Caspian Kaldwin
The same old rhythmic drumming bashed on the large oak frame of the door, before it was slowly pushed open by the large man. Standing in the doorway, his built arms crossed over his broad chest as he raised a golden eyebrow. The mage rolled both shoulders with a deep exhale, stretching himself as he took a step into the shop, greeted by the man who practically pushed him outside the store with a parcel. Telling him where to go before scurrying off to his appointment, leaving the blond to huff deeply as he began to venture off. The Fairy Tail member’s boots crushed the small rocks to dust as he began to pursue toward the forest, rolling his shoulders with a soft huff. Caspian held the parcel under his right arm pit tightly, as he ran his fingers through his golden locks. Spiking them slightly for fun, as he listened to the singing of birds. He was getting closer toward the forest, that was for sure. Every step he took gave off a clicking sound of his boots, as he pushed forward with haste, the chirping and singing of the birds growing louder and louder before being shrouded by the shadows of the trees. As he entered, a deer began to leap away out of fright from the appearance of what was new and clearly a stranger. Avoiding any interaction with the man at all, causing him to pull an exaggerated plain face at the creature’s rudeness with a huff.

The deeper he delved, the closer he found himself to his location, walking past the overgrown vegetation that was home to many creatures and from he heard; The Hermit. It was strange to think of it, living so deep in the forest and in a tree of all things. It was quite strange, no doubt about it. However, he couldn’t really talk, he was basically lying to himself that he was more well off than the old hermit when he was a child. Just because he lived in the city, but he lived in the slums where no money came through. Tourists and merchants steered clear away from the slums in fear of catching disease or being robbed, which was too be fair because, it was really one or the other if you set up shop in the slums. It didn’t take long after since he encountered the engorged trees before he had found the hermit’s home, looking at it’s large wooden door, well of course it was wood. It was a tree! Before kicking the bottom corner of the door, the knock booming loudly as he did it three times consecutively. Almost immediately, a frail old frame opened the door, meeting Caspian with a bright smile, licking his lips softly before holding out a package in his hands. “Oh! Aren’t you something, going through all this trouble for me? Here, take these herbs. Just like Saton ordered!” The hermit grinned ear to ear, swiping the package from Saton and swapping it for the parcel he held himself.

The Old Hermit couldn’t help to ponder, something was missing. Oh that’s right! A reward, dear old Saton wouldn’t dare pay Caspian properly he thought. Holding up a finger, he scurried back into his home after leading the member in. There Kaldwin starred at all the furniture fitted in, it was quite cosy and roomy. The Hermit had returned, smiling ear to ear, thrusting a liquorice root stick at Caspian, whom held the parcel in hand. He was about to ask before the Hermit slammed it in the Guild Member’s mouth, encouraging him to chew. “Go on! It’s good for you, chew it up!” The Hermit advised, as Caspian followed the instructions, feeling a new burst of energy slowly build in him before being sent away with a toothy grin. Kaldwin had found the door slammed behind him, which he obviously groaned audibly at. These old people sure had no patience, it was questionable, however it wasn’t the time to dwell and to be upset on being kicked out of a strange man’s tree home. He had to take the parcel back. There our hero began to retrace his steps and refollow the path he had previously taken, slowly but surely finding his way back. The trip was long, very long! It had taken him all day! Dusk had already fallen, but he had made it to the shop, the man entering with sore legs and tiredness. There he placed the parcel on the desk, sighing as he took his payment. “Never again.”
