he began. "I saw you die." His eyes widened. The viking was completely unaware at this point that he was under some form of illusion spell. Even if he was aware, it felt and looked so real he could only assume that this was happening. Not to mention seeing his mothers face did a good job in softening his mind at the moment. "My son...you killed me... you did this to me....now I can never be with my family again...how could you?" The dark skinned goddess began. She cried as she walked towards her son in a white gown. Her voice seemed genuine.

Val's eyes began to water as he tried to explain himself. "I did what I had to do, mother. You told me to always put the safety of our people first. I did what you would have done." "No my child, you chose to do this to me. Instead of helping me get rid of the darkness inside of me, you listened to your father and killed the person that loved you most." As if she knew how simple the entire situation would have been if he had done just that. The titan viking began to shake as his mother came closer. As a leader he knew that she was wrong. Killing her prevented extremely horrible things from happening. Not only that, but nobody was safe from the law- especially when you commit mass genocide. Val's eyes fell to the floor.

"I...I never wanted to hurt you mother, never." "And yet you murdered me in cold blood!! Look at me!!!" She demanded. The Viking lord turned his head a way, clenching his jaw as he held back tears. A second later he found his eyes slowly looking towards her. "I-I'm sorry..." he whispered. The elven woman began to move closer when suddenly her gown caught a flame. "That is not enough, Val. I need you to be here with me." She complained as the flame on her dress began to grow. The Lord of Skaal spotted it hoping to save his mother but found himself unable to move his body or his mouth as the flame spread.

Within seconds the flame took his mothers entire body and her screams filled the area. Her pain and agony could be felt with every pitch in her voice. The screams themselves torutred Vali. He cried hysterically and screamed with his mouth shut. He was helpless just like he had felt when he felt forced to murder her. The woman continued to move forward though. Even though all her pain she reached her son. When she was in front of him the flames instantly dwindled and revealed her in an all black gown. She placed her hand onto his shoulder before pressing down, forcing him onto his knees. "This is your fault." She stated. "Mother, I'm sorry! If there was another option I-" The mad black woman threw her foot into her son's stomach, causing him to spit up. Val's eyes widened. He was in utter shock because not once did his mother ever put hands on him.

Outside of Vali's head, the Leader stood behind the Southern Belle. "Enough playing and finish him off." The Belle could only listen to her leader, she couldn't respond but if she could have she'd make up some excuse not to follow instruction. Ignoring the Leader, she focused on her opponent who had been in distress before her. From the outside Vali was screaming and tossing his head to and fro. Inside his head though, his mother was giving him a beating. After kicking him in his stomach she slapped him across the face. "Tron is using you to build his world, and you are naive enough to let him. I should have killed you." She continued. Something clicked in Val's head. His mother had been referring to his father, but she called him...tron? She could never forget his name, her love for the Jarl was too deep.

That was enough to break Vali from the Belle's grip on his mind. Still in his head, he blinked back into reality. Just when his mother was about to go for his neck with her palm he stood up quick and grabbed her neck with his hands instead. Staring deep into the Belle's eyes, he was filled with rage. His face however, portrayed a man who had just gone nuts- nonchalant but obviously thirsty for bloodshed. Without a word he threw his other hand onto the neck of his mother and began to squeeze with all his strength. The woman struggled to breath, kicking and swinging her hands to break from his grasp. Slowly he began to lift her into the air, his eyes blank and his mind a bit disturbed. "V-Vali s...st-stop." She begged.

"You are not my mother." he roared in Icebergic. Four beings rose from around Vali. All of them were demon-like in appearance and they aimed to harm the Titan. Like air, their strikes simply went through the Elf. "Illusions...I should have known. I would never hurt a lady but You are too strong to leave alive, so I will kill you right now." His voice was cold and raspy with enough bass to shatter glass. On the outside of Vali's head, the southern belle was choking where she stood. Although she was standing a few meters away from her enemy, he was still managing to hurt her. The Leader watched her with an eyebrow raised, a bit confused but unbothered nontheless. The Fairy squeezed her neck until he heard a loud snap, and just like that she was dead.

