As the door flew open lying flat onto the floorboards beneath them, Snowflake hastily scanned the room, her eyes dragging back and forth of the scene as she picked up everything within her sight. She had to admit that the interior was rather grand despite its rustic outer appearance of the building; even having a chandelier located in the center of the ceiling and the walls lined with old paintings and decorations, its glass windows filling up the entire wall all the way up to the ceiling. It almost put her in disbelief that this was merely a village, but seeing how fancy the manor house was, it seemed that her assumptions were wrong. The mayor was living in wealth whilst the rest of the villagers appeared to be having just the most average livelihood, some even less.
That was not the issue nonetheless since they were here to search for the mayor and the culprits who seemed to have kidnapped him. The glow from the hole between the floorboards was impossible not to notice as it attracted the attention of both the Fiore wizards. Just as she entered the building, those people who were in a trance whom she assumed were the guards of the house came pouring out of the doorways. Since they did no harm to them it would be best if were put unconscious so as they don’t hinder their objective.
While Kazimir handled the zombified guards, she brought herself down to the lower level of the building where they had caught sight of the purple crystal. No doubt it was the relic that was putting all the villagers in a trance. As she hastened down to the lower level, the man which she assumed was the leader of the pack – according to the guy she’d bounded earlier – was waiting by the crystal with the mayor tied down to a chair. From the look of the mayor’s face, it was apparent that he was under the spell as well and he would most likely wouldn’t even remember what was going on.
”Let him go.” she spoke, her voice stern and fierce.
”Why should I? With this relic, I can even make this entire village mine and none of them would even know what happened.” ”It’s not yours. Take an abandoned land for yourself, this is occupied with villagers who are innocent.” The woman simply shook her head. There was no point in sharing any other words between the two as it was made obvious of how selfish the man was, despite the property not being his. Before he could open his mouth to speak another word, her legs broke into a dash and in the midst of the action, her hands reached towards her waist and drew her flaming sword from the sheath, its fire immediately bursting alive once it was drawn.
As expected from a bulky man who was merely just muscles, there was some resistance from him. He fought back, parrying some of her attacks but the flames from her blade would whisk him at every thrust she made, finally rendering her foe weak enough to not being able to withstand her attacks. When the man had dropped down onto his knees, she brought her blade close to his neck.
”Acknowledge your defeat. Leave, and never return.” The buffed man simply gulped down, his sweat cascading down his temple as he nodded and quickly fled.
Now, the only that was left was to destroy the purple crystal and everything would return to normal – she hoped. With her blade, she sliced the crystal into half, the item briefly glowing and trembled as she destroyed it, threatening to explode before it shattered into tiny crystal pieces. The villagers thankfully returned back to their usual self though they didn’t retain any memories of anything that happened while they were in a trance. The two were thanked significantly by the villagers and the mayor and soon, the two wizards bid farewell, content with both of their work having completed.