Immediately he was broken out of his mind and his eyes once again revealed the Leader. The Belles body laid on the the surface, lifeless. The Leader seemed almost unfazed, but the Icebergan could sense a bit of unease in him. "I see... You Icebergans are troublesome creatures. Don't allow the victory of one battle fool you into believing that you've won the war. You will die today, human." The leader began as he slowly began to lift a finger. Suddenly a large force erupted from under the boom and in the next moment Vali found himself back in the town of Astera. The Leader had retreated beside the boy quicker than Val's eyes could see while he found himself laid on the floor. Quickly he stood up, finding Erebus beside him as the body of the Fat demon began to turn into ash.

"I had faith that you would slay the gluttonous demon, Aye." Val said to him with a nod. "That weapon suits you well." He added coldly. What he had just experienced inside the fat demon was truly disturbing. It didn't at all sit well with him because it felt too real. His own armor was battered, bruised, and the cape was torn but it was still working just fine. His Dagger remained on his waist. The leader and the boy floated 20 meters in front of both Icebergans about 15 meters in the air. As the Half-elf looked down, he could see tons of bodies all around him. Lifeless bodies stripped of their souls just moments before he was released. "We need to end this now."

Erebus2

While Vali was trapped in the belly of the beast, Erebus was busy trying to cut a giant-sized knife into it. Swinging with strength he knew he shouldn't have had, the exertion was tiresome. And the Fat One was definitely more ready to swing than the last guy. Erebus was forced to leave the beheaded corpse behind.

Ducking under the fists of Fatso was difficult enough, but one shot to the face, and Erebus, along with his mighty sword were thrown far off into a window; where he busted his ass on top of glass shards. There wouldn't be time to sit though; the huge demon pushed his arm through the hole in the wall and grabbed the Husk by the neck. Three powerful punches to the stomach and Erebus threw up on the spot. He was then thrown back into the street like a puny rag-doll. His face bloodied, and stomach bruised. Erebus had little he could do at this point. Boy smirked from above, disheartened that Punisher was dead. But Demons lacked the same feelings as humans, he was just happy this pesky ant was finally getting squashed...

However, his eyes would widen when he noticed Erbus pulling himself up. Dusting his pants. Both hands went back to the sword. "You hit like your mother's bitch." He spat out, blood tangled in words. Fatso was angered by this comment, he shot forward at an ungodly speed. Thankfully his strength had dwindled from the debuff(s) earlier. Erebus moved the sword before the fist. The metal and the fist colliding damaged the weapon, but Fatso pulled back in pain as if he had snapped his own wrist on the hard surface.

Bad idea. Erebus moved forward. Lunging the sword through the creature's chest. He then sawed it outward as he pulled the foe's body to the ground. Blood began to leak. However, the monster didn't wanna lay and die, it's knee met pavement next. It screamed, as the battle in his own stomach was settling. The Southern Belle and Vali were finishing up. Just as Erebus spun the sword around to behead the demon... Out shot Vali from the stomach.

Just in time for him to see the corpse perish into ash. Noticing this, Erebus quickly turned his eyes back to the Punisher's corpse... Fuck! It was gone. Erebus became pissed. All his efforts, and he had nothing to show for them. Vali spoke to him, to which Erebus answered... Holding a lot of rage back. "Yes I quite like it. I think I'll keep it, should we live after tonight Vali." Erebus said, his coat and shirt ripped to smithereens. He allowed the coat to fall off his back, revealing that he was ready to get serious. "Right."

With just a knight and the king left against two pawns on the board. Erebus and Vali were ready to engage. "Which one do you want then? Cause all I can see is a coward and a kid, can't be much left of these two." He jested, mocking the last two demons. Because, for what it appeared, the strongest were out of the way. Key word: appeared.

"Get them Boy. Destroy them both, leave nothing left but Erebus's soul. The object is to collect the runner, fail and you will be punished by Malum for ten thousand years." The Leader was actually sweating, behind closed lips, his teeth were gritted. He couldn't understand how these humans were so powerful. Not even powerful, just intact. They had powerful will. Hope and willpower were magic demons couldn't contain, just too chaotic even for them. Yet humanity had it. They would show it here and now.

The battle that would determine everything was about to begin. The giant elf's eyes squared in on the Leaders. They both had unfinished business to settle and from the looks of things he was the only one Vali's size. Even if the child was a demon, his pride wouldn't allow him to engage if he didn't have to. The Half-elf twirled his dagger between his fingers before gripping its handle with his left hand. The two beings stood mighty in the air. What a useful spell to have- one that allowed you to fly. It was probably next to impossible for Vali to have such spells. His magic was built for battle. The dead-like man asked the lord who he would take as his opponent. Without hesitation he responded immediately. "The Coward is mine." He then smirked. "The child is puny and you are puny, it is a fair fight." The boy was about five feet. Erebus probably wasn't really that short, but the half-elf was huge. Everyone was small to him. "Aye, there is something off bout that child. Fight well, brother." When two men fight beside each other against common enemies, sharing the same experience, they become your brother in arms. At least for that moment. Vali meant his words.

The Leader suddenly began to speak, demanding his partner to kill them both. So, Val stomped his foot quickly as a magic circle appeared around his pelvis. As it began to cause blue electricity-like energy to dance around him he touched his pelvis area. There another circle was born, this one causing yellow eletrcitiy-like energy to dance around his body as well. The boy darted forward aiming for Vali first. It was the most logical move, so logical that the young lord expected it. Erebus, was the one they wanted so it made sense for Vali to be taken out first. Right now the Viking placed all of his faith in Erebus and bent his knees. Suddenly he lunged toward the leader. If Erebus didn't intervene the the zooming kid would crash right into Val's rib. Val didn't lunge forward because he rusted the condemned man, he was just eager to kill the leader. That demon was there inside the belly of the beast with him, and he had allowed his comrade to play with his mind by using his mother as a weapon.

If the Kid hadn't successfully crashed into Vali, the young lord would reach the leader in a second. The young elf swung his hand and aimed for the mans throat. The first strike was easy to dodge and so the leader quickly grabbed Vali's hand after weaving. The demon frowned before turning his opponent away from Erebus and his opponent. "You're a big one. Fast, but not fast enough-" Only dangling in the air for a split moment, Vali kicked his legs up and wrapped them around the leader's head before flipping himself backwards and throwing the leader down. Vali had managed to catch his eyes as he fell but he still seemed mostly unfazed. It was almost as if he was allowing himself to fall.

. The leader slammed into the ground and soon after Vali followed with his knees. Swiftly he flipped back and waited to see the results. Before his very eyes he could see the shell of the demonic being in front of him cracking. His skin began to fall from his face like class. A black gas-like substance began to rise from the broken skin. Slowly the leader began to pick himself up until he stood before Vali as a virtually different being. "Vali Onfroy, son of Troy Onfroy, heir to Skaal, tell me... where do you think your mothers soul is?" Vali frowned, glaring at his enemy. Fuck the question, he was trying to find quick way to beat this demon.

"Your mother made a very stupid choice before you killed her. Where do you think she is because of y-" Vali darted forward at max speed, much faster than he had ever moved before. Before the demon could finish he had approached him with more fury in his eyes than ever before. The demon quickly zoomed into the sky above before his enemy could reach him. that was faster... the demon thought as he watched Val. Quickly the noble aimed his hand towards the sky and plucked a black ball of energy towards The leader. Moving at such a high speed, upon impact the spell exploded but the explosion was seemingly reversed  as the leader harnessed it into his own hand before dropping it. Val leapt out of the way and when he found his footing lunged towards the demon again.
